A/N: I was planning on calling this chapter "Young Hearts" back when I first started writing Snakebitten, but I've decided against it. (Because other people have used "Young Hearts" as chapter and/or story titles and I didn't want to come across as copying them.)

Disclaimer: I don't own Cobra Kai or anything from third parties that I might reference.

First Date

Jason woke up slowly before waking up all at once.

His date with Aisha was tomorrow and he felt nervous about it. Even though he knew that everything would probably go well. Plus, he had been on plenty of dates in the past and those had all gone well. So, why would his date with Aisha be any different?

Jason went to go and take a shower.

After about twenty to thirty minutes, Jason got out of the shower and dried himself before putting on a Bolt Thrower t-shirt, boxer shorts, black jeans, a belt and black socks.

He took his wallet, phone and keys with him when he went downstairs.

Jason made breakfast, which consisted of bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages and pancakes.

He sat down and started eating.

While he ate, he thought about where he could take Aisha for their first date.

He wondered if it would be a good idea to ask Sensei.

.

There weren't any new students in Cobra Kai, but nobody had decided to quit over Christmas.

Which meant that training had gone relatively smoothly.

Everybody got in a square, or more accurately a rectangle, because they were going to be doing full on combat in the form of sparring.

Miguel stood in the middle of the square, or rectangle, holding a red flag in one hand and a white flag in the other hand.

Sensei had given Miguel the flags so he could keep score during the different sparring bouts.

"Who wants to go first?" Sensei asks.

Hawk steps forward. "I want to go first. And I want to challenge Kreese."

"Okay then. Hawk, Kreese, you're up!" Sensei yells.

Jason steps forward until he's standing in front of Hawk.

Hawk and Jason face Sensei before facing each other and bowing.

They each get into a fighting stance.

Sensei gives the signal for them to start fighting.

Hawk throws a series of punches that Jason blocks.

Jason manages to catch the last of Hawk's punches before twisting him around and kicking him in the stomach.

Hawk doubles over before dropping to the ground.

Miguel raises the red flag. "Point!"

"Good job! Bow, and go again! The first person who gets to three points wins!" Sensei exclaims.

Jason nods. "So, it's a full match?"

"It looks that way." Hawk answers.

Jason and Hawk get into a fighting stance before they start to square up again.

This time, Jason strikes first. He aims a front kick at Hawk's stomach which Hawk manages to block.

Hawk throws some hasty punches that Jason blocks or evades outright.

Jason does a wheel kick which Hawk dodges.

Hawk and Jason start to circle around each other.

Jason starts throwing punches and Hawk dodges them, apart from a punch that catches Hawk in the face.

Hawk shrugs off the punch and goes back to throwing punches and kicks.

Jason blocks all of Hawk's punches and kicks before ducking down and trying to sweep Hawk's legs out from under him.

Hawk manages to get out of the way before standing back up.

Jason hits Hawk with a spinning kick that catches him in the face.

Miguel raises the red flag again. "Point!"

"Kreese two, Hawk nothing! Ready, fight!" Sensei exclaims.

Hawk and Jason both get into a fighting stance again.

This time, it's Jason who goes on the offensive.

Hawk dodges Jason's punches and kicks before catching him with a kick to the face that knocks him to the ground.

Miguel raises the white flag this time. "Point!"

"Kreese two, Hawk one! Ready, fight!" Sensei shouts.

Jason rises to his feet and cracks his neck. "That was pretty unexpected."

"Thanks. I wasn't just going to make it easy for you." Hawk grins.

Jason nods. "Great."

They throw punches and kicks at each other.

Neither of them wants to lose but Jason eventually manages to sweep Hawk's legs, bringing him to the ground.

Miguel raises the red flag. "Point!"

"Kreese wins, 3 – 1!" Sensei exclaims.

Jason helps Hawk back up to his feet and they bow to each other before walking back to where they were standing in the square.

They watch as different sparring matches take place.

Class eventually ends after the sparring matches are done, but there is something that Jason wants to ask Sensei so he walks over to Sensei's office.

.

Jason knocks on the door of Sensei's office.

"I think we're past the point of needing to knock, Kreese. Just come in." Sensei's voice could be heard from the other side of the door.

