A/N: Hello. I know last chapter got some people riled up and I totally agree, they both need to let it all go. So, lets see how that goes...enjoy!

"Kagome, you told Inuyasha you would go to his wedding." Sango chastised as she told her and Rin what had happened.

"I know." Kagome wrung her hands together.

"And now you're not." She continued.

"Sango, I want to…I do but Jinenji is still furious with him. This is just something that I don't feel like fighting over." Kagome replied. "This thing between us and with Inuyasha could break our marriage."

"Kagome, I am going to tell you this in a way you will understand," Rin said slowly, "You both need to get over yourselves."

"Get over ourselves?" Kagome was taken aback at the way Rin said it.

"Yes. Listen, the past is the past. Did Inuyasha screw up? Yes. Did he do things he should not have, certainly but you need to be the bigger person." She chided Kagome. "At the very least you need to tell him that you are not attending and why."

"You owe him that much Kagome." Sango said crossing her arms.

"I don't owe him a damn thing!" Kagome fired back. "He wasted my time, trampled on my heart and for what? He never loved me." Taking in Sangos expression she bit her lower lip. "What?"

"Damn it all," Sango looked away, "Yes. He did. He told you that to let you go. So you would be free. The last time he was here and he saw what happened to you…the panic and the fear just at seeing him caused, Kagome he lied to you so you could get over him."

"That's not…true." Feeling the hot tears burn in her eyes she stared at her longtime friend.

"He told Miroku, who told me." Kagome felt weak in the knees suddenly. Nodding her head a few times she turned towards the village and began walking towards it.

Concerned Sango and Rin followed behind her. Moving past other villagers and their huts she went towards the tree by the stream except Inuyasha wasn't there.

Walking further she went to the well and finally the sacred tree with Inuyasha nowhere in sight. Staring up at it she sighed.

"Hey." Turning she saw him standing some feet away from her. It was as if time had flung her back into the past as she ran to him flinging her arms around his shoulders.

"Inuyasha!" Catching her with one arm he stared at her for a moment before relaxing. "I'm sorry but I don't know if I'll be able to make it to your wedding. I'll try but I can't make any promises."

"I figured as much. Look, I don't wanna cause any more problems between you and Jinenji." He said. "You both have a good thing going and I won't ruin that."

Sniffling she backed off from him somewhat. "I want to be friends again. I miss you. It just will take some time."

"I'd like that." Inuyasha replied sincerely. "Don't sweat it, alright Kagome?"

"Okay." Nodding she wiped at her eyes. "I wish you the best on your big day. Congratulations to you and your bride."

"Thanks. You wanna meet her?"

"Yeah, I do." Leading her back towards the village she took a deep breath to calm her nerves.

Tora was from the coyote pack that Inuyasha had previously been attempting to form an alliance with. With their union it would mean a great deal of support and respect as lord of the western lands to join with them.

She was nice enough, she certainly had a strong personality and was not afraid to speak her mind. Kagome couldn't tear her eyes away from her pretty violet orbs as she spoke.

Bidding farewells and apologizing in advance if she were not able to attend their wedding ceremony she felt a calm that she hadn't thought possible.

Finally she had her closure.

Walking back to the herb farm with Rin by her side she took a breath.

"What are you going to do?" Rin questioned. Glancing at her friend she sighed.

"I'm going to talk to Jinenji and explain to him how much it means to me to go. I think I need this to be really free from my past with Inuyasha." Kagome thought out.

"I agree." Nodding her head Rin gave her shoulder a few pats even though she had to reach up to do so. "Whatever happens, I'm here."

"Thank you Rin. I know you are." Parting ways Kagome walked to her husband as he sat by their hut watching the twins chase Moroha around, albeit they had slowed down considerably to allow her unsteady gait time to catch them. "Where's the other two?"

"Sumiko is with Sesshomaru and Kuro is inside." He replied his eyes falling on her. "Why do you smell like Inuyasha?"

"I talked with him. I told him that I didn't think I would be able to make his wedding."

"Alone?"

"No." Sitting beside her husband she shook her head. "Rin and Sango were both with me. I met his fiancé, she's definitely going to give him a run for his money."

Jinenji remained silent as she felt him tense beside her. "The truth is, I want to go to their wedding Jinenji. I need to go, if I am ever to just get over this then I need to."

"I will not tell you what you can and cannot do but you know where I stand on this Kagome." Looking down at her he saw the resolve in her pretty blue eyes. Closing his own he felt her hand against his wrist.

"I do. Please, don't think for one minute that I don't. Your reasons are totally valid but I need this for me. I need to forgive and forget. If seeing him married off to someone else doesn't do that then…I don't think anything would." She said.

"I am so worried that you'll leave and never come back." He admitted looking at her earnestly. "That this is just a trick, that the two of you have been behind my back this entire time to be cruel."

"No my dear heart…" Staring at him with her mouth slightly agape she swallowed hard.

"I know that but I can't help it, these thoughts."

"Rin can't go because of how far along she is. Sesshomaru I think has to. I'll leave the kids here with you if you want, Sango and Miroku will both be with me…and when it's over I'll come back." She said. "Then we can get on with our lives. Our wonderful, beautiful life that we have made."

Taking a deep breath Kagome watched as he seemed at war with himself. "Alright. Alright Kagome." He finally relented. "I'll stay here with the kids and Rin, keep them safe."

"Thank you sweetheart." She cuddled against him wanting the entire affair to be done already.
