I hope readers enjoy how helpful the new Kwamiis are.
Marinette and Adrien arrived very early in the morning at Master Fu's to drop off Starry and Flitter. It was time for them to take care of another pair for a few days.
Master Fu opened the door and ushered them in. "I apologize for asking you to come so early. I remembered you told me you both be very busy today. I thought it would be better to give them to you now.
He handed each of them a strong cup of tea before heading to his room with Starry and Flitter. A few minutes later, he returned with Griff and Raah. "As a reminder, Griff is the Kwami of Metal and Raah is the Kwami of Quintessence. Griff, Raah, these are Marinette and Adrien."
Griff drifted over and debated who he wanted to be his temporary caretaker. Marinette would certainly fall for his charming behavior. She could also benefit from his cunning nature.
However, Adrien was rich. Like any griffin, he loved shiny items. Who knew what precious metals were worth these days? Plus, he was certain a personal chef would have a month's worth of pickles to eat.
Raah was also observing the teenagers. He knew right away who would be the perfect caretaker. He hovered in front of Marinette and bowed. "I would love to have you as my caretaker."
"Please don't think it's just because you have access to my favorite food, brownies, but I do love your spirit."
Marinette held out her hands for Raah to land in. She gave him a little nuzzle and placed him inside her purse with Tikki. By default, Griff dove into Adrien's bag. Muffled arguing could be heard.
"I got to get back. Nathalie's supposed to wake me up in fifteen minutes. My dad will blow a gasket if I went out for an early morning walk by myself."
"Good luck with your commercial," Marinette called out as he left. She wasn't ready to leave yet.
Master Fu knew what she wanted to talk about. "Marinette, I assure you that I'm not upset about you bringing, Ms. Kubdel here. You should have excellent judgment."
The bluenette agreed and she was no longer conflicted by the choice. She still had a few concerns. "We had no choice, but to inform the others of your existence. I'm worried about having one more person knowing your location."
"Alix nearly blew it when she transformed inside your apartment, instead of waiting until we were a distance away. You're the Guardian. If Shadowmoth locates you before we can get you to safety it's all over."
Master Fu reminded her that he wasn't completely defenseless. He had the wards around the building to slow the villain down. He also could perform a few spells.
If worse came to worse, he informed her of a secret. "Ning was worried about me. On her last visit, she installed a small panic room. It's right in my bedroom. All I need to do is go into my closet and press a hidden panel. A portion of the wall will retract and I can slip inside."
Marinette was gobsmacked. Living underground really helped Ning figure out good hiding places.
"How about the safe? Can it withstand the force of a Miraculous weapon?"
Master Fu nodded as he had placed a few protection spells on it to enhance the metal and locks. It was also bolted down which meant it couldn't be removed. He had been thorough in ensuring that the Miraculouses were well guarded.
"I thank you for your concern. Adrien has promised to help me upgrade my security to ensure regular thieves don't break-in. I'm doing everything possible to keep the Miraculouses, and myself, safe."
Satisfied that the Guardian was safe, Marinette left. She had promised to join Kagami in the park and pose with her while her father drew them. Marinette couldn't wait to meet Kagami's father.
An hour later Adrien was at the pool getting prepared for the commercial. It was another ad campaign for his father's cosmetic products. Commercials made him a little nervous. Unlike modeling, he had to move. Sometimes he had to talk as well which meant practicing them for days so he could say them on cue.
Griff looked through the opening in the bag confused by what the young teen was wearing. "That's what humans call modern bathing suits? They look like oversized underwear."
"You know humans "cousin." They have to keep changing what's sociably acceptable all the time," Plagg commented before inhaling a piece of cheese.
Griff shuddered at what he had just seen. "Remember, you need to chew your food before swallowing. You don't want to choke do you?"
Plagg laughed. "Kwamiis can't choke, remember? As soon as food enters our mouths it shrinks to microscopic size."
"There's a first time for everything," Griff remarked.
In the main pool, Adrien was getting ready to do his first take. He was supposed to dive off the board gracefully, while being surrounded by birds, and land in the pool without making a big splash.
When the tech guys were finished, it would look like he had jumped off the Eiffel Tower in slow motion until he dropped inside a bottle of liquid. The camera would pull out showing it was a perfume bottle. Then the slogan would appear persuading hundreds of women to buy the product.
Of course, he wasn't sure how this would go considering he was allergic to feathers and they had to use actual birds for the commercial. It was nice to see Mr. Ramier getting to use his trained pigeons for something good.
