Eventually, everyone had finally made it through the maze while victory was achieved. This only made them more determined to crush the researchers for all they have done. Unfortunately lots must be accomplished before that, the new mission begins now.
In the kitchen area, three boys were currently sitting down having a discussion one of the boys had spiky hair, the other had blonde hair and the final had white hair. All three of these boys had saved the world together.
''So what do we do now?'' Hamazura Saige, a former skill out member and now a member of ITEM asked to the table.
''...'' Accelerator, the new board chairman and the strongest esper in academy city did not have a reply to Hamazura's question; he was analyzing multiple ideas in his brain at once.
''Such misfortune.'' Kamijou Touma, the one who wielded Imagine Breaker, stumbled as well.
Accelerator turned his attention to the boy. ''Any luck finding the core?''
Kamijou shaked his head. ''It would seem Michael purposely hid it somewhere it will take more investigation before I can shatter this place.''
''Speaking of that can't you just use those dragon thingies?'' Hamazura asked.
Kamijou shook his head once again. ''Nah they only come out when my arm is cut off since it's the only thing sealing whatever the hell is inside me.''
''You mean you haven't tried to use it forcefully?'' Accelerator responded.
''Well I could try but I don't really know how it works plus using my regular hand is much easier since I can control it but it's much harder to control the other things since it either eats or engulfs me completely.''
He stopped a moment before drinking a sip of water and continuing. ''It would seem the only person who really knew about it was Aleister.''
''Tch'' Accelerator clicked his tongue as soon as he heard that name.
Aleister Crowly was the original creator of Academy City and previous board chairman before he gave everything to Accelerator. Accelerator despised Aleister with his living being due to all the pain and suffering he caused even when he had a one on one discussion with him he could still barely tolerate him when Aleister finally died and he entrusted Academy City to him Accelerator decided to respect his wishes and move forward.
Hamazura grunted a bit. He was in a similar boat to Accelerator after he helped save his own daughter and realized who he was. He also had a hate for him but he would fight with him as long as his wish was granted. Unfortunately, since he died that wish was passed on to the new chairman.
Kamijou doesn't hate Aleister but he does heavily disagree with a lot of his methods when he witnessed Aleister's past he could sympathize with him a little bit but it did not excuse him from the sins he has already committed in the end Kamijou convinced Aleister to make a future for his child and he respected him to the very end because of that. He didn't cope with his death but he did take some of his words to heart.
Eventually, they had to come up with a plan. Kamijou decided to go back into the testing lab to see if he could find anything out of curiosity.
The boy walked into the lab and was looking through the window glass over there was a honey-sweet-smelling girl. She was wearing a tokiwadai uniform like Misaka Mikoto. She had bandages all over her body and she was heavily injured. Kamijou felt sympathy for the girl but at the same time, he didn't even know who she was.
Footsteps came up from behind him and he turned around to see Misaka Mikoto walking towards him. ''How is she?''
''I'm not a doctor or anything but these readings look normal without Accelerator's help I couldn't have done much.'' He had a depressed look on his face.
Misaka sighed and gave him a warm smile. ''It's okay because of you she is still alive in the first place don't undermine your own accomplishments.''
He sighed he was upset he couldn't do anything more but as long as she was safe that was all that mattered.
He turned his attention to the girl. ''You must be friends right I saw you guys get into a big argument earlier.''
''Friends is a strong term for our ''relationship'' we aren't really rivals but at the same time I don't get along with her.''
He turned his head sideways in confusion. ''Hm I thought since you went to the same school you'd be close my bad for assuming I guess.''
''Eh? You saw us in the Daihasei Festival we can barely hold a conversation.''
At that moment Kamijou's mind went blank. ''Um.. I don't remember her from the festival. Could you be mistaking her for someone else?'' he replied.
Misaka had a distraught look on her face why does the boy not remember the #5 ranked level 5 especially after the fact that he has seen her so many times.
(Could this be something to do with his memory? But wasn't it whipped a while ago?)
Misaka thought that now was the best time to ask the boy. ''Hey, when did you lose your memories anyway?''
''I lost them at around July 28th and I woke up at the hospital on the 29th.''
Misaka almost lost her composure
(He has had them gone for that long? Wait the 28th, that was before the sister's incident and that was way before the festival but if he can remember me, why can't he remember Shokuhou?)
She decided to leave it alone for now. It would seem that the boy truly did not remember her so she wouldn't get any answers from him. It was probably best to ask Misaki directly than try to piece together hidden clues.
Changing the subject Kamijou turned his attention to the clock in the center corner of the lab. ''It's almost Christmas I hope it will be a white one this year although I probably will have to find cheap gifts for everyone…''
''Must be nice being able to enjoy the holidays,'' she replied.
''Hm? Wait Misaka-san what do you mean do you not like Christmas?''
She sighed and started to stare off into space. ''It's not that I don't like Christmas it's just that I never really experienced it.''
''What do you mean?''
''Well, Tokiwadai doesn't let its students get a break for the holidays instead we are forced to go through the academy and pick up trash all day.''
(Wow and I thought I had misfortune.) the boy thought to himself.
Kamijou rubbed his chin and turned back to her. ''If it's not so much trouble I guess you could join me and Index for this year though we aren't rich so it won't be that amazing.''
Misaka blushed a little but she pushed it down ''S-sure and it's no problem really I just like having fun it doesn't need to be anything special.''
(Now that I think about it I wonder what I should get him?) She thought to herself.
''Oh and one more thing''
''Eh? What is it?''

