A/N: I tried to make this longer but it just didn't turn out. Ah well, still a nice chapter.

Enjoy!

Jinenji ran a claw lightly through Morohas dark hair. The baby's eyes rolled back in her head as she fought sleep before refocusing back on him only to stare at him as if he were a million miles away.

Sucking on her thumb he rocked her gently in his hand running his claw from her scalp to her forehead. All of his children were special but Moroha had been born on his human day.

He delivered her being the first person to hold his baby in his hands. That made her a different type of special in his eyes. Finally closing her eyes as she furiously sucked on her thumb Jinenji couldn't help but smirk.

"Beautiful girl. Do you know how much I love you?" He whispered. Lowering his face to the top of her small head he nuzzled her hair breathing in her scent.

Placing her down on her futon to and covering her with a blanket he turned to Kagome who was teaching Sumiko and Kuro how to count.

"I'm thinking about asking Miroku if he wouldn't mind tutoring them properly." Kagome said as if in thought.

"You're doing a fine job educating our children Kagome." Jinenji complimented.

"My knowledge is not right for this time. I want them to learn how to read and write, do arithmetic but it's different here from how I was taught." Turning towards him she gave a small shrug. "I want them to learn the correct dictation and mechanics, at least with their academics."

"I have no objection if you want to ask Miroku." Nodding his head he understood where she was coming from. What good would it do to teach them one of doing things when the rest of the world operated on an entirely different system.

"Hey Pa?" Sumiko said looking up st her father. "Are you all done with sissy now?"

"Yes, why?" Smiling widely as she bounded over to him climbing in his lap and laying across one of his hands.

"I'm the baby now." Giggling she stretched her feet to his wrist and kicked her legs and made a mock cry.

"You're silly. You're a big girl now Sumiko, in your fourth year. It wasn't that long ago though that you were our only baby." Jinenji reminisced. "Do you know how scared I was the day you were born? I was so worried about you and mama. Then Baachan put you in my hand and you were so tiny and I couldn't believe that you were my baby."

"I'm not remembering when I was a baby." She replied.

"None of us do but I remember and it was such a special time." Rocking her in a playful manner Sumiko thrilled laughing at the attention.

Kuro frowned standing and rushing over head butting Jinenji in the knee. "What's the matter buddy?" Kagome asked coming up behind him. "Jealous?"

Wrapping her arms around him she tickled his front forcing him to erupt in to belly laughs collapsing on the ground.

"Mama, again…again." He giggled out when she stopped.

"Hmmm, let me think about it…okay!" Tickling him again he playfully tried to fend her off and roll out of the way.

"Mama! Tickle me too!" Sumiko shouted jumping from Jinenjis hand to the ground throwing herself onto her mother.

"Oh my god, you're going to kill me." Kagome huffed out before grasping at her daughter making her laugh.

"Hey! It's my turn!" Kuro protested. Jinenji picked his son up and began to tease him.

"You can't play with them, you're just a baby." He said rocking Kuro.

"No Pa! No am not!" He shouted crawling away from his father before being scooped back up again.

"No, no baby. You can't go on the floor like that."

"Stop it Pa!" He began to laugh as Jinenji jostled him around. Before long Moroha was awoken by the noise giving off small whines before her deafening screams.

The family all stopped looking over at her guiltily.

"Why'd you wake up the baby Sumiko?" Kagome teased tickling her some more.

"No me mama! You did!"

"Nope, it wasn't me. It was your Pa." Kagome defended.

"Oh no, Kuro did it." Jinenji replied.

"Nuh-uh! It was you Pa!" He shouted. Both parents laughed as Jinenji placed Kuro down.

"Alright, I'll take the blame for it but you get to change the stinky diaper." He informed his son.

"No! Miko can do diapers." Kuro guffawed at the very notion.

"Kuro can't do diapers because he still has them." Sumiko taunted.

"Nuh-uh!" He fought back angrily.

"Okay, well..this is getting ugly." Kagome commented. Standing to get Moroha she shook her head laughing to herself. "Sibling rivalry at its finest."

"Sibling rivalry?" Jinenji questioned curiously.

"Yeah, when they fight for attention or start picking on one another…that's what it's called."

"Do all siblings fight?"

"I fought with my brother. Nothing crazy just made fun of each other, mostly me making fun of him." Kagome smirked to herself making herself comfortable against Jinenji to feed Moroha.

Even though she had already turned a year Kagome wanted to nurse her for as long as possible as she had felt so cheated out of nursing Kuro when her milk dried up.

"Then when they fight, that's normal." Jinenji looked to his children who were glaring daggers at the other.

"Yup. Completely. Did you ever wish you had a sibling?" Glancing up at her husband he nodded his head turning towards her.

"Yes. I don't know if my parents ever tried to have another child or not. I used to worry that maybe they didn't because of how I turned out."

"Or maybe you're very special and were the only one they could have."

"Maybe, who knows."

"Tell me about your father. What he was like."

"My Pa?"

"Yeah, your mom told me about him from time to time. Sesshomaru told me once that he knew of him and what type of demon he was but you don't really talk about him."

"It's hard, even after all of this time. He was my entire world, him and Ma. He always made sure we were taken care of and safe. Pa taught me all about farming and that no matter how I was treated to stay kind and not to let their cruelty make me bitter."

Placing his fingertips gently to Morohas head he took a deep breath. "I know I've said this before but I hope he can see us, that he knows about you and the kids."

"I'm sure he does." Kagome said. No sooner did she say it that one of the containers they held their rice in toppled over. Both staring at it and then looking to Sumiko and Kuro, there weren't anywhere near it. "And of course Fumiko too."

"You think Ma knocked our rice over?" Jinenji mused.

"Yeah I do." Moving away from her to pick it up he smirked to himself.

"Don't worry Ma, we miss you too." Jinenji smiled to himself as he righted the container.
