New chapter! Suddenly felt like updating it, so did my best to make it different and interesting. Also, thank you Kiri for the review, I will keep your suggestions in mind. Every review from you guys will be fuel to continue writing on this, because as I mentioned it is not my main story right now. But seeing it being added to a community, and even a solitary review, is enough for me to feel creative. Thank you, enjoy reading!
Chapter 4: Detour.
Completely broke. Lyra is totally carrying this journey on her back. And I don't care. No shame whatsoever.
Making our way to Cherrygrove once more, I caught nothing, as Pidgey and Rattata seemed so ordinary. Afterall, I do have the advantage of huge knowledge about this world. Not to mention a dozen playthroughs of Platinum. This is the reason why I decided to wait for nightfall, so I could catch a Hoothoot. It seemed a bit more special, and unlikely to be a Pokémon that anyone would have.
Also, I needed a fucking Pokémon as I had none. Eve was useless. Cute but useless. Lyra was not, as her Trisha and Lucky smashed through every weak wild Pokémon eyeing us down. Plenty of experience for them. Good. Keeping the nice vibe and easy conversations between us, even if Lyra talks way too much nonsense for my liking, but I have become good at zoning it out.
We then slept in for a couple hours in Cherrygrove and bought the essentials before I woke Lyra up to go hunt for a HootHoot in the forest. Safe to say, she didn't like the idea, but when I made my way out the door alone, I heard her make a cute little irritated sound and then run after me.
So now we are out all alone, looking for Pokémon.
"I really don't think we should be out at night Gold…. I mean, even Trisha is shaking, and she is like our only frontier against…. Whatever may be out here", Lyra voices her concerns as we traverse the woods outside of Cherrygrove in search of a HootHoot.
At one point I thought I heard one, so I stopped abruptly, having Lyra collide right into my back and then screech loudly in fear…. Her huge breast and stiff nipples pressing into my back, was a good feeling only for a second before I scowl at her, for being a fool. Every HootHoot in this area will have heard that and ran the fuck away.
"Lyra, could you please relax, and use your flashlight to light around, instead of just walking right behind me?", I ask her a bit annoyed. I like Lyra, I really do, but man is she a girl. And I mean that with the upmost respect.
"But every new trainer handbook says to not venture out in the dark, when you are rookie trainers wh-", I shush her. Hard. Having her look a bit sad at me, but I try to send her a soothing gaze just to let her know, that it is strictly for our safety. No need to alert every creature of our presence.
Sure, I fancy myself kind of a Pokémon expert based off the game, but I don't know how rough this world really is. So far, I get the feeling it is pretty gritty and dangerous, compared to how the games portrays 10-year-olds casually walking around amongst monsters. Eve is sleeping in my bag, and Trisha is out looking scared while lucky just runs around oblivious to us being out in the dark. Looks like he really enjoys it actually. Personally I wanted them to stay in their balls so we could look around without them interrupting, but I guess it is kind of smart to have them out if anything should attack us.
It makes Lyra feel safer too.
Finally I spy a HootHoot with my flashlight, and as it opens its giant round eyes and set them on me, I stand completely still, trying to calm it down.
"Gold…", Lyra whispers into my ear, almost in a sensual way, as she yanks my blouse. I try to pull back my arm and tell her silently to be quiet, but she is just living in her own little world.
"What do we do now?", she continues, now standing almost comically still on one leg, after I pulled my hand back. Meaning she got the message, but now overplays it, while still making sounds that the HootHoot can so very clearly hear.
"Wait a second…", I reply, as I slowly pull out my Pokédex and scan the creature eyeing me curiously. The Dex gives me a lot of information about the species as a whole, but nothing about its nature or anything, which I was kind of hoping I could learn, before I waste a Pokéball on it.
Ideally Calm would be the best nature for a HootHoot, as it would increase its special defense, which is very helpful for a HootHoot, who probably wont need the attack stat in the long run. At least not if the move sets are updated to the later versions of themselves…. Am I overthinking this shit?
