It just so happened that Jaken found out that Inuyasha had been freed from what he thought to be an eternal sleep.

Jaken spoke of an extremely powerful Miko having awoken him and released him from the spell. The Miko had had the Jewel of Four Souls that had been reported to have been burned or hidden when the previous protector had perished and the Jewel had recently been shattered into small pieces.

They had been following a lead, when the man's head changed position, guiding them to a shore not too distant from where Inuyasha had been imprisoned.

"My lord, I have an idea that may cause Inuyasha to tell us where the sword is hidden."

"I dislike schemes"

"Well, we must first draw him to us, and then we can use an unmother to get him to reveal the location!"

"Jaken, if you fail in this, I will kill you"

Jakens idea was to have Inuyasha believe that his mother had been brought from the dead, then needing to "rescue" her, he would need to get the sword. Upon seeing how powerful the sword was, he would use it to protect himself.

Sesshoumaru watched as Jaken had the unmother change. The descriptions the imp gave looked nothing like that Woman.

"Her jaw line was sharper, her eyes a lighter brown" Sesshoumaru recalled from memory. His eyes closed, picturing her face. "Her scent was that of the Kakitsubata flower, and when she smiled she would have a small dip in her cheek"

Opening his eyes made his knees weak. In front of him stood the woman he had loved. His heart hurt and he recalled the accusations in her eyes as he turned away.

The plan was simple enough, yet as all plans that involve others go, things went awry almost immediately.

Inuyasha's eyes still held contempt and it made Sesshoumaru waver.

When the ogre grabbed Izayoi, he longed to rescue her even though his mind knew it was the unmother, his heart heard her cries and his beast rattled the cages of his mind.

Inuyasha fought for her as planned, but Sesshoumarus eyes had caught on a woman standing behind Inuyasha.

It was the first time he saw her, and he thought how interesting it was to see a mortal woman in a situation such as this.

Standing behind her self-proclaimed protector her long locks flowed like a river of darkness down her back. Her blue eyes staring him down without fear. The blues in her strange kimono brought out the porcelain tones in her skin.

There was something about her that caught his eye. Something about her that piqued his curiosity.

Her strange manner of dress was nothing compared to her demeanor though.

She stood, challenge written in every muscle of her body. Her brows furrowed slightly as she stared him straight in the eyes.

He was so caught up in watching the strange woman, he failed to see how the situation had begun to deteriorate. The unmother transported Inuyasha and the woman with him some distance away, trapping them within an illusion.

Before he could reach Inuyasha the unmother had begun devouring his brother. Before he could reach him the woman had already destroyed the illusion, but he understood now. The sword was in a black pearl hidden in Inuyasha's eye.

Once he removed the black pearl from Inuyasha's eye and broke it, it opened a portal and without hesitation he went through.

She followed him into what turned out to be his father's grave, Inuyasha following right behind her.

He flew straight to his father's remains, the sword must be here, it fit the riddle.

Entering the chest cavity he saw it. The tattered handle, deceiving in its looks. The strength it carried once drawn rivaled no other sword.

He wasn't able to pull it from the stone it was lodged in. He knew it was for Inuyasha, but it still angered him.

His pride hurting, and Inuyasha had caught up. He may have let Inuyasha hit him once, but he wasn't going to again. It wasn't rational, he knew, but his chest was tight and he was so torn and fighting with his brother was easing the pain as he focused more on the fight and less on the pain.

That Woman was yelling for Inuyasha to pull the sword and hurt his pride.

Didn't they realize it already was?

Inuyasha couldn't pull the sword out either. He wanted to laugh. All this for nothing. The fang for protection was stuck in a stone stand.

All the anger and pain, he swung at his brother. Fighting as common mongrels would. He kept catching sight of that Woman out of the corner of his eye.

Everytime he blinked he saw blue fire around her. His anger rose because he swore he would never take interest in one again, but she was a distraction.

She tripped and grabbed the sword. It came right out of the stone stand and without thinking, he doused her in his dokkasou.

That should end all of the problems. His acid would eat through anything. He wouldn't have to be so confused and he could go with his brother back to his Shiro and fix everything now that he had the sword to protect himself.
