"Guys come on." Kenji says as the group goes to a door before going through it and seeing they are now in a jungle.
"Guys do you remember how like five seconds ago we were in a desert?" Brooklynn asks.
"What the heck is this place?" Sammy asks before the ground begins to rumble.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say that feels like a... T. rex." Yazmina says before the group sees a T. rex appear.
"Run!" Alexis shouts as the group begins to run.
"You have got to be kidding me!" Kenji shouts before another T. rex appears causing the group to quickly hide as the two dinosaurs begin to fight.
"Does every island have dinosaurs now?" Brooklynn asks.
"Let's ask her. Who's that?" Ben asks as the group sees a woman eating a sandwich before she drops her sandwich seeing the group.
"You're trespassing. What are you up to? Are you here to spy?" The woman asks as she comes over.
"Yeah. We're an elite band of teenage secret agents." Kenji says sarcastically.
"Are you mad? You're eating in the middle of a dinosaur fight?" Alexis asks.
"First of all they're not fighting. They're pla-" The woman then gets cut off by Darius.
"Playing! Cranio-facial biting! It's true!" Darius says happily.
"Uh yes. Don't change the subject!" The woman says angrily.
"Lady we don't wanna be here either. We just wanna go home." Yazmina says as Alexis nods in agreement.
"Oh yeah we'll see about that. Follow me." The woman says as the group follows her.
*Timeskip*
"You really expect me to believe that children survived alone on Isla Nublar for six entire months?" The woman asks in disbelief as the group is walking with her.
"Trust me. It's hard for us to believe too." Brooklynn says.
"I suppose you must be telling the truth because who would make up such a crazy story if they didn't have to. Not saying that you don't have to or that you're crazy but who knows? I don't know you you don't know me for that matter. Am I yammering on? I've been out here for the better part of a month with no one to talk to and I guess I had more to say than I realized." The woman says.
"You look so familiar." Darius says.
"Don't worry. They're almost tuckered out. They won't bother us." The woman says as the group hears commotion from the two T. rexes.
"How could you know that?" Ben asks.
"I study dinosaur brains. Behavioral paleoneurobiologist. I'm Mae Turner-" The woman then gets cut off by Darius.
"Turner! That's it! You're Dr. Mae Turner! It's an honor to meet you. I read your book. A Theoretical Emotional Journey with Theropods." Darius says excitedly.
"Ah you were the one!" Mae says as she chuckles and smiles.
"If you could just point us to a phone we'll be on our way." Kenji says.
"Yeah. Slight problem with that. This island is completely shut off the grid. No communications in or out." The woman says as the group looks at her in shock.
"Are you kidding? Why? Wait you can't use that to call out?" Brooklynn asks as she looks at Mae's device.
"Sorry. Closed circuit. Mainly I use this to connect to a doodad in their brains... Oh! Can't tell you actually. Proprietary research." Mae says.
"So no way home again. Great." Alexis says.
"Don't lose faith. You can all rest up with me until we figure out how to get you out of here." Mae says as she keeps walking.
"Do we trust her? I'll take that as a no." Kenji says as Alexis looks at him.
"So the saber-toothed tiger and the T. rexes. Your bosses are making prehistoric creatures?" Darius asks.
"Some. Although they got the T. rexes from Isla Sorna. Not that I should be telling you any of this." Mae says.
"Why not?" Alexis asks.
"Hold up. Important announcement time. Whatever you do, do not go down there. Super dangerous. All right. Off we pop." Mae says as the group looks at a dark and eerie looking jungle area.
*Timeskip*
"We're here." Mae says as the group stops at a waterfall before following her into a secret living space behind a door.
"Oh. Wow. As far as caves go this one's pretty swank." Brooklynn asks.
"So this is where you live?" Alexis asks as she looks at Mae.
"Live, work, play surprisingly competitive games of poker with myself. I usually win. Ah! All right I'm gonna go whip up some sandwiches." Mae says as she leaves the room.
"What are you doing?" Darius asks as Alexis, Brooklynn, and Kenji look around.
"We're not gonna just take her word for it that there's no phone here." Brooklynn says.
"Yeah dude. Did you learn nothing from Mitch and Tiff?" Kenji asks.
"I guess it doesn't hurt to look around." Darius says as everyone starts looking around.
"Are you guys all right out there?" Mae asks as she is in the other room.
"Yeah. Uh no problems over here!" Kenji shouts.
"No phone. I think she's telling the truth." Darius says as he sits in a chair.
"We got nothing." Kenji says.
"Us too." Yazmina says as Sammy gasps.
"Mantah Corp." Sammy says as she shows a paper with the Mantah Corp symbol.
"If Mae works for Mantah Corp then we gotta get out of here." Brooklynn says.
"Who wants a sandwich?" Mae asks as she comes back.
*Timeskip*
"This is really good." Ben says as he eats his sandwich.
"Something wrong?" Mae asks noticing the others are not eating.
