Notes: Hi. So this is a mirror story to my fic, 'Conversation verses Convention' which I will never post here, due to it's more to the number of adult situations it contains. However, if you want to go looking for it on A.O 3, I won't stop you.

Disclaimers: I don't own Jungle Cruise or any of the characters. I'm just borrowing them for a non-profit bit of entertainment.

When three people occupy the same quarters, someone will inevitably see something that they do not wish to see. Particularly when two of the three were involved in a relationship of a more romantic and... physical nature.

The first time had been when they were back in London. Frank had not only come back with them (more accurately, Lily) but had also moved into their house. MacGregor saw the way his sister and Frank looked at each other. It was plain to see that if something hadn't already happened between them, it would certainly happen soon.

But since Frank hadn't said anything to the contrary when MacGregor made up the guest room, MacGregor had assumed that Frank was still sleeping alone.

Thus, it didn't occur to MacGregor to knock, the next morning when he came to wake Frank so they could go clothes shopping. He only caught a glimpse of the two of them lying in bed, kissing and naked (he assumed as they were covered in a sheet from the waist down.)

"Oh my god!" MacGregor beat a hasty retreat from the room.

"This isn't what it looks like," MacGregor heard Lily call from the other side of the door. He heard a very large thump followed by Frank bellowing out, "OW!"

He heard more scuffling about and then Lily flew into the hall just as MacGregor was about to head for the kitchen and pretend he'd been there all morning.

Lily had on her sleeping gown and a robe, her hair resembling a golden bird's nest as she rushed towards her brother and grabbed his arm. Her cheeks were ten shades of red and she avoided all eye contact. MacGregor knew that was 'Lily body language' for embarrassed. "So... That is... Well... I don't know... How much you saw... But... We were just-"

"Stop... Lily... Are you happy?" his sister didn't speak only looked at him with a small shy smile on her face as she nodded her head.

"Then nothing else matters." MacGregor walked down the hall headed for the stairs. Lily watched him leave. Just as MacGregor's foot touched the first step and Lily headed back through the doorway MacGregor rounded the banister. "Oh, and you don't need to wait until I'm asleep next time to sneak into the man's room. Better yet, just move him into yours."

After that MacGregor never saw Frank in the guest bedroom again.

The second had been at dinner, a few nights later.

Lily had been busy adjusting to her new job as a professor as well as getting MacGregor set up as her assistant and studying the petal. Meanwhile, Frank had been 'settling in.' Including buying clothes, learning the best places to walk Proxima and figuring out how to use all the fancy new devices that hadn't been around four hundred years ago or in the jungle.

His personal favorite had been the gas stove. The first time using it had only resulted in a small fire.

But he got the hang of it quickly and had decided to make dinner.

Lily and MacGregor preferred to eat their meals at a small dinner table. They didn't entertain much and it had been just the two of them for some time. MacGregor and Lily had sat across from each other as they usually did while Frank sat next to Lily... and had been slowly moving his chair closer to her since the meal began.

"Mmmmm... Mmmm! Frank this is so good!" Lily placed a hand to her mouth as she continued to chew. She swallowed and licked her lips.

Frank gave her one of his toothy grins. "Here, try some of the cauliflower." MacGregor watched as Frank stabbed a piece of the vegetable on his plate and proceeded to hold his fork out over Lily's lips. His sister then gave him a somewhat heated look as she opened her mouth and bit the food off of the fork, teeth glistening in the candlelight.

"Ohhh... Mmm." MacGregor's eyes snapped back to his meal.

He'd also become aware of the two of them holding hands under the table, if he had to guess, somewhere near Frank's knee. 'Please let be the man's knee and not higher.'

MacGregor had a bite of his mashed potatoes. They were quite good. He looked up to compliment Frank on his cooking only to see Lily licking her spoon rather... slowly ... while staring at Frank who was watching her, the heat in his eyes growing by the minute.

MacGregor very loudly cleared his throat resulting in both Frank and Lily turning to look at him with slightly embarrassed faces. ' Yes, both of you. I'm sitting right here. '

MacGregor sighed and stood up. "Right then. If you'll excuse me, I'm going out to dinner."

Lily shook her head, pulling her hand away from Frank's. "MacGregor, you don't have to go. Please we'll behave."

"No no. It's quite alright. First blush and all that." MacGregor set down his napkin and pushed in his chair. "Besides, I might just go to a club or two after."

The next morning when he returned, he and Lily worked out a schedule where he would go out to dinner on Wednesdays and Saturdays leaving the two of them alone. MacGregor had also insisted that he be left a meal in his room for the next week or two to give the new couple some 'privacy'.

The third time had been a few weeks after when MacGregor had come to get Lily out of her office to have some lunch.

Her paper on the 'Tears of the Moon' had just been published and now that she was a full professor and MacGregor her secretary as well as assistant, she had been busier than ever, particularly with the class of female students she was teaching botany to.

While it may have only been an intro class, it meant she had to grade papers and make lesson plans in addition to everything else she was working on. But Lily being Lily... She was determined to inspire and assist the next generation of women in science and threw herself as wholeheartedly into the work as she would any adventure.

