On a world abandoned by sapient life a small ship set down on an ancient landing pad. Inside the cockpit the senior padawan let out a slightly shuddery sigh as she shut everything down.

The slight nudge down the bond with her master was filled with encouragement and reassurance. For a moment she leaned into the sensation before drawing away with a small apology.

This mission was on her shoulders and her shoulders alone.

"My last mission as a padawan…" She said to herself, her melodic voice soft with a clear Coruscanti accent.

It was hard to believe that after everything she had gone through in her life she had made it to her Knighthood trials.

She could not be more grateful to her second master if she'd tried.

"Alright, Liera. Time to go!" She said as she opened the cockpit and jumped spryly to the ground.

Long pink hair floated around her, one long strand behind her right ear braided with splashes of colorful beads. The robes she wore were a pale cream and off white with a pastel pink obi sash. Her cloak was white and featured a wide hood while her boots were a soft fawn and quite sturdy. Twin lightsabers tapped against her thighs as she walked toward the temple that practically sang in the force.

Master Yyrraal had been sent on the twice yearly inspection to ensure nothing had started living in the abandoned temple and after three weeks of no contact Liera had been sent to find out what had happened to them.

Stepping up to the ancient doorway she reached out with the force to sense any danger but was met with welcoming warmth and acceptance. The old temple had a feeling of melancholy around it, a deep loneliness that made the hair on the back of her neck prickle.

It felt almost… alive.

A shiver ran down her spine but she squared her shoulders, checked her belt to ensure everything was in place, and shifted her medical bag so it was out of the way.

One would think that a jedi who was skilled in force healing wouldn't need a bag filled with medical supplies. But if there was something that could be healed with more conventional methods it was always best to try that first. The force was powerful, but it could also be a double edged sword. What use to anyone was a healer who had burned themselves out? No use, that's what.

Walking the silent halls she marveled at the ancient mosaics that glittered like thousands of stars on a clear dark night. The light from the large windows hit the walls and scattered the light in glowing rainbows that danced across the stone floor.

On a whim she chose to look more closely at the mosaics. Her eyes widened when she realized that each one was a crystal and not all of them were kyber. They hummed as she got closer, resonating with her own adegans, and she felt as if she were in the presence of another jei for a moment before the crystals wen silent again.

She wondered briefly if they were lonely here without the other half of their souls. Yet as she brushed her hand gently over the wall she felt that they were content amongst their siblings. Never alone but laying mostly dormant. Like the story of the eternally sleeping maiden.

Something tugged at the edge of her senses and she knew it was the force guiding her. While her master was also more in tune with the living force she had worked with Liera for years on unblocking whatever had been holding her back from using her full abilities. Now, while she still didn't get visions or feelings about the future, she could connect more closely with her instincts and sense the flow of the force more keenly.

She walked through the winding pathways, each step taking her closer to whatever was calling out to her, and stopped in front of a door.

Reaching out to open it she drew her hand back as if burned. Whatever was behind the door was powerful, ancient, and it sang to her senses. But it didn't feel malicious, only curious and excited.

Almost like the spirit of a youngling.

Steeling herself, knowing that this was where the force was leading her, she placed her hands against the door and shoved with all her might.

'You are here again.' A voice said as white light enveloped her body, blinding her and overwhelming her senses. 'I cannot halt the process, but I can alter your path.' Her ears rang and she swore the voice was everywhere and nowhere at once. 'There is one who needs you, a child lost.'

A… lost child?

'Little star whose fate was fractured, stand by your conviction. Let your healer's soul guide you.'

The ringing was getting louder and it felt as if her head would split open from pain.

'You are never alone.'

The light vanished entirely and she was left in blessed darkness.
