"Mama, when you comin' back?" Kuro asked concerned.

"I'll be back in time for you to turn three. Don't worry buddy." Leaning down slightly she hugged her son kissing the top of his head.

"It's not fair!" Sumiko sat on the ground crying and kicking her feet. "Why's mama get to go with 'Shomeru and not Miko?"

"First off, I do not understand what little girls see in Sesshomaru," Kagome said tying off her clothes to carry on her back. "Secondly, I need you to stay here with Pa and Rin. Help take care of the twins. Rin's going to have her baby in a few weeks and she needs your help."

"Ma. Ma!" Moroha yelled out putting her hands up to her mother.

"Not you too." Picking her daughter up she smiled at Jinenji. "I'm never going to get out of here."

"I certainly won't object." He replied. Kagome sighed shaking her head.

"And with that…I'm off." Placing Moroha down before kissing her cheek receiving a giggle. She tried to hug Sumiko only to have her inch away reminding her of her father. "Okay fine, be like that."

Walking out she met up with Sesshomaru who was saying goodbye to his own family. Kagome watched as Setsuna clung to him and Towa bawled from Rins arms reaching for him.

"Papa! No!" She sniffled. Prying Setsuna off of him and holding her out to Rin by the back of her kimono she whimpered.

"You will both stay here with your mother." He said sternly but not without deep affection in his voice for his children. "Assist Sumiko in caring for her."

"Safe travels my lord." Rin smiled at him as she gathered Setsuna in her free arm. "We will be here when you return."

Nodding his head at his wife he met Kagome at the edge of the field. Jaken trailed close behind him eagerly, clearly excited to be back by his side.

Going into the village Kagome became excited. She felt as if she were going on an adventure with her friends, the way they used to years before.

Her old gang was back together again with Sesshomaru and Jaken along for the ride. Sango and Miroku were bringing their children to travel atop Kirara as Kagome would ride on An-Un.

Inuyasha and Tora had gone ahead opting to travel alone together. While Kagome was a bit disappointed that they would not all travel as a group she understood.

The western keep was not as far off as she had thought as it took only a day and a half of travel to get to. It was impressive with a village at its base with mostly demons it seemed but she could make out a few humans.

"A demon and human village." She said to herself as she gripped the dragons reigns. With practiced ease they flew lower to the ground coming to the front gate of the compound.

Kirara followed suit with Sesshomaru and Jaken landing in front of them as Jaken had been holding onto the fur draped across Sesshomarus shoulder.

"Open up for Lord Sesshomaru and the wedding party." Jaken commanded. The gate was brought up and Kagome marveled at it. It reminded her of the architecture she had seen from her text books in medieval England.

Granted they were in the right time period she had just not seen anything like it in Japan before. "This is different from other castles." She commented. "It looks like what they have in Europe."

"You know of that part of the world?" Sesshomaru questioned.

"Yes. In the future many students go abroad to travel at one of their prestigious universities." She said.

"My father chose this design to bring Inuyashas mother here to better protect her. This has always been Inuyashas." Sesshomaru replied.

"Oh." Kagome stated glancing around. Dismounting from the dragons when they stopped they were greeted by a couple of servants as well as stable men to take An-Un and Kirara off to be taken care of.

"Lord Sesshomaru, welcome home." The demon female said bowing respectfully along with the other identical to her.

"I am no longer your lord and this is not my home." He said in his way walking past them. Remaining as they were until he passed them by both straightened out.

"We will show all of you and your young ones to your chambers. Lord Inuyasha and Lady Tora will join you all for a meal once you have freshened up." The first one said.

"Please, this way." The second stated more demurely than her twin. Following them in Sango kept a close eye on Miroku as he stared at anything other than the two attractive demoness's in front of them.

Kagome stifled a giggle shaking her head to herself. Some things never did change.
