April 15, 2621I am finally taking the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Scheafer. After so many interviews with her husband and her father-in-law it feels weird to get her side of the story on the events that have happened over her twenty-one years of being alive. Like Kj has explained, years are not long measures of time, although much can happen within that . I meet Jennifer in her office, with her sister Bethany Weyland. She is also present for the interview, on behalf of my request, as shecan provide more information. For now I'm here to investigate the ongoings that occurred during Jennifer's development from wherewe last left off, and how Kj's actions affectedthe progress in research with the Xenomorph species that was going on at the time. We exchange some polite banter before the interview begins.
"I'm sorry for not coming to you sooner Mrs. Schaefer. Your husband's story is very interesting and I try to get him when he isn't busy, also the audio recorders take some time to edit."
(Jenny) I understand, I'm not upset about it at all. It is mostly his story after all.
"Thank-you for also bringing your sister to the interview as well. I greatly appreciate it."
(Beth) It's no problem, I actually wanted to come. So... thank you really.
(Jenny) Anyway what topic would you like for us to discuss today?
" I was wondering if you could talk to me about the progress Weyland Yutani made with the Xenomorph species. Your husband didn't touch up on any of that during our interviews."
(Jenny) Truth be told I really don't have a clue as to what progress we made. Don't get me wrong I know we made some progress with them, but I wasn't an integral part of any of those experiments. I knew there were secretive experiments going on around the compound here, but still I only knew what Daddy told me. Come to think of it though he did lie to me alot, so really there isn't much I do know.
"What little do you know?"
(Jenny) Well after my father's death, I was informed on the location of all the other more secretive research facilities on the planet, and the experiments that went in them. Xenomorph behavioral testing, hybridization, learinging, and combat effectivity. All of that wasn'treally all that bad, but when I looked deeper into them ewh!
She shudders at the thought.
They were using human test subjects to see the attain results. They litteraly took people working around some of the colonies ,Innocent people! and just tossed them in these hives they housed the xenos in underneath the facilities. I'll have you know there actually is a law that allows us to use humans for such experiments, but that's only for people with high criminal records, people convicted of murder, rape, molestation, things like that, and yes Weyland Yutani did send plenty of it's security task force into those colonies for law enforcement purposes, very little crime was actually being detained in the colonies. Yes there was crime going on but most of the corporate task force guys who were supposed to be acting as our law enforcement was corrupt. Very corrupt! if I must say! The perps they should have nabbed were actually bribbing them into letting em off and blaming someone else for their misdeeds, and those poor people ended up being the ones to be tossed in those experimental hives. And the worst part about it was that Dad and the entire corporate shaboo itself knew what was going on, and they never did any thing about it, beyond sending combat androids, which he did manage to legalize for more public usage just to make everyone feel safer, but that just made it so more crime wasn't happening around the streets, where everyone could be watched. Places that weren't so public like the sewers, or appartment areas, weren't actively patrolled which allowed more of this to happen. Daddy knew about this to, but so long as it kept the colonists free from suspicion, and continued to bust research on the xenomorphs, what did he care?
"Was there anything else?"
(Beth) Yes, we also did Ovamorph (Xenomorph egg) specimen trades with other interstellar terraformation corporations. We looked into some of those trades, and from what we discovered those corporations were doing the same things we were, others were doing worse. Weyland made a law concerning this making it illegal, of course that was just for everyone else underneath him to abbid by. He made the rules, so he is logically the one who's allowed to break and change them. I know I'm an artificial person (a term used by certain people who find the definition "android" to be very offensive) but even I was shaken when I found out about this. And the releases, Ohh god! the releases!
"What are releases?"
Jenny sighs discomforted by the thought.
(Jenny) Good Lord... Dad and some of the higher ups thought that some of our tests would show better results if we turned some of the xenomorph subjects loose on some of the lesser populated colonies. We'd sabotage the colonies' communications, disable most of their security measures, and withdraw most of our task force protecting those colonies from those areas, keeping just enough of them there to get an accurate test. And we thought throwing colonists to xenos was horrible, our releases were much much worse. That's like throwing a hungry pack of wolves into a plain full of unprotected sheep. God those were horrible! It didn't help that there were pictures taken to give us visuals of the carnage that played out.
"How was Weyland able to keep all of this so secretive?"
(Beth) Same way he always did. By covering up his mess, and lying about it.
They both sigh.
(Jenny) You know it's one thing to find out that your father isn't the man you thought he was, and that he's done some things bad enough for you to wish you were still ignorant about them, but finding out he's a mass murderer by the hundreds of millions, that's... th-that's just... that's just so fked up it makes you want to just want to pull the trigger on yourself. Even after I found out about daddy's true self I never would have thought he was even that evil of a human being, turns out I was wrong. Now I'm not sure if he really ever was a human.
"I'm sorry." I appologize sincerely.
(Jenny) You're fine.
(Beth) Seriously why should you be sorry.
The two say as they try to laugh the subject off with unsuccessful results.
"What about what went on around here."
(Beth) Things actually weren't nearly as bad here as they were in all the other facilites. Given the fact this is where his primary operating setup was, with all of the marines, and the security task forces and such, it was practically his home. And with the threat of all the outbreaks he didn't want his home to be the place of a major outbreak. He only kept the specimens he liked the most here. Mostly a queen, and a lot of hybrids, like they were all his trophy warriors.
