"In This world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental being or law?"
"Is it like the hand of god hovering above?..."
"At least it is true, that man has no control. Even over his own will"
-—-
Good days are hard to come by, especially after the second impact. In some places around the world, people were able to put back their entire countries and return to the lives they lived after going through many hardships and wars fought all around the globe.
Many places were still warzones even after 13 years of fighting and trying to re-establish countries that fell after the brutal attack hit the earth. Around the Earth there are many that were completely destroyed or were able to bounce back. Some places like the U.K. had half their land taken down, with only mainland England still remaining.
Nevertheless, life went on and people were forced to adjust to the new ways of life they were given.
In the great continent of Europe, many countries were split up and fought over. While most countries still kept their natural borders, the governments of these countries were in shambles with different groups fighting for dominance like it was the sengoku period of japan only on a much larger scale.
In the countries where land was fought over, people usually fought in bands or groups to form their own armies. These armies would fight each other in order to tackle hold of the government they were fighting for. Across Europe there were sieges, trench warfare, calvary battles, and just regular old war. Although there were many different bands and armies fighting, there were still monarchies and central governments in play.
A thing that became the regular is hiring mercenaries or paying groups of them in order to take care of certain people or fight armies that oppose them.
When it came to fighting, people would just use whatever they were able to make. Most people used guns but since not everyone could get their hands on the bigger assault rifles or machine guns, most people would use handguns in smaller fights and even bows and knives if they really needed to. But even as the times changed, war stayed war
Across France there was one battle at a fort that was becoming very loud and violent, of which people across the land could hear the battle cries and sound of a battering ram breaking over a large gate. And when it finally gave open, the fury began.
In the middle of the invading army was a chubby man in a mix of normal all blue general uniform and spots of body armor on his shoulders, legs, chest, and head. While he may have been the commander, the body armor uniform is very very common as it's the typical soldier uniform.
As the commander and his army swarmed through the fort's gate, he shouted the main objective to all those on his side.
"Bring me the general's head and you'll win as much reward as you'd possibly want! Charge!"
As bodies fell all around the citadel either from bullet shots, arrow wounds, or stabs from different kinds of blades. One giant man in pure white armor covering his entire body stood tall and valiantly against the corpses of those who opposed him and failed. The man gave a confident and haughty laugh to intimidate the others who came for his head before the men around him shouted with fear and astonishment.
"It's Bazuzo!"
"It's the grey beast Bazuzo!"
"That's Bazuso, also known as the thirty man slayer"
"Also known as the bear slaughterer"
Bazuso then shouted back at all the men huddled around him.
"As long as I stand here none of you shall pass! Who else wants to taste the bullets from my minigun! Or would you rather feel the sharpness of my axe?!"
Bazuso was an enormous man who chose to wield a giant minigun and axe. He did everything with appearance and weapon arsenal to spread fear and intimidation to anyone who dares to come across him.
"What are you fools DOING! Kill him and earn your reward already!" said the commander
"He's talking nonsense!"
"He's not paying us that much, you cheapskate!
"Yeah, why don't you do it yourself! You're a coward too!"
As the general was about to make his retort, a young boy appeared in between the crowd and was moving towards the great Bazuzo with a determined look beneath his helmet.
The boy wasn't wearing anything flashy per say. He was wearing complete body armour all over, a yellow scarf around his neck, and a camo uniform underneath. As for his weapons
He didn't have much. On his personnel he carried with him two small but very sharp combat knives and a handgun on his side holster that seemed to be a colt m1911.
"I see you've got some balls kid! But you're gonna regret it!"
Bazuzo gave a big laugh before continuing
"You're just a kid so i'll tell ya what boy! I'm gonna send you to hell personally with my axe! Either way it's pathetic that a child like you is permitted to fight on a battlefield alongside grown men! There seems to be a shortage in your army! Are all the men cowards?!"
But before he could utter another degrading comment to the conquering army, The boy ran at him wielding his two great knives with such speed that he couldn't even comprehend what was happening until he felt slashes against his armor and axe.
Bazuso, came back to his senses and started trying to block the attacks that he felt were coming from all directions. Soon he was trapped in a situation where he couldn't attack because if he let his guard down then he would be faced with knives stabbing into his armor and onto his flesh faster than he would be able to fight back.
The only noises coming from them both were the clash of the blades against his body and his weapon, and the grunts of force and strength from their attacks.
