Epilogue

The rest of the school year had been a lot more peaceful. Xander had started sitting with Spike and the others. Larry left him alone. It looked like what Cordelia said that day finally knocked some sense into him.

Harmony had tried a couple times to charm her way between Xander and Spike but Xander nipped that in the bud real fast. Harmony would huff every time Xander sat with them. What was so great about him anyway?

Xander ended up asking Spike to prom in front of the whole school. It wasn't anything fancy just a blue poster board with 'Baby, please come to prom with me' written in black marker with a lot of coloured in hearts. Spike hadn't even pretended to think about it. He pulled Xander against him kissing him, something they still didn't do in public very often.

Prom had been amazing. They had picked out each others tuxes, went to a fancy restaurant and took a limo to the dance just like Spike had wanted. While they were with a group of people Xander only danced with Spike, the same went for Spike except for a couple dance with Cordelia much to Harmony's dismay.

Graduation was good. Xander couldn't believe that he had actually finished school. There were so many times he had thought about dropping out. Cordelia threw a graduation party, Spike and Xander only stuck around for a few hours. The next day they were going to pack up their stuff and the day after that moving to L.A.

Spike had told Cordelia to keep in touch and if she was ever in their neck of the woods they should get together. Cordelia told him she would definitely be back this way before giving him and even Xander a hug.

Xander had gone to the cinema to pick up his last cheque and to say goodbye to Bill. Even though Bill knew Xander would never return to this one horse town he told Xander not to be a stranger as he gave him a hug. Bill had also given Xander a glowing recommendation letter for whatever job he decided to apply for.

Now the boys stood in the middle of the apartment all of their stuff packed and in the U-Haul. It didn't look like much was gone, all the furniture was staying for the next tenants.

"No second thoughts about leaving Sunnydale?" Spike asked even though he knew the answer.

"Hell no. I've been waiting for this moment since I was ten." Xander turned and looked at Spike with a big smile. "I'm just glad I'm not doing it alone. I am going to miss the apartment though."

Spike looked around the apartment. They had a lot of great moments here. A lot of memories that he doubted either would forget. "Me too, luv,"

Xander cleared his throat as he felt it tighten up. "Let's go home, baby."

"Yeah," Spike said with a sniffle. Neither of them wanted to get emotional.

They left the building and climbed into the U-haul. Spike had returned the motorcycle the day before, He'd look at getting another one in L.A. He started up the truck and they started to drive off.

Xander placed his hand on Spike's leg who automatically placed his hand on Xander's.

As they passed the 'Now Leaving Sunnydale' sign they were both ready to see what the future had in store for them. Whatever it was they were in it together.

The End
