"Are we really off the island or is this a dream?" Sammy asks as the group is on the boat.
"If it were a dream I'm thinking we'd have a change of clothes." Yazmina says.
"Ha! What do you mean? I've always wanted a signature look." Ben says as the group laughs before Alexis looks at Kenji and goes to where is in the control room.
"Hey Captain. It's lunchtime. Time for a break." Alexis says.
"Can't leave my post till we're docked in Costa Rica. I'm the only one of us who's ever sailed before." Kenji says.
"Kenji please?" Alexis asks.
"I'm not leaving." Kenji says sternly as Alexis sighs.
"Come on Kenji please? Just cut the engine. Ten minutes won't kill you. It might be our last meal together. We should enjoy that while we can." Alexis says as Kenji looks at her.
*Timeskip*
"And now for the main course the plumpest and the juiciest... Nublar grubs! Hand-selected by yours truly. Thank you for your sacrifice." Ben says as he walks out with a plate full of grubs much to the others disgust as he then eats one.
"Come on. Do you have to do that here?" Yazmina asks as the group is disgusted before Ben offers a grub to Sammy.
"Well I guess the least I can do is keep an open mind." Sammy says as she nervously takes a grub.
"Do it. How you all survived I'll never know." Ben says as Sammy chickens out on eating the grub.
"Okay. No tears or goodbyes until we're sittin' on the plane but can I just say look at us. We started as campers and now we're-" Sammy then gets cut off by Ben.
"Immortal." Ben says.
"Survivors?" Brooklynn asks.
"Exhausted." Kenji says as Alexis smiles at him.
"I was gonna say soulmates. Still doesn't feel real. We finally made it off the island. Go us. I'm gonna miss you guys so much! Before we get off this boat I'll need everyone to write down their e-mail addresses, social media handles, and weekly availabilities for a group check-in. Also your favorite kind of cake and the best time of day to receive packages. And maybe I don't know for fun your favorite memory of the two of us." Sammy says.
"Hey who took my food? I had a bunch of berries sitting right there." Kenji says as he sees his food is gone.
"Wasn't me." Darius says.
"Well berries don't just grow legs and walk away. They gotta be somewhere." Alexis says.
"Maybe the boat is haunted." Yazmina says as she looks at Sammy.
"Oh Yaz no! Don't even joke." Sammy says.
"No sea sickness anymore Ben? What? Did the island beat it out of you?" Yazmina asks as she looks at Ben.
"When you've seen the things I've seen a little thing like motion sickness can't... Oh! Who ate all the grubs?" Ben says as his plate of grubs is empty.
"Not if you paid me." Brooklynn says.
"Not me either. I may eat some nasty things because of my wolf stomach but even I won't touch a grub." Alexis says.
"Truly no one. Of course. A stowaway." Yazmina says as the group hears a noise and sees a compy.
"The last thing we need is it chewing on some wires or something." Darius says as he looks at the others.
"What do you say we catch one last Compy? For old times' sake." Yazmina says.
"Let's go!" Sammy shouts as she, Brooklynn, Ben, and Yazmina go after the compy.
"Listen man about what happened-" Darius then gets cut off by Kenji as he goes over to him.
"I should be at the controls. I'm trying to get us all home." Kenji says.
"Seriously? I only did what Brooklynn asked me to do. What's your problem?" Darius asks angrily.
"For once when you have to do the right thing, I'd like to see you put this group first. Just once!" Kenji says angrily as he leaves.
"Kenji! Hey. You and I know you didn't do anything wrong. I know Kenji has to know that too. Whether he'll admit it right now or not. There's gotta be another reason he's so upset." Alexis says as she looks at Darius.
"Yeah well maybe it's because he's such a... such a... kind of... kind of a... I'm not good at insults." Sarius says angrily.
"Maybe not but you're an amazing person Darius either way. I'll find out what's up." Alexis says as she leaves.
*Timeskip*
"Kenji you should stop stressing. Relax okay? We're much safer here than on the island." Alexis says as she finds Kenji fixing the controls.
"Relax? What about sharks, or storms, or the lunch tray covering the hole and the boat falling off? Lots of things could happen Alexis and without SONAR or a radio I'm not relaxing." Kenji says angrily.
" So you freaked out on Darius because you're worried? that's not right to take it out on him." Alexis says.
"What? No! He... Brooklynn could have been killed. We all could have." Kenji says.
"He did what Brooklynn told him to. He did what he thought was right at the time Kenji." Alexis says.
"I need to get the comm working and captaining is kind of a solo job. So if you don't mind." Kenji says as he goes back to working on the controls.
"You do know you're not actually fixing the comm panel right? This would be what you're looking for. Ah! What was that!?" Alexis asks as the group feels the boat move from being hit.
"If we had working SONAR we'd know." Kenji says as Ben comes over to the window.
"Did you guys feel that!?" Ben asks in alarm.
"Probably just a swell or something! Captain K's got it under control. Okay. Let's see. What's next?" Kenji asks as Ben leaves.
