A chance meeting with Professor Lupin in Diagon Alley leads Harry to a new summer home, allowing him to rebuild himself mentally and physically. Chapter 70: Poll Results

A/N: Wow, thank you for all the votes. I was pleasantly encouraged by all the people who voted, and more than a few people who came over and reached out after my Podcast with Lee, better known as TheBlack'sResurgence on the site. Now (Drumroll please) for the results.

The winner, by a landslide, was option 2! Continue the story with Harry and Fleur's mastery test. I guess this was not surprising, since I guess by the end, this was the relationship everyone was invested in. I feel like I have been on a long enough break to start writing again, so I will start banking some chapters soon. Expect Harry Kicks Ass (literally) Part 2a: The Next Year at Hogwart (Tentatively titled The New Old Bloods) :and Part 2b: The Mastery Test (Tentatively Titled: A New/Old World and the Long Way Home) to start coming out in the spring of 2022, as I want to listen to my fans, but also already have sketched out what the next year at Hogwarts will look like, and want to play with a very different protagonist while staying in my universe.

I will aim to post one chapter of Part 2b a week once it starts and be more reliable than the last year of Harry Kicks Ass (Literally) when I posted once a month or so, but I can't make any real promises until I bank enough chapters.

The irony of it all is that I changed my username to differentversionsharry before posting my first story, but I liked this one so much I am going back to it, instead of some of my other ideas. I might post some of my oneshot ideas in winter, but for the most part, I will be writing Part 2a: The next year at Hogwarts (because this is fun to write and flows out easily) and Part 2b: The mastery test (because this was the overwhelming favorite, with more than 100 votes and this taking close to 70%.) Keep a lookout for chapter 71 which will be up for two months when it comes up, just telling people when the next story comes up.

One final note about part 2a. I expect this will be the shortest of my 3 different part 2s, but I imagine it will be around 200k words. I will also hopefully be able to put most, if not all of it up in a short time frame, as it is already around ¼ banked. Then again, Part 1 was supposed to be no more than 250k words and be done in a year. We all know how that turned out.

One final note about 2b. I saw a comment about potentially making Part 2 a crossover story. The specifics of the requested crossover were not my favorite, as I am really not a fan of Marvel (Harry/Natasha? Ugh.) The more I thought about it, the more sense it made, especially if I write this concurrently with 2a which is all in the wizarding world. I am now seriously considering having this be a crossover, maybe with Game of Thrones, maybe with Fire Emblem: PoR (my all-time favorite video game), maybe with something else entirely where I am familiar with the source material. If that is something that appeals to you, or an idea that is entirely horrifying, drop me a comment or shoot me a message, as I am writing Part 2b because it is what you guys seem to want the most. I think it could be interesting to change it up and I have some ideas either way, but before I write my first word, I want to know which direction I am heading in. Maybe if I get enough feedback I will put up another poll, though I don't really want to spam polls at you guys.

Last note on Harry Kicks Ass (Literally) (Now officially part 1). I am well aware that are a more than a few typos, which as you can tell from chapter one, does not surprise me. As I re-read my story in preparation for part 2, I am trying to clean up some of the chapters. Hopefully, for new people coming to the story, or if you want to re-read it, this will clean up some of the issues, though I think of the typos, there are only a few that dramatically change the story or make it unpalatable (though I found some pretty big ones in Chapter 67, which is a big yikes.) I wouldn't go so far as to say I am looking for an editor or a Beta, but feel free to message me if there are some truly horrible ones.