Around them, the men were speaking with disbelief that this child soldier could be putting up such a fight against a warrior that everyone thought was unkillable.
'Such speed!"
"He's dominating him!"
After a constant struggle between the two, their blades both met in a great clash that put them at standstill. The mercenary's knives made a deep cut on his axe that started at the edge and spreaded to the middle. The great warrior himself was rageful with bewilderment that of all the men he's ever fought, it was this miniscule brat that brought him to his limits.
Both of the fighters bounced back from the altercation and prepared themselves for one final attack to end this show. With all the strength they could both muster, swung their blades. Bazuso's axe immediately shattered when it grazed the younger fighter's helmet. As for the kid, his combat knives completely broke through The warriors armor and slashed open his side.
Blood was spraying everywhere from the side that had taken the blow, and the great fighter was sent down on the ground barely holding the remains of what was once his ferocious axe. All the rest of the soldiers could do was ogle at the secticle happening in front of them. The mighty warrior that was feared across the land was being defeated, and by an adolescent child no less.
The child wasted no time striking off his enemy's helmet to finish him off.
"Spare mercy please!" was the last thing the great and powerful Bazuso ever said.
With one pull of a trigger from his small handgun, the proud warrior's brains and blood were splattered all over the ground. The body fell to the ground without any grace at all and all that was left were amazed spectators and a boy panting for air.
"Now everyone! Seize the castle! Charge!"
From a nearby post, a soldier in white armor and a falcon-like helmet was watching the scene with much intent directed towards the boy.
The pint sized hero that had fought that fearsome foe was known by little but went by the name of shinji ikari.
Shinji was paid handsomely for his astounding actions against Bazuso and he couldn't be happier. Now he would finally be able to get some decent food instead of the horrible rabbit stew and whatever meat he could get his hands on that he'd been ingesting.
As he was storing away his earnings, the commander from the raid came to pay him a visit.
"You impressed me today. Even if it was a fluke, a rascal like you defeating Bazuso is truly unbelievable. Young man, would you be interested in serving me on a regular basis? Your salary could one day be triple! I would even promote you to a rank warrior if you like?"
The rascal in question was barely even listening to a word he said, all he wanted to do was get his reward, get some grub, find somewhere to stay, and take a long hot shower before heading off to sleep. While he was still fantasizing about what he would do, the commander was still rattling on to him about keeping him for himself.
"Don't you think that's a deal a mere mercenary could never resist?"
The mercenary didn't even give his proposal a thought, the boy just wanted to leave and he needed to make that clear. He began walking away while giving his reply.
"Our contract expired today, didn't it? It seems the fighting is completed over here."
Even though he was walking away and his body language was tense, the commander still wanted to talk to him regardless of how he felt and began tailing him.
"But wait, I'll secure your position and income as well. You wont need to put your self in danger as a grunt or anythi-
Suddenly, the man reached out to the boy. He grabbed him by the arm in hopes to get his attention. Shinji did not like this one bit. Being touched by someone like him felt so wrong and brought up horrible memories. He could not stop himself from shouting even if his ego could control his id in this moment.
"Don't touch ME! ….. I'm sorry for the outburst but don't you ever touch me, you got that!"
Shinji tossed the hand that tried to hold him aside and continued walking off, just hoping that he could forget this ever happened.
All the older gentleman and his men around him could do was watch flabbergasted as the boy who had so much potential, vanished from their sight.
-—-
The lonely child stormed off in a huff from the scene he had just made. He felt embarrassed but he knew he couldn't have just let him touch him all of a sudden just like that.
He hated others touching him. He had so many bad experiences with older men like Gambino and Donvan that he just can't even treat the most basic forms of intimacy and something to be desired.
Over a nearby small hill where a group of people lay, one of them took notice of the boy walking in the distance and pointed him out to the others.
"Hey someone's coming!"
"Hey, that's the guy who killed Bazuso isn't it"
"What's he doing walking around here?"
"Should we off him? He was our opponent"
One of the comrades watching thought it over for a second but came to a tired conclusion'
"What does it matter if the job's already done?''
They were to just dismiss the kid all together when one of their friends with a skinny but weird looking complexion, chimed in with what he thought could be a great idea.
"What are you guys talking about?! He must be holding on to so much cash after defeating someone like Bazuso! I say we kill him and then take what he earned!"
Although before he could act, he still needed to get permission from his superior.
