Hi everyone!

Dropping this chapter on the day Doctor who pulled an advertisement stunt like never before (deactivating all their social media accounts for 24 hours) just to change their icon, release a 10 second teaser and finally a date for the new season!

Halloween! Which i love. I love Halloween and actually, lil spoiler maybe i don't know, Agnes' birthday is on halloween so this feels extra special to me. Also i gotta admit i had bbc one running in the background all day to not miss the little glitches and teases. I'm really excited for the new season! What do you think? Are you excited? And how do you feel about the whole 6 episode storyline they're gonna pull this time? I hope this turns out well!

Like always, thank you so much for everyone favoriting, following, reading and also thank you so much for the reviews! I love reading and replying to them! So please leave a review to tell me your thoughts! Also, this story hit 1k reads now and that's just wow! Thank you!

This chapter's question is: If you could join any adventure the Doctor has been on, yet, which one would you choose? I guess it's kinda similar to the favourite episode question, but although my favourite episode is Midnight I wouldn't like going on that adventure, at all. 😃 I think I'd either choose Vincent and the Doctor (because I really really love Vincent Van Gogh, or Partner's in Crime because Donna and The Doctor were so much fun during that one.

Either way I talk to much during these so ignore me, lol.

Love, Maze

When Agnes woke up it was dark. She didn't think much of it, it must still be early and the sun hasn't risen yet. Turning around in her bed, she snuggled her face into one of the pillows on her bed, deciding she could catch a few more hours of sleep. The friction of her trousers made her stop in her motion. Why was she sleeping in her jeans?

Agnes sat up, reaching out her hand to feel the material and yes, definitely jeans. Hadn't she worn a skirt when she went to bed? This was weird.

A dim light lit up from above her and now Agnes could see that she wasn't in her room. It took her a second to clear her head, blinking into the dimness. Then she remembered the events of the last day. She was not at home. She was in the Tardis. More specifically, in her room in the Tardis. Agnes sighed.

This wasn't a dream then, was it?

A soft metallic humming lulled through the air. Probably the Tardis agreeing with her. Right, she was telepathic.

For some odd reason, that realization didn't surprise her the least because now she was stuck in a place where telepathy was just a common thing. Fuck, this was so weird.

Agnes let herself fall back into the pillows and stared at the ceiling above her and the night sky that was painted on it, trying to sort her thoughts and make sense of what had happened the day before. She didn't remember falling asleep. She quite specifically remembered she had been keen on staying awake instead until Amy, Rory and the Doctor came back so she had a chance to give him a piece of her mind. But then she had gotten incredibly tired after minutes turned into hours and she had decided to curl up in the jumping chair and just close her eyes for a few more minutes...

Of course, she'd fallen asleep, stupid human body and its stupid limitations. Still, the question of how she got from the jumping chair to her room was open. Well...there was one possible explanation for it.

"The Doctor didn't carry me to bed, did he?" Agnes asked into the room, the question meant for the Tardis.

The ship made a chirping sound which told the girl that that was exactly what had happened.

She groaned. Why couldn't he have just let her break her back? Then she could have blamed it on him and continue to be mad. But no, the Doctor had to be a thoughtful and sweet person. Bloody idiot.

After Agnes continued to lie in bed and curse the Doctor for a while, she noticed the ache in her stomach that told her she needed something to bite. Right, she hadn't eaten since that dinner she was at with her dad, before she woke up in the cave. It had been at least a day...or two? The dissociation had distorted her perception of time...

"Can you bring me to the kitchen?" she asked and the ship made a sound in agreement.

So Agnes rolled out of bed, not without grunting inelegantly and left her room, leaving it to the Tardis to guide her to where she could relieve her hunger. And the kitchen was surprisingly close to her room. Although the girl had dragged her feet across the floor in such a slow manner that even the Tardis was getting impatient, she arrived after only two turns.

Easy enough so she could find her way back even without the help of the ship.

The kitchen was not very spectacular. If she hadn't already been aware of the true nature of the Tardis she would have just thought of it as a regular kitchen. Kind of big, but still very average looking.

The girl rummaged through the cupboards and fridge, partly curious what kind of food the Doctor shopped for and obviously looking for something she could eat.

She didn't know why she was surprised when she spotted her favourite cereal in the front of the first cupboard she opened, The Doctor had already said they've known each other for a while. Or rather that he has known her for a while and she will get to know him in the future.

Agnes grinned, grabbing the box and placing it on the counter, quickly collecting milk, a bowl and a spoon, too. She also got a glass of orange juice she jugged down quickly to help with her dry throat. She poured the cereal into the milk (yes she was that kind of weirdo) before making her way out of the kitchen with a satisfied smirk.

