Harry Potter

The enemies met them with unmatched speed and ability. Harry cast spell after spell, the small streams of light flying through the air, before striking some giant or dementor.

He wasn't even sure how it was possible that these creatures were here, due to the entire area not even being known to the real world. However, he didn't have much time to dwell on it, because the enemies kept coming.

No matter how many they struck down, it hardly seemed to make a dent.

He could see some sort of light radiating from the center, faint, but with the slight emenation of power.

"Percy!" Harry called over to the demigod who had took his place beside him, pointing out the source. Percy nodded when he saw it. "It's probably the thing that's controlling all of these. Come with me," he said, before dodging aside an arrow aimed at his face and beginning to run towards the light, weaving between enemies.

Harry vigorously followed, sending anything that tried to get close reeling with a curse from his wand.

Eventually, though, Percy stopped, as they'd reached the center.

Monsters and people churned around them, although seemed to be held back by some invisible force.

When Harry turned back to the source, he was surprised by what he saw. The light was some sort of pulsating orb, with tendrils of light stretching out in all directions. They seemed to stop, or at least, go invisible at the barrier to the area.

Harry testily held out a hand to one of these tendrils, and it did not hurt him. In fact, his hand seemed to block the light. A gasp from Percy's direction made him turn slightly, and he himself did too.

Where his hand had blocked the light from the invisible barrier, a line of enemies seemed to vanish. Harry glanced over to Percy, whose eyes were narrowed with an idea. Gesturing for Harry to follow him, he began at a fast pace towards the center point, his sword outstretched, and he plunged it into the orb, which flickered slightly, making the enemies fizzle for a moment before returning.

Catching on, Harry muttered a curse and sent it flying towards the light.

Not being able to handle the power of the two at once, the orb went dark before vanishing into steam. The tendrils of light were cut off immediately, their trails vaporizing. The legions of enemies vanished, leaving the bewildered rest of the group staring at Percy and Harry.

Harry realized at once. "They were just projections. They weren't real."

Percy's eyes widened in recognition, and they began to walk towards the others, planning to tell what they'd discovered.
