Poet- I promise there will be more! Just not daily-ish!

Sesshoumaru follows the scent of his brother. He finds him transformed. Again.

He had slaughtered many, and posturing towards the Miko. He pulses his aura to get Inuyasha's attention. If he defeats the demon, the way inus do to show who is alpha in a pack, perhaps the demon will submit.

The words he goads with are like ash on his tongue.

He knocks the demon out, and the Miko runs to defend him.

"Return the sword to him, otherwise he will continue to fight when he awakens." Her eyes widen for a moment, her reiki changes from roiling prickles, to cool water pouring over him, and he realizes, she has finally seen him.

He watches later as Inuyasha tries to erase the scent from the day from himself.

She is with him, and comforts him. Wrapping her arms around him and holding him.

Sesshoumaru feels a pain he has known so well in the past, yet did not expect again. Jealousy.

He leaves, not able to watch her pour affection on his brother.

'I need to get her out of my mind.' He thinks solemnly. 'She is not mine, and I will not follow in my father's footsteps and steal a woman from someone else.'

He returns to his camp with the girl child, -Rin- and Jaken.

Over the next two months he tries so hard not to think of her, but it is futile.

The fire in her eyes. Eyes that are the same blue as the Ayame flower.

The way she knelt on the ground, lips in a pout as she defied him to protect his brother.

Her long legs in that strange short kimono.

He knows she is intelligent by the way she spoke, even if many of the things she said had a strange pattern to them.

But that pout of her lips with the fire in her eyes. He just can't get that out of his mind.

If Izayoi had been a small spark. A small light in the darkness that was his life then Kagome was a bonfire on a beach at sunset. She lit up everything and everyone around her, bringing joy and friendships and love.

If he admitted he felt something for her, would that lessen what he had felt for Izayoi? Or did it not matter? They were so different from each other there was no comparing the two.

They were two completely separate beings and he may have, at one point he may have thought he loved Izayoi, but it was nothing like how he was beginning to feel for Kagome.

Perhaps, the love he felt for Izayoi was what a first love felt like, strong and fierce rife with new feelings, it just makes you happy, but what he feels for Kagome is deep and sacred, completely unexpected and he knows that if Inuyasha is who makes her happy, then he would be happy just to see her happy.
