(I'm having to Change Compa's way of Calling Ragna in the story since it seems she doesn't like the phrase ( ) don't know if it'll show here anyhow; instead, she'll get sir Ragna, hopefully, it shows up and doesn't get deleted.
Rebel 2 - The Reaper versus Bug
As the three fell into the hole, Ragna thought quickly, pulling himself behind the girls. Then, back to the ground, he gritted his teeth as they kept dropping, doing his best to bring them as close to him as possible, snickering, "Well, this can't hurt worse than getting hit by Azrael."
Ragna let loose a silent scowl of pain as he finally crashed into the solid rock below. Beyond the dust, shattered debris and, the deafening screams from the heavy landing, Ragna did his best to ignore the pain of his back being buried into Bloodscythe's side.
"Ouch," Neptune whined out at the top of the three bodies piled together, "Wasn't expecting that change to the story in the remake." After a bit of silence, Neptune, in worry, called out, "Wait a minute...Where's Compa and Rags. Compa! Rags! Where are you guys?!"
Compa gave a dazed reply, with a groan of pain in her voice, "You're on top of me, Nep-Nep." Neptune gave a whimpered oh in response while Compa continued, "I don't know where sir Ragna is, though."
Neptune followed up with, "I hope he had a better landing than us, though I guess landing on you was soft Compa." Compa dryly stared at her before coming to a grim realization, "Ah Nep-Nep, we might be on, sir Ragna!?"
A loud grumble from the aforementioned Reaper sent both girls shooting off of him. While Compa did rapid short bows while apologizing and, Neptune dipped behind her in fear of retribution for her bantering, Ragna sat up. He rolled his shoulders, feeling the Azure's healing effect popping bones into place and fixing any minor fractures that had occurred from the "rough" landing.
Coming to a stand, Ragna sighed out while taking a breath, "Not the worst fall I've had but, it definitely hurt." he then looked to Compa and Neptune, asking, "You girls alright? That wasn't exactly a graceful landing."
"Eh, are we alright?! Rags, we should be asking you that!" Neptune shouted in shock at Ragna's nonchalance over the incredible fall, and Compa followed her statement with, "Nep-Nep's right, sir Ragna, you should let me check for any bad boo-boos."
Ragna damn near cringed at what Compa said as she quickly moved to his back amidst his mental anguish. With a slight flushness to her cheeks, she moved what she could of the jacket and hakama, with both Ragna's belts and Bloodscythe in her way. Glancing over his back, to her shock, there didn't seem to be any externally viewable injuries, that of course, didn't stop her from using some healing magic in case the fall had damaged any internal structures.
Giving a small sigh of relief, she told Ragna, "Sir Ragna doesn't seem to have any problems but," with a puffed out left cheek, she twirled in front of him with a severe look in her creamy eyes. "If you ever feel the slightest bit of pain while moving, please let me know, OK, Sir Ragna." it ended with a happy smile.
"Yeah, whatever you say, Doc," Ragna answered dismissively towards the nurse. Then, unknowing that Compa had taken the uncaring statement as a compliment to her skills, he mused, "Reminds of Litchi, just not as crazy or in love with a maneating slime ball(Arakune)."
Neptune then cheekily added on, "Yeah, Rags. Thanks for the save; the fall would have been way worse without you saving our hides." Ragna rolled his eyes at her, and Compa gave a disapproving look at her joking tone. Sighing, Neptune grumbled at the failed comedy and reiterated her thanks, "Look, I'm serious, Rags, that could've ended up leaving us in a worse state if you weren't there...thanks." She scratched her left cheek while finishing her sentence, slightly off-put by how serious it came out.
"It's fine, Neptune," Ragna waved her off before taking in the cave; it was a deep blue; what little ambient light there was created dazzling sparkles off of shining rocks and gems illuminating the darkness. He couldn't help but ask, "So, any clues on where the hell we ended up?"
Compa made a noise before stating the obvious, "I think we're somewhere under the forest." Restraining the obvious no-shit Sherlock on his lips, Ragna let her continue to say, "But, there's something wrong with this place...it feels off for some reason."
