AN: Finally updating this story. Sorry for the longest wait on this update. I've been stuck on what I wanted to do, but I think I got it now. Thank you for waiting!

A few days after Betty's tragic passing, Cody and Veronica got into a huge fight about who was keeping the kids after Betty's death. Cody wasn't stable enough to raise them right now. He's staying with his ex girlfriend's apartment with his daughter and son. Therefore, Cody made the hard decision that Rayne, Watson, Valentina, Kyle and Savannah stay with Veronica and Archie until he finds a house that will fit all of his kids.

After the funeral, the kids moved in with Veronica and Archie. They decided to stay at Ronnie's New York apartment a few blocks from Bailey's apartment complex. Rayne is taking a week off of school to be with her family.

As Mackynzie was getting her books out of her locker, Jake, who was Mackynzie's huge crush, walked over to her. "Hey, Mackynzie."

Mackynzie looked up to see Jake standing in front of her. Her mouth was now dry. She cleared her throat. "Hi."

"I heard Rayne lost her mom. Is she your step sister or something?" He asked.

Mackynzie nods her head. "Yeah, she is. We share the same dad. That's a long story itself, and I'm not in the mood to explain that."

Jake frowns. "Oh, it's okay."

Mackynzie nods. "Yeah. Thanks. I just am not in the mood to talk about it."

"It's fine." Jake says. He looks at her. "When you are free, I'd love to get to know you, Mackynzie."

Mackynzie nods her head, smiling. "Really?"

He nods his head. "Yeah. I'm not sure if you'd like to go get ice cream later?"

Mackynzie nods her head. "Sure, I'd love that."

"Great. I'll message you, alright?" He says, and she nods her head. "Okay."

Addie's eyes widened as she rushes over to her cousin. "Ahhh! Mack! He asked you out! You've been wanting this for months!" She hugs her.

Mackynzie chuckles, laughing slightly. "Me either, Addie. I can't believe he asked me out."

Micah overheard his twin sister and shakes his head. Aydenn saw the look on his cousin's face. "Dude, don't ruin this for her, okay? She wants to try to be with him, let her try."

Micah groans, shaking his head again. "No, no, Aydenn. She is my sister. I have to protect her from the hurt. She'll get hurt by a stupid boy who just wants to fuck. I don't her to be heartbroken over sleeping with some play boy." He crosses his arms.

"Micah, sometimes our sisters have to know who's not good for her. If it goes bad, she learned her lesson." Aydenn tells Micah, who was still annoyed.

"I don't fucking care, Aydenn." Micah groans as he walks away from Aydenn, who slaps his hand against his forehead.

"Lord have mercy on me." Aydenn mutters under his breath.

Later that night, 7:00PM, Mackynzie was getting ready to get ice cream with Jake tonight. Mackynzie did go to the party he hosted last weekend, and she did have a good time. She has been so excited to get ice cream with a guy for the first time in her life.

Mackynzie changed into something more layed back before she put on her makeup. She fixed for hair a little bit also. As she was finishing getting ready, she heard a knock on her bedroom door.

"Come in!" Mackynzie says, as she puts her lip bum down.

Cody opens the walks inside his daughter's bedroom. "Hey sweetie. Your mom told me you're going to get ice cream with a boy you have been crushing on for a while now." He says, sitting on her bed while Mackynzie is sitting in her chair.

With a small smile, she looks at her father. "Yeah. I've had a crush on him for a while now. I don't know where this is going, but I want to get to know him before you officially meet him, please." Mackynzie tells Cody, who nods his head.

"Alright, Mackynzie. I completely understand. We'll talk later when you get home then."

"Okay, Dad." Mackynzie says, hugging him with a smile on her face before she grabs her phone and leaves the room with Cody followed behind her.

Cody and Bailey didn't go on their first date yet because Cody wants to respect Betty before dating Bailey. It doesn't seem right to date another woman right after Betty's death. Cody and Bailey decided to put off the date until Friday night.

Bailey saw her daughter come down the stairs. "Awww, honey. You look so beautiful." She hugs her daughter when she walks over to her.

"Thank you, Momma." Mackynzie smiles.

Mackynzie's phone pings, letting her know she had a text message.

Jake; I'm outside waiting for you.

Mackynzie; On my way.

Mackynzie looks at her parents. "I'll be back at 9:30."

Bailey nods her head. "Alright, baby girl. Have fun, okay?"

Mackynzie nods her head as she walks to the front door and opens the door. "Bye." And with that, she walks out of the apartment and heads out to Jake's car.

Cody looks at Bailey, who laughs softly. "I can't believe she has a first date already. It's crazy." Bailey says, sitting on the couch.