"Alright, places everyone! I want this first take to be our only take!" Bob Roth yelled at everyone. The nasty producer turned his attention to Mr. Ramier. "You better get this right Xavier or I'll have the Mayor exterminate every last pigeon in Paris."
Mr. Ramier trembled as he assured the man he would do his job. He turned to the flock and whispered, "Everyone, be on your best behavior. This is our only chance to prove to the Mayor he doesn't have to relocate all of you to another country."
The pigeons cooed. It was almost like they knew what was going on.
The first take didn't go as planned. As Adrien dived, his allergy made him sneeze several times and causing him to plop into the pool. Bob Roth yelled at Mr. Rameir blaming him for the screw-up.
Adrien climbed out of the pool and got between the two men. "It's not his fault. I'm allergic to feathers. Doesn't matter what species. Just let me grab a nose plug and we can try again."
As he headed back to the changing room he called out over his shoulder, "Pigeons and doves are one in the same so don't yell at Mr. Ramier because he's done as you requested."
Entering his changing room, he saw Griff holding his nose plug for him. "Thanks, Griff. I needed this."
Griff said it was nothing and returned to the bag. The little kwami did wonder how Adrien could be around bird Kwamiis and not have a problem as he did with real birds.
Back in the main pool, Adrien put on his nose plug and did his second take. Thankfully, he didn't sneeze. Instead, the problem was that the birds flew too close and he couldn't see the water until he smacked his body into it.
He painfully exited the pool and needed to sit down for a few minutes. While he was recovering, Bob Roth was talking with Mr. Agreste on the tablet.
"Sorry about that, Gabriel. I'll need to have a word with my bird trainer about controlling his birds better," Roth said as he shot a glaring look off-screen. "So what do you think so far?"
"It's missing something. The birds are not enough to convey the perfume will help women in their romantic lives." The businessman asked Roth to show him the entire pool.
As they turned, he spotted a bouquet of roses, a thank you present, from the pool staff and got an idea. "Those roses are perfect. I want one of the birds to bring my son a rose once the flock has passed. It will convey my message perfectly."
"That won't be a problem. Ramier! Those birds better perform perfectly this time!"
Mr. Ramier saw how upset the birds were. Many of them looked eager to take off and leave their excrement behind. He needed to calm them down and relax.
He looked at Roth pleadingly. "Mr. Roth, my birds are very agitated. If we could do a few practice exercises for their performance, I'm sure it will go perfectly."
Adrien could tell where this was going. Bob Roth was not a patient or sensitive man. The way he was screaming at Mr. Ramier and birds, he knew the next take would be a disaster.
The animals were too frightened to follow commands. As Adrien dived towards the pool, the poor birds flew all over the place, and Edgar, Mr. Raimer's favorite pigeon, was unable to get the rose to him in time.
Mr. Agreste was very disappointed in the performance. "If this is the best you can do Mr. Roth, then I may have to rethink using you as a producer. I'll give you the end of today to prove yourself. Good day."
Bob Roth blew up and took all his anger out on poor Mr. Ramier. It looked like he was about to hit the poor man. Sensing the danger, Edgar led his flock to battle.
They pecked, scratched, and pooped on him. The attack went on for several minutes. Knowing an akuma was going to appear any second, Adrien raced back to the changing room.
"Plagg! We've got a problem!"
Plagg was coming out of a cheese coma as he wobbly floated into the air. "What's up, Adrien? I thought you would be out there longer than what? Fifteen minutes?"
"Something bad just happened. I know Shadowmoth is going to take advantage of it. I don't know who the target is yet."
Behind the door, they could suddenly hear the flapping of wings. Griff stuck his head out of the door. He observed a flock of black pigeons turning the camera crew and Mr. Roth into pigeons.
"I would not advise going out there. There is an entire flock of pigeons out there. If one pecks you, you end up as a pigeon," he explained.
Plagg helpfully reminded Adrien that his allergies always made a mess when dealing with Mr. Pigeon. The teen argued he had a duty to help. Plagg responded by how he expected to help if he was turned into a pigeon two seconds after he left the room.
Griff interrupted. "Shouldn't Adrien transform so he can alert Ladybug to the Akuma's position? Once she's here, I'm sure she'll have a plan for dealing with this."
The other agreed and a few seconds later, Chat Noir was calling for help. "Ladybug, are you okay?"
"I'm okay. I managed to avoid being turned into a pigeon due to Kagami and her father sheltering me from the attack. Have you been able to find Mr. Pigeon?"
