Harry Potter
The sun dawned on the bright kingdom and awoke Harry from his sleep. This was his final morning in the palace, and the realization hit him in an instant.
They were to leave today, return back to their normal lives, far away from this fantastical world. He wasn't sure why he dreaded it so much, perhaps it was that he felt so comfortable here. He could never forget the time spent in this beautiful place.
The day passed quickly, with every fleeting moment spent in anticipation for their departure. Before he knew it, the time came.
He said his goodbyes to the friends he had made here, such as Raine and Jacques, but also the small boy, Heath, from the knight's chamber. The kid had taken a toll from the loss of his mentor, but luckily, he had his own family here to help him recover.
Harry walked through the streets surrounded by his companions and gazed at the winding streets as they passed, quiet as it had been on their first arrival. However, as before it had seemed odd, now it was peaceful, and a gentle reminder of how unique this place truly was.
They reached the border soon enough, where they met Elyssae-Lydian, her dark purple gown sweeping across the ground before the large, astronomical wall. The massive doors sat open and unguarded, as there was no reason for their closure now.
Taking a breath, Harry stepped between the doors. There was no need for a speech or a send-off, all emotions glistened in the air before them.
Elyssae-Lydian had informed them the previous night that whatever force had brought them here was likely to take them back when the quest had completed and they stepped beyond the confines of the city. Somehow, Harry knew it to be true. Still, he wished he could return here, he wished this wouldn't be his last time in the kingdom, but the finality lingered. He bit his lip, stifling back the rising emotions.
Once the group had exited the doorway, and stood in the hazy fields of heather, they turned.
A soft wind began to pick up, swirling around the group and pressing in on them.
Harry looked at the Empress for the last time, and noticed something he'd never seen before. Instead of her typical steely, powerful expression, her lips were turned upwards in a small, solemn smile.
Then, in an instant, she disappeared behind a torrent of darkness.
