'Wow... so tiny... look at this little Hanabi.'
It was strange seeing the aunt of his children, his sister in law, as a small child again. He had grown used to the adult woman who enjoyed fashion, drinking, teasing his children, and sparring with her sister. One of his most trusted and skilled Jonin from the future where he had been Hokage, was now not even a Genin. She was a child who wasn't even in the Academy, but was being trained at home by her father.
Hanabi just looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
Naruto was looking at her with the eyes of an adult looking like a precious child, and she looked at her own father who was surprised to see Naruto still.
"Uzumaki Naruto... you're a Jonin now."
"I'm actually here for a couple of reasons, I want to speak with Hinata when she comes back from her mission, but I also want to talk with you about Neji." Naruto stated to Hiashi with a laid back tone.
It was hard to see his father in law looking so much younger as well.
It was hard to believe that this was the man he liked to share drinks with back when he was so much more serious, but Naruto knew the truth. He knew that the stern outlook was only half true, that his goals were to make his clan flourish, but more than that he didn't want to appear weak.
"So you, a new Jonin, which to speak with me about my nephew..."
"He hates you."
"I am aware." Hiashi stated with a nod of his head, fully aware that his nephew bore a lot of hatred for him personally. He was slightly surprised that Naruto knew about this. "How are you aware?"
Naruto frowned.
Right, time to fly by the seat of his pants.
"Neji is... complicated, you see, when I was 3 years old... I liked to train myself by seeing if I could hide in the blind spot behind the Byakugan... the one right about here." Naruto pointed to the nape of the neck.
Eyes widened.
Hiashi's eyes widened for a second in absolute shock when he heard Naruto state that he knew one of the most closely guarded secret weaknesses of the Byakugan. He glanced over at his daughter, and he nodded to her. She stood up and ushered herself out of the room without another moment's hesitation.
"How are you aware of such a thing Uzumaki-san?" Hiashi asked Naruto as he actually poured him some tea.
He had heard a Jonin was requesting to meet with him today, but he had not expected any of this, and for Naruto to start off with his knowledge of their clan secrets was something of a surprise as well.
"I've spent years studying the Hyuga clan for my own training, and you can cut the act in front of me. I know you hate violence, and want to unify your clan after the incident back then... that's the thing about being an orphan, without a curfew, you tend to stick your nose into business it doesn't belong in."
"I see... and you presume to know much about me?"
"Of course, you hate cheese, tempura is your favorite food, and despite how everyone gives you sake, you secretely enjoy foamy beer as well... and you do hate violence."
"I do."
It was unnerving for Hiashi to have somebody come into his home and tell him stuff about himself that he didn't tell anyone else, but he couldn't argue the facts that Naruto was telling him the truth. It would seem that he came to talk about Neji for some reason, and what was strange was that he even knew about how he didn't enjoy violence, but just wanted his clan to thrive in the village as the strongest.
Lying served no purpose.
"Neji deserves to know the truth, he's been practicing behind your back. He already knows the Trigrams 64 Palms AND the Rotation... yes?" Naruto asked when he saw Hiashi send him a slight disbelieving look.
"The Rotation-"
"-is a Main Family technique that he shouldn't know, but he knows it. He's getting mastery over it, and his hatred towards you drives him. He hates the entire Main family... don't you think it's horrible for family to hate each other... I think it's time for him to get closure with his father." Naruto explained as he put both of his fists on the mat, and he stared down Hiashi.
There was a pause before Hiashi realized what Naruto was getting at, that Naruto was fully aware that his brother had left a letter for his nephew. A scroll with knowledge of the true reason behind why he had died.
"... How do you know all of this?"
Truth.
"I know this, because I consider every person in this village to be my family. Neji is my brother, Hanabi is my sister, and you are just like a father... and I want to protect every member of my family. I want to help you patch your relationship with Neji up, I want to help you grow closer to Hinata, and I want to help you unify your clan... I want to help you make your clan more like the vision for what you wish it was like." Naruto's words portrayed every ounce of how serious he was. He was even wearing the Jonin vest and black pants to show how much more professional and serious he wanted to look.
Hiashi was taken back.
The Third and Fourth Hokage.
Hiashi felt the aura of the Hokage behind Naruto as he spoke, the Will of Fire burned in his words. His words were the same words that had been spoken by the previous Hokage before, and his conviction to treat the village as his family were just as strong.
He felt like he was speaking with a Hokage.
This boy who was not even 13, gave off a mighty and regal aura befitting of the Hokage name. His words were compassionate and strong, the same words that have been spoken by generations of Hokage before him.
"Why go so far for me, who has never done anything for you?"
"Because I will become Hokage, and the Hokage does what is right. I will walk a path of peace, strength, and love for everyone to follow. I will seek peace where I can, show my strength where I need to, and give my love to those who need it."
Belief.
Those words were spoken without an ounce of lie, and while some of Naruto's earlier words did have half-truths and slight lies to them, the last few sentences that had been spoken were nothing but the truth. Hiashi could see that Naruto truly believed everything he was saying, and was willing to help him just because he needed help.
"I will see to Neji soon, thank you... and hopefully one day you will tell me the full truth." Hiashi spoke to Naruto.
Naruto grinned.
"You wouldn't believe me."
"Oh, I wouldn't?"
-One Big Truth Bomb-
"... I believe you."
"You believe me?" Naruto asked with shock in his eyes when he told the truth about what happened to him, and how he had his memories suddenly in his young body. He explained how he had become Hokage, how he had married Hinata and had children with her, and even how Neji had died in the war as well. He explained quite a few things to Hiashi, that the normal person would never have believed him.
Hiashi was not normal.
Hiashi was a Hyuga, the clan with an eye that could see through lies, with ocular powers that made them unrivaled truth detectors. Hiashi just needed for Naruto to state his story in order for him to see the truth behind his words.
"I believe you, because you told me the truth. You married my daughter, and became my son... and you had children... and I became a loving grandfather... it's hard to believe, but you're not lying. You want to change the past, so that Neji can be happy with us. If that is your goal, I will support that. If you changed the Hyuga once, please, do it again." Hiashi spoke as he bowed his head to Naruto.
Naruto smiled, and bowed his head as well.
"Yes Father... sorry... sometimes I forget... I'm not married to Hinata yet... it's... hard to get used to being in the past... so many things are so different than what I got used to... I have my real arm back... for starters." Naruto looked at his unbandaged arm, he looked at it and clenched his fist, knowing that the right arm he had right now was his real arm. It was the arm he was born with, but it was also the arm that he didn't want.
"The arm made from Hashirama cells you spoke of?"
"... That arm was proof, forever proof, of what I sacrificed... and it feels wrong to have my arm back when I have memories of everything that I lost. I only ever took the bandages off my arm on special days, like the day I married Hinata... seeing everyone younger is kind of startling to." Naruto gave off a goofy grin that showed just how unnerved he truly was by what had happened. As much as he was going to try and make the future even better, the fact was that the entire situation he was in was really unnerving to start with. "Once technology gets further, I'll cut it off and replace it. Don't want to ever forget my original timeline."
"You have my support."
Naruto and Hiashi shook hands.
An alliance had been formed.