That was before the girl spotted the snickers bars on the table. She decided to grab two, after all, she did need some kind of peace offering for the doctor (since she certainly wasn't apologizing for anything), then she walked outside.

The Tardis helped lead Agnes back to the control room. She hoped she would be able to remember the way at some point so she didn't bother the ship too badly. When she arrived the lights were dimmer than they usually were, something she's never seen before in the show and when she walked down the stairs to the level with the control panel there was no sign of The Doctor.

Mh, weird. She looked around, already trying to think of other places in the Tardis the Doctor might be at. Maybe the library or…he probably had a bedroom, although she thought she remembered he barely used it because he didn't need a lot of sleep. That's when she heard the sound of screwing and clanking.

Oh, right.

She looked down through the glass floor, spotting the back of the Doctor's head as he was working on…something.

Walking down the stairs, careful to not spill the milk of her cereal, she arrived in the area that was just right under the control panel. The floor was weird, reminding her of swiss cheese with the holes in it and she had to pay attention to not accidentally step inside one of them as she ducked down under the glass floor of the level above, approaching The Doctor.

He was sitting on a swing, hanging from the glass floor above, funny goggles strapped to his head and a screwdriver, a normal one, in his hand. He hadn't noticed her yet, back still turned to her as he was reaching for cables. Whatever he was planning to do to them with a screwdriver.

"Yo!"

The Doctor lost his balance, yelping in surprise as he clung onto the swing straps to not fall before he turned her direction with a gaping mouth. She couldn't see his eyes as they were covered by the dark glasses of his goggles but maybe that just made his expression funnier.

"Agnes! Oi, don't scare me like that."

She suppressed a laugh, grabbed the sneaker bar from her hoodie pockets and threw it into his direction. He caught it with a huff, staring between her and the chocolate in confusion.

"You're welcome," she told him, walking around the swing to sit down on the floor in front of him, so he didn't have to twist his neck so much…although that would serve him well for treating her like a toddler, needed to be put in time out.

He eyed her curiously as she started spooning her cereal.

"Thank you," he nodded in her direction, looking down at the chocolate bar before putting it in his inner suit pocket.

They sat in silence for a few minutes, Agnes slurping her cereal and The Doctor simply looking at her with this thoughtful expression. Until the feeling of his eyes constantly on her made Agnes so irritated she glared at him.

"For god's sake, I'm not mad anymore, you can stop looking like a kicked puppy," she grunted, without real bite to it, pushing the last spoon of cereal into her mouth.

The Doctor's face lit up at that.

"You're not?"

"Maybe a little, but you can make it up by telling me about anything that happened after you behaved like a dick towards me and locked me into the Tardis."

The Doctor opened and closed his mouth, looking both offended and confused at being called "a dick" by anyone at all and Agnes snorted.

"Language!" he reminded her.

"Nah." She smiled.

He rolled his eyes at that, probably knowing there was no hope in trying to get her to stop cursing, so he switched the topic.

"You want me to tell you about what happened with the vampires? I thought you knew about this adventure?"

She shrugged, placing the empty bowl down on the floor behind her. "I'm curious how you tell stories."

The Doctor had a pleased smile on his face. And he didn't have to be asked twice. While returning to his work he started telling Agnes about everything that happened, starting from when he got back to Amy and Rory, to meeting the father of the vampire girl, to making up a plan for Amy going undercover with poor Rory posing as her brother. So that didn't change. How sad for Rory.

The Doctor told stories in an excited voice, adding unimportant details he promised would become important later when they wouldn't, trailing off a few times to tell Agnes about similar situations he's been in before, and a lot of hand gestures were involved, too. It made her smile.

The Timelords voice returned solemnly when he talked about Signora Calvierri though, face scrunched up in frustration. But he quickly started smiling, trying to hide what he was feeling towards that from her.

Agnes hummed in thought.

"Sounds about right."

The Timelord looked amused at her comment. "Oh, does it?" She nodded. "Yeah."

It was nice. Talking to the Doctor without an adventure around the corner, just the calm and quiet of the Tardis surrounding them. Agnes would have enjoyed leaning against one of the pillars and just watch the Timelord work on his repairs or maybe it was improvements, who knew? But who knew how long she'd have until the next adventure and she'd still have to have to clear some things up.

"So…" She shrugged, not really sure how to start "Are you planning to have some sort of talk with me or not?"

And the Doctor had definitely planned that, she could tell by the way he was looking at her when she asked that question. He put away his tools and climbed out of the swing to instead sit down on the floor next to her. Crossing his legs and facing her.

"How are you feeling?"

Not expecting he'd start with this, Agnes stared at him. She didn't know how to answer, so she just chose to go with her first thought."I- uh, I don't know. How am I supposed to feel?"

The Doctor smiled.

"I don't think there's a guide to emotions."