"He's here at the pool. I'm trapped in the changing room. I can't leave with all these pigeons flying around."
There was a pause in the conversation. Ladybug sounded like she was talking to someone. She came back about a minute later. "Raah has an idea, but he doesn't think you're going to like it."
His gut clenched as he asked her what the idea was. Raah's voice came through the communicator. "Griff, if you can create a few specks of metal, you could cover the inside of Chat Noir's nose. That way he won't experience an allergic reaction."
Ladybug was right. He didn't like this plan. The griffin kwami was looking slightly disturbed by what his "brother" was asking of him. However, both knew that this was the only way for him to help in the fight.
"Alright, Griff. Do your thing."
Griff beat his little wings stirring up some slivers of metal. Using his paw/hands, he phased them into Adrien's nose and covered up the hairs. The little griffin was thankful that Kwamiis could phase things off their body. He didn't want the model's boogers all over his arms.
As soon as it was done, he headed out to deal with Mr. Pigeon. Griff stayed in the room for about two minutes. Then he got bored and went down a few rooms before peeking out one nearer to the action.
Ladybug had already summoned her Lucky Charm, a drill saw and was busy taking out a circular section from one of the doors.
Chat Noir was covering for her. He was constantly swinging his baton around to cover all sides of his lady. The pigeons kept up their attacks but were no match for Chat Noir's quick reflexes that prevent them from touching the two.
He then saw his brother, Raah, floating cautiously towards the Akuma. Griff realized what the plan was and decided to help.
The bodyguard pigeons had to go. Flying closer, he waved his tail to get their attention. "Hey, idiot birds. What do you call a pigeon who can't find his way home? A roaming pigeon! Want to hear some more jokes?"
Mr. Pigeon got turned around as his bodyguards chased after the imp. About that time Ladybug, finally pulled out the circular section.
Taking a pitching stand, she winded up and hurled the section towards the Akuma's head.
Without his bodyguard to block the attack, the Akuma raised his arm to shield his face. That left the bird whistle exposed. Raah pulled it off the villain before bringing it to Chat Noir, who used his power to destroy the possessed item.
Once things were returned to normal, Ladybug jumped down and helped Mr. Ramier up. "I'm sorry that this happened to you again. I've been trying to figure out a way to prevent you from becoming an Akuma, but have been unsuccessful."
The poor man looked at the ground in despair. He was tired of being akumatized.
Raah hovered next to Ladybug's ear. "There is a way to help the poor man. Even my kind has no idea what we're capable of when we join with a new wielder. It's like the start of a new life for both of us."
Ladybug's eyes lit up. Her power was creation. She could make a new item to help protect people. She just needed a little help.
"Hold on a minute, Mr. Ramier. I want to try something." Ladybug held out her yo-yo and asked Raah for a little help to power it up. The Kwami of Quintessence shook his body.
A few pink sparkles came loose from the underside of his wing shield. The life energy merged with the yo-yo making it light up. Ladybug's outfit changed slightly, as she reached in and pulled out a magic charm.
"This is for you, Mr. Ramier. As long as you wear it, Shadowmoth can never akumatize you again."
"Thank you, Ladybug. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."
Later that night, Marinette was getting ready for bed. Raah was making himself a comfy bed on a small decorative pillow. "Ah, I haven't felt such fabric since my days in Egypt."
"Adrien bought me some Egyptian cotton to work with. I thought Tikki might like a little pillow for herself."
Tikki assured her "cousin" she didn't mind sharing the pillow with him. When guest Kwamiis visited, she always let them have her pillow. She would then sleep next to Marinette.
"Will you be okay sleeping by yourself, Raah?" Marinette asked.
The scarab-like kwami nodded. "I'm very used to it. Except in Egypt, my wielders always had me sleep somewhere far from them. They were worried I would attract dung beetles to their beds."
Marinette looked at the kwami sympathetically. It wasn't a nice thought that past wielders had said such mean things to him. Before she returned him to Master Fu, she would make sure Raah had a good time.
The next day, Marinette woke up to something scratching. Looking up, she was surprised to see her skylight hatch opened. Muttering how early it was, she crawled out to her little balcony.
Raah was standing on the rail watching as the sun rose. He spread out his wing shields letting the first morning rays pass through them. Wiggling his four arms, he bowed towards the sun.
"Yawn. What are you doing Raah?" Marinette asked as she leaned against the railing.
"Greeting my namesake," he replied. Seeing the teenager's confusion, he explained. "When a kwami is born, the universe gives us a name connected to our animal form. I'm named after the Egyptian god of the sun, kings, and order, Ra."