Jason opens the door and walks into Sensei's office.

There is a Coors Banquet on Sensei's desk that looks like it had been opened and partially drunk.

He sits on a chair and pulls it forward slightly. "So, I'm going on a date with Aisha tomorrow and I have no idea where I should take her."

"That's easy. You should take her to where I took all my babes back in the day." Sensei finishes his Coors Banquet and grabs another one from the fridge near his desk.

Jason looks confused. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You think I should take her to Golf 'N' Stuff? Seriously?"

"How do you know about Golf 'N' Stuff?" Sensei looks at Jason with a quizzical expression on his face.

Jason shrugs. "I think everybody in the Valley knows about Golf 'N' Stuff."

"Exactly. Which is why you should take her to Golf 'N' Stuff. Unless you have a better suggestion." Sensei says.

Jason thinks about it. "Maybe I could take her rollerblading. Or bowling. But I don't know if either of those would be "first date" material."

"You want to go on another date with her, don't you?" Sensei opens the Coors Banquet on his desk and takes a drink.

Jason nods. "I do. Which is why I'm following your advice."

"Good luck with your date, Kreese." Sensei leans back in his chair.

Jason pushes his chair back and stands up. "Thanks for the advice, Sensei."

"Don't mention it." Sensei takes another drink of his Coors Banquet.

Jason walks out of Sensei's office and partially closes the door behind him.

All he had to worry about now was getting ready for his date with Aisha.

.

Jason was so excited for his date with Aisha that he had found it difficult to get to sleep.

He woke up and stretched himself out before getting out of bed.

Jason got what he was going to wear for his date with Aisha out and put those clothes onto the bed for when he needed to get changed. The clothes he'd picked out for his date with Aisha were the red leather jacket that Sensei had gotten him, a Black Sabbath t-shirt, nice jeans and a belt with a skull buckle.

He went to go and take a shower.

Jason was counting down the hours until his date with Aisha.

The time couldn't move by fast enough.

Nervousness had been replaced by anticipation.

.

Jason had finished eating breakfast and was watching TV when his cell phone rang.

He checked his phone to see who was calling him, and was happy to see that it was Aisha.

Jason turns off the TV.

"Hey, Jason!" Aisha sounds really happy.

Jason smiles. "Hey, Aisha. You looking forward to our date?"

"Of course! There's just something that I wanted to say." Aisha replies.

Jason's eyebrows furrow. "Which is?"

"My parents don't mind if you pick me up early for our date." Aisha answers.

Jason nods. "So, what time would you want me to pick you up at? Seeing as I was supposed to pick you up at around 7."

"Around 6. If that's okay with you, I mean." Aisha says.

Jason thinks about it. "6 is fine. We'll have more time to spend together, as well."

"Yeah. I guess I'll see you at training, then?" Aisha asks.

Jason chuckles slightly. "Of course."

"I'm really looking forward to our date." Aisha says.

Jason agrees. "Same here."

"So, I guess that's it?" Aisha wonders.

Jason nods. "Probably."

Aisha and Jason both hang up at the same time.

Jason turns the TV back on.

He kicks back and relaxes until he eventually turns the TV off and goes to get his wallet and keys.

Jason decides to go for a little drive before getting lunch.

.

There weren't any new students in the dojo, so training went pretty much the same as it did yesterday.

Warmups and drills were followed by sparring matches.

Miguel was the best fighter out of all the students, but Jason had the most experience of being fights and was more than able to hold his own in a fight.

Different students held the red and white flags as the sparring matches went on.

Until Aisha was holding the red and white flags.

"Diaz! Kreese!" Sensei exclaims.

Jason and Miguel walk over to the centre of the mat.

They face each other and bow before getting into a fighting stance.

Sensei gives the signal and they start sparring.

Jason and Miguel were Sensei's first students and they had been sparring together since they joined Cobra Kai.

Miguel blocked a punch from Jason before aiming a kick at his ribs.

Jason blocks the kick and goes for a roundhouse kick.

Miguel manages to catch Jason's leg mid-kick and blocks it.

Jason goes back into a fighting stance.

They circle around each other looking for an opening.

