Sakuno couldn't wait for tonight. It was not only finally time to show her sister how much better she had gotten but to finally play against her rather than coaching her. All a sudden her body no longer felt sore and she no longer felt tired nor sleepy. Taking a quick glance at her clock, she started to change into her proper gear. Taking out her clean white tennis skirt and matching white and pink shirt she placed them on her bed. She then headed towards her closet and retrieved the light pink Nike windbreaker. Upon changing she grabbed her tennis bag and tied her hair up into a sleek ponytail. Sakuno then took a quick glance making sure she did not forget anything. "Ah, I'll drop off Ryoma's Jacket after the game." She thought, grabbing a small brown bag in which the precious article of clothing resided. Opening the door as quietly as she could, Sakuno snuck out of her room and headed towards the gym to retrieve spare racquets. "Mori-Senpai wouldn't mind right?" She thought as she retrieved some weights and an extra weighted racquet. Next stop was the outdoor courts, where she would be facing her very own sister. Jolts of excitement burst through her nerves of the thought of playing against her sister.
"Kon'nichiwa, Sakuno." A tall figure in front of her greeted.
"Kon'nichiwa Nee-Chan!" Sakuno beamed as the lights turned on in the courts. The two girls then began their own warm ups and it was decided to start the game in 30 minutes. Taking a look at her phone Sakura noticed two things. One it was almost 9pm and two, Kazuya had messaged her.
'Are you going to watch me tonight?' He simply asked.
'I thought I told you I'm playing with Sakuno-Chan tonight.' She replied to him.
'But what about ME?' Sakura sighed. "I thought my boyfriend was cool, calm, and mature…"
'Hai, Hai. Gambatte!' she replied.
"Eh? Even Kazuya-Nii-Chan can be as childish as you." Sakuno said, looking over her sister's shoulder.
"EHH? W-When d-did you get here?" The older Ryuzaki stuttered turning red. The younger Ryuzaki laughed at her older sister's reaction.
"Hey! You would react the same way if it were your Ryoma-kun~~" Sakura teased, earning a tomato red Sakuno.
"N-No! Agh, let's just start." Sakuno demanded looking away to hide her red face.
"Eh? Weights? Really?" Sakura complained to Sakuno while eyeing the weights on her wrists and ankles.
"Just for the first game." Sakuno begged in which Sakura just nodded while she put on her own set of weights. The two girls smiled at one another as a tennis racquet spun.
"Rough." Sakuno declared. As the Racquet fell down and first serve was given to the younger Ryuzaki.
"Losers have to tell their crush they like them!" Sakura said getting in her receiving position.
"That's not fair! You're already dating yours. Losers have to tell Obaa-chan that she can't walk around in a bikini anymore." Sakuno replied, getting ready to serve.
"Fine."
Out on Court 7
From the outside no one would have known how happy Kazuya had been upon opening his messaging app on his phone after a light *ding* was heard. Outside he had a straight face, no smile, no joy, and no sense of happiness at all, just a blank face. However inside there was a little bunny rabbit hopping around with a basket tossing out flowers and dancing in circles. He then stood up from his crouching position to look down the rows of tennis courts left and right in hopes to spot another court lit up. "Heh, court 10. I see." He muttered.
"Ne, senpai let's start." A cocky voice interrupted Kazuya's thoughts. Echizen Ryoma was standing on the other side of the net, red racquet in hand and the other hand in his pocket. Kazuya sighed at the arrogance in his opponent and at the same time, felt a sort of similarity to himself. The two performed the mundane tasks of deciding serves and it was not long till the match started.
The first game was quite uneventful with the two players testing one another on various skills. Rallies were long and panned out to be quite tedious. In the end Kazuya had won the set.
"1-0 Tokugawa." Kazuya announced. The two southpaw players took a break on the bench and consumed some water. The two had agreed on a best of three since they still had training tomorrow and were supposed to be resting. The next set started and it was Ryoma's serve. He started out with his signature "twist serve" which was easily predicted by Kazuya earning a smirk from the tennis prince across the court.