This resulted in her frequently forgetting lunch or any kind of break so MacGregor, being a dutiful assistant and brother, had taken it upon himself to make sure she got some food and fresh air occasionally.

He wasn't the only one with such a plan.

MacGregor knocked on the door to Lily's office before opening it... Or trying to as the door was locked.

"Lily, are you in there? I brought lunch." MacGregor knocked on the door again. He thought he heard movement from the other side and pressed his ear against the door. Within moments he heard a large thump as though something had hit a wall followed by the sound of something crashing to the floor.

What if something had fallen on Lily? MacGregor became worried and again tried to turn the knob with no success.

"LILY!" MacGregor shouted through the door as he pounded on it furiously this time. "Are you alright? Open the door!" He was going to break it down if she didn't answer. She could very well be trapped under her bookcase in there and he couldn't waste time looking for a key.

"I heard something fall. Say something, please!"

"I'm alright." When he heard his sister's voice, he breathed a sigh of relief. Lily was okay.

"Don't come in." MacGregor noted that she sounded a little odd. It was as if she was out of breath.

What on earth are you doing there?" MacGregor shook the doorknob again and this time it turned the other way. However, he wasn't the one that opened it.

With the door no longer preventing entry MacGregor looked where he expected Lily to be. Instead, what he saw was Frank's chest. His eyes trailed up to the other man and along the way, noted that Frank's tie was loose and his collar was askew.

'Oh!'

"Excuse me." Frank smiled politely as he pointed to indicate he was trying to get past the smaller man.

"Oh. Of course!" MacGregor stepped aside and Frank took one step before MacGregor called back. "Oh, by the way... Your collar." MacGregor touched his own collar to mime that it wasn't straight.

Blushing, Frank straightened his collar. The bigger man turned back around and took one more step before MacGregor spoke again. "And your tie."

Frank nodded straightening his tie and letting out a little cough.

MacGregor walked into the room, smirking at his big sister. She was sitting at her desk, lunch pail opened in front of her, papers put neatly aside. "Oh, hello MacGregor. Frank was just bringing me lunch as you can see."

She smiled and batted her eyes, looking every bit a proper lady except for a few small details. "Your hair is loose on one side." Lily's hands immediately went to her head. "And you missed a button on your dress."

Frank made sure to call MacGregor after that if he was going to bring Lily lunch - to avoid any future mix-ups.

The fourth time had been over a month later on a hot summer night. Because there hadn't been any incidents in a while, MacGregor had gotten somewhat remised about his sister and Frank's amorous activities. He had woken in the middle of the night, hot and sweaty wanting a cold drink from the refrigerator.

He'd gone down the stairs, turned down the hall and passed the parlor where he caught a glimpse of Lily and Frank as he headed to the kitchen. MacGregor yawned as he walked about five steps before his brain caught up to his eyes and he parsed what he'd seen.

Lily. Lily and Frank were awake. Lily was laying on the couch. Lily and Frank were kissing. Frank's hand was up Lily's nightgown...

MacGregor turned around, fully intend on telling them to use their perfectly good room, but when he looked in, all he saw was Lily sitting on the couch sipping water with ice. "Oh, hello MacGregor. Couldn't sleep, love?"

MacGregor frowned. "Where's Frank?"

"Frank's asleep, upstairs. I didn't want to wake him. Are you going to get a cold drink as well?" Lily lifted her glass and took another sip. "We can sit for a while."

MacGregor looked around the room suspiciously for another moment before nodding. "I'll just get some milk then."

MacGregor continued on his original path to the kitchen and the refrigerator. Just as he'd poured a glass, he heard the telltale 'creak' of the third step from the bottom of the stairs. He walked back to the parlor where Lily still sitting prim and proper.

MacGregor shook his head. Someone had just tiptoed their way back upstairs.

The fifth time had been just over about a month later. Now that Frank was better at driving, he was absolutely obsessed with Lily's car. Cars in general really. He wouldn't put down the current issue of Autocar that Lily had bought him.

MacGregor had attempted to make toast only to discover the last piece of bread was gone. Unsurprising, since Frank had an appetite to match the man's size. Their food budget had increased to reflect Frank's eating habits.

MacGregor resigned himself to a hard-boiled egg and some coffee before setting out to get groceries.

It was a beautiful day and the city was just starting to come to life. He passed by several shops including a jewelry store that was selling the newly popular wristwatch. Even though they'd been around for a while the new models looked much nicer and very enticing. He'd have to save a few weeks' wages and get one for himself.

There were also the new stainless-steel utensils. They weren't as nice as the silver he and Lily had but they seemed much easier to clean. He'd have to discuss with Lily if it were something she might be interested in.

Just as he was about to reach the grocer, he noticed the motion picture theater was putting up a new marquee. That meant a new show had come out. MacGregor knew his sister had been meaning to take Frank to see a moving picture but she'd been so busy lately she didn't even have time to go into town and get tickets. MacGregor crossed the street and bought three seats for the evening show.

He then went to get the weekly groceries (which he had to use both hands to carry) and set off for home. The walk was a bit arduous with all the extra weight and he'd almost dropped the bags twice but managed to make it back and inside.