"Cawk!"
Oh no, what now?
"Ah, what was that sound!?", Lyra yell out, having my targeted HootHoot fly off right infront of me. Bummer, but it might get even worse now.
No telling what sound that was, as these Pokemon don't really say their own name, like in the Animé. They are much more like real animals from my previous world…. Wait, was I an animal lover? Did I own a dog? I seem like the person who could own a dog… Like a Pitbull or something. Definitely not a cat person. Or was I?
Before I can even answer Lyra, or find the source of the cawing sound, some talons sweep down and snatch my PokéDex right out of my hand, and then fly off, leaving me stunned. Lyra even propelled herself to the ground in fear as she yelped.
A Murkrow.
"Oh no, Gold, we have to get away!", Lyra mumbles as she lies down on the ground, while I see the back of this fucking Murkrow fly away easily with my PokéDex. I am getting it back, and then im catching this little shit.
"It´s okay Lyra, its just a Murkrow, I got you", I tell her sweetly as I pick her up off the ground, and the girl is actually shaking. She is about to speak when I pull her by the hand, and we start running after the perpetrator.
"Bu-But-Wait!", she stammers while both of us run full speed, though she slows me down significantly. Short legs and big booty, you know how it is… Me however, I am a physical specimen build for speed!
"There!", I cut her off, as she almost fall head forward from me halting our running to point at the cheeky bastard.
"Cawk!", it mocks me from the tree, almost laughing by the way it vibrates out the sound, like a real bird.
Pokédex in its claws, as it pecks at the impenetrable screen, and I clench my fist, walking towards it, flashlight pointing straight at it, as it sits in a tall tree. This forest really is creepy, with all the creaking trees surrounding us. Random snapping branches, surely coming from other Pokémon in our vicinity, does not help the overall vibe either, and Lyra is feeling it too. She clutches unto me, kind of hampering my movement. I actually feel guilty for dragging her out into this, and making her scared, but now we are out here, and we might aswell make the best out of it.
"I really think we should go… I don't like this… Please", she pleads with me frightened, but I simply pull out my hand for the Murkrow.
"Okay, that was fun, but the game is over, now hand it over", I Tell it sternly.
If this is anything like the Animé then Pokémon are highly intelligent creatures who understand peoples every word. I certainly get that feeling with Eve. She seems to react to whatever I may say, and act accordingly. Maybe she is just clever, I don't know, but we don't really have any long-range weapon in our team, so we have to just ask it….
It almost cackles at me? And then flies right at us.
Fortunately my reflexes, in this body is apparently a clear 10 out of 10. Shaped like a Greek God Sculpture, that should be no surprise to anyone…. Lyra on the other hand…
Yeah, I dodge the attack, and in turn it smashes its wing into Lyra's chest… Well her boobs, lets be honest… So she hits the ground once more with a squeak, and her backpack simualtaneously flies open, having the Togepi Egg roll right out as Murkrow takes air again, and this is becoming a bad situation.
"My egg, Gold!", Lyra cries out.
Now, Honchkrow did drop my PokéDex upon his attack, so I quickly pick it up first thing, but then he grabs a hold of the fairly big egg, and flies low through the forest. I wanted to run after him, but I can't abandon Lyra here. Poor girl. Of course, she could just learn to duck, but whatever.
"Fuck, Lyra I am sorry are you alright?", I ask her gently, with her whimpering as a response. Okay no need to be dramatic…
"The egg Elm gave me…. Gosh, this is a disaster", she deflects, while dusting herself off and straightening out her back. Clutching her hurt boobs too...
"We will get it back. The crow is clearly fucking with us for laughs, so he wont fly too far away, just gotta keep going"
"Don't you know what it is, Gold?", she asks me wide-eyed, surely keeping my amnesia in mind as to not offend me with her questioning.