"You're telling me, Bailey." Cody says, sitting beside her. "I just met her, and now she's going to be going out with boys."

Bailey chuckles softly. "It's going to take some getting used to, Cody. Trust me, you'll-" A knock on the door caused both Cody and Bailey to look at each other in complete shock.

"Are you expecting anyone?" Cody asks Bailey, who shakes her head as she gets up from the couch and heads towards to the front door. Looking through the peek hole, her eyes went wide. "Oh my God."

Cody looks at her. "What's wrong?" He asks.

"Your mother is here..." Bailey says with horror in her eyes. "I don't think Zack told her yet." She shakes her head. "You have to hide..."

Cody shook his head. "No, Bailey. I'm not hiding from her anymore."

"What?" Bailey asks, surprised he had said that. "She deserves to know everything. She needs to know that I'm alive." Cody sighs as he stand up from the couch.

Bailey nods her head. "Alright." She opens the door. "Carey, hi. How are you?" She hugs the grandmother of her children.

Carey gave Bailey a small smile. "Hi Bailey. I'm doing alright. How's Kynzie and Micah?"

Bailey smiles slightly. "They're doing good, Carey." She sighs. "Um, I need you to meet someone." She says, opening the door wider and Carey's eyes go wide when she walks inside to see her youngest son sitting on the couch.

"Cody?" Carey's eyes widened in complete shock. Tears filled her eyes and the tears fell down her cheeks as she walks over to the son she never thought she'd see again.

"Hi Mom." The second Cody said mom, his eyes were filled with tears. He wasn't expecting to be in tears, but he was now crying. He held onto the woman he never thought he'd see again.

"Oh! I never- I never thought I'd see you again. Oh, my baby." Carey cried into Cody's shoulder. When she finally calmed down, the older woman looks at her son and Bailey. "You're alive?"

Cody nods his head. "Yeah, it's kinda a stupid story, but I need to tell you." He walks his very emotional mother to the couch and they sit down next to each other.

He began to tell her the whole story. Everything that happened. From the rejection from Yale to now. Two and half hours later, Carey's eyes were all red and puffy.

"So, you're telling me that I have eight grandchildren from you and seven from Zack?"

Cody nods his head. "Yep. I have six kids with my wife, Betty, who passed away a few days ago. She and I were married for 14 years..."

Carey shook her head in disbelief. "Wow. I have to meet your other children then."

"I'd love that, Mom." Cody says, hugging her again. "I'm sorry I left without telling you. I wish I was honest with Betty, but I didn't tell her until I met Kynzie and Mic." He says, honestly.

"I hope you're completely honest with all of us from now on, Cody. It will take me a while to get used to having you back in my life." She says, sighing.

"I-I know." Cody stutters. "My daughter, Rayne isn't speaking to me at the moment. I completely understand. She's grieving her mother. My friends from Riverdale Archie and Ronnie are caring for Rayne, who is 14, Watson, 10, Valentina, 7, Savannah, 5, Kyle, 3, and Isabella is 5 months." He says.

Carey wipes her falling tears. "Wow. I'm speechless."

Bailey was in the kitchen, cleaning up, trying not to listen to their conversation. It was hard not to listen, though. She needed to know some things he probably hasn't told her yet.

After a while, she finally thinks she listened to them enough and heads to her bathroom where she takes a nice hot shower.

Later that night, Mackynzie came home from getting I've cream with Jake and walked into the apartment to find her father laying on the couch.

"Hi." Mackynzie says, taking her boots off.

"Hey." Cody looks at her. "I saw your grandmother for the first time in fifteen years..."

Mackynzie's eyes widened. "You did?" She takes her coat off and then sits on the couch.

Cody nods his head. "Yeah. It-it was so hard to tell her everything, Mack. She looked so broken." He sighs.

Mackynzie sighs. "Yeah, she had her moments of being happy, but when it came to this time of the year, she always tries to be happy. It was hard without you, Daddy. She had uncle Zack, it just wasn't the same." The teenager says.

Cody breathes in and out heavily. "I'm not going anywhere, baby. I can 100% promise that to you and everyone else. I'm here to stay."

Mackynzie gave a small smile. "It must be hard for you as well."

Cody nods. "Yeah. It's so fucking hard, but I can't change what I did, though. All I can do now is prove to you that I'm not going anywhere and I'm going to be here for you." He says.

Mackynzie lays her head on his shoulder. "I'll tell you everything that happened tonight tomorrow. I'm so tired. I want to just crash." She says, standing up again.

"Good night, Mack." Cody says, laying back on the couch.

"Good night, Daddy." Mackynzie says, walking up the stairs to her bedroom and she heads off to bed.
