Concerning Abandoned Crewmembers
Janeway cleared her throat, then spoke over the shipwide comm. "Attention all hands, this is the captain speaking. I would like to address a rumor that's been making its rounds again. I've been hearing whispers about our crew NOT being a perfect family, claims that we DID abandon some of our own at one point, protests that some 'poor lizards' deserved better.
"I would like to remind the crew that no incident involving myself and a certain other crewman, who shall remain nameless, ever occurred, let alone resulted in three mutated/highly evolved human-salamander offspring. Nor did we leave such offspring on an alien planet, defenseless, to fend for themselves.
"…But if we had it would be entirely Commander Chakotay's fault.
"But no such incident ever occurred. Ever. Nor shall it ever be spoken of again. Because we are a perfect Starfleet family.
"…Anyone who disagrees will be assimilated by Seven of Nine. That is all."