"15-love." Kazuya noted and grabbed another ball from his pockets. "If the kid was going to do a signature serve, I should do it as well." He thought as his black racquet made contact with the falling neon ball.
Ryoma's eyes widened at the sight of Kazuya's serve. The ball flashed right and left, in and out of his vision. There was no way he could react in time to properly receive it.
*pok* The ball had hit the outer wall and was now rolling on the red outer area.
"30-love" Kazuya simply remarked at the shocked boy. Who had recovered enough to let out an arrogant "che". "Ne senpai, what's that serve called?" He remarked, regaining his composure. "Rainbow serve." Was all the older black and blue haired boy could say as he began to serve once more. It was a simple, hard and deep serve to the right side of Ryoma's court. A rally was then born but was quickly terminated upon Ryoma's "Drive-B". In the end the second set was won by Ryoma as he smirked and pointed his racquet.
"Mada mada dane."
-Time Skip-
"Game, set, match: Tokugawa. Two games to one." Kazuya declared after using "Destruction" to finish off the game. Kazuya looked to his opponent who was laying on the ground with his limbs sprawled all over the place, panting heavily due to all the running Kazuya had forced him to do.
"I hope you find your track jacket soon." Ryoma heard his opponent say as he offered his hand. Taking his hand and hoisting himself up onto his feet.
"Che, tell the wind to give it back." Ryoma replied.
"You'll probably get it back tonight." Kazuya said to the boy while looking at another court with its lights lit up.
"Whatever." The amber eyed boy replied while walking away pulling down his white cap. "Ja! Senpai"
*ding* Kazuya's phone went off as a message popped up: 'You win?' it asked. He gave a small smile and quickly typed in a reply. 'Mochiron'. He happily began packing up to head to the next destination. Court 10.
Ryoma on the other hand had managed to memorize all the locations of the vending machine selling grape ponta. Putting in some coins and pressing the button, he reflected back on the recent game. It pissed him off to lose yet it fueled so much more than just anger. Determination, and the hunger to beat Tokugawa Kazuya. Now he had three people he desperately needed to beat. He then grabbed the ponta and headed back to the courts. It wouldn't hurt to practice a bit more, it was only 10pm anyways, what else was he going to do anyways? Walking out back towards the courts he saw that there was still a court with lights turned on. Hoping that no one was there he walked towards it only to be disappointed when he noticed a tall figure with dark blue hair walking in front of him in the same direction. "Maybe he's practicing." Ryoma thought and he decided to follow in curiosity.
Upon reaching the court he was so wrong. The sound of light grunts and a tennis ball were welcomed into his ears. His eyes then scanned the two players. Two girls around the same height were rallying out on the court, sweat was rolling from their foreheads. One girl was clad in a white and pink female tennis outfit and a black racquet. The other was in a black and red outfit and was also holding a black racquet. The girl in white hit a drive shot which scored her a point. I was amazed at the power and accuracy in that shot.
"Ne, that's new." The other girl said as she regained her posture from shock.
"Mochiron, it's been awhile since we've played. Samurai no saigo no iki is new to you." The girl in white replied as she geared up to serve. It was a decent serve until she got returned aced by a drive shot straight to the far left corner of the girl in white's court.
"Not bad." A voice beside Ryoma mumbled. Kazuya was quite amazed at the two Ryuzakis' game, even more so that they were using the weighted racquets. Ryoma glanced at his senior who seemed to know the girls, his amber eyes furrowing a bit. "Strange, this was a boys camp though…" Ryoma thought.
"Game, set, match: ME! Three games to two" The girl in black cheered as the girl in white laughed. Kazuya walked up to the two girls and Ryoma followed in suit, curious to who these two people were.
Court 10 8:30 pm
"Dragon's rage!" Sakura cried aloud while returning a lob from Sakuno. Sakuno ran towards the ball and got her racquet on it, however it was way too heavy for her and her racquet flew out of her hands.
"Mou, even Obaa-chan never used that on me." She sighed and picked up her racquet.
