He finds his brother with not only the woman, but a young kitsune and a monk.
He uses his youki whip to knock the sword from his brother's grip, then he lifts it high into the air. He will show his brother the true power of the sword.
When Jaken calls the lesser demons from the mountain, Sesshoumaru pushes his youki into the sword and swings.
The path of destruction is impressive and he realizes he went a little overboard on the demonstration. His brother only has his mind on getting the sword back.
The woman, the monk and kit take cover for safety. He moves away to keep them far from the fighting. The woman shouldn't be involved in this fight.
Inuyasha is nothing if not persistent in his attempts to fight and Sesshoumaru is impressed that the pup uses Tessaiga's scabbard to defend himself. It is made from Bokuseno's branches and imbued with protective enchantments.
He uses his claws to swing at his open spots, forcing him to cover those areas. Block, parry, lunge repeat. He needs to build the reflexes so they become instinctive to Inuyasha, and repetition is the best way.
The woman is a miko, as he finds out when she fires an arrow that feels like lightning across his skin. He drops the sword now that it's untransformed. The miko shoots again destroying his armor and the sensation that washes over him, although prickly, does not cause the wash of pain he expects. It feels like being submerged in a warm spring of water.
He catches her third arrow as it streaks towards him. The warm tingle runs from his fingertips across his body. He wants to revel in it, but melts the arrow instead. He needs to remain focused.
Another underestimation of Inuyasha's speed, agility and healing have him clawing through Inuyasha's stomach. The Tessaiga repels him from the attempt to get close to see the damage he caused. Again, he leaves feeling shamed at harming his brother.
Sesshoumaru had been following the blight on his lands, finding too late that it is that creature -Naraku- that had given him the jewel shard.
In need of a sword that can actually strike down a foe, Sesshoumaru hunts down Totosai to craft him a sword so that he may destroy his enemy.
Not only does he find the swordsmith, but Inuyasha and his misfit band as well.
He is preoccupied with not looking at the miko that Totosai riles up Inuyasha to fight.
Inuyasha waves the Tessaiga around like a club, and for a heartbeat Sesshoumaru mourns for all swordsmanship lessons he was never able to impart.