While Neptune agreed with Compa, Ragna raised an eyebrow, wondering if he was missing something here. But, besides the beauty (Which could be a deathtrap in the waiting anyways), he didn't feel anything off, nor was his innate sense for life-threatening danger being triggered.

Ragna peeking around the area, and keeping a general overwatch of the site, only picked up bits and pieces about the conversation over some disc the girls had found. Then, when an earth-shattering roar split through the caves, a large sword made of stone nearly impaled Compa. Luckily the Reaper caught the weapon with the Azure by the tip, almost appearing as a red blur as he pulled Compa back.
Neptune had sweatdropped in surprise, while Compa was stuck in a mixture of shock from the near-death experience and awe at Ragna's physical power. He clenched down on the sword tip, the darkness of the Azure hovering over it as he narrowed his eyes at the equally hulking owner of the weapon. Before Ragna could shatter the sword tip, it dissipated from his grip in a stream of data. The towering Vermin Guard clasping a claw around the weapon's hilt before releasing another roar.
As Ragna dived into the fight with the monster, Neptune fell into a strange state of blank murmurings. Leading Ragna into the somewhat awkward situation he was now in, he couldn't use the Azure's power hell even his full strength in such a tight space. Especially since the cave didn't seem all that stable if falling in was anything to go by, and if he did go that far, he needed the girls to run from however harmful of a cave-in such a match could result in.
Entering a weapon lock with the monster several times his size, he snarled at his opponent. The ground was beginning to crack under them and, with a mighty swing, Ragna broke the lock. Before lunging forward and delivering a decisive blow to its stomach, sending the Vermin Guard skidding backward in surprise. The giant monster's back crashed into a rock wall, debris crashing down into it. Then, though it didn't seem to mean much, the creature let loose a hellish roar shattering the rocks down further and sending them towards the Reaper.
Right as Ragna was going to use a wave of Azure flames to destroy the rocks flying at him when there was a sudden flash of light. Ragna clicked his tongue as it died down; there was a woman in front of him suddenly. She had knocked all the flying rocks out of the air, in that single flash's instance, her sword faintly glowing with purplish/lilac energy.
(Pause Music)
Taking a moment, Ragna had to consider the impossible since Neptune's mumbling self wasn't there, and Compa had once again frozen in silent awe. "Oi, is that you Neptune?" Ragna asked casually, coming out from behind her while hoisting Bloodscythe onto his shoulder.
"That's correct Ragna, sorry for leaving you alone for so long with this ugly bug." The now transformed Neptune replied with a slight smirk continuing, "I hope it hasn't been playing too rough with you."
Ragna cocked an eyebrow up at Neptune's more refined personality and responded with a hint of annoyance, "Oh, please, I've met literal brats tougher than this roach; I just figured you wouldn't; shut up over me not leaving some of the fun to you." Neptune let out a small giggle in response to Ragna's playing along with her.
"Oh my gosh, your both finally getting along. Yessy, this is amazing!" Compa cried in joy before hopping behind them, crying out, "Let's beat up this big buggy together." Ragna blandly looked to Neptune, uttering out under his breath, "Go back to pissing me off when this is over; I'd rather not deal with that for the rest of my life." Neptune curtly nodded, making Ragna feel like he'd regret saying that.
(Music unpause)
Neptune was a lilac blur dancing past the giant monster's guard, landing a stunningly fast blow. The first few hits delivered in seconds, a slash damaging its shoulder, another carving its back, and finally, a kick buffered by lilac energy sending the beast reeling. However, it found its footing incredibly fast with a good show of durability, going for a sweep with its sword.
In reaction, Ragna put himself in the blade's path, stopping it with a slash of Bloodscythe. The monster's eyes ignited with anger giving off a bellowing roar dropping rock spikes that Neptune and Compa were forced to avoid. Within that space of time, Vermin Guard reared its sword back and dived forward for a stab on Ragna. Ragna snickered, jumping backward as the sword tip slammed into where he stood.
