Episode 1

"Why are you here? There is nowhere left for you to hide. I will defeat all of you, and I will stop whatever you are planning."
Cynthia had arrived on scene. The Sinnoh League Champion had a black cloak and almost waist-length blonde hair, and almost everyone considered her stunningly beautiful. She was followed by a man with a crimson cape, almost shoulder-length black hair, gray shirt, and gray pants. This figure was the enigmatic man known as Tobias. There were reports of a certain group of miscreants called the Godslayers trying to destroy all the legendary pokemon that they could find. Other bizarre reports on the Xtranceiver system included various lines and crowds of people shambling about as if zombified, and some theories suggested the development of a hive mind system of control. While scientists originally thought the "hive mind theory" to be some zany conspiracy theory, further analysis indicated that some strange technology may be responsible. In truth, the Godslayers could operate more effectively in a unit than non-augmented humans due to various implants in their armor. As a result, their strikes often initially confounded regional authorities, but the tide quickly turned.
"So you arrived. We were expecting you. No matter."
The Godslayers, seven of them in total, spoke in unison, then turned and faced Cynthia. They were figures wearing blue armor with matching black faceplates on their helmets. Blue greaves and shoes completed their outfits. They spoke in unison, adding evidence to the "hive mind theory". One of them—probably their leader—had a crested helmet and some strange markings on the chest plate. The ground beneath them was a hard-baked light brown due to the soil and rocks that made up the mountain, and above them lay a cloudy sky. While little data existed on the strength of the Godslayers, they had at one point destroyed an island with explosives and defeated the police force sent to arrest them. A laser battery set to a frequency similar to the lake guardians stood on a ridge, pointed towards the sky.
Below the mountain peak lay other defeated Godslayers, blacked out with the Pokemon fainted. Others seemed almost asleep and passed out.
The seven Godslayers started walking towards Cynthia.
Cynthia engaged in battle and sent out Garchomp. Three Godslayers took out various species including a Salamence, a Pyroar, and a Diggersby. All three fainted in one strike each from Garchomp's Outrage. This was no challenge, and anything else employed by the Godslayers facing Cynthia fell in short order. Tobias used Darkrai to easily defeat the other three Godslayers, who lost in less than a minute. These weren't battles—they were massacres.
The last Godslayer seemed almost panicked at how quickly everyone else fell. The laser station still emitted frequencies that would attract the lake guardians toward their destruction, but this would never come to pass.
Cynthia commented to Tobias, "So do you want to battle the last guy, or should I do that?"
Tobias seemed almost bored. He simply pointed at the laser battery that was supposed to summon, then destroy one of the lake guardians. The battery exploded as Darkrai destroyed it with a Dark Pulse.
He responded, "Maybe you should go ahead. I do not think the last Godslayer would be much of a challenge, though. I barely exist anyway; I think it would look better if you defeated the last one. I would not be surprised if anyone was filming this incident, especially after the coverage of the Fullmoon Island disaster."
Cynthia stepped up and used Garchomp against the last Godslayer, who sent out Feraligatr.
"Garchomp, use Earthquake!" Feraligatr lost 80% of its health.
The Godslayer responded, "Feraligatr, Ice Punch". Feraligatr ran towards Garchomp and used Ice Punch. Miss. Garchomp dodged the Ice Punch easily, leaving Feraligatr overextended.
Garchomp used Earthquake again, fainting Feraligatr. The last Godslayer took out a Dragonite.
Cynthia announced, "Garchomp, use Outrage".
Garchomp knocked out Dragonite in one hit using Outrage. Dragonite fell to the ground, fainted. In its place a Steelix emerged from its ball.
After a not very effective Outrage, Garchomp became confused. Steelix used Earthquake, which did only minor damage. Garchomp then used Earthquake, fainting Steelix.
The Godslayer at this point seemed like a joke.
Tobias claimed, "A ten-year-old could assemble a team to beat this so-called deliverance from Legendaries. The Johto Heathens posed more of a threat than their inept Sinnoh counterparts. Admittedly, no one could stand against you, Cynthia, except possibly Leon and myself."
Espeon, Raticate, and Pidgeot, the last three used by the Godslayer, fell without any fanfare.
Cynthia won the day without breaking a sweat.
She exclaimed, "Looks like this is at an end. I should contact Looker and the International Police and have them arrest you for the act of terrorism at Fullmoon Island."
"That's not going to happen." The crested Godslayer started pulsing uncontrollably.
He was about to explode. Cynthia used her Garchomp in an attempt to remove or disable the explosive. It did so, but the Godslayer could not be saved from death. A carcass dropped to the ground, without its helmet. The face that remained seemed contorted in disappointment.
Cynthia explained, "I'm sorry it had to come to this. He was going to explode the entire mountain with us on it."
Tobias attempted to get a feel of the situation. "We should go, and I can get you some ice cream. I will get your favorite flavor."
"Agreed."
Over ice cream
"Tobias, who are you exactly? It seemed like you came out of nowhere, entered tournaments with Mythicals and Legendaries, and overcame everyone with ease."
He responded, "Champion Cynthia, I… don't remember very well. I don't remember my mom and dad very well, other than they died to a villain. I remember going on a Pokemon journey and getting a Dex, joining a few friends, and seeing most of them die. I realized I was too weak, and I would need a far stronger team. Obtaining Darkrai was easy. Most of their species are distrusted due to nightmare powers they had difficulty controlling. All I needed to do was to get one to trust me. After catching Darkrai, I realized I wanted a team of legendaries and mythicals to reach the pinnacle of mastery; I would use that mastery to prevent any such villains from hurting any more innocent people. From there, no one could stand a chance against me, save for you."
"I remember the first tournament I entered. The Lily of the Valley Conference. All fell before me like dominoes in a windstorm, save for one who put up a battle. Ash Ketchum was his name."
Sceptile, use Leaf Blade!
Pikachu, use Volt Tackle…. Then Iron Tail
That day, a ten-year-old child made a divinity bleed.
"The notion that a Trainer and basic species could bring out their fullest potential and stand up to—no, defeat—the legendaries and mythicals of this world shattered the belief of my own invincibility. I believed that no matter how many weaklings combined their forces, they would fail before absolute strength. Now I see differently. I applauded him, as no one before him had even come close to fainting Darkrai. Winning the finals was pitifully easy in comparison."
Cynthia asked, "I remember that tournament too. He really was something special. The clash of ideals between Ash and Paul generated a battle for the ages. I could explain more, but you were there. Also, why haven't you become a Champion in another region? I understand me, but Diantha and Kukui… are probably weaker than you and your team."
Tobias answered, "I have little interest in the responsibilities of a League Champion. Now, what about you? Where did you come from and what is your story?"
Cynthia mused, "That is pretty long. I should disclose this some other time, after I have you do something important for me. I want you to retrieve the legendary orbs of the creation trio."
"I think I know what you are talking about. The Adamant, Lustrous, and Griseous Orbs. I have heard myths and legends about them too, and obtaining them would be of great use to anyone wanting to catch Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. I can acquire them very quickly."
"Their last confirmed location was either somewhere within the cave system of Mt. Coronet or on the Spear Pillar."
"I hope you have a dowsing machine, because it would be a good idea to get going."