The sound of a door being kicked down could be heard immediately. Both Kamijou and Mikoto turned around to see Accelerator walking through with an annoyed expression.
''Are ya done yet because we have a lot to discuss.'' he spat out.
''Ugh, what the hell are you doing here?'' Mikoto spat right back.
''Apparently being the only responsible one here and trying to actually find a way out of this void while you two are flirting around like in a damn romance.''
''F-flirting you!''
Kamijou scratched the back of his head. ''Well, what did you need anyway?''
Accelerator gave the boy a serious expression which caused him to sweat in the back of his head. ''I need a favor from you.''
''?''
''When we get out of here everything is going to change and when that happens I will need you and the third-rate over here to stay on your guard because if you don't you will die.''
''What are you talking abo-''
''I'm turning myself in.''
A shocked face rain through Misaka's spine Kamijou was surprised as well but he was more confused than shocked.
Misaka spoke up first. ''What the hell do you mean you're turning yourself in after all this time you chose now?''
''Your right but now that I do hold this power I'm going to change everything I'm going to grant that bastard's final wish I will change the city starting with the shadows of the Darkside but before that, I'm going to atone for my greatest sin.''
(Greatest sin huh…)
''I'm going to give your sisters the life that they rightfully deserve I don't care what happens after that but before I go to hell I will make sure that the brat will live in a safe environment.''
''I don't get it what happened to you before the experiment ended you didn't care about any of this what caused you to go through all of this?'' she asked.
Accelerator did not respond at first but then he pointed behind her.
She immediately knew the answer when she looked at the spiky-haired boy.
Kamijou still was in shock so he didn't have much of a reaction at the time.
Accelerator continued. ''I hate to say it but without the hero, I would have probably died already if he didn't fight me on that day I wouldn't be able to do what I am now.''
Kamijou shook his head. ''I doubt that I really did that much…''
''Can you really say that when you look at your life as it is right now? Your path intersects with the enemy including mine and yet you still are able to gain people you respect on a daily basis. The path that you walk on is simply impossible for me to walk on. You...You beat me you did the impossible you walked straight past me and I was left to walk on a new path, while you are a dumbass, you are the only person I can ever respect for that.''
At this point Kamijou was speechless. He simply could not believe that the man he first met who was a monster had undergone such a drastic change. He didn't think much of it when he encountered him the other times but maybe he should have questioned it?
Misaka Mikoto was also very surprised by the circumstances and she truly could not believe how the events have turned this much compared to the first time she met the #1 she thought he didn't have a heart and now he was really thinking about giving her remaining sisters a true life?
She spoke up. ''If you do this you will most likely get 90 years to life maybe even higher.''
''Heh that's too small I need 300 at least otherwise they would be miscounting.'' Accelerator responded.
''You truly don't know the consequences of this action your taking?''
''Of course, I do but if they aren't revealed to the world then they will never be truly free once everything is settled I plan on getting the brat back to the apartment until things settle down while I'm behind bars.''
That's when Kamijou stepped in. ''' If you do this you know you will never be able to spend time with her anymore you know that right?''
''I don't deserve her never have never will but the least I could do is make sure she lives peacefully even if that means sacrificing my soul.''
Normally in these types of situations Kamijou would usually reply with a brash comment and try to shatter that illusion so he could reach a peaceful conclusion for everyone but this time he didn't he looked at the #1 in front of him and he was smiling. He was satisfied with his decision that would make him happy.
Accelerator would remain behind bars of his own free will. Maybe that was the right thing to do, but that would never be a happy life. Kamijou could not help but wonder if Accelerator would not have had to make that choice if just one person out there had seriously tried to stop him.
But
Even so.
He did not know if that was really true, so he did not want to reject the other boy's decision too quickly. This was the path someone had found for themselves, so he would feel wrong trampling it underfoot. Maybe Accelerator would have reconsidered if someone had stopped him, but some futures could fail to come about if he had stopped.
Kamijou could tell Accelerator knew this would not be an easy thing but was prepared to do it regardless.
Then there could be no exceptions.
Just as Kamijou and Index had their path to walk, Accelerator and Last Order had their path to walk.
