Hello!
Welcome to this ridiculous fic I came up with while bored on a car ride.
I hope you all enjoy! And if you can think of any interesting prompts for more oneshots please comment them! I'd love to do more oneshots!
And it doesn't have to be with Crowley, I actually have one I'm working on for Aziraphale as well! (If could also be other fandoms if I know them)
(Also! If you want more updates on my fics or to send prompts to me my Twitter is Rosie_writing)
Anyways! I hope you all enjoy!
She quietly folds a few clothes and puts them into their place on the shelf in front of her, quietly humming to herself as she works.
It was just like any other day at work until her phone rang, she quickly goes into the back room, looking at the caller ID to see it was Aziraphale.
"What's up buttercup?" She quips, but rather than his happy greeting like usually he nearly interrupts her.
"Alex! Thank goodness, I need your help" he says quickly, her heart sinks.
"What with? The apocalypse coming again?" She asks quickly, going toward her bag.
"No...no nothing like that...but, Crowley...my dear, I can't get him to talk...I think somethings gone wrong, he's not himself" he explains, she can hear the distress in his voice.
"How so? And where are you?" She asks, grabbing her bag quickly and pulling on her coat.
"His flat, you must hurry, I fear what he might do" he says.
"Ok, I'll be right there, don't do anything and don't let him leave his flat" she orders quickly before hanging up and telling her boss there was a family emergency.
Once that's done she races out of the small store and toward the demons flat, worry starting to consume her the closer she gets, a bad feeling filling her as she stumbles into the lobby then into the elevator.
She presses the penthouse button and waits anxiously as the numbers above the doors count up, she grips the straps of her backpack tightly.
As soon as the doors open she races out and to the flat, opening the door quickly to find a very distressed angel in the front room, pacing back and forth, she frowns and takes off her backpack.
"Where is he?" She asks quickly, he jumps and looks up, frowning worriedly.
"He's in his room, but please, be careful...he isn't...He isn't right" he explains as best he can, she nods and tosses her bag to the side before walking through the large rotating stone door and then to his bedrooms door, she hesitates before quietly opening it, inside is nearly pitch black, but she can already feel the tense air and quiet, she slowly steps inside, her heart racing as the light from outside lights up the room just enough.
She stops dead in her tracks, staring wide eyed at the massive black and red snake now in front of her, coiled up in a corner, hissing dangerously as it sees her, raising its head.
The snake had to be at the very least 60 feet long, thick and powerful coils all curled up and the diamond shaped head watching her dangerously.
She holds her breath for a moment as she stares before she slowly takes a step forward, the snake instantly hissing louder, threatening attack now.
She quickly stops moving and decides to speak "Crowley...?"
The snake continues to watch her, not showing any signs of recognition, she gulps and speaks again "Crowley? Hun, it's me, it's Alex"
But again the snake just watches her, causing her to feel sick with worry and fear for him, she glances behind her to see the worried angel standing near Crowleys throne in his main sitting room, then she looks back to the snake and very slowly takes another step closer, it raises itself up more, hissing down at her dangerously.
She takes a deep shaky breath and slowly sits down cross legged, facing the snake "it's alright, I'm not going to hurt you, you're safe here, we mean you no harm, ever" she says seriously, the snake had watched her sit down closely, keeping its large golden eyes on her, looking for any sign of a threat.
She meets his eyes sadly and frowns a little "what happened to you? Did someone hurt you...? Is it something one of us did?" She asks softly, hoping, no, praying that he was simply angry with them, and that this wasn't something worse.
But even as she continues to talk to the snake it doesn't move much, showing no sign of recognition, Aziraphale would come to the door every now and then, trying to speak to Crowley as well but the snake only gets tense when he gets close, and after hours of Alex just trying to figure out what was going on she starts to lose hope on figuring out what had happened.
Alex sighs softly as she hears the front door to the flat open and shut, Aziraphale was back with some dinner for her, she slowly stands, meeting eyes with the snake again "I'll be right back" she says before leaving the room, she smiles tiredly at the angel as he sets her food on Crowleys desk.
"You're the best Azi" she says and grabs the food hungrily as he looks to the bedroom door.
"Still no sign of him?" He asks, she sighs and shakes her head.
"Nothing...he won't even respond to his name, have you found anything? Could it have been heaven or hell?" She asks as she flops into the throne tiredly.
He shakes his head "I can't find anything, nothing to suggest either side has anything to do with this" he says sadly, she nods and sighs softly.
"Thank you for looking..." she murmurs, he smiles a little and looks to her.
"Of course I'd be helping, he is my best friend, I want to know what happened" he says, she nods again and smiles softly.