"It's a silly Murkrow?", I raise a cocky eyebrow at her, before picking up her Poufy Hat and shake the dirt off it, then sweetly putting it on her head. A bit too far down her eyes so she has to pull it up, but I can tell that she appreciates the gesture. Might aswell be nice to her, when she have literally followed me blindly into darkness. Also she has this innocence about her, making me want to do whatever she asks. Only true relation I have in this world too, so yeah.
"Murkrows are known to bring a heap of bad luck to whatever poor soul is unlucky enough to stumble upon them in the dark, you know that right? Its why I just lost my Togepi egg…And my body hurt, and-", she rambles a bit teary eyed over this whole situation.
I put both my hands on her shoulders, making her shut up, and look into my eyes. Admittedly I don't know much about lore in terms of how real the myths actually are in this world. Pokémon are magical creatures, so I suppose we cant rule out how real the hearsay about it bringing bad luck is, but cant think too much about it. Cant turn back either. Have to get back the egg.
"Poppycock", I grin at her as she almost looks offended, before realizing what it means and then sighing heavily, almost in defeat over this botched adventure.
"This is my fault, Lyra, I will fix it. Now, come on, he flew this way, I doubt he could get too far with that heavy egg", I reason to her, and making sure to display my sincerity with my eyes. She believes me, I can tell.
I even grasp unto her hand, this time less aggressive than when we was running. I just set a good pace and she saunters after me, holding on to my hand tightly, while both of us look out for the stupid crow. To make things worse I hear sniveling coming from my bag. Meaning Eve is awake. The small creature peeks her head up, and I pet her head in compassion as I tell her to go back to sleep. She looks around nervously, not understanding why we are walking in the dark.
Takes her no time to decide that hiding in my bag, is the best path for her to take here. A disapproving mewl and she is curling down the bottom of my longish backpack once more. With Lyra occasionally petting her, to make sure she is calm. She have also summoned back Lucky, as he was about to start running out to discover the forest. Trisha on the other hand, just stand right on edge. She have been on guard ever since Murkrow attacked Lyra. Really protective of her. Nice to see, but I just wish she had learned Razor Leaf or anything, so we had something to fire at the damn thing, if we see it again.
I feel Lyra groaning, clearly in pain from the tumble she took. I bet her titties are aching, taking a full wing attack right on them. Kind of funny when you think about it.
"Ya okay?" I ask concerned, as she clutches her right breast.
"It really got me good in… This region of my chest", she starts talking but think better of it, looking hella cute with her brain working overtime to reword the initial sentence, with her finger pointing circles around her right tit, as to punctuate the area in which it hurts.
I bite my lip from laughing mockingly at her, and though I can barely see her face unless I start pointing the flashlight at us, I am sure her forehead is creaking in annoyance over my stifled grin. She is just too sweet to ever point it out. I don't know why im such an asshole, who cant even contain his laugh, over a girl getting hit in the tit, but maybe I grew up with bad humor in my household? Your guess is as good as mine.
"Cawk!"
There he is.
Sitting on the ground, pecking at the egg. Even tilting his head as it discovers every inch of the egg, but I doubt it can be good for the Togepi within it, so I decide to intervene, right as it gets its eyes on us.
"Trisha tackle it!", I Call out to Chikorita who audibly disagree with me giving her the order, but Lyra staying silent ushers it to take speed towards the cocky bird.
I start worrying when it simply coos at the charging small pear-formed Pokémon, and with good reason too.. Murkrow simply Wing Attacks it to the side, having the fragile thing roll around and scream out in pain.
"Trisha, no! Gold, what now", Lyra continues to add absolutely nothing of substance to this dire situation. Man, this sucks.
Okay, seems I am gonna fight this thing myself!
I run at the Crow that I outsize easily. Already told you I am a pretty big man, with defined musculature. Beating a bird should be a cakewalk for me. Who ever said that you have to make Pokemon fight other pokémon anyway?
