Today was a tense day. The group stared through the recently set up one way glass. The changes made to their friends, practically their family, were just wrong and unnatural. The strange organs that now lined their arms, the ways their bodies moved in their sleep was stiff and uncanny, and the lack of warmth in their eyes just haunted them.
"Is there really only one way to fix them?" Jirou asked. "Sadly yes, there's too many issues and risks that would come with any other method." Izuku responded. "Even Eri?" Shuichi asked, glancing between the two forms of his friends.
"Especially Eri. The best she's even done is rewinding an injury from an hour or two ago, not undoing drastic genetic alteration that occurred over a two week period. Plus I don't want her to see Sero and Kaminari like this, she'd be haunted for the rest of her life." Izuku explained.
The others just nodded as Izuku stepped away and the blinds were lowered over the glass.
Izuku sighed deeply as he entered the room. He could feel Afo reacting with greed. the feeling that all those Quirks gave off, the amalgamation of such powers made Afo drool. He had to calm himself, resist the drive that would come from just taking them all at once.
But that isn't why he's here. It's a long road ahead of him, undoing whatever damage had been done to Denki and Sero. He let the feeling of Afo extend past his fingers and seep into the two boys.
Next came a flood of Quirks, so many seeming as random while others purposeful. He could feel the purpose that each Quirk held.
So, like a surgeon, he began to delicately search through the mass of Quirks and remove them in correct order.
The echo of a fists clashing against flesh resounded throughout the alleyway. Ground Zero was acting with far greater brutality than usual. Far more crooks had been popping up with broken bones and knocked out teeth. There was a growing concern that civilians may soon be at risk from one of the vigilante's attacks.
Eraserhead grunted as she landed near the latest sight of Ground Zeroes more aggressive night patrols.
She approached the scene, carefully watching as Ground Zero slammed one of the crooks into a dumpster. The metal frame was dented from the force of the impact. The crook was out cold in an instant. Ground Zero just moved on to the next crook, his fists cracking against one another as he moved closer to her.
"I think that's enough." Eraserhead spoke up. Ground Zero just turned to her as the crook cowered. "And what are you gonna do about it? These shitheads have been running trigger and I'm not interested in mercy." Ground Zero shot back.
"You don't have to be that brutal with them." Eraserhead shot back. The police were already on their way and she knew Ground Zero would fight his way through them if they tried to stop him. "You should just leave and let me take them in." Eraserhead said to him.
Ground Zero just starred at her, his eyes may have been hidden by the goggles, but his hateful glare was clear as day for her. He let out a huff, dropping the crooks he held in his hands. "Fine, don't think this means we're allies. I'm just doing this because I know the cops are coming." Ground Zero responded.
His Gauntlets flared to life and blasted him from the alley to the rooftops. Soon the only visage of him was the flashing lights of his Gauntlets firing off. Eraserhead sighed as she withdrew restraints from her suit and began tying up the crooks.
Ochako and Mina made their way through the hideout. The air had been tense ever since the rescue mission and it was having a noticable effect on the two young girls living in the hideout, Eri and Emi. So the two UA students planned to cheer up the girls.
They were currently walking through one of the deeper areas of the Hideout, the area which both Kai and Tokoyami had turned into living quarters. Many doors remained locked or rooms a state of disrepair, which made it easier to find out which room the girls were in.
They stopped upon finding a door with unicorns and various birds decorating its front. Ochako put on a smile before knocking while Mina put her ear to the door. "Who is it?" A muffled voice called out. "Its Ochako and Mina, are you both here cause we have something for you guys." Ochako responded.
They heard the sound of small footsteps before the stopping just behind the door. "Come in" the voice was much clearer this time. Ochako opened the door, revealing both Eri and Emi alongside a collection of toys. "What do you have?" Eri asked timidly. Emi just nodded while Dark Shadow tilted its head in curiosity.
Mina retrieved a container from her bag and opened it, the aroma of its contents filled the air. A baker's dozen of cupcakes were brought out, and the two girls instantly shifted to them.
"Things have been pretty tense recently, so we decided to get you girls something to take your mind off of it." Mina explained. "What flavor are they?" Emi asked while Dark Shadow moved to inspect them. The Quirk gave an inquisitive sniff. "They're vanilla cupcakes-" "With an apple flavored icing." Mina began only for Dark Shadow to interupt her.
The girls let out a small cheer as Mina gave them the container. Both girls took out one of the cupcakes as Dark Shadow took one for themself. They gave their thanks while the two UA girls left the room.
They had true smiles on their faces as they made their way to the rest of the hideout. three other containers still in their bags, each with their own sets of treats.
Izuku let out a sigh as he finished removing the third set of Quirks from Denki and Sero. They were already starting to resemble their old selfs, a good third of the mutations having dissapeared from all his hard work.
Of course there would be one other issue. Even if he removed all their Quirks, there's no telling just how they'll act. Between the mental manipulation and hypnotic procedures used on them; the two of them may just resume their path of destruction the moment they wake up for all he knew.
He relaxed for a moment as the feeling of the new Quirks swimming through Afo finally subsided. He let his hands run through his now unrestrained hair before taking in a deep breath. It was almost quiet in the room, the only sounds being the gentle hum of monitors and the rhythmic breathing of its three occupants.
Until the sound of a shifting mattress caught Midoriya's attention. He cautiously turned his gaze to the other occupants of the room, his eyes hardening in an instant. He waited patiently for something to happen, yet nothing happened.
He prepared himself for whatever may happen. He let various Quirks flare to life in defense. Little ease was with him, yet he refused to let himself succumb to panic.
Only for Denki to suddenly open his eyes.
Izuku stumbled back as Denki began speaking. "Mido... Bro... Where... am... I...?" he spoke. Izuku's mind began racing, trying to reach any logical conclusion as to how Denki was awake.
'The Quirks, the various chemicals, how...?'
"Hey... Midoriya.. what happened to us?"
'Maybe its the electricity from the various other Quirks?'
"Dude.. Please answer me... Your starting to scare me."
The two could only stare into one another's eyes; one who's mind was running at a hundred miles an hour to find a desired conslusion, the other seemingly lost about his surroundings.