He only had to place the scales in front of him.
Would he work up his courage here and live the rest of his life with his head held high with pride, or would he choose safety here and live the rest of his life hunched over in Shame?
Which would he prefer?
The answer was obvious.
''I'll help you save them.''
So the boy smiled and answered.
The willpower of no more than a boy could keep that other human on the path they had
chosen.
He knew what Academy City's #1 and the new board chairman wanted.
It was time to protect Accelerator's dream.
''No matter what happens from here I will help in any way possible if you want to truly reach this new society then I will lend you my power to save the people who are suffering.''
He made a decision and came to a conclusion at this time it wasn't the person in front of him he needed to save but his dream.
Accelerator gave a slight smile.
Misaka Mikoto looked over to Accelerator. She encouraged and accepted Kamijou's words but she had some of her own she had to put on the table.
''I won't ever forgive you for what you did before but I will learn to tolerate you. Since you are determined about this I will do my own part not just for myself but my sisters as well I will help you save them.''
They heard everything they knew his reasons and they gave him their response from this point forward they would march into a new territory whether it was dangerous or not was yet to be seen but they would trample over it without reason.
They smiled
For the first time, their thoughts linked.
Back in the outside world.
''Guh….'' someone made a noise.
''What's wrong Last Order you just had dinner,'' replied Yoshikawa.
''Misaka feels that she has three layers of protection added to her body says Misaka Misaka trying to understand this feeling…''
''Three layers?''
Last Order rolled over on the couch then stared at the ceiling. ''I wonder when he will be back….''
Somewhere in a hidden factory.
A blue-haired nun's ears started to ring for some odd reason. ''Umu?''
''What's wrong?'' replied Othinus.
''I feel like I'm missing a role for some reason…''
''You truly are unique…''
Back in the void.
After learning who the true mastermind behind the level 5 experiment Accelerator informed everyone what the situation was and how they needed to resolve it but it would be concerning if the researchers were to see all of them disappear out of nowhere and cause them to raise their defense so Accelerator decided to take a different approach.
''Ow-Ow-Ow-OW!'' a certain spiky-haired boy was having his head dragged by the #1.
''Pick up your damn feet already I'm not gonna drag you forever if you don't start walking I will chuck you a hundred miles.''
The boy finally stood up and dusted off his forehead and spoke. ''Did you really have to pull that hard!?''
''Oh please, you have dealt with worse.''
''That doesn't make the situation any better!''
The boy gave up and sighed and followed up with a question. ''Why did you choose me of all people for this mission anyway there are 6 level 5's in there and you only chose me?''
''I can barely stay in a room with those idiots for more than a minute your the most tolerable besides I need to put that right hand of yours to use.''
''?''
Accelerator re-entered the maze and found a small wall that was formed with some type of barrier preventing anything from getting through.
''I tried breaking it earlier but it doesn't have a vector I can reflect magic I know of but I can't destroy it like you.''
Kamijou nodded and he walked over to the wall and tapped it with his finger. The wall shattered and the new path was opened. It was dark and ominous; it was like a dark scream of pure emptiness.
''Welp my job is done, guess it's time for me to head back no-'' Accelerator grabbed his collar forcing him to a halt.
''Did you really think you were about to half-ass this? Once you are in the tunnel you will crawl yourself out don't think you can always take the easy route.''
''Where did common sense go!''
Accelerator ignored the boy's cries for help and threw him in the blind space.
''Uwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!?''
He landed directly on his but causing it to break his fall he was still quite upset that Accelerator forcefully threw him inside but it couldn't be helped now.
Kamijou stood up and observed his surroundings; it was pitch black so he truly could not see anything inside.
''Dammit if only I had a lighter.''
He started touching the wall and used its narrow positioning to guide himself to hopefully an exit. There weren't many openings for him to directly go to the side; it was only a straightforward path, no cuts or turns, just one simple path.
His phone started to ring. He jumped a bit but decided to look at it. ''How the hell do I get service in here at random times?'' While it was weird he could not call anyone else but this person must have hacked his phone and used some type of power to give it a functioning ability.
''Eh Misaka?''
''Oh wow it really worked I guess I can use my powers in here besides that sorry about before Accelerator told me about the plan before but I didn't have a chance to agree so he snatched you.''