"The god Ra had three forms throughout the day. I represent his first form, Khepri, the scarab beetle. His next form Khnum is his goat-headed form. His last form, Amun-Ra, is human."
Marinette nodded. Adding an extra A and then an H was simpler than trying to make a name out of Khepri. She remembered how Alix once mentioned the scarab represented long life in ancient Egypt. The universe knew the perfect form to match any abstract concept.
The kwami finished his greeting and hopped onto Marinette's shoulder. "Thank you for joining me. I was also hoping I could join you for tonight's training session. I can help coach your teammates during their transformation practice."
Marinette giggled in amusement. "I don't know if they appreciate that. I will need your help carrying enough of the transformation potion for everyone to use. I hope your "cousins" are ready to get very hot tonight."
When night fell, the members of the Miraculous team were doing their best to be patient. Each of them was excited because they would be using the transformation potions for the first time tonight.
King Monkey was trying his best not to explode. "Can you believe it? We're actually going to use power-ups! I can't wait to see what I look like in my swim gear," he told Viperion.
"We don't know if the transformation potion is for water. It could be for ice or space," was Viperion's reply.
"It might even be one we haven't seen yet," Kkachi added in. She was feeling down.
She and Bunnyx couldn't practice transforming with their Kwamiis. Honorra only had five safe transformations left.
For Bunnyx, it was because Fluff was so powerful it wasn't a good idea to practice transformations if something went wrong. No one wanted to be sent to the age of the dinosaurs if Fluff had a bad reaction to the transformation potion.
Everyone straightened up when Ladybug and Chat Noir stepped out of one of the small side rooms. They had been pouring the potions into individual vials for everyone to use.
Chat Noir was holding a bundle of clothing. He walked over to Bunnyx and Kkachi. "Here," he said as he handed each of them a fireproof long sleeve shirt and pants.
"You can put them on while everyone else uses the fire potion to transform."
The girls nodded and headed to the individual rooms to change. While that was happening, Ladybug was handing out the potions and explaining how they worked.
"You all need to spread out and drop your transformations out of sight of one another. Once that's done, your next step will be to feed your kwami the red potion."
"The Kwamiis forms will change slightly, and they'll have a new name. Say that name along with the transformation phrase. You'll then transform into your fire-proof form. Once you've changed, report back to here."
Once everyone was out of the room, Ladybug and Chat Noir dropped their transformations. Each handed their Kwamiis the correct potion. Tikki became Blazing Tikki, her "tail" points were on fire. Plagg transformed into Ember Plagg, as a fiery aura formed around him.
They transformed again into their new forms. For Ladybug, her sleeves and the side of her costume turned black. She gained knee-high black boots with red tips.
The middle part of her costume was a shade darker than her usual red. She had fewer and smaller black spots. Rounding it out was the black fire fighter's helmet on her head.
For Chat Noir, his suit color changed to a lighter shade of black. His belt tail disappeared completely. He had a fireman's jacket covering his suit while his boots and gloves were now a neon green. Completing the look was a neon green firefighter's helmet with holes for his cat ears.
Everyone returned, and all their costumes had a resemblance to firefighting clothes. Some, such as Honey Bee and King Monkey, no longer had their extra appendages. A few of them, such as Street-Rat and Ryuko, had their colors inverted to help them be noticed better.
"This feels weird," Carapace remarked. He tugged at his collar which was a bit tighter than normal.
"This isn't what I expected when I became a fire fox," Rene Rouge said as she looked at her new gloves. They were larger than normal and had a flame design on them.
Fire Ladybug clapped for their attention. She explained to them that new transformations took a little while to get used to. You had to develop the skills to use these new forms sometimes.
An example was when Chat Noir and she had accessed their first transformation. Both knew how to swim, but neither had been scuba diving before. It had taken a great deal of concentration, to figure out how to use their air regulators and flippers properly, while still pursuing their first underwater Akuma.
"This transformation is useful when dealing with large fires or Akumas who are too hot to touch. The thicker clothing keeps you from burning. The helmets will automatically start giving you fresh oxygen when the air is too smoky," she finished.
Chat Noir explained they were going to do three exercises. One, get them used to their new forms by jogging. Two, observing how smoke moved. Third, meditate in front of a candle to figure out how much heat they could handle at a time.
Going to the gym area, the heroes started to jog. It quickly became apparent that the transformation sacrificed speed for defense. Their footwear was heavier, and their movements were restricted slightly.
