"Nothing like clean laundry smell." Kagome said taking the damp clothes from Sumiko as she handed them to her mother to hang.

"Is nice out Mama." Sumiko said happily. She was happy to help her mother with the laundry now that she was older.

"Isn't it? Very beautiful spring day." She agreed. "Today we clean them tomorrow we'll help your Pa and Kuro in the field."

"And get dirty!" Sumiko exclaimed excited.

"Yup, really dirty." Moving her head down she bumped her forehead to her daughters causing her to giggle.

"Mama, is Rin gonna help?" She asked.

"For now, yeah she will. Pretty soon though she won't be able to. It will be our job as the girls to take care of her and help out with the twins." Kagome said.

"Yeah, I'll help Rin." She nodded handing her mother the last garment to hang. Wiping her forehead Kagome sighed.

"There, all done." Wiping her hands down on her apron she watched as Sumiko turned her head to the path. "Is someone coming Sumiko?"

"Yeah." She said nodding her head. Looking to the field at Jinenji he had picked up Kuro to place him on his shoulder.

"Jinenji?" Kagome shouted out worriedly. Walking towards her he placed Kuro down in front of her.

"It's Inuyasha." He replied. Sighing out Kagome tensed somewhat. "Stay here with the kids." Nodding she placed a hand to Kuros shoulders as Sumiko pulled on her apron.

"Mama, is Inuyasha from your story about your 'ventures?" She questioned curiously.

"Yes sweet girl." Kagome answered.

"But Inuyasha's your friend. Why are you scared?" Sumiko asked. Adjusting Moroha who slept peacefully in her carrier she smiled reassuringly at her daughter.

Moving her gaze up she saw him coming, walking for a change instead of charging in as he normally did. Jaken was beside him as they walked.

Jinenji stood at the edge of the field at the beginning of their property. Just because he and Kagome had reconciled did not mean he wanted him on his land or around his family.

"Hey Jinenji, is Sesshomaru around? I have to talk with him." Inuyasha said not mincing words.

"Sumiko, tell Sesshomaru that Inuyasha is here to see him." He said glancing over his shoulder at his family.

"'Kay Pa." Sumiko complied going to the hut next door.

"She's getting big. First time I saw her she was just a baby." Inuyasha said as Jinenji chose to be silent. Sighing out he mumbled a, whatever, before falling quiet.

Sumiko exited following behind Sesshomaru as he walked to the edge of the property.

"What do you want Inuyasha?"

"I'm getting married and I wanted to invite whoever wants to come."

"Generally one writes a correspondence to announce such things." Sesshomaru stated.

"Yeah well, call me weird but I just thought I'd tell everyone here in person. My fiancé is in the village with Sango and Miroku, she wanted to come to meet everyone but glad I didn't bring her." Inuyasha said. "Jaken, give ''em the details."

Kagome took a breath and began to walk in his direction. "Inuyasha! Wait!" She called out. Looking up to see Kagome walking hurriedly across the field he saw why she wasn't running, she had a baby carrier on her back.

"Of course Jinenji and I will come to your wedding." She said as she stood next to her husband.

"We will?" Jinenji questioned turning his gaze down to her.

"Yeah, we will." Matching his gaze he looked away from her knowing they were probably going to fight over it later.

"Thanks Kagome." Offering her a small smile he looked at Sumiko who was leaning on the fence post kicking her feet as she hung onto it.

"Are you the really, real Inuyasha?"

"Uh, yeah." He answered. Breaking into a big smile she jumped down.

"Mama tells me and Kuro and Moha all your 'ventures."

"She's talking about when we were collecting the jewel shards and tracking Naraku." Kagome cleared up when he looked confused.

"Oh. I see. Well, if your parents let me I can tell you about adventures I've had without your mom." He said. Sumiko smiled even more widely.

"We'll see." Kagome stated.

"Right. Like I said, Jaken will fill you guys in and maybe see you." Giving a short wave to them all he walked back down the path to the village.

"When and where Jaken?" Sesshomaru questioned curtly.

"The summer mi'lord. At the western keep." Jaken said to the point.

"Hm." Turning to walk off he stopped as Jaken began to follow him.

"Lord Sesshomaru, is it isn't to much to ask might I stick around for a while? Pay my respects to Rin?" He asked timidly.

"Do as you please." Sesshomaru said which was his way of saying, yes."

"Thank you mi'lord! Thank you!" He said humbly following behind Sesshomaru.

"I'm sorry that I invited us to Inuyashas wedding." Kagome said once they were with just Sumiko.

"Sumiko, go inside with Kuro. Mama and I will be along shortly." He said just in case they did begin to argue, he didn't want their children to be privy to it.

"Yes Pa." She responded eyeing them carefully as she dragged her feet back towards the hut. "Come on Kuro." She said tugging at her younger brothers sleeve and glancing up at him.

"Miko?" He looked to her in question.

"Pa told us to go in." She replied softly.

"'Kay." Following her inside Jinenji turned his attention back to his wife.

"I just don't want you to get hurt." He said carefully.

"Why would I get hurt?"

"Kagome, every time Inuyasha is around he causes nothing but trouble. The last time you were so upset you laid in bed for days." He stated. "I can understand that you want to support him and that you want to ignite a friendship with him again but I think it's a bad idea."

"You're not wrong." She replied sighing. "I can't help it. Even though he told me that he never loved me I still loved him and I want so badly for us to be fixed…but you're absolutely right. We won't go."

Jinenji lowered himself down to her taking her into his arms and nuzzling against her. Burying her face against him she took a ragged breath.

"All I want is for you to be safe and happy. We can't have that with him coming around." Jinenji said.

"I know." She agreed. "Don't worry husband, we won't go." He felt her sag into him and knew that with Inuyasha close by Kagomes mood was tanking.

"Come on my love." He said taking Moroha from the baby carrier to cradle her as he picked her up as well. "I'll make dinner."

"Thank you sweetie." She whispered snuggling into him.

A/N: So, it was never my intent to make Inuyasha a bad guy in this story and I didn't want for it to go down like this but Kagome just can't handle being around him and at this point Jinenji just flat out doesn't trust him.

Inuyasha is trying to mend the bridges he burned but maybe some aren't meant to be fixed. Time will tell.
