AN: This chapter is in the past. I repeat - this chapter is going to be in the past.

I hope you enjoy!

Fifteen Years Earlier

June 7, 2011, Boston, Massachusetts, Tipton Hotel

Bailey Pickett, 17 years old, stared at the pregnancy tests in surprise. Her eyes were filled with tears. The past few weeks she has been through so much hurt.

Her boyfriend, Cody Martin had left after graduation.

Why did he leave?

While Bailey got into Yale, he didn't. He was hurt and overwhelmed with the news. He must have been so hurt from knowing he couldn't go to his dream school.

She didn't know that. She thought they'd do long distance relationship.

Now she's carrying a child. A baby. Cody is the baby's father. Bailey can't tell him that he's going to be a dad because he ran off somewhere.

Where did he go? Where is he? Is he okay?

Bailey couldn't think of anything worse than having a baby without the man who she loved. She didn't picture her life the way it's going - pregnant at 17, alone, and not being able to tell her boyfriend that she's pregnant.

She knew deep down in her heart that she couldn't go to Yale University with a baby. It wasn't even possible. So, with tears in her eyes, she held herself together to call Yale and tell them she wasn't coming and let them give her spot to someone who wants it.

Not that she didn't want it, she did, but she knew she would be kicked out of the college anyway. What's the point of going, just to know you'd be kicked out?

She is currently staying with Carey at the Tipton Hotel. She would've gone home to Kettlecorn, Kansas, but she wasn't willing to have her child born on a farm and raised to know what to do if a tornado came through. She wasn't wanting to worry about if she was able to go to hospital if a tornado came.

Bailey walked out of the bathroom to see Carey getting back from singing. She wiped her tears. "Hi." Bailey says as she sits on the couch.

Carey saw the dried tears on Bailey's face. "Bailey, what's wrong?" She asked. "Are you thinking about Cody? I miss him too-" She was cut off by Bailey shaking her head.

"I'm pregnant." Bailey says quietly. Carey's eyes widened. "You're pregnant?"

Bailey nods her head. "Yeah, I just found out a few minutes ago." She starts to sob. "I can't believe I'm going to be a single mother. I thought I'd have Cody there for me, but he left me before I could tell him, and I can't tell him because I have no idea where the heck he went." Bailey shakily says, as hot tears streamed down her face.

Carey wraps her arms around her and sighs. "I'll be here for you, Bailey. I can promise you that I will help you with my grandchild. I can't believe I'll be a grandmother in my late 40's."

Bailey let out a little laugh. "My parents became grandparents in their 30's. They had my older sister, Quinn when they are teenagers too." She shakes her head. "I guess I should get used to being a single mother now-" She wiped her eyes. "because that's how it's going to be..." She gulps as she tries to calm her emotions down.

Zack, Cody's older brother by ten minutes, walked into the room to see Bailey crying. He walks over to her and a frown was on his face. "What's wrong?" He asked.

Carey looks at her son. "Bailey is pregnant." When Zack heard that, his eyes widened. "Excuse me? What?" He sat down beside Bailey, who sighs. "I'm pregnant with Cody's child, Zack. Well, it's going to be mine, because he decided to leave and not tell anyone. I can't tell him, so I'm going to be raising this child by myself."

Zack groans and mutters under his breath. "Asshole." It was low enough that nor Bailey or Carey heard him say that about his brother. He was still trying to process that Cody might not be coming back. Now, his brother is going to be a dad without even knowing it.

"I'll be here for you too, Bailey." Zack says, hugging the very emotional girl, who just found out that she was pregnant. "I'll help you raise the baby. I know I'm not their dad, but I'll be the father figure."

"Thank you, Zack." Bailey looks up at him. "I should go tell my parents." She got up from the couch and goes into the bedroom to call her parents.

Needless to say, they took it pretty well, and told her that she can come and visit with the baby any time. Knowing she had her parents support, Bailey felt little bit better, but not so much better, knowing her child won't have their father.

At least, the baby would have their mother, uncle, two grandparents, nine aunts and a lot more uncles and some close family friends there for them.

It's going to be a hard journey for Bailey, but she knows it will be worth it in the end.

AN: I hope you enjoyed this character. It was a short one, but I wanted to give you a chapter where Bailey finds out she's pregnant. I'll be doing more chapters in the past as well as ones in the present day.

I'm not sure how long this story will be, so I'm just writing as I go.