"Ah, shit. That's too bad," Agnes joked and The Doctor's smile turned sad. She didn't like that. "But for real, it's cool. Meeting you and all. No, stop that, no grinning at me like that!"

He didn't look sorry at all about how flattered and satisfied with himself he looked whenever Agnes said anything about liking him or thinking he was cool. It happened back in the Byzantium, too.

The girl hit his shoulder and he yelped, rubbing the spot as he pouted at her.

"Anyways. It's still bloody insane"

"Language."

"Give it up! It's…this is a different universe. How did that even happen?"

Agnes knew expecting answers from the Doctor was a hopeless endeavour, but she figured she could at least try. Because how did that even happen? Jumping through the time vortex unprotected was one thing? The Doctor's universe was crazy, vast and complicated even. But the question of how she'd gotten here, to begin with. It was left unanswered.

"I fear that's a spoiler."

She couldn't hold in the groan. Of course, he'd say that. Didn't she already suspect that?

"Oh, come on!"

"It is!" He waved with his finger, pointing it at her and then at himself. "You'll find that out later, I can't just tell you!"

"Yes, you can! You just don't want to."

"Agnes!"

"Doctor!"

The Doctor let out a sigh, averting his glance to look up in the air instead, face set in an unreadable expression. Agnes frowned at him.

"Maybe we should talk about our rules now…"

She cocked her head to the side, looking him up and down."Our rules or your rules?" The Doctor ignored her question.

"Rule Number One," he started but Agnes interrupted, quickly, pointing at him as she shouted, "The Doctor lies."

He glared at her.

"Agnes!"

"I'm sorry, it's your fault, you say it all the time!"

Giving her another serious look, one that said "Let me talk already!" he started again. "Rule Number One, you stick by me. This one is mostly for your first few weeks here."

Okay, she guessed that was okay. She didn't like being treated like a child but she knew around this place, this place referring to this reality, and it wouldn't be too bad to stay with The Doctor during adventures…for now.

She signalled him to continue and rolled her eyes at how self-satisfied he looked with her silent compliance.

"Rule Number Two, no spoilers! You're not allowed to tell me anything about my future and I can't tell you anything about yours either."

"That's stupid!" Agnes denied, earning a sigh from The Doctor. Yeah, he had probably expected her to argue about this one. Good. This let her know that her future self was still in her right mind. "Not everything is a spoiler! Some stuff is completely unimportant, like, "I don't know if I told you you're going to change your bowtie next adventure."

Now she's never seen a man look this offended before by something as trivial as the change of bowtie colour but she guessed the Doctor was special like that.

"Agnes!" He hissed and yes he was looking at her with wide eyes. As if he couldn't believe she would do something like that.

Agnes looked at him, eyebrows pulled together and mouth opened in a gap, hoping she looked as annoyed as she felt.

"For christ sake, I was joking. But don't act like that was time changing information."

"You don't understand," The Doctor argued, "Some things may not seem trivial to you, but they could still have enormous effects on our future, yours and mine. And the universes, too!"

Okay, now he was joking for sure. He couldn't be serious about this.

"You have to go by the rules! It's vital to the existence of the universe!"

Okay, maybe he was serious about this.

"Fine, I'll try, okay…maybe." He let out a frustrated groan. His fault, if he wanted to be this dramatic about it. "How many rules are there anyway? I'm gonna lose track."

"Just one more. It's the most important one," he promised, face solemn.

Agnes nodded, gesturing for him to go on. Now, this one she was curious about. More important than no spoilers? What could it be?"

"You have to trust me."

She blinked.

"Huh?"

The Doctor inched closer, reaching for her shoulders as he looked at her with an intensity she wasn't yet used to. Hell, she didn't know if she'd ever get used to that.

"It's important, Agnes, that you trust me. I wasn't lying before. It's vital for the safety of the universe."

She swallowed thickly, her throat closing up.

"…You're just being dramatic."

But she wasn't sure. She couldn't be when he was looking at her with the intensity of a Timelord, asking her for her trust as if their lives depended on it. And maybe it did, she couldn't know.

"No, Agnes. It's true," He looked desperate, hands gripping her face now, "And sometimes it's going to be hard. Sometimes I can't tell you the truth and sometimes you'll be angry with me…more often than not, I assume. But you have to trust me. You just have to."

And Agnes couldn't bear that look in his eyes, so raw, so vulnerable. She wanted it to stop.

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Yeah, I trust you."

He smiled then, shoulders sacking as he breathed out a sigh of relief. And then he kissed her forehead again. She returned his smile, gently poking his chest and he laughed.

"Okay, one question, though," she added, a smile slowly turning into a grin.

"Shoot."

"The jumping."

"Yeah?"

"Does it look cool when I do it? Like David Rice?"

