"Hm, a power level of 710. But that's absurd the strongest power level was 350 and even then it belonged to my brother. Wait a minute, no it can't be, the child is emitting energy higher than both the Namekian and Kakarot." Raditz said out loud.
He started walking towards the pod in which Gohan was trapped. "I wonder."
He opened the hatch of the pod to see what the toddler could do. 'Even if he has a high power level it still doesn't match up to mine'. Raditz thought.
As soon as the hatch opened Gohan jumped from the pod and landed on the dirt. He was growling and snarling at Raditz like a feral animal.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" The child screamed in obvious rage.
Gohan's energy skyrocketed as he screamed releasing all the anger he felt towards Raditz. Raditz's scouter started to beep showing Gohan's power level which was rising at a rapid pace. Raditz stared in awe as the digits started to reach his power level. The numbers stopped and the display on his scouter scared the absolute crap out of him.
"Fifteen hundred, tha-that's impossible" Exclaimed Raditz.
All of Gohan's senses were shut down and the only thing he saw was Raditz. Gohan glared at him with ferocity that no 3 year old could ever muster.
Raditz was so shocked that he couldn't react to the hook Gohan connected on his face. Raditz staggered back a bit only to be knocked down by a roundhouse kick on his jaw. Raditz tried to fight back but Gohan had surpassed him by 300 units. He was being tossed around like a ragdoll.
Gohan jumped at Raditz and threw a barrage of punches and kicks. What surprised Raditz most was the fact that he had amazing skill. His strikes were not sloppy but precise and deadly. He was aiming more at joints that were rendering his hands useless, unable to block. He wasn't wasting any of his movement. Gohan ending his assault started charging up a massive blast. Raditz saw this and moved just in time to narrowly avoid the blast that could have very well ended his life. After releasing the blast, all the power that came to Gohan left and he lost consciousness.
Raditz picked his injured self-up and slowly started to make his way towards the toddler.
"A-Amazing! To think someone who shares my blood possesses such power." Raditz said out loud.
He sat down besides the boy before pressing some buttons on his scouter (that miraculously survived the fight he had with Gohan).
"What is it Raditz? Have you completed your mission?" Vegeta asked.
"Um…there have been some complications." Raditz replied. He explained the situation to Vegeta. He looked over to the boy as he waited for Vegeta to respond.
After a while of thinking Vegeta answered. "Kill the half-breed."
Raditz, who was looking at Gohan furrowed his brows and thought about the fight between him and the child. He certainly had potential. If he were to train him then this half-breed might one day surpass Freeza and avenge their race.
"But Vegeta, he almost killed me." Raditz argued "And he has been trained by Kakarot. If we took him in, he might be the one to take our vengeance against Freeza."
Raditz had a soft spot for cubs, this one especially peeked at his interest and he was his own blood. He couldn't just kill his 3 year old nephew.
"Are you refusing my orders Raditz?" Vegeta asked "It seems that you have forgotten who you're talking to?"
Raditz took a deep breath and nervously replied.
"Listen Vegeta, I don't mean to disrespect you but this kid has a power level of 1500. He's stronger than you when you were 5. Think about the potential this boy has."
"Yes, that is exactly why I'm ordering you to kill him now." Vegeta answered. "He could grow up to be a threat to us all."
"Please reconsider this Vegeta." Raditz said "He'll be under my care, so you don't have to worry about him."
There was a moment of silence between the two comrades, which was broken by Vegeta.
"Fine…we don't have a mission for a week or so, since we cleared out Planet Omanis." Vegeta said. "Meet us on Freeza Planet 01."
"Thanks Vegeta." Raditz replied before cutting off the link. He groggily got up cradling Gohan in his arms. He entered his space pod, and put on a healing mask. Due to being a Sayain, his injuries would heal rather quickly. Raditz typed in the co-ordinates of Planet Pluto. The pod carrying both the passengers took off towards the end of this solar system.

After arriving in the atmosphere of the planet the computer beeped and a robotic voice spoke "Prepare for landing."
Raditz braced himself for impact while tightening his grip on the unconscious Gohan. Raditz took off his healing mask that healed almost all of his injuries while also giving him a hefty Zenkai.
The hatch opened and he got out of his pod. Raditz put Gohan down and pushed a button on the side of his pod which miniaturized itself into a rectangular box. He grabbed the small device and kept it in his pocket.
"Wake up nephew." Raditz said as he shook Gohan who started to stir.
"W-where…am I" asked Gohan as he stared at the unfamiliar surroundings. He looked up at Raditz and tried to run away but he grabbed Gohan by the scarf of his neck. Gohan tried to punch and kick trying to get away from Raditz's strong grip but it was futile, since Gohan was still.
"Don't be afraid little cub. I won't hurt you." Assured Raditz but Gohan still didn't believe him. Raditz sat down and placed Gohan on his lap. He curled his tail around the child's, gently stroking it. Gohan relaxed as Raditz did this.
"Um…Mister uh R-Raditz sir, I…I wanna go to my daddy." Gohan spoke nervously. Raditz looked down at Gohan who immediately averted his gaze. Raditz sighs and looks above and stares into space.
"There was once a planet… Planet Vegeta, rich with life, the people living were proud warriors with amazing strength. They thirsted for battle, the blood of their enemy…the mere mention of their name made the universe tremble in fear. Sayains…We crushed everyone we faced and destroyed any planet that opposed us."
As Raditz spoke Gohan listened with fascination, obviously interested in this story.
"But, one day a tyrant King Cold came to that planet and proposed us an offer we couldn't refuse. He gave us a chance to join his army in exchange for wealth, food and most importantly battles with the strongest warriors in the universe. The offer was tempting to say the least, our blood boiled in anticipation, the chance to fight kings, warlords and defense armies of other worlds. We just couldn't refuse and agreed."
