Rebel 3
"So before we go out adventuring, we need to go on a small shopping trip." Compa said while looking through her purse to check how much pocket money she had saved up. Ragna nodded along in ageement; it would be good for them to be prepared for whatever nonsense could pop up on this adventure of theirs.
Neptune also chipped in with a rapid nodding, still lounging in a bean bag chair, and Compa followed up with, "I was also thinking of stopping somewhere to eat out since we've all been working so hard." Neptune didn't need to hear anymore, she jumped out of her seat and, took Compa by the arm.
"That sounds like so much fun, Compa!" She pulled the nurse in front of her, heading toward's the door with, "I'll follow along like a bundle of colorful miniature alien faires," Neptune then stared at Ragna for a moment before continuing, "And Rags will be like our terrifying older brother."
Ragna held a growl back at that statement but ultimately relented that Neptune didn't know she was hitting sore nerves. So the Reaper simply tacked on," Let's just get going already."
(In Planeptune)
Ragna whistled at the large city they had entered; it was pretty advanced looking as well. "Damn, this place put's Kagutsuchi to shame." The Reaper couldn't help but think about how the Thirteenth Hierarchical City compared to Planeptune.
"Man, I couldn't really tell before we got here. But, this place is huge." Neptune said in shock; her eyes sparkled while Compa gave her a soft smile. In reply, Compa told them, "Yeppy, Planeptune is the most advanced city out of the four lands."
Before Ragna could inquire about what the other nations were like, Neptune commented with a dribble of drool gathering on her mouth, "Ah, so that's why you have that super yummy pudding!" Ragna sighed into his hand while Compa gave her own in sync.
"Um, you can find them anywhere, and..." Compa quickly noticed Neptune wasn't listening and sighed out, "well, never mind." while walking down the street, letting Compa take over the window shopping, Ragna was picking up on a conversation going on off to the side.
"Hey, have you heard that rumor going around?" One of the men whispered; the guy next to him replied with, " Yeah, they discovered some new cave under the forest, right? What about it?"
The first guy then continued with, "Well, that's not all. Turns out the place is completely infested with monsters." That made the second guy bring up in reply, "Yeah, that sounds about right. So everyone's saying that the place must be some kind of breeding ground for monsters."
"Oh, You've gotta be kidding me?!" He chuckled before going on to say, "Breeding...that sounds kind of cool." making Ragna click his tongue in annoyance.
He couldn't help but think, "Really, what the hell is wrong with some people." Though the two numbskulls did give out something worth noting by saying, "Yeah, I know, and the guild is looking for some poor saps to check it out."
"Seriously?!" The other man replied in shock before saying with a half-worried expression, "I thought the CPU would do something about it." Ragna's eyes went to Compa, who had noticed him listening in and joined him; she had a highly concerned expression
Ragna decided to keep quiet; he wasn't really good with these sorts of moments. Neptune chose to chime in, though, wrapping a hand in Compa's as a sort of comfort with a cheery expression, "Well, at least we have somewhere to go now." She then pointed forward and exclaimed, "Alright, Compa let's hold on that shopping trip, lead the way to the guild."
As they started walking off, Ragna came beside Compa and told her," If your nervous about heading back into that cave, you don't have to worry; we already know what to expect...so long as we don't fall into any more holes."
"That's not what I'm worried about, silly. I...I just want to help Planeptune and the goddess." Compa giggled into her hand before saying that, then her cheeks gained a slight flush while whispering out, "And thank you for worrying about me, Sir Ragna."
"Whatever, just don't go thinking I'm nice or something. I'm just an annoying asshole who hates it when people worry over the small shit." was Ragna's reply, which got another light giggle from Compa, as he gave his own slight grin of satisfaction.
(At the Guild)
Neptune burst into the building first with a shining amount of energy and looked around the guild with child-like curiosity, saying with a wonderous tone, "So this is the guild, huh?" Compa was second into the building and immediately did her best to rein in Neptune to explain the different parts of the guild.
Ragna, on the other hand, took in not the guild building but the people in it. First, the usual gatherers and hunters were prepped enough to handle the small stuff with their odd jobs. Then, the more warrior kind who cleared out infestations and Scouters of dangerous environments. Finally, the shady mercs, the type of idiots who threw their lives away, picking a fight with the Reaper for riches.
"Ah, that must be it!" Neptune's exclamation repurchased Ragna's attention to his companions for the moment. However, he kept close as Compa and Neptune went to the registry. Ragna's eyes narrowed dangerously, feeling the pressure of others' gazes on his back. Turning his head while Compa did her best to talk over Neptune about adequately registering to do a job, he gained a scowl from what he noticed.