"Yes. We wanna ask you about-" Yazmina then gets cut off by Brooklynn.
"Something to drink?" Brooklynn says.
"Of course! Silly me. You need cocoa." Mae says as she leaves.
"We need to go." Brooklynn says.
"Maybe not." Sammy says.
"But Mae works for the company that blackmailed your family." Brooklynn says.
"Yeah Sammy. Of all people I thought you would wanna be out of here and away from her." Alexis says.
"Yeah. And I worked for them too. Sometimes good people can be made to do bad things by bad people." Sammy says.
"Let's at least check out that dangerous area. What if there's a phone or a way off the island and she's just trying to keep us away from it?" Brooklynn asks.
"Why would she do that?" Darius asks.
"So we can't tell anyone about whatever shady stuff Mantah Corp is doing here." Ben says.
"Okay. I'll keep her busy while you check it out." Darius says.
"I'll stay too. Maybe we'll get some answers while we're at it." Sammy says.
"Then it's settled. The rest of us will check it out. We don't know what's out there. Let's get going." Alexis says as she and the others leave.
*Timeskip*
"Another metal rectangle like the one we saw in the desert." Ben says as the group finds another metal rectangle.
"And there's more bones. It's gotta be a feeding platform." Alexis says.
"Which means we should probably get outta here before mealtime." Kenji says.
*Timeskip*
"Did you hear that?" Yazmina asks as the group stops upon hearing something and hides behind a large boulder before seeing the little compy from the boat.
"Oh thank goodness. Just the little compy from the boat." Alexis says in relief.
"Did he seriously follow us all the way from the boat?" Brooklynn asks.
"What's that?" Alexis asks as the group sees a green light coming from behind the bushes and sees a metal claw step forward.
"The metal claw from the desert. It was from one of these things!" Brooklynn says as the group sees a dog like robot come out of the bushes.
"Unauthorized life form detected." The robot says before the group sees as its mouth opens and reveals electricity from from it as it then zaps and kills the compy much to the others horror before they then hide seeing it is scanning for them now.
"Oi!" A voice shouts revealing to be Mae as she gets the attention of the robot.
"Dr. Mae Turner. Authorized life form. What can I do to assist you? Never do that again for starters. You killed a Compsognathus I could have studied! We don't have any here on the island. Why would you do that?" Mae asks angrily.
"Primary directive is to protect biome ecostasis. Unrecognized lifeforms pose a threat to ecostasis. Finishing patrol." The robot says as the group begins to sneak away as Mae distracts the robot.
"Wait! Uh. No, never mind. Thank goodness you're all okay." Mae says as the robot leaves before she goes over to the others.
"What was that thing?" Ben asks angrily.
"One of the BRADs. Bio Robotic Assistance Droids. They care for the island but I had no idea they did that!" Mae says.
"You mean killing?" Alexis asks angrily.
"Back to the cave. The BRADs aren't authorized to go in there you'll be safe inside. And then you can explain why you lied to me and why you were out here in the first place!" Mae says angrily.
*Timeskip*
"After everything Mantah Corp said they'd do to my family can you blame us for not trusting you?" Sammy asks as the group is back in the cave.
"No I suppose not. But the work I'm doing is good. How could understanding dinosaurs be bad?" Mae asks.
"Yeah well until five minutes ago you thought those BRADs were just friendly assistants." Brooklynn says.
"Okay the BRADs were programmed to protect the biomes. I don't think anyone anticipated seven kids and a Compy showing up unannounced. Drat. It's almost dinner time." Mae says as her device beeps.
"What you getting takeout?" Kenji asks.
"Dinner time for the T. rexes. I get the rare opportunity to observe mother-daughter eating habits. It's actually surprisingly sweet. Until I can figure out how to ensure your safety you all remain here." Mae says sternly.
"Stay away from killer robots and dinosaurs? Yeah no problem." Yazmina says.
*Timeskip*
Later as the group is in the cave after Sammy and Darius left they soon see the door open and see the shadow of one of the BRADs headed their way.
"She said they weren't allowed in here!" Kenji says in alarm.
"Hide!" Yazmina says as the group quickly hides as Alexis and Ben duck under a desk with the robot scanning around before it looks at them.
"Unauthorized life form detected." The robot says as it scans Alexis and Ben is about to zap them before Kenji swings at its head with a golf club and knocks its head off.
"You guys okay?" Brooklynn asks.
"Nice timing and yes thank you." Alexis says in relief.
*Timeskip*
"Oh! Did you see that swing? Oh it was perfect!" Kenji shouts happily.
"Yeah it was." Alexis says as Mae, Darius, and Sammy come in and see the robot.
"What happened here?" Mae asks.
"Uh it came in a few minutes after you left. It was scanning all over the place." Kenji says.
"There goes the one place we were supposed to be safe." Sammy says sadly.
"Apologies Sammy. Seems you were right to be suspicious of Mantah Corp. Time to find out what they're doing to my dinosaurs." Mae says as she holds a white cube.