"Hey Griffith, mind if we get him?"
The man known as Griffith did not even spare him a glance before saying "Do as you please".
After his response, the soldier with the weird complexion gave a good laugh before advancing with his plot
"Ok guys come with me. Hey caska, wanna come with us?"
Caska gave a small laugh with obvious mocking undertones
"What's so funny?'
The woman named Caska was very doubtful of anything that her friend could do in general.
She knew of his nature to usually screw things up and could tell that this would not go well, so she told him as such
"Are you serious? You don't really think you can beat him do you?"
"You may say that but I'm the man who was supposed to kill Bazuso and become famous. In my eyes this guy took the spotlight from me and it seems like i should get a little 'compensation' don't ya think"
The woman spared no harshness for the truth to her army mate. "Then you'll die Corkus" is all she said to him.
"Ha you'll see. I'll beat him so fast, he won't even know what happened until he wakes up at the pearly gates!"
He and the men he was chatting with set off to ambush the kid who was walking all by his lonesome. They thought it would just be an easy job, off him and then collect the dough.
The job had gone well enough and he had certainly been paid more than originally planned. He wasn't complaining obviously, the amount of cash he got from that fight gave him enough money to keep himself afloat for a while. At the moment Shinji only had two worries, where he would get a nice hot meal and where he could spend the night.
He could definitely afford whatever Hotel or Inn he could find, but as for whether those places would even have space for him was a toss up. He dug into his backpack and pulled out a map of the town he was staying at. Usually Shinji was more prepared than this but lately following the commander around was more of a hassle with his last days which led him to not having a room prepared for him.
Sure there were digital maps on cell phones he could use, but he didn't have any disposable income to just buy things like that, especially a phone. With how much a phone would cost him, he would have to save up a lot in his bank account for that. Besides, with how varying a job would pay him it wouldn't be likely he could keep up with the payments and keep himself alive.
Shinji was deep in thought, when he heard the collective sounds of many different men of different ages charging at him. 'Bandits!' he thought while preparing his weapons while noting that only one of them brought guns along.
"Dan kill him, spill his blood!"
"Got it!"
Dan charged with all his might at shinji but was unprepared to deal with a combatant with as much speed as a cheetah. He was cut down very easily by his opponent with the dual knives.
As Dan charged, The boy quickly stuck one blade in his gut and the other in his right eye.
The man's body fell to meet the earth's ground.
Next was Nathan up to bat, he was the only one who brought a gun while the others wanted to get this over with and preserve ammo. The soldier raised his pistol to shoot at the child while he was recovering from the duel, but didn't see that his opponent had drawn his pistol first and shot him once in the knee which brought him to the ground. Shinji didn't waste any time at all and rammed his knife straight through his skull while he was down.
Corkus was appalled and carefully stepped away from the battle at hand. The rest of the men drew away too but only enough to where they were at a safe distance and still in the fight.
Up near the hill, Griffith's men were watching the battle.
"He killed Dan! How the hell did that pipsqueak kill Dan!"
"He got Nathan too!"
"Dammit! What is corkus doing?! Fight or get out of there! He's gonna get himself killed!"
"Griffith what do we do?!"
Caska did nothing but laugh at her friends fighting a hopeless battle. She knew they were no match for that kid. Even though she didn't even know him, she could tell just how strong he was just from watching his earlier fight.
While Caska was marveling at the stupidity and overconfidence of her comrades, Griffith had different plans for her than just being an observer.
"Caska go help them please."
The girl couldn't help but be taken aback by his request.
"But why?! It's their ignorance that got them into this mess so they should have to get out of this themselves!"
Griffith said nothing but gave her a small glance.
Caska sighed and knew what she needed to do.
"Fine! I'll go help them."
Griffith gave a chuckle as he went back to trying to sleep.
"Hey Riguel! You go next"
"What! Why Me!"
Corkus was too busy arguing with his men to notice that their target was getting impatient and walking towards them. The brat ran towards them with his weapons in hand and was about to kill his enemy when an arrow suddenly attached itself to his right arm.
"Caska? Are you backing me up?"
"Of course not you idiot! I'm here on Griffith's order. Now step back."
As the girl and the boy stared each other down, Caska readied her crossbow while Shinji pulled the arrow out of himself and began preparing his weapons as well. The two of them shouted mighty yells and raged at each other with their blades. The kid kept her on her defense with every knife swing he threw at her. The older one wasn't able to do anything but block when her helmet got knocked off.