Sirius was the first one to trip over his own feet. He hit the ground hard. "Ow!" He placed a hand on his cheek and felt the scrape. "So much for protecting my face."
The next one to have trouble was Street-Rat. She was trying to adjust her helmet so it didn't fall in front of her eyes. It fell off causing her to crash into Viperion.
She gave him a sheepish smile. The older boy shook his head and helped her up.
During the second exercise, several candles were lit. The group watched the smoke move between different objects. By watching the smoke, you could see the size of an object.
At least everyone was comfortable with meditating around their candles. Getting used to the heat was much easier when you knew your clothes couldn't catch on fire.
Ladybug and Chat Noir felt the team did well with their first transformation practice.
The next day, Nathalie was up in the lair while Gabriel took care of company business. He had given her back the peacock Miraculous for her to find out what her baseline was.
"Duusu, Fan Spread!" Transforming with a temporary fixed Miraculous felt a lot different than using a broken one.
Mayura no longer had a headache in the back of her head that she had previously. She felt stronger and healthier. She hoped that extend to her powers being stronger.
She chuckled darkly as she pulled her battle fan back. With a menacing smile, she moved forward and sliced the little table that Gabriel kept in the lair in half.
The attack had been effortless. She didn't feel tired or weak. There was a life-size cardboard cutout of the two heroes in the lair. Gabriel had purchased a dozen of them to practice his attacks on.
Grinning, she attacked the cutout viciously. It felt good to slice the heroes' heads off. Occasionally, she would pretend to block objects with her weapon to help build muscle memory.
After completely eradicating the cutout, Mayura was ready to use her powers. First up, was her defensive power. "Regal Shimmer!"
The bright, sparkly, blue light surrounded her. She moved around quickly, maintaining the light around her body. She was able to hold onto the power for about six minutes before it dropped.
She didn't feel as exhausted as she normally did when she tried this move before. Now it was time to use her offensive attack. "Raging Call!" The sonic blue scream totaled another cutout.
Suddenly, she heard a beeping. She looked down and gasped as the Miraculous started the countdown. She was an adult. Why did she have a countdown?
Five minutes later, the transformation dropped. A very tired-looking Duusu emerged. "Food…please."
Nathalie gave the kwami a handful of berries. As soon as she finished eating, Nathalie asked what happened. "I thought only children couldn't handle using their powers repeatedly."
Duusu nodded in agreement. "Ms. Nathalie, you forgot my Miraculous is only partially fixed. I use more energy up with my other master. It is going to affect how much magic I can use before I need to eat."
"I see," Nathalie replied, her lips thinned. This would need to be brought to Gabriel's attention. The peacock miraculous was vital in securing the two Miraculouses he needed to save his wife.
Back in the United States, it was the middle of the night. Ning should have been sleeping. Alas, her brain wouldn't shut off so she went back to work on how long she had until the stranger arrived in Paris.
After leaving Slovakia, three portals opened up in Austria. The first was in the capital Vienna. Surprisingly, it took four days for another portal to appear, this time in the city of Liezen.
Local security videos showed the man walking all over the city. He was seen on five different cameras several times. One video showed him eyeing an upside-down map.
Two days later, there was a sighting of a portal in the Kappl. It was near the border with Switzerland. It appeared the mystery man figured out which direction to head.
Only a day later, two portals opened up on the same day which had never happened before. The first one had appeared in the morning in the city of Glarus. Later in the evening, a portal appeared in the city of Sarnen, over a hundred miles away.
Yesterday, there was a portal sighting in the city of Lausanne. It was a few hundred miles from Geneva. Geneva would be the next location of a portal sighting. The magical concentration in that city was potent.
Overlapping the magic grid and calculating energy levels, factoring in periods of rest and consumption, told her how long before the stranger arrived in Paris.
"Two and half days. I hope Father has prepared adequate defenses. Time to get that private jet ride the French Representative promised me last year."
In Paris, Master Fu was worrying about something. Unfortunately, it was not about the magical stranger closing in on Paris. That had utterly slipped his mind.
"Master Fu, please stop pacing. You'll leave a hole in the floor," Honorra implored. "You wouldn't want to fall through it and end up in China."
Wayzz shook his head at Honorra's attempt at humor. At least she was trying to help. "Old friend, everything will be fine. Marianne will be safe with you. She's only staying for two weeks."
"Two weeks is plenty of time for Shadowmoth to discover she is back in town. If she can't resist him, then I fear what will happen to everyone here, Wayzz."