Some of those less savory men and women had begun staring at Neptune and Compa with interest. "Tch, these dumb bastards." Ragna immediately put himself between the girls and the group's gaze. He then decided to look at them with a special glare for Kagura and other assholes of the like. After going back to looking at the girls, Ragna thought, "Let them try something. What'll come from it will make my day."
What Ragna didn't realize was that the group had become scared and submissive from that single glare. The Reaper was mainly used to fighting dutiful soldiers of a corrupt government or monsters in human(or not so human in regards to Arakune) form.
"Rags, Compa, let's make this dungeon dive one hell of a success." Neptune did a hop towards Ragna while exclaiming that he softened his look before nodding in reply. Though as they were stepping out, he turned, giving one last lethal look to make sure they understood to not even entertain the thought of touching his allies.
(In the Monster Cave)
"So back into depths of hell," Ragna said that while walking behind the girls making sure that nothing could get the drop on them. Neptune sweatdropped, muttering out in reply, "Isn't that a little too serious, Rags."
She then followed it up with, "So, uh Rags, Compa do either of you know what we're supposed to be doing anyway?" Ragna released an exasperated breath while Compa puffed out her cheeks before finally responding.
"Nep-Nep, you didn't read the fine print, did you?" As Compa asked that, Ragna stifled a chuckle of disbelief. They actually have a fine print on Job requests? When he was the most wanted man in the world, the NOL didn't even bother explaining a reason why they should hunt him. Just put a considerably high number on his head(worth a small country) and, human greed did the rest for them, besides actually beating Ragna.
Neptune's answer didn't surprise, to say the least, "Nope." due to the disappointed stares, she returned with, "...Oh come on! No one reads the fine print! I never have, never will." While Ragna rolled his eyes in disappointment, Compa puffed out a cheek.
"I don't think that's something to be proud of Nep-Nep." Compa told the girl while Ragna scowled out in reply, "It's not. She's either too stupid to realize it or doesn't care anyway." Neptune gave a comically pained expression from the comments, giving small mutters of mutiny and so cruel.
Compa then went on to remind Neptune why they were here in the first place," It looks like we're checking on the monsters and seeing what they're up to." That's when Neptune gained a grim expression.
"Um, speaking of monsters, isn't that huge one going to be lurking around somewhere?" Compa nodded a yes to Neptune, which turned the lilac-haired girl pure white in fear.
Ragna decided to chip in and tell her, "Please, like that bastard bug has a chance against us this time around." After a few easy fights, Ragna had decided that the caves they were exploring were more stable than before, meaning he could toss the warrior roach around as much as needed.
"St...still Rags, that thing was scary as hell the first time!" Neptune cried out comically, waving her arms rapidly, "The second time will only be worse, I'm sure!"
Compa waved Neptune off, nervously looking to the side while saying, "Calm down, Neptune," then explained, "There were other people sent by the guild, right? So, it's probably been dealt with already." While Neptune quickly and hopefully agreed, Ragna scowled, knowing very well that lady luck had abandoned the group the moment he joined.
(After walking for some time)
"Man, the deeper we go, the darker it gets," Neptune said while daintily walking at the front of the group. Compa's immediate response was, "Nep-Nep, where are you?" she whimpered out before continuing, "It's so dark, I can't see you at all."
Ragna then spoke up, moving carefully at the back of the group, "Just keep moving forward, you two, there's some light up ahead." he then paused before adding on, "And Neptune, for the love of God, don't trip off an edge or fall into a damn hole."
"Easier said than done with how dark it is, Rags!" Neptune replied while continuing forward at a steady pace, while not paying attention to what was in front of her.
Compa then tried to caution Neptune, tacking on, "Sir Ragna might be picking on you Nep-Nep, but it's hazardous, so please be care...eep!" Compa noticed Neptune falling and almost dashed over to help her until Ragna caught her shoulder, saying with an annoyed expression.
"Hold it, Compa, the idiot, went headfirst into someone the ground is too stable to fall out from under her anyways." The Reaper held an exasperated look at Neptune, who grumbled while holding her forehead.
"Ouch, watch where you're going!" The girl who fell on her butt scowled out before aiming her eyes on the group and said in surprise, "Wait. Why are there kids here?!" Ragna's eyes narrowed immediately and, coughed getting her attention, making her scoff out, "Sorry and their older brother?"
Ragna replied with a murderous growl, "Watch it, pipsqueak your the same height as Neptune and would be just as easy for me to bunt." Then, as invisible line electricity sparked between them, Neptune moved to salvage the situation with Compa.
"So uh, who are you?" Neptune asked the girl, who was getting up and dusting her coat off. The girl gave a suspicious stare before closing her eyes and giving off a sigh.
