Rework of a former story of mine of the same title. having been recruited by my future self, this is the story of how I ended up in the Mass Effect Universe and helping Shepard and the crew try and stop the Reapers from killing us all. No pressure eh?

Set in the Mass Effect universe with slight alterations. I do not own anything about Mass Effect. *Spoilers are included.*

Our story takes place after Humanity narrowly avoids destroying itself and despite all odds manages to learn from its mistakes. Being a better, kinder species when they encounter another race in need they pull out all the stops to lend assistance.

The galaxy has been shattered. A malevolent foe has achieved what the Reapers could not do: eradicate all hope. But there are those that still resist, that push back in the face of futile odds. It will now be up to Shepard and Tali's daughter - Roahn - to figure out a way to restore that hope, unite their lost allies, and pursue their enemy to the universe's very edge.

Earth has never been unified. The Galatic Council finds a planet divided in national rivalries and conflicting interests, but will humanity fall to outside influence because of its internal problems? Or will the other races be dragged into the political quagmire of Great Powers competition?

In 1958, NATO and the Warsaw Pact come into contact with a hostile UFO. It seemed to defy the laws of physics with the way it moved and the way it's mass seemed to almost...fluctuate. In a joint effort, the two powers defeated the aliens, but only just. Now, the aliens have returned, and only one organization has any hope of stopping them: the Xenonauts.

The wing of a butterfly is made of numerous filaments, scales, cells of color and flexible material, but at the instant of a finger brush can be smeared and weakened. Peace is a metamorphosis such as a chrysalis that must be formed by a single unit interacting with many. And time takes it through the proper changes before it can form into its calling….

So, through all the trauma she and Garrus had endured, would they really be able to live a normal life? Afterall, they don't go looking for trouble, the trouble finds them.