When her helmet fell off of her head, Shinji caught sight of his enemy's face. He noticed that she was a girl but a woman fighter wasn't what surprised him. She was a pretty young woman herself but then again so was he. It didn't shock him that she was female, He had encountered many female mercenaries over the years but never one this young. The woman looked like she was still a teenager, most likely around seventeen or eighteen years of age. That was a far cry from the ones he's seen which were usually in their twenties and thirties just like the men.
The girl got back on her feet and immediately went on the offensive not even giving herself time to breathe.
"You bastard!"
Two fighters clashed with their weapons. Shinji was holding back her sword with his knives while Caska was trying to push through them with all her might. The two of them broke it off and began swinging their blades at each other. While this was going on, all the bystanders were talking with astonishment and amusement.
"Caska's being driven into a corner."
"None of us can beat caska, well except for Griffith."
Caska was back to blocking his hits when finally with one well placed hit, Caska was pushed to the ground. Shinji was about to deliver the final blow to the woman when a spear was thrown in between him and the girl. He looked to where the spear was thrown from and saw a fully armored man riding on horseback.
The kid was straight shocked to see both full armor and a decked out horse also wearing armor. In the post-second impact world a lot of things were hard to come by, especially armor and horses. A good chunk of the animal population was eradicated in the second impact and while you could see people riding in horses, most used cars and other automobiles since horses were very rare.
"Griffith!" said the brown skinned woman
'Griffith?' thought a confused child.
"Be careful, he's very strong"
Griffith faced Shinji with a stern face and asked him "Will you put up your weapons?"
The guy in question didn't move an inch but still faced him with an angry glare to show that he was still skeptical of him.
"Hmmm I see."
The man drew his rapier and blocked the oncoming attack. Shinji was confused on how fast this man could block his attack so effortlessly. Griffith quickly and gracefully stabbed at a point near the end of his chest and watched through his hawk-like helmet, as his opponent dropped to the ground.
"WOO HOO!"
"YEAH!"
"That's our Griffith!"
Griffith sheathed his sword as Caska walked up to him.
"That was amazing you beat him with one stroke!"
One of the men answered her exclamation.
"What did you expect? He's such an idiot for trying to fight Griffith in one on one combat."
"You're responsible for this Corkus, I don't want to hear another word out of your mouth."
"Sorry, don't kill me!"
They turned their faces back to the boy when they saw him staggering back up with his knives in hand.
"How can he-"
Before she could continue Griffith commanded her. "Step aside would you Caska". The man and the boy were facing each other now, one with a rageful snarl and the other with a soul piercing glare. Shinji tried to strike him down but before he could even take another step, he came crashing down.
In his unconscious dreams, Shinji was a younger child running for his life from god knows what. He was holding nothing but one of his knives and a pistol. He had no clothes on but had no time to feel embarrassed or self conscious as he knew that something was following him. The ground beneath him didn't seem to be normal dirt or grass. It looked to be crimson faces, all looked as if they were people. He looked behind him and saw a great beastly claw grabbing at him but it would miss each time.
Feeling tired in the legs, he tried to shoot at it but his gun was all out of ammo. He prepared himself to fight and stabbed the hand down with his blade and watched as the monster fizzled into red hot steamy blood and then finally, it faded into nothingness.
He stopped to gasp for air and catch his breath for a few seconds when out of the fog stood a giant horned beast that was frighteningly enough to put shinji frozen and at a loss for words. He tried to run away oh how he wanted to run away so desperately! But his body was working against his mind. The giant clenched his terrible claws and gnashed his teeth at him while foam escaped his mouth. Shinji felt his beaming red eyes staring straight at him. He saw no pupils, he saw nothing but two glowing red orbs that would be called his eyes.
The child backed up slowly as his fear was overriding his body's want to curl up and die. He glanced over to a shadowy figure that was sitting down in a chair. The shadow dissipated from the figure and it was revealed to be his uncle Gambino petting the dog in his lap with an eerie smile.
That dog. That damn dog. That fucking canine piece of shit. Gambino always loved that dog much more than he ever loved him. While he would be degraded, bossed around, hit, and even… sold and defiled, that dog would live it up and be given treats, bones, and meat.
