Cynthia spoke to Tobias,

"Thank you for the battle. I know this probably is not our full power, though. I look forward to a rematch. How about we set off for the Spear Pillar and complete our task? Just let me catch them because I will need Dialga and Palkia to complete my research. I have already contacted Professor Rowan."

"That would be nice, Champion Cynthia"

Not long after

It didn't take long for both of them to reach the top of Spear Pillar. Tobias simply used Latios to fly to the top of Mt. Coronet, and Cynthia followed suit with Garchomp. The two master level trainers placed the orbs on top of an altar on Spear Pillar. The stones shook as two members of the Creation trio, Dialga and Palkia appeared. The blue controller of time and the pink controller of space touched down as the sky became overcast, and they stared at the trainers facing them.

We are masters of time and space. Who dares stand before us?

"I, Champion Cynthia."

The Sinnoh Champion stood transfixed, but very eager to learn. She had learned very much about Dialga and Palkia, and their role in the legends and myths of early peoples, but this was the first time she had seen them in person.

"I, Tobias."

The crimson-cloaked man stared unflinchingly at the two legendaries before him. He remembered, somehow, a battle between Darkrai, Dialga, and Palkia. He had heard of the Alamos clash, but he seemed to remember… as if he was in the battle somehow. He had faced down many Legendaries and Mythicals before, and he had caught them

The pitch-black one returns somehow. Arceus must favor him. The shadowed one, nightmare of leagues, and the ender of dreams.

Tobias seemed curious. "What are you talking about? You are probably talking about me. That means my reputation precedes me. I am honored for such Legendaries as yourselves to know who I am. I wonder if myths exist of a human with an unparalleled ability to catch Legendaries and Mythicals. I should also introduce you to my best friend, Champion Cynthia, champion of the Sinnoh League, and probably the strongest Trainer of our time, and also the nicest person I have met."

Your arrogance shows. Have you ever wondered why you could obtain a full team of Legendaries and Mythicals so easily?

The response arrived. "I am Tobias. None save Champion Cynthia can stand before me."

Cynthia smiled slightly at the response.

You remember that you perished against us once, manifestation of Darkrai.

Tobias, normally stern and confident, seemed concerned, or at least curious. He decided to send out Darkrai, and talked to it.

"Is this true?"

Darkrai spoke via telepathy to Tobias and Cynthia.

"Yes, this is all true. He is my human form, given by Arceus after my death in Alamos as a result of Dialga and Palkia. The humans of that town distrusted me because they feared my power. This was a misunderstanding. Everyone avoided me, but I still believed in them. I sacrificed my existence for a world which hated me to end the time/space interference. As a result, Arceus rewarded me for my actions by making a Trainer manifested by me—that would be Tobias. He gained some powers as well, including a greater affinity for Legendaries and Mythicals, in case you are wondering."

Tobias answered, "Thank you, Darkrai. Thank you for my life."

Cynthia reached and touched Tobias on the shoulder. She had heard of the manifestation theory: legendary Trainers and other larger-than-life figures that were actually human forms generated by the supernatural energies of Legendaries or Mythicals, often developing new attributes. Tobias was one of them, and Dialga and Palkia had just verified it for her. She seemed to become even more interested…

It is time for you to prove yourselves.

Begin!

Cynthia sent out Garchomp, and commanded it to use Draco Meteor on Palkia. The move connected, doing major damage. Palkia used Spatial Rend and dealt 90% damage on Garchomp. A horrible screeching noise emerged from the space rift as Garchomp screamed.

Tobias told Darkrai to use Dark Void on Palkia, putting it asleep for some time. Dialga used Draco Meteor, and Garchomp just barely dodged while Darkrai was hit once and took 90%.

Cynthia switched Garchomp out for Lucario. Tobias had Darkrai fire a Dark Pulse at the now-sleeping Palkia, doing 25% damage with a critical hit. Not nearly enough…

Palkia woke up and used Hydro Pump, aiming for Darkrai. This connected, and Darkrai fainted.

Cynthia spoke to Tobias, "Are you okay?"

Tobias answered, "I'm fine. Fainting Darkrai does not inflict physical damage upon me."

Tobias sent out Rayquaza. The weather trio master emerged and roared.

"Rayquaza, Mega Evolve and use Outrage!"

Rayquaza Mega Evolved and used Outrage on Palkia, bringing it down to barely any health. Rayquaza actually held back some of its power to give Cynthia a chance to catch Palkia.

She threw an Ultra Ball at it. No luck, as Palkia escaped almost immediately.

"Lucario, use Aura Sphere on Dialga."

Lucario did so, and fired an Aura Sphere at Dialga. Aura Sphere normally could not miss, but Dialga simply intercepted the attack with one of its own.

Rayquaza used Outrage, this time aiming for Dialga. The Outrage connected, doing 50% of Dialga's health.

Dialga screeched, and used Roar of Time, hitting Rayquaza directly. Rayquaza fainted instantly from the force of the attack at almost point-blank range.

Cynthia threw another Ultra ball at Palkia. A bit more successful this time, but Palkia escaped after the second wobble.

Palkia fired a Hydro Pump at Lucario, and once again landed a direct impact. Lucario fainted instantly.

Cynthia remarked, "Our team members are dropping like buildings in a desolating hurricane."

Tobias chose Latios. Cynthia sent out Togekiss.

"Togekiss, Dazzling Gleam!"

"Latios, Dragon Pulse!"

More attacks hit Dialga, bringing it down to very low health, but Palkia fired a Spatial Rend, wiping out Latios and fainting it. Dialga recharged from the Roar of Time.

The manifestation of Darkrai decided to use Heatran to withstand the various attack barrages from Dialga.

Cynthia deployed an Ultra Ball at Palkia. This time, the ball captured Palkia. She knelt down and collected the ball with Palkia inside.