Unbothered by the dust and rocks flying from the impact point, he planted his foot onto the flat of the blade, locking it in place. Then, leaping off the sword toward's the monster's face, it became data and rematerialized back to a striking position in the Vermin Guard's right arm. Next, bringing down the sword toward's the Reaper, Compa shot a liquidy beam from her needle tip into the open wound on its shoulder, causing it to flinch. Next, Neptune rushed toward's the right arm bending it awkwardly with a heavy strike with the blunt of her sword.
Ragna twisted his body in the air while roaring out, "Bloodscythe!" the blade popping up as the hilt extended down. Red energy shot from the now horizontal edge, curving into the form of a disturbing flowing red scythe blade. Ragna released a powerful slash into the monster's chest with a turning slash, the blade's red energy sending it flying backward.
The Vermin Guard went to catch itself with its front mandibles and, Neptune responded by slicing the tips of the mandibles off. Compa followed up with several strong blasts of liquid- energy from her syringe, destabilizing the roof above the monster. Seeing this, the Vermin Guard snarled, going to leap up and dodge the falling rubble.
"Oh no, you don't Carnage Scissors!/You're not going anywhere!" Neptune slammed her foot into the monster's head with a burst of speed moments into its jump forward, yelling in unison with Ragna. The attack sending the monster face-first into Ragna's own, a blindingly fast downward's strike with the flat of Bloodscythe's blade bouncing its head off the rock, followed by a large explosion of darkness sending the monster smashing into the broken up part of the roof.
Both Ragna and Neptune jumped back as the monster brought the entire section of the cave's roof down on top of it.
(Music end)
Ragna whistled, saying, "Tch, talk about bringing the house down." he did a quick spin of Bloodscythe, locking it onto his belts while the still transformed followed up with a confident smile, "Yes, that should do it."
Compa grinned before clapping her hands together, saying, "Nep-Nep, sir Ragna that was brilliant; you guys beat that monster in a flash." Ragna nodded, his eyes wandering to the Azure in musing, "Doubt I needed to use it as much as I did there," his eyes going to the girls who were still celebrating, "Thankfully, these two aren't the types to be too curious."
"Woah," In a bright flash and a stream of data surrounding her, Neptune turned back with a whimper. She nearly fell to a knee though, Compa caught her as Neptune continued, "Man, I feel really drained."
Then a voice Neptune and Ragna recognized called out in the group's head, "Neptune, Ragna, well done the both of you...and Compa, would you be alright?" Then, in a more cheery tone, Neptune answered, while Ragna released a scowl in unison, "You!/Histy!"
"Wait, Rags, you know Histy too?" Neptune looked at the Reaper, surprised as he clicked his tongue before replying, "Yeah, let's just keep it as she's the reason I'm here..." he paused before giving off a deathly tone, "Right?"
Understandably intimidated, the voice whimpered out, "Ye..yes, that's correct. However, I feel a proper introduction is in order, no?" Ragna nodded along, wondering if she could respond to such a thing, and the voice continued, "My name is Historie. Thank you for agreeing to such a selfish request, Ragna."
"Not like I had much else I could do at that point," was the Reaper's response that only served to make Compa and Neptune more curious about their companion as Histoire let out a nervous giggle. He then closed his eyes and continued, "But I'm not exactly that pissed over it, better than the alternative, so thanks for the save Historie."
Historie responded with a slightly relaxed tone, "Your welcome, Ragna..." Historie then turned her attention to Compa, "And uh Compa, please do answer my question."
"Oh, um, I'm doing OK, thanks to sir Ragna and Nep-Nep." Compa replied with a small smile and then added on asking, "So miss Historie, was it? Where exactly are you?" Compa puffed out a cheek as Historie paused, trying to think of a way to explain her situation with what time she had left.
"RRRRAAAAAAGH!" A hellish roar of rage bellowed amongst falling stones, under the rubble, the muffled scream of anger accompanied one of the Vermin Guard's long spider-like lower mandible shooting from the pile. Ragna brought his hand to Bloodscythe's hilt, snickering out, "Of course this damn thing wants around two."
