Me: Howdy, my dinos. CarnotaurusMan, back at it, with a new chapter to Childhood Couples! :)

This chapter was kind of inspired by one of my old childhood memories. Allow me to explain. Once, when I was 4 or 5 years old, me, my older brother and younger sister at the time decided to put polka dots on ourselves using washable markers. *sigh* memories. But enough of that, I'm sure you all want to get into reading, so let's introduce the pairing that's gonna say this chapter's disclaimer: Max and Rex!

(Max and Rex walk up to me, Rex a bit more embarrassed)

Max: We're ready, Matthew!

Rex: This feels awkward.

Me: Hey Rex, it's almost 2022. What are ya gonna do? Now, say the disclaimer, you two.

Max: Okay!

Max and Rex: CarnotaurusMan doesn't own any characters from Dinosaur King.

Me: There's always another life. Onward!

Just an uneventful day for Max Taylor, he walks by the kitchen counter when he noticed something that caught his attention.

There on the countertop, a couple of black markers.

He strokes his chin while thinking, "Hmm," then a lightbulb goes off in his head, "Ah!" He grabs the markers and proceeds upstairs to the bedrooms.

In his room, Rex was laying down on his bed while reading a book. He hears a knock at his door, "Come in."

Max walks inside and greets his best friend, "Hey, Rex. Want to do something fun?"

"That depends on your definition," said Rex, his eyes glued to his book, "Most of the time, your definition of fun ends us up in trouble."

Max seems a little upset. "Aw, come on!" He says, "I promise you Rex, what I have won't get us into trouble. Please?"

Rex looks up from his book and saw the face Max was giving as his hands were clasped together. He sighs while closing his book, "Alright, what did you have in mind?"

Max's face lit up as he sat down on Rex's bed, Rex sits up and crosses his legs. Max shows him the markers he found and says, "I was thinking about making tattoos using these!"

The blonde haired boy raises an eyebrow, "That's it, all you want is for me to give you a tattoo?"

"Not just me, I want to give you a few tattoos as well."

Rex seemed conflicted with Max's idea. "Uh, I don't know Max." He said, "It's not that your idea is bad, just that I don't want to spend hours dealing with how to get markers off my skin."

"These aren't permanent markers, I swear on my life they aren't." Rex begins to judge Max, examining his best friend's face. He looked for any signs of him lying, but finds nothing. So, Rex tells Max, "Alright, hand over a marker." With a smile on his face, Max hands over a marker, "Okay, what do you want me to draw first?"

Max waved a finger, "Uh, uh, uh. Since it's my idea, I get to draw on you first. But don't worry, we will take turns giving each other tattoos," he says, "Okay take off your shirt and jacket, Rex."

Rex blushed red as he covered his body. "W-Why my shirt too, isn't taking off my jacket enough?!" He exclaimed.

"Calm down, Rex. I don't bite," Max snickers, "Besides, how am I supposed to give you tattoos if you're covered up?"

Rex have to give it to Max for making a good point, even though he was fully against taking off his shirt. But eventually, he does take off his jacket and shirt. Max can be seen admiring Rex with a slight blush on his cheeks. "You know, I never noticed how well your body looks," he comments.

"Just shut up, and let's get this over with," said Rex, deepening his own blush. To him, Rex was completely embarrassed but still let his best friend do his thing. Max began to draw on Rex's chest, the blonde boy had goosebumps as he felt the cold marker on his skin. As he tries to look at Max's work, his friend scolds, "Hey, no peeking!" With a groan, Rex looks away so Max could continue.

After some time of waiting, Rex asks Max, "Are you done yet?"

"Almost, and...done! Look in the mirror." Rex gets up off his bed and checks in the mirror hanging on his door. Rex was surprised by the results.

Max had drawn a Chinese dragon on his chest. He was speechless, this dragon was well drawn and considering it came from Max made it more impressive.

"So, whatcha think?"

Rex turns his attention towards Max, he says to his best friend, "Max, this tattoo is amazing."

"I knew you'd like like it," cheerfully smiled Max, "I know how much you love history and mythology, so I did my best to draw a dragon."

A faint blush appears on Rex's face. He says to his best friend, "That's…very thoughtful of you, Max."

"Anytime! Now come here, your turn to give me a tattoo."

"Alright, I'm coming."

As time passes, Max and Rex laughed together as they took turns giving each other tattoos. Besides the dragon on his chest, Rex had many tattoos: there was one of Ace on his left shoulder, a test tube with liquid along his upper right arm, and many smaller doodles on his body and on his face. Max has some unique tattoos as well: there was one of Chomp's head on his upper chest, the right side has a cheeseburger, a fossilized dinosaur tooth on his left upper arm, and most of his body was covered in small doodles.

"I got to hand it to you, Max," said Rex, "This idea of yours was super fun, I'm glad we did this."

Max began to blush as he scratched the back of his head, "Oh, it was nothing Rex. Just wanted to spend some time with you."

"Well, I'd say that went extremely well."

"Yeah, and hey. Mind if I do one last tattoo, please? Just a small one on your hand," Max had shied away as he asked.

"Oh yeah, go ahead." Rex held out his right hand. Max grabs the marker. Before he started to draw, Max asks, "Um, could you look away one more time Rex? This one I want to be a surprise."

Rex nodded, he then turns his head so Max could get to drawing. As the tip of the marker touched his skin, Rex could feel Max writing something on his hand.

It wasn't even ten seconds until Max said, "Okay, you can look."

The blonde boy looked at his hand, he was surprised to see what Max had written: an 'I' next to a heart, next to a 'U'.

"I heart you-"

Then, Max quickly pecked Rex's cheek. His face instantly turns red as he looks back at Max, who was shying away once more.

"Sorry about that, I couldn't help it. I've been wanting to tell you a long time how I felt for you, Rex." Max continues, "I hope you aren't too mad about that kiss."

Rex stared at his best friend, then he looked at the recent tattoo he drew. He smiled and said, "Hand me the marker."

"Um, okay?" Max hands him the marker.

Rex begins writing on Max's left hand. Once he was done, Max looks back at his hand. He gasps, there was an 'I' next to a heart, next to a 'U', next to a 2. But before Max could say it out loud, Rex pecks his cheek back.

As the brunette blushed and glanced back at his friend, Rex says to him, "I love you, too."

Max was overjoyed to hear Rex say that. So, he pulls Rex into a big hug. The blonde was taken aback a little, but knew that Max was going to do something like this. He returned the hug and closed his eyes as both boys sat together in their embrace.

"By the way, I lied. The marker was permanent."

Rex's eyes shot wide open.

"WHAT?"

Me: Well, I think that went well. This was my first time writing yaoi, so I hope you all liked this.

(Max walks up, still covered in tattoos)

Max: That was fun!

Me: I'm glad you think so, Max. (notices that Rex is missing) Where's Rex?

Max: Trying to find out how to get permanent marker off his body.

Rex: (off-screen) I'm going to get you for this, Max!

Max: (to Rex) Love you too, buddy!

Me: Well, that's it for this chapter. Until next time, CarnotaurusMan out! :)

Max: (waves) Goodbye!