"We started purging planets, selling it to an organization called Planet Trade Organization. This continued for many decades. It satisfied our lust of battle and expanded the Cold Empire. The tyrant had two sons who ruled their specific parts of galaxies. The Sayains were in the authority of the younger sibling, Freeza."
"The Sayains being a warrior race were made for battle thus growing stronger after every mission, too strong. Freeza saw this and decided to put an end to all Sayains. He called every Sayain to their planet. The Planet was large approximately the size of this Solar System's sun."
"Hundreds of billions of Sayains came to the planet. It was strange for them but no one suspected anything except one Sayain. His name was Bardock. He was my…father."
"He told my mother Gine, about this. Your father had been born on this very day, I wasn't at the planet, and along with me there were four more Sayains. Nappa, Turles, Hanasia and Vegeta"
Hearing the name of the planet described as a person confused Gohan, but before he could speak Raditz cleared it for him.
"Vegeta is the royal name of Sayains. Only those descended from kings or queens have the privilege of that name. The one I mentioned is the prince. Anyway, my father stole a space pod for Kakarot to escape. He then went to the king's palace and told him about his suspicion. The king got angry at him and told him to get lost. My father knew it was futile to argue with him so instead he took off in space to face Freeza alone."
"He was considered as one of the strongest Sayain with a power level of 22'000. But he was defeated easily. Freeza used a death ball that took him and the rest of the Sayains to the afterlife."
"The planet was destroyed by Freeza but he told us that it was a meteor collision. At the time we believed him but then came to realize that our planet was very large and there was no way some meteor could destroy it. So we vowed to take revenge on Freeza for it."
Raditz was staring at Gohan as he finished his story. "But why are you telling me?" Gohan asked in confusion.
"You have great potential. You can become the Sayain of legend and defeat Freeza."
"But I'm just a kid."
"I will train you nephew. Remember, you won't be doing this just for the Sayain race but for the whole universe."
"But…I-I"
"You don't have a choice."
Gohan sat there thinking. Being away from his family scared him but he had to do this. Freeza would just continue ruling the universe and no-one would be spared. Gohan took a deep breath, he was about to make a decision that will change his life.
"I'll do it…But on one condition. If we manage to beat Freeza then I get to go home again."
"You've got yourself a deal."
Raditz stood up and took of his armor. He reached his hand in his pocket and took out a rectangular box. He placed it on the ground and it expanded in size. It looked like a metal box with a lid. He opened the lid and took out two armor tops and one spandex. He wore the armor and gave the rest to Gohan telling him to change. Gohan went behind a rock and changed into the full body black spandex. He came back with the armor in his hand.
"How do you put this thing on." Gohan asked.
"You slide it over your head. It'll adjust to your size." Raditz answered.
Gohan stretched the armor to test it and then slid it over. He checked himself out. He didn't look so bad. Raditz turned his head towards Gohan. "Are you ready to train nephew." To which Gohan nodded. "This is going to be extremely hard."
"Do you have any prior training?" Raditz asked
"My dad has been training me since I started to walk." Gohan answered. "My mom would be pretty mad whenever we came home late."
Raditz smirked "Well then, we should skip the basics and get into the real stuff." Raditz said as he got into a stance. Gohan did the same before they lunged at each other.
DBZ
Gohan panted as he sat next to Raditz. His eye was swollen shut, blood dripped from his lips. He was covered in bruises. His armor was completely obliterated and most of his spandex had been torn.
"You're really strong" Gohan said "I only got in a few blows but you beat me with ease."
"We get stronger after every injury." Raditz told him with a smirk "The harsher the wounds are the bigger the Zenkai. You didn't heal from the previous fight and I did, so I had the advantage."
Raditz had a few scratches and cuts but nothing serious. He took out two pod capsules and placed them on the ground. They expanded to their original size. "Let's get going, we need to meet our comrades on another planet." Raditz told the child who got up groaning in pain. He approached Raditz and sat in the space pod. Raditz taught him the basics. He put a healing mask on the child's face and activated the sleeping gas.
He entered his space pod, typed in the co-ordinates and took off. Gohan's ship was linked with his so they would stay together.
DBZ
1 day later, the two space pods were approaching a planet. They landed on a red platform and got out. Gohan saw his surroundings and looked over at Raditz. Their eyes met and Raditz turned around towards him. They walked away from the platform and Raditz checked the half-breed's power level. "Twenty five hundred." he muttered to himself "He's stronger than me."
Raditz motioned Gohan to come closer. "Listen nephew, the person you are about to meet is the Sayain Prince. I want you to act like a Sayain and look tough. Only then he will approve you. Plus, the other soldiers will pick up your superiority and despite your size, they'll back off." Raditz told Gohan.
The toddler straightened his posture. He furrowed his brows and walked with a new found confidence. Gohan followed Raditz into the white building.
As they entered, there were met by many aliens of different shapes, sizes and colour. They all stepped aside when Raditz walked through the hall but frowned when they saw a little child. Gohan coiled his tail around his waist copying Raditz. The older Sayain had informed him about the weakness. Raditz explained how Gohan should greet Vegeta.
They kept walking until a black door appeared. Raditz placed his hand on a sensor and the door opened. As they walked in the room, 5 Sayains looked towards them. Raditz stepped to his side to show Gohan who held the face of a warrior and the attitude of a Sayain. Gohan locked his eyes with a short but intimidating figure that glared back. The two exchanged words.
"Prince Vegeta"
"Kakabrat"