Miguel makes the first move, throwing a punch that Jason manages to block.

Jason punches Miguel in the solar plexus, but Miguel isn't gasping for breath like he was the first time they sparred.

The only thing the punch does is stagger Miguel slightly.

Miguel rebalances himself and aims a punch at Jason's gut that Jason doesn't block. The punch also sends him backwards a little bit, throwing him off balance.

Aisha raises the red flag. "Point!"

"Good job! Bow and go again! The first person who gets to three points wins!" Sensei exclaims.

Jason and Miguel square up again.

This time, Miguel makes the first move.

He hits Jason with an almost perfect right hook that Jason manages to block.

Jason throws a series of punches that Miguel blocks.

He then aims a kick at Miguel's stomach before following up with a leg sweep that knocks Miguel to the mat.

Miguel gets back on his feet.

Aisha raises the white flag this time. "Point!"

"Diaz, one! Kreese, one! Ready…" Sensei gives the signal.

Jason and Miguel both get into a fighting stance.

Miguel blocks a punch from Jason and counters it.

Jason tries a wheel kick, but Miguel blocks it.

Miguel throws a punch that catches Jason in the face.

Aisha holds up the red flag again. "Point!"

"Diaz, two! Kreese, one! Let's go!" Sensei exclaims.

Jason and Miguel each get into a fighting stance again.

Miguel throws punches at Jason, but Jason manages to block them and counter.

Jason aims a front kick at Miguel's stomach, but Miguel manages to block the kick with a knee.

Miguel attempts a roundhouse kick only for it to be blocked.

Jason hits Miguel with a jumping kick that catches him in the face.

Aisha raises the white flag. "Point!"

"Diaz, two! Kreese, two! Ready, fight!" Sensei gives the signal.

Jason and Miguel throw punches and kicks at each other without stopping or giving way.

Miguel goes to sweep Jason's leg but Jason moves out of the way.

Jason goes to sweep Miguel's leg but Miguel moves out of the way.

Miguel blocks another punch from Jason and uses his momentum to throw him to the ground before stamping his foot down near to Jason's head.

Aisha raises the red flag for the third time. "Point!"

"Nice work, Diaz! 3 – 2 winner! Bow. Shake hands. Good job, both of you!" Sensei looks impressed.

Miguel helps Jason up and they go and stand on the line. They bow and shake hands.

Miguel lets out a deep breath. "Wow. That was pretty close."

"Yeah. We're pretty evenly matched. Which is probably why we haven't been sparring as much now that there's some more students in Cobra Kai." Jason says.

There are one or two more sparring matches after that before training ends.

Those sparring matches don't go as long as Jason and Miguel's sparring match did.

.

Jason had enough time to drive home and change into the clothes he'll be wearing for his date with Aisha.

Aisha had texted him her address, so he'd know where exactly to go.

He took his wallet, phone and keys with him before locking up his house and getting into his Dodge Viper.

Jason started up his car and checked that he had enough gas before driving off.

.

Jason parked across from Aisha's house and stepped out of his car.

He walked up to Aisha's house and rang the doorbell.

There was a brief pause before the door opened.

"Hi, Jason!" Aisha opened the door.

Jason smiled. "Hey. You ready for our date?"

"Of course!" Aisha closes the door behind her.

Jason walks Aisha to the Dodge Viper and opens the passenger door to let her in.

He watches as she sits down before getting into the car and starting the engine.

Jason looks at Aisha and smiles. "So, let's go. I guess."

They drive around until they find somewhere to eat.

Jason parks outside of a diner and gets out of the car.

He opens the door for Aisha and watches as she gets out.

Jason walks ahead of her and holds the door into the diner open for her.

They walk into the diner and sit down at an empty table.

A waitress walked over and put menus in front of them.

"So, where are you taking me on our date?" Aisha asks.

Jason flicks through a menu before answering. "Golf 'n' Stuff. Sensei kind of suggested it to me, though."

"No way! Sam and I went there a lot when we were little. And not so little." Aisha smiles.

Jason smiles back. "So, you're good at mini golf and stuff like that? Right?"

"Yep. You might be better than me at karate but I could probably beat you at mini golf." Aisha answers.