''I'll give him a scolding later but for now, I can access your phone and give you some background assistance I hacked some other layouts of this void and it seems to have some vibrant frequencies around that area I think I can show you the way.''

He continued to move in the direction though it did seem like it would be a long walk so the girl decided to strike up a conversation. ''It seems like he knew a lot about you how many times have you encountered him anyway?''
''After the experiment, I saw him in Russia during World War ||| then when I came back I met up with him and Hamazura then we traveled to Hawaii and it was only short encounters after that with the most recent one being England.'''
''Oh yeah he was in England but I didn't see him do very much?''
''He was working in the background apparently he didn't trust Aleister much so he would pop in and out when it was necessary.''
''Sounds like him.''
''He is very straightforward so it was scary to be in the same room as him. But I can tell he has really changed so I will help his endeavors in whatever way I can for now.''

When the boy heard that word he immediately thought this had something to do with the magic side. Could this Kimi person have found a mystical being lying around somewhere?

Kamijou's mind went blank then it started to tick. He immediately remembered 8 dragons coming out of his arm when his right hand was cut off of course he never questioned it because the situation was solved in the end but didn't he also fight Accelerator with it a while ago?

''It was pale white It was like an angel it didn't even flinch when my railgun hit it.''

A chill ran behind Kamijou's neck. ''Well, both of my friends are perverts so we get into arguments most of the time and they never help me with homework but we formed a pack so I can't really get out of it.''

Kamijou trailed down further and further, it felt like an eternity with how far he was walking but then he heard something.

His body stopped before he could even think it was physically telling him not to take another step.

Kamijou's body was already moving and he ran toward the light as fast as he could. Compared to a regular human Kamijou was moving at hypersonic speeds he used his front heel to get a perfect dash.

Kamijou could not slow his body down causing him to trip and fall flat on his stomach. (Shit what do I do now?)
This time the siren did not go off. Something like a dragon head popped out of the wall but since it was so dark Kamijou could not see it. The dragon's head opened its mouth and roared.
''What?!''
A green beam shot out the dragon's mouth headed straight for Kamijou. This must have been what the term ''elimination'' meant when you lose.
''Fuck'' Kamijou rolled dodging the green beam and stood back up on his feet as fast as it can.
The dragon head fired 5 beams no…. Over 20 beams consecutively at Kamijou.
''Ugh!''
There was no time to think there was no time to predict Kamijou just strived and forced his body to run his body moved to the left then to the right then to the side he decided to let his body loose and let his subconscious do the rest.
Just as he was closing the gap between him and the dragon head a second cannon popped out to the side of the wall. (Shit!)
It roared and another green beam bursted out to attack Kamijou's side. The other beams were still attacking Kamijou. How could he dodge without getting hit? There is no possible way he could do this now. (Crap crap what do I do if I can't dodge how can I intercept this? Is there really no other way am I going to lose here?)