(Jenny) You can believe Kjon was excited to have those disposed of.
The sisters laugh at the thought.
"I beg your pardon ladies."
(Jenny) Sorry it's just, Kjon was litteraly so excited at the time when we were getting rid of all of Dad's "Shadows" He just begged me to let him see it was all done himself. Obviously since he's my husband , and the best person I know who can clear out bug nests I let him, it's just he was so adorable when he did it, I mean he hated my dad and his xenos so much he just wanted it so bad.
They continue laughing.
(Jenny) Sorry just one of those moments.
She then opens a bottle of pills from her desk drawer, and takes them.
(Jenny) Almost forgot my A.D.D. medication. Can't work properly without it, heh.
"What was it that you did do here during your time as Research Director?"
(Jenny) Well that's a long story, not that I don't want to go into detail, I just don't want to waste you're time, on uselessness.
"It's perfectly alright Mrs Schaefer."
(Jenny) Okay. So I didn't actually become Research Director until I was 17 years old, and I began working in Dad's labs when I was 14, after I finished my mastery education.Dad put me to work on Xenology, and Biochemistry. We were working on making a chemical weapon that could paralyze the xenomorphs nervous system, without causing any effects to humans, allowing us to control outbreaks more easily.
"Agent-X."
(Jenny) Exactly.
"I remember the articles in the news, talking about it. They gave alot of detail and credibility to you in the article, as a matter of fact I think they talked more about you than your work itself."
(Jenny) That's Charles Bishop Weyland for you. I swear, credibility was that man's middle name. He made me a super star after I came up with that breakthrough.
"I remember the article stating that you found the secret to the agent by combining medication produced from a zwallive plant with pheromone chemicals inside a perkuide bush, which put together with certain chemical compounds from the Xenomorphs royal jelly allowed you to produce the agent."
(Jenny) Yep, that's how I did it, Of course I do owe some credit to Beth here who was also working with me at the time. I'm seriously sorry you got none of the credit sis, seriously.
(Beth) It doesn't matter to me. We were more concerned on doing something for the good of humanity itself.
(Jenny) That we did Sis. That we did. And seriously thank you so much for your help.
(Beth) It's what I'm here for Jenny. Seriously without you I wouldn't even exist.
"So how did you feel when all of the news reports had you name on their papers?"
(Jenny) I'll be honest I was shy. I didn't care if I was given any credit for making Agent-X, like Beth said we did it just to help, that's all we wanted, we didn't care if daddy took credit for our achievement, but like I said, credibility was his middle name, and he doused me in it. It was like I'd found the cure for cancer and every STD know to man. That alone shot me up to becoming Research Director of the entire facility itself, outside of the secret areas you know. And the publicity from all the other colonies, on and off world.
She groans loudly for dramatic emphasis.
(Jenny) Let's just say I became very popular overnight. Of course Daddy being the man he was, didn't use Agent-X for the purposes we'd made them for, and just used it to help recollect his assets after they escaped. Still he was grateful for the help and I was paid very well for it.
"Why didn't Miss Beth receive any of the credit?"
(Beth) Let's just say that Dad didn't care for me nearly as much as he did Jenny. He only really saw Jennifer as his true daughter. I was just another android. I'll admit I was alittle jealous, but daddy was the only person to blame, but it still didn't matter to me.
(Jenny) Honestly the thought of our helping out humanity against the xenomorph threat, and the smile we put on Daddy's face was enough payment for the both of us.
"What did the colonists think when they saw you were a hybrid?"
(Jenny) They didn't give a single hoot about it. Heck I'm pretty sure they didn't even notice I was part Xenomorph. I guess they just overlooked that because I mostly look and act human so they don't bother to care if I am part xeno. That and they made it extremely clear I was Weyland's daughter. I just wish the same could be said for those who aren't as human.
"You're referring to Kj of course."
(Jenny) Yep, I'll admit I was also among many who were very unsympathetic to them, and given their behavior towards us, I feel I'm not alone in that regard. But I've learned never to judge a book by it's cover.
"I assume you were also very anti to the cause of the colonial marines, given Weyland's credibility towards them."
(Both) Yep!
(Jenny) I try not to be very anti and stereotypical, but even I'm not immune to such things. I liked to think that at the I wasn't so prejudicial, and that there were some marines out there that were good, even though they all were, but every time I saw a person in uniform I would always think about what of people could sleep at night knowing they weren't there to protect someone from the monsters they were suppose to be protecting us from. I didn't even consider them real people just by what I'd heard about them. Of course that also changed after I met Kjon.
(Beth) I was pretty much the same way.
(Jenny) I still feel guilty about the crap we put our armed forces through. Kjon says it's no big deal, mostly because it was Weyland Yutani's fault, but I'm still a part of Weyland Yutani so I still feel like I put Kjon through the same hell Daddy put him through since he (Kjon) was born. Of course this is all a story for another time.
I schedule another appointment with Jenny before thanking them both for their time.
Sorry for the delay I'm still busy with the move, and I'm still trying to work out all the details for the fanfic itself. I'm also alittle preoccupied with some other projects, but I'm trying my best to make time for everything. I hope you guy's like the story and I'll do my best to post the next chapter as soon as possible.