Jason laughed. "I guess I kind of walked into that one. So, what's your family like? Seeing as I didn't get to meet your parents. Although, that might be a good thing. Not that I wouldn't want to meet your parents or anything."

"Well, my dad's a former football player and my mom's kind of a consultant or whatever. And I'm an only child. My parents are pretty cool as far as parents go." Aisha says.

Jason grins. "I'm an only child, too. And, as for my family, well… It's complicated."

"We've got time. I mean, we haven't even decided what we're going to eat. So, we should probably do that." Aisha suggests.

Jason agrees. "I could really go for something to eat, actually."

They each order food when a waitress comes around to ask them if they're ready to order.

Jason and Aisha both order cheeseburgers with fries and sodas.

They keep talking until their food comes.

.

Jason pays for their meal and they drive around for a little bit before pulling into Golf 'n' Stuff.

"And we're here. Time to have some fun." Aisha looks happy.

Jason nods. "That's the plan."

"I hope you don't mind losing." Aisha teases.

Jason smiles. "I don't."

They pay for their arcade passes and golf clubs.

Aisha is able to outplay Jason in mini golf, but Jason doesn't mind. In fact, Jason encourages her to play well.

They have a lot of fun before going to the arcade.

"So, what should we do first?" Aisha asks.

Jason thinks about it. "Ski ball sounds pretty good."

They both hit the jackpot on ski ball and high five.

"Want to try the basketball shooter?" Aisha suggests.

Jason smiles. "Sure. But I have to warn you, I'm pretty good at basketball too."

"We'll just have to see about that." Aisha smiles back.

Jason makes a few baskets almost effortlessly.

He makes another shot and watches as it goes in. "So, what do you think?"

"Pretty good. But I could probably do better." Aisha replies.

She demonstrates by effortlessly making a few baskets.

They both take shots before the buzzer sounds.

Aisha gives Jason a hug and a kiss on the cheek before they go and try some of the other games around the arcade.

They eventually get enough tickets to get a pretty good prize.

Jason looks at the prizes. "You could either pick a bunch of erasers, or a few stuffed animals. Or some slinkies. And there's probably some other good prizes here too."

"How about that one?" Aisha points to a teddy bear.

The woman behind the register hands Jason the teddy bear.

Jason looks at the teddy bear before looking back at Aisha.

He smiles again. "So, what do you want to do now?"

"Maybe we could get our picture taken. There's a photo booth just over there." Aisha answers.

Jason nods. "Let's go."

They get into the photo booth and sit down.

The first picture is of them both smiling, Jason has an arm around Aisha in the second picture, they make funny faces in the third picture and then Aisha leans in and kisses Jason. Jason kisses Aisha back and they embrace the moment before separating.

They look at each other and smile.

"So, you want to look at the photos?" Aisha cuts through the silence.

Jason nods. "Sure."

They walk out of the photo booth and take two copies of the photos.

"I think this one is my favourite." Aisha looks at the photo that was taken of them mid kiss.

Jason thinks about it. "Fair enough. It's my favourite, too."

"I'm glad that we agree on something." Aisha says.

Jason laughs. "I think I'm pretty agreeable. Don't you?"

"Of course." Aisha gives Jason a gentle shove.

Jason watches as Aisha gets the teddy bear and walks back over to him.

They walk outside and Jason has an arm wrapped around her shoulders.

Jason takes some time to appreciate the moment. "So, what do you want to do now?"

"I don't know. This date has gone really great and I don't really want it to end. But I know that it will have to end." Aisha answers.

Jason thinks about it. "Maybe I can drive you back to your place?"

They walk back to his car and Jason opens the door on the passenger side.

Aisha gets into the car and closes the door.

Jason gets in the driver's seat and starts the car.

The drive back to Aisha's house passes by almost in a blur.

Jason has the radio turned up before they eventually arrive outside of Aisha's house.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow." Aisha gets out of the car, taking her copy of the photos of them and the teddy bear.

Jason smiles. "I'll see you tomorrow. Good night!"

He watches as Aisha walks up to her house and rings the doorbell.

Aisha's mom opens the door and waves at Jason.

Jason waves back before driving off.

He knew that he would be going on more dates with Aisha.