The Doctor was grinning, too, shaking his head a little at her question. But he just looked amused. And like he'd expected something like that from her. As if he knew Agnes enough to know what she'd been thinking about.

And yes, it was a little weird. But it was also kinda nice.

—

"Just one trip!"

Agnes grinned widely at the Doctor standing in front of her with a serious expression on his face. He had his finger raised and looked down at her with furrowed eyebrows. Agnes could not take him seriously.

"One trip. That's it. You stay by my side at all times! You leave my side and I'll drag you back to the Tardis, you hear me?"

Agnes, despite everything, nodded enthusiastically, not really all too worried about that part. She had her hand already on the doorknob of the Tardis, jumping from one foot to the other in excitement of experiencing something new for once. An adventure. With the Doctor of all people. And Amy and Rory.

He was still holding the door closed with his one hand, looking down at her as if he was exasperated at how little Agnes seemed to care about his stern face and serious words. She heard Amy behind them let out an annoyed groan.

"Stop it, Doctor. She's gonna be fine now, get on with it."

Agnes agreed with Amy, turning her head back to smile at her widely and the redhead winked at her. And the Timelord let out a sigh, giving up on whatever hope he's had to get a point across, before he removed his hand and Agnes ripped open the door, stumbling all over herself in an attempt to get out and breathe in some fresh air for the first time in almost a week.

The Doctor, that scaredy-cat, had kept her inside for 6 days. 6 days. Agnes had to practically beg him on her knees (and threaten him with shaving all his hair off in his sleep) until he finally gave in and agreed to go on an adventure and take her with them. He was worried about her and Agnes thought it was annoying. She wasn't a child. She was almost an adult for bloody fucks.

The girl's feet hit solid ground and her nostrils were filled with the smell of a forest, as she stepped out. Agnes looked around wide-eyed. In front and around them were trees, the biggest trees she's ever seen before, decorated with leaves in the most fascinating colours.

"It looks like autumn!" she whispered excitedly, spreading her fingers to catch one of the falling leaves in between her fingers, looking down at the vibrant purple in fascination.

The Doctor came to stand next to her, looking over her shoulder and he smiled widely. He reached out to take the leaf from her hand and spun it around in his fingers and Agnes' eyes almost bulged out of her head as it started twinkling as the light reflected on it. This was so pretty.

"The planet's called Eosmak. It's the sixth planet in the star system of Amitan, around 500 light-years away from earth. The position of the planet makes it Autumn all year long."

Agnes grinned widely, liking the sound of that. She loved autumn. Thinking about it, The Doctor was probably well aware of that and probably tried to get on her good side after being an annoying mother hen for the past week. She'd think about forgiving him…maybe.

Amy came up from behind them, eyes furrowed deeply as she watched the leaf in fascination as well. Then she looked up at the Doctor with a teasing smile.

"So Agnes gets her first proper Alien Planet without asking while I had to beg ya?"

Agnes snorted in amusement.

"Wasn't the Byzantium crash on an alien planet as well?"

Amy rolled her eyes.

"Yeah but that doesn't count since it was just you popping out of nowhere and not a proper trip. This though…" she waved around, "Alien Planet. And a lot prettier than the last one."

Agnes wanted to agree because it was, opening her mouth to throw back a witty remark nonetheless but the words died in her throat, instead, a wheeze escaped her lungs.

The Doctor and Amy turned towards her in alarm.

She wanted to tell them she was fine, probably just messed up on breathing or something but instead, she doubled over in pain, holding her stomach. It felt like somebody had just punched the air out of her. Her sight grew blurry again and the colourful leaves at her feet swam into a mix of colours.

"Is she okay? Agnes? Amy, do you…" She heard Rory's voice from behind them.

Amy shushed him and the Doctor grabbed for Agnes' shoulder, helping her sit down on the ground.

"Wha-" she coughed out, her ears started ringing and fuck, what was going on she was getting really scared.

"You're about to jump."

"Bloody fuck, does it always feel so shit?" she heaved out, bending over and groaning out in pain.

"Only the first time."

"Wasn't the last one my first time?"

The Doctor just smiled at her, rubbing circles on her back.

"You gotta take deep breaths in."

She laughed, but that only made her head hurt.

"Agnes."

She started taking deep breaths, it didn't help with the pain but…it felt like something was building up in her. Something expanding in her chest, a warmth...no it was burning.

She pressed her eyes shut.

"Doctor, it hurts. I don't want to leave you."

"You won't. Remember? It's my time stream, you'll be somewhere very close to me."

He was still rubbing circles on her back and the feeling grew, expanded and made her chest hurt.

She opened her eyes to look at the Doctor one last time, opening her mouth to ask him what he means with close and then she was pulled back.