A smart man, it appears.
Because it starts flapping away with the egg, when I grab hold of its tail feather, and actually pull one out, having it cawk out in pain and drop the egg. I am about to drop down and take it when suddenly things turn pitch-black, and I feel myself getting dragged across the forest ground…. Yeah, this Bird-Brain just pulled my hoodie over my head, and then proceeded to punish my poor belly with scratches from being dragged on the hard ground, hitting several rocks on the way. Ouch.
A desperate wail leads me to believe that Eve jumped out of the bag in fear. Once I feel the strain on my hoodie relenting, I pull it down and look through the dark. I lost my Flashlight, so I am dependent on looking where Lyra is standing with her flashlight. She have returned Trisha to her Pokéball and stand defeated as she looks at the Murkrow, but then springs to action once she sees small little scared Eve run towards her, sobbing.
She pick up Eve, and in doing so she avoids the beak of Murkrow, who cackles in that very distinct way, taking air again.
I try to make my way up, and upon noticing my own flashlight I make my way over to it. Cant fight what we can't see.
"I am scared…", Lyra tells me in a low terrified tone, but I hear it, and I feel it in every fiber of my being. I just wanna stop this shit.
Another Cawk and I see Murkrow aiming towards Lyra who stands unable to move with Eve in her arms, awaiting the impact.
Of course like some stupid superhero I jump right infront of them, or more so on top of them. Making sure not to put my weight on them, yet still shielding them. Firstly feeling the Talons scratching through my clothes and penetrating my back, before a sharp peck hit the back of my head too. Hurts like hell…
"I love you, but sometimes it feels like you are in another world. You zone out everything, and just sit infront of that damn computer all day. This don't work anymore; I can't just watch as you waste your life"
Wait, what?
Hello?
What was that voice, and why does it seem so familiar?
I open my eyes after the attack and see Lyra's scared eyes beneath me, as she cowers with Eve, waiting for it to be over with. My whole body feels completely spend; however, the attack has clearly stopped.
But what just happened? I know Lyra didn't just say that, so who was it? What was it about?
Spacey.
I slowly turn my head back, and shakingly grab hold of my flashlight to flash around looking for Murkrow. I cant see it, and only hear the cawing in the distance, telling me he got tired of beating our asses.
Think I fainted there for a second and had a brief dream or something. Was it about my past life? I am so confused.
"Is it over?", Lyra somber from beneath me, looking over my shoulder.
"I think so…", I huff out, rolling on to my back, allowing her to breath again. Eve still clutching on tight to her, while I lay down exhaused.
Big mistake. That's when I discover how hurt my back actually is, so I sit up immediately. Bleeding heavily from where the talons pierced my back, great.
"Gold, you saved us", Lyra thanks me before gasping, and continuing "Aw, that looks bad Gold, turn around!".
She continues to baby me, and fish down her bag treating me with first-aid kit. Eve rubs itself on my hand, while purring and showing appreciation for my heroics. Lyra fixes me up rather quickly, hopefully keeping me from getting any kind of infection, but I wonder when she is gonna- "Hey! My egg, its unharmed!", notice that her egg is still intact…
She abandons my back to put the egg where it belong, and then look all happy at me flailing her arms around in a victory dance. Doesent take her long to groan in pain and clutch her chest and back once more. We are not exactly in tip-top form any of us.
"I guess everything worked out huh? Even if we are both worse for wear, we still have everything", I tell her as I grimace over all my bruises, and im sure her... Tit… Will be alright...
"Yeah, awesome… But… I mean… Where are we?"
Good question. God damn it.
Lost in a dark forest. Any logical way to get out of this peril?
Oh, and how did you like this chapter? I feel like the characters are actually pretty funny to work with, and will be more so in later chapters where i can truly dvelve into their personalities. As always, suggestions are everything to this story! Fave, Follow and review!