"Why don't you let me take a crack at it? Whoa. Whoever wired this thing had no idea what they were doing. No wonder it got knocked loose." Alexis says as she works on the panel.
"How'd you know about all this?" Kenji asks curiously.
"Miss Blake taught me. She taught me quite a bit of stuff." Alexis says as she continues to work.
"Really?" Kenji asks curiously.
"Yeah. When you're a loner like me you tend to pick up a few things from someone you hang around a lot." Alexis says.
"I get it. Kids my age were super judgy about how rich I... I mostly hung out with the adults too. Not my dad so much but..." Kenji says.
"Is that why you flipped out earlier?" Alexis asks.
"What? No, no. I was just trying to say I could relate. You learned how to fix stuff. I learned how to look awesome and drive a boat." Kenji says.
"What? When I first met you I did not think you make a good impression. Like at all. I was never thought we would be friends. We just seemed way to different.. but now among side Darius and Ben you are the most close to me and my boyfriend to top it. I'm gonna miss you when we don't see each other like we do right now. Screwdriver?" Alexis asks as Kenji hands her a tool.
*Timeskip*
"I think that does it. Let's see now. Oh yes!" Alexis shouts happily as she gets the panel to work.
"Yes! I can't believe you got that to work. What... Ah! You're so amazing! At tech! I mean you know tech... technology." Kenji says as he hugs Alexis.
"Kenji listen. We're all gonna go our separate ways soon. This is kinda hard to admit, but... this is probably the first group of real friends that you and I have ever had and the thought of saying goodbye to someone you're not ready to let go of is scary. Maybe that's why you're so upset with Darius. You're gonna miss him. Just like I miss my birth mom. I was so angry with her at first because I never got to say goodbye or I love you before it happened and now I blame myself for what happened. Trust me you will regret it if you don't say something to him now." Alexis says.
"You're right! That's... That's why I've been weird." Kenji says.
"I'm glad you're finally talking about it. Promise me you'll talk to him before we leave?" Alexis asks as she looks at Kenji as he goes over to the controls.
*Timeskip*
"What is happening?" Alexis asks as the boat gets shook again.
"Shoot. Shoot no! I don't think it's a mechanical failure. We might be stuck in a kelp bed or something. Dang it! I must have missed that when I turning the boat." Kenji says angrily.
"Uh, guys, what's happening?" Ben asks.
"Propeller's jammed. Someone's gotta go under and check it out." Kenji says as he and Alexis go to meet the others.
"Kenji thinks we're stuck in kelp. And where there's a kelp forest there are usually sharks. so this won't be easy and it's gotta be quick." Alexis says.
"Sharks? I'll pass. Saw this movie as a kid that really messed me up for life." Yazmina says.
"I'll do it." Darius says as he stands up.
*Timeskip*
"You sure you're okay to go alone?" Yazmina asks.
"I'll be fine. Just be ready to pull me up." Darius says as he goes into the water with a rope attached to him before the others head to their positions.
"No word?" Kenji asks as Alexis is standing outside the control room.
"Not yet." Alexis says.
"Darius says to try it now." Brooklynn says as she comes over.
"We're all-clear!" Kenji says as he gets the boat to move before stopping it as Alexis comes over to the panel hearing it beep.
"What is that? It looks big." Alexis says.
"Uh... Must be a school of fish?" Kenji asks nervously.
"Given our luck?" Brooklynn asks as she comes over.
"Tell them to hurry!" Kenji says as Brooklynn nods and runs out of the room.
"Oh no. Shark! I see a shark!" Alexis shouts as she and Kenji go over to the others as they trying to pull Darius in with the rope with a shark headed for him. As Darius gets close to the boat he soon gets caught on some kelp and the rope breaks much to the terror of the others.
"We gotta get him outta there!" Sammy shouts.
"Is there a life preserver? Or another rope? Is... Is that the Mosasaurus?" Ben asks as the group then sees a Mosasaurus swallow up the shark.
"How the heck did it get out here?" Sammy asks.
"We gotta get Darius out! Now! Brooklynn and Alexis you stay at the wheel the rest of you be ready to pull us up!" Kenji shouts as he ties himself to a rope and goes into the water as Alexis and Brooklynn run to the controls.
"Brooklynn he has him." Alexis says as she hears Kenji outside shouting.
"On it." Brooklynn says as she gets the boat going before the group gets Kenji and Darius aboard only for the Mosasaurus to begin attacking the boat as Kenji takes over the controls and begins trying to get the boat away from it before the creature dives into the boat.
*Timeskip*
"Is... is everyone okay?" Darius asks as everyone wakes up on a beach.
"Okay. Now this has to be a dream." Sammy says.
"Where are we?" Alexis asks.
"This doesn't look like Costa Rica." Brooklynn says as a storm is brewing.
"Maybe we could take shelter in there." Ben says as he sees a cave.
"Maybe we shouldn't go in there." Sammy says nervously.
"Can't be worse than where we've been." Kenji says as Alexis nods in agreement.
"Only one way to find out." Darius says.
