Part Eighteen
Saturday found Spike and Xander in a pretty lazy mood. They stayed at the club until it closed before calling a cab to take them back to the hotel. They got into bed and watched some infomercials before falling asleep.
It was almost noon when they woke up. Xander had rolled over and draped an arm over Spike's waist and hooked his leg around Spike's.
"What are you doing?" Spike asked amused.
"You're planning on getting up. I don't want you to." Xander nuzzled his face into the crook of Spike's neck.
A shiver went down Spike's spine when Xander's hot breathe tickled his skin. "We can't stay in bed all day, Xan."
"My eyelids say different." They had practically danced the whole night. His body ached a bit.
"But if we stay in bed all day we can't go into the hot tub," Spike said.
Xander's head popped up. "Hot tub?"
"Mmm hmm."
Throwing the blanket off his body Xander slid out of bed. "What are you still doing in bed, lazy bone?" He ignored the raised eyebrow. "I'm going to take a quick shower, we'll go down to the restaurant for a bite to eat and then the rest of the day we are pool bound!"
Xander in his swim trunks the majority of the day? How could Spike say no to that? Spike pushed the covers down his body before stretching. "Move that cute arse of yours. I need a shower myself."
Why did Spike love to torture Xander by looking so sexy? It wasn't fair. He stood there just staring at Spike.
"Waiting for me to join you?" Spike asked sitting up, tilting his head slightly.
With an audible 'eep' Xander scampered into the bathroom leaving a chuckling Spike behind.
Lunch had been quick. They each had gotten a salad, neither of them wanting to wait any longer for food than necessary. After paying for their meal, they rushed back up to their room to change before heading down to the pool. It was surprisingly quiet. Only one other family was there. The kids were in the pool while the adults sat poolside on their phones.
"Looks like the hot tub is all our for now." Spike went over a turned on the jets before getting in. He sighed in content as he sat down, sliding down and resting his neck on the lip of the tub.
Xander looked around spotting the pile of clean towels. Going over he grabbed a couple before joining Spike. "Lift your head."
Spike did as he was told and Xander placed a towel behind Spike's before telling him to lean back again.
The soft towel undeniably felt better on Spike's neck. "Genius, pet."
"We don't want kinks in our necks if we're trying to relax." Xander sat close to Spike, leaving some space between the two but close enough for them to hold hands under the water. They listened to the kids play and splash in the pool. "Want to go into the pool in a little bit? When we get back in the hot tub it's going to feel so good."
Spike felt his heart start to race. "I can't."
"I don't think they'd have the water too cold."
"No, I mean I can't swim," the words barely made it out of his mouth.
Xander was confused for a second until the words sunk in. "You never learned how to swim?"
Spike squeezed Xander's hand. "My mum put me in private swimming lessons when I was five. The teacher came highly recommended. I was a stubborn kid… yeah I'm still stubborn. My first and only lesson I refused to get in the pool. I didn't care that she was going to be right there with me, never letting go. She offered water wings and I just crossed my arms and ignored her. Tired of waiting she picked me up and threw me into the pool."
"Oh my God," Xander said in a hushed tone. How could she do that to a kid?"
"Some sort of tough love?" Spike guessed. "I can remember flailing my arms trying to keep my head above the water. She was yelling at me to kick my legs. I don't know how long I was trying to tread water for but my parents came back early to see how everything was going. Dad jumped into the pool and fetched me out while my mum yelled at the teacher. Mum called the police."
Xander's body felt hot and it wasn't because of the water. He didn't think he'd ever felt so angry in his life. "What happened to her?"
"I don't remember much after that but dad told me when I was older that I wasn't the only kid she did that to I was just the first one to get her caught. She ended up going to prison for child negligence."
"Good." Xander pressed his lips against Spike's forehead. "I'm so sorry that happened to you. If you ever want to learn I'm a really good swimmer. I won't let go of you."
Spike wrapped his arm around Xander and pulled him onto his lap. The family that had been there left while Spike told his story. "Don't let go of me anyway."
"Never, baby."
Happy with the response Spike pulled Xander in for a kiss.
The boys didn't leave the pool area until six and that was because they were hungry. When they got to their room they ordered a large meat lovers pizza extra cheesy. They watched The Big Bang Theory as they ate but Spike could tell Xander wasn't paying attention. He didn't laugh when Sheldon yelled 'bazinga' while being chased by Leonard in the ball pit.
"What's going on in that head of yours?"
"Have you had sex?" Xander asked.
Spike blinked, taken back by the question. "I.., erm. I have."
"Oh."
Oh? That was it? An 'oh'? What was Spike supposed to make of that? "Why do you ask, Xan?"
Xander kept his eyes on the T.V even though all his attention was on Spike. "I was just thinking I've never done it before so I was curious if you had."
"How do you feel about me having sex?" Was Xander going to be jealous? Hurt?
Taking a deep breathe Xander turned and looked at Spike. "It makes me feel relieved."
"What?" Spike did not see that coming.
"I want to have sex with you."