"The ECMC will be watching out for akumas. If they see any you can count on them to act appropriately," Wayzz pointed out to his wielder. He also reminded him that he could call on the heroes to aid him or Marianne.
The ECMC chose that moment to float in. They had heard the commotion and came to investigate.
"Are you alright, Great Guardian?" Swimmy inquired.
Master Fu assured them that he was fine. He was just a bit concerned that something would happen to his love when she came to visit. One the ECMC, Jaggy, felt that Master Fu was holding back something.
"Master Fu, please be honest with us," she beseeched as she floated in front of him. "We know you haven't been sleeping well. It's starting to affect you adversely."
The other Kwamiis nodded. They all wanted to help their Guardian. Every circle believed he was the kindest and trustworthy Guardian they ever had.
Feeling their gratitude, Master Fu explained what had been plaguing him at night. "I have nightmares every night. The first part of the nightmare is always the same. It's the day the Order fell."
The old man closed his eyes as he recalled that awful day. The burning flesh as his fellow Apprentices died. The Guardians trying to save important relics only to be slaughtered by Feast-like creatures.
The smell of blood and death still haunted him to this day. "That part of the nightmare becomes worse each time I relive it. The second part is what scares me the most."
"Why is that Master?"
Fu took a deep breath and looked at his oldest friend. The man's eyes filled with dread. "Because in the next part, I'm being tortured over and over by Su-Han."
All the Kwamiis gasped. Su-Han was the name of the Celestial Guardian at the time before the fall.
Wayzz was the one who remembered the man the clearest. He trembled as he recalled the night Su-Han had been elevated to the position of Celestial Guardian.
The position of Celestial Guardian was the most important. Leading the Order of the Guardians was a momentous task. It had numerous responsibilities, and the powers granted to the being who took up these responsibilities were a burden.
The Council of Elders would then choose the next leader. When the old Celestial Guardian stepped down, Su-Han had been chosen to take his place.
Any Kwamiis at the temple at the time played an important role in the ceremony. The courtyard would be lined with lanterns, as lively music was played. Everyone in attendance wore their finest robes.
There was a big feast and ceremonial dances performed by the Apprentices. Afterwards, a historian would recite the history of the Order of the Guardians.
Then a list of the achievements of the retiring Celestial Guardian would be read. Then reciting a prayer of hope for the new one.
Then the most important part of the ceremony would begin. On a raised platform, a special circle was drawn with different symbols painted on the cardinal points.
The two Guardians would meet in the center. The retiring Celestial Guardian would recite a spell that returned all his powers and longevity to the leader's staff. The new Celestial Guardian would then take the staff for himself.
The Kwamiis would then take over. Not only would they renew the longevity of the staff's holder, but they would also bless the new Celestial Guardian with a portion of their power to aid them.
Wayzz remembered bestowing Su-Han the power of protection. The man didn't smile or acknowledge Wayzz at all as he formed a connection with him. He didn't even say thank you like previous Celestial Guardians.
Su-Han had been the strictest Celestial Guardian. He wrote many harsh and stifling rules the Order of the Guardian members had to follow. He had no patience with anyone that struggled and loved putting people down.
By the time Fu had arrived, Su-Han had been the Celestial Guardian for nearly sixty years. Fu had been the Celestial Guardian's favorite target. He took absolute delight in putting the young boy down
Only Master Zhu had stood up to him. He was respectful to his leader but let him know that he wouldn't let the man bully him or anyone under his care. In fact, Master Zhu intended to petition the Council of Elders to consider having Su-Han step down for a short time.
Then the temple was attacked, and it became a moot point. Wayzz had always wondered what happened to the Celestial Guardian during the fall. With his powers and the longevity he had gained, he should have survived.
Wayzz was torn out of his musings when Cappri knocked on his head. "Are you okay Wayzz? You zoned out on us."
"Sorry, got lost in the past." He refocused on his friend who was being comforted by Rocco and Flitter. His wielder appeared to relax slightly as the two hugged him.
The others soon joined, and Master Fu started to relax. He knew all the Circles would always protect and care for him.
He believed that he would finally get a good night's sleep. That night, Master Fu slept peacefully for the first time in weeks.
In the city of Lyons, Su-Han was meditating in his small hotel room. A grayish light surrounded his body. Suddenly, the light dimmed before vanishing. Opening his eyes, Su-Han growled.
"I don't know how you're keeping me out of your dreams Chicken Fu but it doesn't matter. Soon you will be feeling my wraith in the waking world!"