He had never even gotten to have any of the meat whenever he would be forced to cook it. Every time he would even so much as try to eat a small chunk of beef or chicken, Gambino would strike him either on the head or on the back and tell him that he didn't deserve to eat something so good. Gambino would do anything for that dog while he was always treated like dirt. In fact, no one besides Shizu or his own mother had ever shown him love. His father was definitely out of the question after he abandoned him when his mother died.
Mother. Did he even remember her? He couldn't even remember her face other than the fact it showed him love and kindness. He didn't have any photos of her or anything to be remembered. The only thing he had from his parents was a walkman his dad left him.
"GAMBINO! Gambino help me! My weapons are no use against this monster!"
"Gambino please!"
"Don't talk nonsense now shinji, don't you remember? I am no longer alive in your world. You stabbed me in my chest that night, remember!" Gambino stood up and revealed his nakedness. The only thing he had was bandages going around the area where he killed him that night.
"I was in agony!" And then I died."
Gambino's body stepped back and was cut open just like when shinji killed him. Then blood sprayed from all over his body onto the face covered ground where tons of dead bodies and skeletons lay. One especially was his father.
"Gambino please listen I didn't mean to do it, I was just-."
The beast pinned Shinji to the ground with just one of his fur covered hands and clenched him with just a portion of his strength. The kid was screaming in agony, his body was being crushed and the beast's fur felt like spikes upon his skin.
The figure of his uncle did nothing but watch with a smile as he screamed and begged for help and forgiveness, while tears and sweat ran all over his body.
"You were the one that deserved to die that night."
Some of the dilapidated skeletons and half eaten bodies floated up from the ground like they were being reanimated before his very eyes. There was rain pouring everywhere but it wasn't water that was pouring. It was blood.
The corpses started chanting in a creepy monotone voice deprived of any mocking human-like flare to it.
"You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died."
They all chanted the same thing as more and more of them began to rise and float above him.
"You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died. You should have died."
"I'M SORRY GAMBINO! I'm sorry dad if i was a bad son! Please anybody, just somebody help me! forgive meee!"
His scream soon drifted into nothing as if nothing even existed in the first place.
Shinji was still stuck in the void but he wasn't at the same place anymore. He was just a bandaged version of himself stuck in a dark inky void of space.
'Don't touch me. Don't touch me. I SAID DON'T TOUCH ME!'
But there was no one.
No one to answer his calls for help, no one to scorn his existence, no one to love him unconditionally, not even a person to say hello and goodbye to. Shinji, just like all his life, was all alone.
A brown skinned woman appeared and lay right next to him. Both of them were naked. Even with his eyes closed he could still feel that she was there. She was giving him an annoyed face like she didn't even want to be there for him. He was used to this, no one ever wanted him.
'Who is this? A woman? Black…...eyes.'
Shinji awoke days after the run in with the hawks in a small tent at some kind of camp, he came out of his comatosed slumber feeling horrible. There were cuts all over his body, some were still open while many had been either stitched together carefully or small ones that healed up completely.
Nevertheless, he felt like shit. Shinji's entire body was experiencing such horrible pain almost like he was only being held together by bandages. He walked around in the tent a bit like a mummified ruler decaying as it moved. Almost like a zombie, he came back to life. He was in so much agony, but he tried to get over it as he stumbled towards the exit of the shelter while taking his time to get his footing right since he hadn't been mobile in days.
As the young boy walked out of the tent, he was instantly bombarded with the bright gleaming light of the sun. It was so bright it was blinding him. Once Shinji's eyes got adjusted to the day's brightness, he looked around at the things that surrounded him.
He heard the noises of comrades laughing and commencing with each other, and the harsh sounds of muffled gunfire from shooting ranges as well as the sound of arrows whistling by at the archery range. People were practicing their marksmanship with bows and crossbows however relevant they may be to the modern era.
He saw people walking around the large army camp and saw a brown womanly figure coming directly towards him after chatting with a taller figure with white skin and completely white hair. And as fast as he saw this figure coming towards him, he felt a heavy blow directly to his gut which was stronger and with more power than any strike he had ever received including from people like Gambino.
Shinji immediately fell to the ground with no air left in his body, only the sheer anger and frustration he felt towards this woman remained. He hadn't even gotten to have an actual conversation with her. The only thought going through his head was 'What the hell lady?!'.
"Good Morning! If I had it my way, you would have been left to die out there! Consider yourself lucky"
She proceeded to walk away without a second thought.