"Then I know we will figure this out, it may just take time" she says and he nods again.
"I best return to the bookshop, I forgot to close up earlier" he says, she nods and stands, smiling softly.
"Ok, be careful, just in case this is something to do with either side, I'm going to stay the night, try and get him to trust me more, I want to make sure he isn't injured" she explains, they hug before he's off, she sighs and grabs her food before quietly returning to the bedroom.
The loud hissing nearly makes her jump as she opens the door, but the snake seems to calm a little once it sees her, she smiles up at him softly and moves to sit down where she had been seated on the floor for the last few hours before she opens her food and starts to eat quickly.
Though as she eats she hears the snake moving, looking up she finds his head nearly right in front of her, she squeaks in surprise and the snake recoils, she winces "sorry...I didn't know you'd be so close" she says quickly.
It watches her cautiously for a moment before slowly slithering closer again, she gets an idea and grabs a piece of chicken from her meal and holds it out to the snake before thinking better of it and setting the piece on the floor, just to make sure she wouldn't lose her hand.
He sniffs at the meat, his tongue flicking out at it before taking it and swallowing it quickly, she watches curiously as it looks back up to meet her gaze, she smiles softly "do you want some more? I can go out and grab some more chicken" she says, the snake simply slithers a little closer, slithering around behind her and looking down at her, now his side pressing into her back, she smiles softly up at him.
"Hey handsome" she murmurs, slowly raising her hand, the snake watches her closely but seems to realize she isn't a threat and she gently places her hand against his neck near his head, softly stroking the glossy smooth scales, the snake shivers under her touch and seems to lean against her a little more, making her heart leap.
"You probably don't understand me, but if you can hear me, if you are stuck in there somehow, we are working on figuring all of this out, we won't stop until you're really back" she says softly, continuing to stoke the scales as she finishes her food before leaning back slowly against the warm scales behind her.
She yawns after some time and looks to see the snakes head was laid down next to her, she smiles softly and very gently lays her hand on its head before closing her eyes tiredly.
"Sleep well..." she murmurs before falling asleep tiredly.
And thats how the days went for nearly a week, she called off work because of the emergency, Aziraphale would come daily to check on both of them, and slowly she was gaining Crowleys trust, he didn't hiss now when she'd walk inside the room, and when she'd get tired she would fall asleep on the large comfortable bed, the snake slithering closer and coiling around the bed, one coil over her on the bed.
On the sixth day she wakes up way too early for her liking, it being 3 am, she groans softly and slowly gets up, gently pushing the end of the huge snakes tail off her as she wanders out into the other room, rubbing her eyes as she tries to figure out what woke her up.
She looks around the room a few times, her vision still a little unfocused but then she hears it, a soft click of the front door being opened and closed, she stiffens nervously, Aziraphale never came over this early.
She looks around for anything she could use as a weapon but nothing stands out, only freaking her out more.
She slowly goes to the plant room, hiding behind one of them as she glances down the hallway toward the front door, nerves coiling in her stomach.
Her eyes widen when she sees four dark figures coming down the hallway toward her, she could see they weren't right, knowing they had to be demons, she also knew they would find her easily here.
She takes a deep breath before bolting through the room and back toward the bedroom as fast as she can.
"Where are you goin sweetheart?" Sneers one of the men behind her, she slips through the concrete slab door, closing it behind her before making her way toward the bedroom.
However when she's only feet away she stops moving, frozen in place, her hand reaching toward the door handle, her heart plummets and she struggles against what ever is holding her in place.
Soon the four beings behind her circle around her, she glares shakily at the one in front of her as the tall heavily built man smirks down at her, he looked filthy, like a homeless man who had also rolled around in sewage.
"Think that traitor in there can save you? He's gone, he doesn't even know who you are anymore" he sneers, she glares harder and the force holding her in place drops.
She takes her chance and leaps at the man, managing a hard right hook to the mans jaw, causing him to stumble back in shock before she grabs the door handle, however she is grabbed and as she pulls the door open they pull her back.
"Not today sunshine!" The demon she hit snaps angrily.
She struggles as they start to pull her away from the door, looking through the slightly ajar door, her eyes wide with fear as they meet the bright gold of the massive snakes.
"Crowley!" She screams in fear, the snake lunges for the door but can't fit, far too big to fit through.
She continues to struggle but they get her away from the door before the man she punched, seemingly the leader looks back to the doorway, smirking at the hissing creature.
"Look what you've done, traitor! It's your fault she has to die now!" He laughs before snapping his fingers, her eyes widen in horror as one second they are in Crowley's flat, the next they are outside in a dark and freezing forest, leaves covering the ground as she is still held in their grips.