An incoming beam from the front shot at Kamijou's forehead, he laid back his head dodging the beam, then he raised his left hand, intercepting the beam to the side.
''GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH'' The beam burned his left hand causing it to be stale and stiff he could only feel like it was on fire right now. But he couldn't stop, he wouldn't allow himself to stop whether it was him or someone else he had to do what he needed to do here.
He kept moving forward; he didn't stop; he dodged every last one off the beams and twisted his body simultaneously.
He touched the wall. ''Ugh…..''

He could hear the worried voice in Mikoto's heart he was nowhere near fine right now it felt like his left hand would crumble away as soon as it touched anything but he didn't want her to worry he didn't want his burden to be heard so he ignored the pain he ignored the suffering he forced himself to smile. ''Are you sure? I heard the lasers I couldn't actually see anything but it sounded like you were hit are you sure your fine?''
''Don't worry I'm fine I made it to the door what do I do next?''

''Eh Saten san what are you doing?'' Uiharu Kazari called out to her what seemed like a misguided friend.
''I found some rocks and they are cool colors do you think they are esper related!?'' Saten Ruiko responded.
''Even if it was esper related why would you pick it up you don't know if it could be harmful or not?'' Kuroko responded.
Uiharu then turned to her side. ''Um, Index are you looking for something.''
Index turned her head around. ''Touma would look for these things they are called good luck charms he says you can find them all around the city he used to go looking for them so it could increase his luck.''
''Good luck charm?'' Uiharu never really used those.
''You mean like..'' Saten remembered during the Daihasei festival she gave her own good luck charm to Kamijou so he could pass an event. (He really likes using those huh…)
Kuroko decided to break the conversation. ''We have walked over 20 miles how much longer is this going to take?.''
The doll-shaped tiny Magic God named Othinus replied. ''If it were only that simple we wouldn't be walking in the first place patience is a good thing to have Esper I suggest using it more often.''
''Ugh…'' Kuroko grunted…
Saten strictly asked a question. ''So since Magic is real are there like holy begins like Angels with big halo's and stuff?''
''You would be correct Angels of divine origin get their magical power from an energy accumulated in Heaven known as Telesma.''
Uiharu scuffled a bit. ''Now that I think about it didn't Kiyama form an artificial angel with those child errors back then?''
Saten stopped. (oh right…)
Uiharu could see her friend was in distress so she reassured her. ''I'm sorry Saten-san I know you don't like to talk about it.''

Othinus shrugged her shoulders. This time the Index spoke up. ''I saw it before I thought he had come into some kind of magic originally but if Espers are incompatible then it just wouldn't make sense. But I could feel it had to be some kind of Telesma''

''Wow, Accelerator is really strong huh…''

(I still don't understand any of these Angels? And Esper achieving the power of an Angel? Whatever happened to just plane science it's like I'm living in a fictional world now) Kuroko was in deep thought.
Eventually, Kuroko stopped in her tracks, sensing something behind her. ''Wah?''
A tall male with simple vestments and a golden cross around his neck walked up from behind her.
Kuroko's natural reflex kicked in and she teleported away from him.

The male raises his feet and disappears.
(Where did he go?) she thought to herself.
''Shirai watch out!'' Uiharu shouted.
But it was too late as soon as Kuroko turned around the male came up from behind her and struck her head causing her to fall on the ground.

Index immediately tabbed the cat on her head and hid it in her nun habit pocket. She then moved her legs across the ground. (No magic circle?)
Saten immediately grabbed Uiharu's left shoulder and dropped to the ground. The male raised his arm and vanished once again heading toward Index.
''Dammit'' Othinus rolled over trying to get out of the way.
Index covered her eyes but just at that moment she noticed the man had stopped right in front of her.
''What are you doing?'' she asked in confusion.
''I admit you are quick on your feet to think I summoned a magic circle, however quite the contrary. Let's get introductions out of the way''
Index stood her guard and backed away.