He couldn't help but glare at her with whatever rage he could muster, but as she walked away he heard a calmer and more masculine voice call out to him.
"Hey man don't let it get to you. Caska is the restless type, she always has to be rebelling against her life as a mercenary. It's probably because she really is far more skilled than any of us…. She still can't get over the fact that Griffith gave her the order to lie down with you for two whole days! I mean, you were shivering and lost so much blood after the fight that your body needed to be warmed."
Shinji looked upon the person speaking to him with such sincerity and honesty that he just hasn't seen since he was left for dead. He was a blonde young man with his hair in a small pony and with small freckles dotted around his cheeks. He gave off a sense of comfortability that made Shinji feel a little more at ease after Caska's brutal attack toward him. The Blonde gave a small chuckle and further explained to Shinji what had happened while he was unconscious.
"Griffith told her it was a woman's duty to warm a man. We knew we couldn't get you to whatever makeshift hospital was around here so we had to do it instead."
Shinji further studied what he was doing, he seemed to be sharpening some small throwing blades as he heard another male voice that sounded more classy and proper than the blond sharpening his blades.
"Did she wake you with a punch?" is what Shinji heard behind him. The man who looked like he was in his early twenties yet carried himself as if he was much older, came to have a chat with the rowdy child that they had fought and nursed back to health.
The man with the white flowing locks then looked him straight in the eyes with a calm smile before continuing. "I am Griffith, and you are?" The man gave a proper but playful remark to his words that would have prompted shinji to do the same if he was in a better mood and yet shinji proceeded. "I'm Shinji….. Shinji Ikari." The man gave a happy nod to his introduction and carefully brought up shinji's small knives of which he always used in combat.
"These are nice knives, they're small but extremely sharp and well made, as I can see. It makes perfect sense as to why you would use these with your smaller body and great speed. Although, they're a bit small for me."
Griffith handed them back to Shinji before continuing." Would you like to join me for a walk?" he asked. Shinji, feeling like there's nothing else he could do, agreed to his proposal and set out with The white haired man he just met.
Shinji felt as if he shouldn't have woken up, he felt so un-welcomed as he passed through a crowd of griffith men. Of course he had grown up around big and angry men as he was abandoned to his aunt and uncle and was forced to work with the rest of his uncles men who mostly mean people with exceptions here and there.
Shinji's mind was then brought back to Donovan, a man he didn't ever want to think about. Shinji was continuing down this mental path when his train of thought was interrupted by Griffith.
"Shinji, as you look around you obviously have met my men. We are known as the Band of The Hawk." "The Band of The Hawk?" Yes, have you ever heard of us?" The soldier didn't take long to give his answer.
"I've heard stories but i thought they were only rumors, you're the band of the hawk, the mercenary group that has slowly emerged here in France and have traveled all across Europe ever since the second impact and have fought many battles and won, yet the common man usually wouldn't find you guys so easily unless it was in battle. You're known as death on the battlefield. Shinji looked around and thought to himself, 'I didn't think that a group so strong would consist of people so young'.
Off in the distance a group of people were chatting amongst themselves. "So? What do you suppose Griffith is up to?" said a tall and skinny man with tanned skin and black hair. "He shouldn't have spared that brute's life! Even if he is young." "Well I guess that he intends to have that guy join us." said a much softer voice from a young blond boy. The man just gave him a confused "HUH?".
"We saw with our own eyes how powerful he is! I'm pretty sure he'll be a great addition to our growing army!" the younger boy said excitedly.
Suddenly, the man with displeasure in both his body and his voice, knocked the crossbow the young boy was holding out of his palms with a hard kick and gave him a loud retort.
"NEVER! Don't be an idiot rickert! That kid cut sent Dan and Nathan to their graves! I can't move on and pretend it didn't happen!" the outraged soldier looked over to his friend for confirmation "isn't that right, pippin?" The Large muscular brown skinned man did nothing but stare at the boy in question.
Over a mountain there was silence with the exception of a hawk screeching in the air. "Quite a view isn't it shinji!". Shinji wasn't having any of his laid back attitude after he got knocked out by him. "Tell me why! You could have stabbed me through the heart at any time, so why didn't you?! It could have been quick and easy, why didn't you kill me?"
The angry child was so confused with the whole situation that he couldn't hold in the question any longer. The next words that the French man would say shook him straight to the core.
"Because i Want you to join me Shinji"
"...WHAT?"