She glares shakily up at the leader "you won't get away with this! I have powerful friends" She snaps, he smirks evilly.
"Not anymore girly, your traitorous boyfriend is long gone" He sneers, her heart sinks but she shakes her head.
"No he isn't, you've just done something to him!" She snaps, trying to lunge for him but the other three hold her in place tightly.
She hisses in pain at their painfully tight hold, the leader laughs and snaps his fingers, they release her and she rubs her sore arms.
"Run along girly, I want to Hunt" the leader growls, she looks up to him angrily, but when she sees his fully black eyes she panics, instantly sprinting away as fast as she can.
Her heart racing in her ears as she runs, terrified of what they'd do when they caught her.
'Aziraphale! If you can hear me! Take care of Crowley!' She prays, hoping against hope it would somehow reach him.
As she runs she can hear something large and dangerous catching up to her, she glances back just in time to see a massive black boat racing after her.
She screams and pushes herself faster, taking a very sudden sidestep, using a tree to help her spin and sprint in another direction.
She hears the boar lose its footing and skid away a bit before following her again.
She didn't even realize she had tears streaming down her face until they started to obscure her vision, she try's to wipe at her eyes as she runs but it only makes her stumble, slowing her more.
Suddenly the boar is breathing down her neck and it swings it head, letting out an ear piercing shriek as it slams into her side, sending her flying.
She screams as she flies before slamming into the ground on her back and sliding a few feet in the dirt and brush.
Curling up shakily she tries to regain her breath that had been knocked out of her, tears filling her eyes again.
She gasps and tries to sit up, looking up to see the massive black boar with red eyes standing over her, snorting dangerously, it's red eyes gleaming in morbid excitement.
She coughs painfully and tries to glare at the demon "fuck you" she spits "you can do what ever you want to me, but you won't win! Crowley will be ok, you can't hurt him" she growls, clenching her teeth painfully.
The boar makes a horrible choking snort sound, which she realizes was the creature laughing at her, she grabs a handful of dirt and throws it in the things eyes but as she tries to get up to run again it bowls into her, slamming her back onto the ground, yet again making her lose her breath.
She gasps painfully and clutches her hands to her chest shakily.
She closes her eyes shakily.
'If this is the end...Crowley, you better get better! Don't let them do this to you again!' She thinks, her anger turning to sadness as she realizes this would be her end.
She curls up more under the huge demon, feeling it's a very breath fan over her before she stiffens as there is suddenly an ear piercing cry, like a mix between a human male scream and loud hissing.
She stays stiff until the weight of the demon disappears, she doesn't move for a moment before she hears loud fighting, she opens her eyes and watches in shock as a massive snake man hybrid was now fighting the boar.
She shakily sits up, watching wide eyed as the Naga tears into the boar, ripping flesh and breaking bone, the boar tries to fight back but loses fairly quickly.
As the boar falls to the ground and doesn't move again she shakily gets to her feet, her legs shaking but she wanted to make sure she could run if she needed too, fear shooting through her as she looks over the Naga.
The snake tail was long and thick, obviously dangerously strong, black shiny scales covering it with a dark crimson red underbelly.
The snake tail leads up and seems to meld into the human looking upper half, joining at the hips and a few scales seem to go up the spine of the thing.
The creatures human torso was a pale white, thin and lanky but strong, and the long red hair went down to just past the things shoulders, she shivers for a moment before realization hits her.
She stares wide eyed as the Naga turns toward her, though the blood on him was nerve wracking she instantly relaxed, as those same golden snake eyes meets hers.
Those eyes she knew so well, the eyes of her own personal snake, her boyfriend.
Crowley.
She gulps and hesitates before speaking "Crowley...?"
She yelps in shock as the Naga suddenly slithers extremely fast toward her before curling his large strong coils around her, though not too tightly.
She gasps and looks up into the bright golden eyes.
"H-hi..." She stutters out softly in shock, keeping her eyes locked with the bright gold ones above her.
He seems to regard her for a few moments before leaning down closer, his coils still wrapped around her, though not painfully tight.
"Crowley...? Do you understand me?" She tries softly, keeping her voice gentle, slowly she raises her hand, moving to try and grab his arm but the sound of footsteps causes the beast to whirl around, pulling her behind him protectively.
Into view comes an Angel, panting and looking up at Crowley with wide eyes, she peaks around the serpent and smiles seeing Aziraphale.
But as he tries to take a step forward the beast hisses dangerously, raising up threateningly as if to strive, her eyes widen and she shouts.