She introduced herself while crossing her arms, "The name's IF, I'm the Wind Walker of Gamindustri!" IF then glared at Ragna, scowling out, "And I'm no squirt. In fact, I'm a refined lady."
"Right, Compa's got you beat in the lady department completely brat." Ragna gave a quick-witted response while closing his eyes. Then, cracking his red eye open to see IF stunned silent, Compa had her a hand on her chest looking to floor with a bright flush on her face and Neptune wearing a shit-eating grin.
"Oh ho~," Neptune decided to start before saying, "Well, well, Rags, I didn't think you were the type to think about the finer things." Each word made Compa turn redder as Neptune continued, "I mean, I definitely agree with you though, Compa is totally more of a lady than Iffy or me up there~."
Ragna wasn't dense or anything, so he quickly figured out what Neptune was on about and snarled, "I didn't mean it like, oh whatever, just get back on topic, god damn it." So while Compa did her best to rein in her embarrassment, Neptune did the best she could to space away from Ragna while giggling and, IF, pulled herself together.
"Anyways, why are you all down here...?" IF asked which Neptune quickly responded, "Oh, we're from the guild, believe it or not~. I'm Neptune, the girl with the red tomato face is Compa and, the big guy's Ragna."
IF was nodding along. She acknowledged that the group was working for the guild as well. Just before the group could continue, however, an ever-familiar roar shook the cave.
"S..sir Ragna, Nep-Nep is that..." Compa whimpered out in slight fear as the Vermin Guard dropped into the room IF had just been leaving. Ragna's hand went straight for Bloodscythe while scowling out, "Yeah, it's the overgrown beetle again."
"Not Again!" Neptune cried out, latching to Ragna's other arm, which made him click his tongue. IF could only sweatdrop before turning to the group and asking, "Wait, you know this thing?"
Ragna scoffed, "Know it? We kicked its ass once already, and it seems eager for a round two." IF looked at him in disbelief but, before she could discount them, Compa unwittingly spoke up.
"Yeppy, Sir Ragna and, Nep-Nep completely sandbagged the big bad bug before." As Compa spoke, Neptune continued to whine and whimper about the creature's appearance.
She cried out dramatically, "Rags, what should I do, i...it's probably looking for revengeance!" The Reaper snickered at that, wrenching his arm free to adjust his collar while replying to her, "How about shutting up and transforming already? This damn thing isn't gonna kill itself."
"I can't fully believe you guys beat that thing." IF commented while entering a combat stance," but if you can fight, I'll need the help." She got a scoff out of Ragna, who replied, "Tch, quit treating us like amateurs runt, we'll show you that we can keep up, hell if you're not careful, we'll outdo you."
IF smiled at the attitude Ragna had while Compa continued pushing Neptune to fight, "Come on, Nep-Nep, if we don't stop this now, it could become a threat to Planeptune!" Something seemed to click with those words.
"Your right, Compa," Neptune put on a severe face while saying, "Let me go super mode from the beginning then!" there was a flash of light accompanied by a stream of data enveloping Neptune as she transformed.
Ragna felt the Azure twitch; all this combat hype seemed to be calling out to it. The Azure wanted to run wild itself, and Ragna sighed, looking to IF before thinking, "Damn it, why even bother? There are crazy-ass monsters and transformations anyways no point in holding myself back."
IF was shocked at the sudden transformation. Compa talked to IF about it as the transformed Neptune said, "Ready to finish this bug off for good Ragna," before he could give a response, she gave a soft smile, "That is if I don't; kill it before you~." However, she held an almost sultry mature tone while saying that.
"Please, only in your dreams will you ever have the chance to best me, Neptune," Ragna replied with a sharp look at her, which only got a confident chuckle out of her.
Neptune returned with, "You're on Rags. If I win, you have to give 1 compliment to each of us girls." Ragna rolled his eyes before at her before focusing on the looming monster.
Reviews~
Kerrowe - Yeppers, the glitch itself is from putting Mr in front of Ragna's name happens with Compress from MHA too, at least for me anyway. Don't know why it happens but, it seems to be random cause later in the original Hyperdimensional Reaper, I did have it stick around sometimes.
IsekaiFanboi - I know, but the original thing I was going to have her call Ragna doesn't like working for me. Also glad you're enjoying the content despite the random, slow updates.
Wlyman2009 - I intend to follow the game's location order, but I plan to change specific interactions and events.
Lance John Estrella Bautista - Kinda just depends. If people want it to go the harem route, I can make it that way.
Bloodedge 2.0 - Same with above. If ya guys want to see the pairing change, I'm gonna just have a vote, I guess.
Vote ~