"Lily? Frank? I brought the groceries. Can you help?" No sign of either of them.

Perhaps they had gone on another driving lesson? MacGregor put away the perishable items before heading to the garage to see if the car was there. The door to the garage was shut, which usually meant the car was still in it. But sometimes Frank got out and shut the door behind them. Besides, they might still be in the garage, working.

MacGregor shook his head wondering if Frank had finally convinced Lily to let him tinker with her car. He swung the door open wide and...

There, in the back seat, in full flagrante delicto was his sister, arms wrapped around Frank, cheeks flushed and panting. The wheels of the car were bouncing rhythmically and Frank was sucking on one of his sister's-

Nope... Not looking at that.

MacGregor spun around. "Honestly! You two! I was only gone an hour!"

He stomped back into the house. The door to the garage was left wide open but, at the moment, he couldn't care less. If they had no problem showing off for him, then they should have no problem showing off for anyone walking by.

He marched back into the house and put the groceries away forcefully.

Perhaps he should have shut the garage gate on them at a minimum, but this was getting rather irritating. Sighing, he forced himself to calm down. He thought of the last real boyfriend he'd had almost two years ago. Eddie. Lily had caught the two of them together on a few occasions.

But Eddie had died not even a few months into the war. MacGregor didn't even get to morn him publicly.

New love was always full of such promise and hope. So fearless and spontaneous even as every step into the emotion made one feel lost and uncertain. Yet still carrying forward face first and full force into the darkness ahead, armed with only the one beside you.

Though he knew the newness between them wouldn't last, he hoped the love they found would never end.

What he wouldn't give to feel that way again. Even if just for a night.

He remembered, then, he had the tickets in his back pocket. Tickets for three. Maybe he should just leave two on the counter and rip his up.

As he was deciding, Lily appeared in the doorway to the kitchen. Her clothes were as straight as he guessed they could be given her previous activities. "I'm sorry. I suppose we got a little careless."

"It's not you. Well, it was a little bit. I'm a little jealous I suppose. I wish I had someone I could be that careless with." Lily smiled at him and squeezed his shoulder.

Just then, Lily noticed the tickets in his hand. "Oh! Is that the new moving picture?"

"Hm? Oh! Yes well..." He pulled two of the tickets from the three and handed them to her. "You two go have a lovely time."

Macgregor reached for the trash intend on throwing out the remaining ticket but Lily grabbed it from him. "Nonsense. We're all going and that's that."

Lily smiled and headed upstairs to fix her clothes.

Lily drove them to the theater after having Frank thoroughly clean the back seat. MacGregor sat next to her and Frank in the back. She and Frank had talked and decided to keep some distance until after they got home and were safely nestled in bed for the night.

Lily had realized she'd been neglectful of her little brother. She needed to make more time for him. They both did. At least for now, they needed to keep their bedroom activities in the bedroom.

So, Frank held the door while Lily went in first and MacGregor second. In the line to get into the seating area, she kept MacGregor between her and Frank and when they sat down, MacGregor was in the middle.

Lily asked MacGregor if he'd read the playbill for this picture but avoided talking to Frank. It felt odd and a little wrong somehow. As though they were trying to avoid each other. She wanted to hold Frank's hand and see his face while he watched the action happen as if they were really there.

But then, she'd remembered the last time they'd held hands and had to rush home from their walk because he kept doing this thing with his thumb that sent jolts along her nerves. This was safer.

Then almost out of nowhere, MacGregor stood up. "I'm going get popcorn. Please talk to each other. If you two can't make it work, what hope do I have."

With that, he stepped past Lily and exited the theater.

Lily bit the nail of her thumb. Frank coughed. Perhaps this was a bit too restrained. They didn't need to avoid each other.

Lily looked at Frank. Frank looked at Lily. Lily moved to the seat next to him. Frank held her hand with a squeeze.

They sat like that for a moment more. Again, Lily thought of the last time they held hands and laughed to herself. "Don't' do that thing with your thumb."

Frank grinned. "Okay."

The lights dimmed and everyone around them grew quiet. The show was about to start. Lily looked to the back of the theater. MacGregor still wasn't back yet.

She turned to Frank worriedly he only nodded his head. "We should go find him."

"I think we have to apologize again."

Both of them left the theater and started searching for MacGregor. There was no sign of him or anyone at the popcorn vendor. He hadn't left the building, near as they could tell, and he wasn't in the washroom.

Frank suggested checking some of the storage rooms in case MacGregor was intentionally hiding from them. They checked a closet. Nothing. Another closest; no MacGregor. They tried a storage area and Lily there in the darkened room she could make out her brother's tattooed face. "There you are! The show is about to-"

Lily's eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room and she noticed a few things. First, that her brother was not alone. Second, he had no shirt on. Third, it looked like he and this dark-haired gentleman were kissing. Fourth. MacGregor had his hands down this other man's...

"GEEZE!" Lily slammed the door shut, cringing.So... that's what it's like seeing more of one's brother than what one should.

Lily grabbed Frank's hand and pulled him back towards the theater. She smiled. At least Macgregor got to be a little careless for once.