"It's Alive!" Neptune and Compa shrieked in fear at the monster's apparent survival. Then, before Ragna could say anything to the girls, they grabbed him by both his belts and the back of the jacket crying in unison, "Let's get outta here!" bolting off while dragging him from behind.
Ragna couldn't help but feel embarrassment and some shame, thinking, "Thank Christ, those assholes aren't here to see this." The Grim Reaper, famed for waging a one-man war, killing droves of NOL officials and mercenaries to the point where he was looked at as a God of Death and literally wanted by the entire world having a bounty worth a small country. He was now being dragged by two cutesy girls from some overgrown roach like honestly, it was humiliating.
(At Compa's House)
"Haa, Haa. We finally got away." Neptune gasped for air while whimpering that out. She had slumped into a bean bag chair while Ragna was leaning his back against Compa's dresser. Said Nurse, was currently in her kitchen preparing some pudding for the exhausted Neptune.
Ragna rolled his eyes, telling Neptune, "Seriously, we should have taken it out when we had the chance; now it'll come back pissed and ready." Neptune pailed at Ragna's point, and with a sweatdrop, she made a nervous chuckle in response.
Compa then entered the room, passing the now, somewhat terrified Neptune her budding, with a look of slight concern.
"So uh, Histy, if you're still here, do you know what that thing is?" Neptune asked while trying to void any fear from the thought of the Vermin Guard's retribution. She played with the strange object in her hands while Histoire let out a small breath of relief.
Then, Historie answered with a serious tone, "That is a key fragment. It's one of many pieces needed to free me of my seal." Ragna's eyes narrowed as two perilous people from his world came to mind, "Could Historie be like the Terumi or...Izanami...no, or at least she doesn't sound like it." despite the attempt to rid himself of his doubt, he couldn't stop himself from thinking, "But, sounding like it doesn't mean shit does it?"
"You're sealed up, Histy?" Neptune asked in surprise, and after confirmation from Historie, she continued with, "So I'm guessing you want us to gather them up and free you?"
Histoire replied, "Yes, there are other key fragments in each of the lands; with them gathered, you could free me." Neptune and Compa raised a concern about the actual danger involved in this mission, leaving Ragna slightly pleased that the girls were thinking about themselves before leaping to the voice's aid. "Yes, it would be hazardous. However, if you lift the seal, I can help Neptune's memories be restored."
Ragna scowled at the voice's words, sweetening the deal like that was the least honorable thing it could do in his presence. With that in mind, his eyes aimed at Neptune; with hope beaming in her face, she was about to jump into Historie's mission. Finally, the Reaper decided to voice his opinion on the subject, starting with an annoyed sigh.
"Hold your horses, Neptune," Ragna pulled away from the dresser and continued with his arms crossed, "We don't have damn reason to trust Historie at the moment, besides her offering to help with your memories. She can hear us talking wherever, whenever she wants and who's to say it's not all empty promises to use us."
Neptune and Compa looked at each other in uncertainty; Ragna had a good point. Neptune put on a disgruntled expression that made Ragna feel wrong about interjecting, but he wasn't going to get pulled around too quickly.
"Look, I know because of what happened in the past, you might have a hard time trusting my words alone, Ragna. But, please, I will be able to help Neptune and, maybe I can do something for you as well." As Historie pleaded to him, he noticed the sad looks of the girls, and following a heavy sigh, he looked to the roof.
Ragna grumbled, "Haa, screw it. OK, I'm in, done more reckless bullshit before for less anyways, so no use arguing." Ultimately just giving in to the situation, Ragna agreed to go along with this crazy adventure, hoping it wouldn't bite them in the ass later on.

Wlyman2009 - The reboot has been sort of on the back burner for a while; when I made my youtube channel and thought I want to do a Gacha series on this, I got stuck wondering how to do it properly. Then, it just became screw it. So, let's make a reboot of the story and do an omake series to see how that goes.