"Hah! But I am not Obaa-chan." Sakura replied proudly. Sakura took over the training form her grandmother taking in most of the Dragon techniques while Sakuno conjured her own since she did not have as much power as the two ladies.
"15-all" Sakuno said as she waited for her sister to serve. "Please not Yamata no Orochi." Sakuno prayed as she stood on the receiving end. Yamata no Orochi was a type of serve in which it gave the illusion similar to that of the wind dragon. 8 balls all flying at very high speeds just like the wind.
Sakura smirked as she saw her younger sister intensely staring at her. "It is time" she thought as she threw out Sakuno's worst nightmare. Yamata no Orochi.
"30-15" Sakura said as she scored an ace on her younger sister. Sakura then served another and Sakuno stumbled and weakly returned it. It had barely made it over the net which scored Sakuno a return ace. "Lucky!" Sakuno cheered, but was not quite satisfied since that was mostly luck and not her skills.
Sakuno then grabbed a ball from her pocket and got ready to serve. "If Nee-chan is going to throw those annoying Dragon techniques I'll just do the same." She hit the ball just where she wanted and it flew over, where it landed in front of Sakura and twisted upwards.
"Eh? Kazuya's kiddo's serve?" Sakura questioned as she dodged the ball and returned it back to the otherside of the court.
"All that cheering did pay off then, huh? Im-o-to." Sakura taunted.
"Ne, you sound like Kazuya-nii-chan right now." Sakuno said as she ran towards the ball. Her return was perfect. Straight over the net and then suddenly stopping to twirl around in a drop.
"Sakura tsuisuto doroppu" She mumbled, smiling at her sister.
"30-all" Sakura sighed, picking up the ball and tossing it aside.
-Time Skip-
The two girls were sweating hard. Their shirts were soaked and the weighted racquets felt like the worst idea either one of them had come up with.
"Game, set Match: ME! Three games to two." Sakura cheered, pumping her fists in the air. Sakuno just laughed at her sister's excitement. "Ah I'm still so mada mada dane." She sighed in her mind. The two then walked towards the bench and collapsed onto the ground.
"Eh? Kazuya-kun?" Sakura said as she saw two figures approach them. Kazuya was quite happy when he arrived to see his girlfriend drinking water and on the ground panting. Ryoma on the other hand could not fathom what he saw.
"Ryuzaki?" He asked, looking at the girl in all black.
"Hai? Do I know you?" Sakura responded by feigning innocence to the poor boy who looked like a raccoon who tried to wash cotton candy. Kazuya on the other hand was not so welcoming.
"Which one?" He replied. Now Ryoma was extra confused. "What the heck does he mean which one? There's two Ryuzakis, Sensei and Sakuno. This girl was obviously not the old hag."
"A-ano, R-Ryoma-kun?" A quiet voice questioned from the left of him. He turned towards her and saw the same exact girl who was just talking to him, just in white and a tad smaller. He turned back to the girl in black and asked "Ne, Ryuzaki-sensei why do you look so young?".
Kazuya was beyond amazed at this kid's denseness. First he called him too old for Sakura, now he thought that Sakura was Ryuzaki-sensei? He fumed on the inside but kept his cool on the outside. Sakura, however, bursted into laughter upon seeing her boyfriend's face.
"HAHAHAHA! I'm not as scary as Obaa-chan I swear!" Sakuno looked at her sister, who was laughing at Kazuya's reaction. "He literally looks the same…" Sakuno thought.
"Nee-chan/Sakura, you're weird." Both Sakuno and Kazuya said to the laughing girl. Ryoma was still looking back and forth between the two girls and then like Athena had thrown her spear into his brain it clicked. The girl on the left was Sakuno Ryuzaki and the girl on the right was just a crazy maniac. He turned to Sakuno and simply asked "Who's this crazy lady, Ryuzaki?" But that was not the only question that was in his mind. The one that he really wanted to ask was "Why are you with Kazuya-senpai?" "But not in front of this crazy lady" He quickly thought.