"Stop! He's not back yet, he's freaked out, don't come any closer"
He stops in his tracks "are you alright? He hasn't hurt you has he?" He asks worriedly.
"No, I'm ok, I think he recognizes me, but he's not fully in control yet, keep your distance" she explains worriedly.
He nods and takes a few steps back, she looks back up at the Naga in front of her and around her, she hesitates before reaching out and gently laying her hand on his back, his human skin soft and cool, he stiffens for a moment before looking back down at her.
She smiles up at him "hey, it's ok, Aziraphale means no harm, he's a friend, remember?" She asks, but he just keeps watching her.
She sighs softly before gently patting the coils around her "can you let me go? I'm safe now, you took care of the bad guys" she explains, and after a few moments the coils loosen a little, though they don't let her go yet.
She smiles up at him more "why don't we head home, you'll feel safer there"
It took some time and trying to explain before they made it back to Crowley's flat, but once there he again wouldn't let her go, keeping a watchful eye on the Angel, after a while though Aziraphale says his goodbyes and that he'd come and check on them again soon.
Alex thanks him as he goes before she looks up to Crowley again, reaching over and gently taking one of his clawed hands into hers, being careful to not cut herself.
"Come on, come to bed" she encourages softly, gently pulling him toward the bedroom, he slithers after closely, and once she sits on the bed cross legged he slithers up.
Laying out his large torso over the bed on his stomach, obviously tired, the rest of his tail wrapping around the bed a few times, though the end of his tail comes up to wrap around her waist gently.
She smiles at him softly, scooting closer and gently pulling his hair from his face as he watches her unblinkingly.
She hesitates before gently braiding his hair so it wouldn't get in his way so much, he relaxes as she does so, closing his eyes and wrapping one arm around her waist to pull her closer.
She giggles a little, relaxing more and more as he relaxes.
And soon he's asleep, she softly lays the finished braid down over his shoulder before she notices the scales following his spine up to the base of his neck, she very gently traces them with her finger.
He shudders under her touch, leaning into it in his slumber, she softly strokes his spine more, enjoying the cool feeling of the scales, and seeing him comfortable.
Soon she starts to doze off and so she lays down next to him, pulling a blanket up over herself and curling against his side.
A few of his coils slide up and over her, cocooning her against his side.
The next thing she knows she's slowly waking up, warm and comfortable, she curls up a little more and keeps her eyes closed for a while, just enjoying the morning before she suddenly remembers what had happened the night before.
She opens her eyes to meet the bright gold of Crowley's own, watching her closely, she realizes he hasn't changed fully back yet, frowning worriedly she sits up a little on her arm.
"You ok? Can you understand me?" She asks worriedly, and to her great relief he lets out a soft chuckle, his coils still over her, pulling her a little closer gently.
She beams as he speaks for the first time in a while "I'm alright now, how are you fairing? No injuries?" He asks suddenly worried, she smiles softly and shakes her head.
"Besides a few scrapes and bruises I'm perfectly fine" she insists happily, he nods and pushes himself up a little with his arms.
"Good..." he hesitates a moment as he looks down at her, seeming to be a bit nervous now.
"Did...did I scare you?" He asks softly, and she can't help the sudden laugh bubbling up and out of her lips, but she quickly shakes her head, sitting up more.
"No! No of course not, you can't scare me if you tried, ok, I was scared for you, but not of you" she explains before blushing a bit at her rambling.
He relaxes and smirks as he lays back down, smirking up at her "Is that a challenge?" He jokes and she smirks, leaning over him.
"Do you want it to be? Cause I think you'd lose" She goads, his tail gently tightens around her middle a little.
He pretends to think for a moment "perhaps I shall drop you in the forest again, then stalk after you, perhaps then you may be scared" he hums thoughtfully.
She only smirks more, leaning against his torso, arm resting over his stomach.
"I'd love to see that, you getting your hair stuck in the brambles, or getting your tail stuck between trees" she teases, he smirks more and suddenly she's lifted up into the air over him, his tail holding her up a few feet above the bed as she gasps.
He leans up on his arms again, smirking up at her as she playfully glares down at him, crossing her arms defiantly.
He lowers her just enough to lay a soft kiss on her nose, she tries to keep a straight face but can't help the smile tugging at her lips as he smiles lovingly up at her.
What do you guys think? I had some fun with this one shot!
I'm thinking I'll probably do more like it!
I would love to do some prompt requests with these two if you guys can think of any! Just like one to three word prompt kinda things, though I do want to keep it PG-13 mostly.
I hope you all liked it!
Love you all to bits!
