At Gothels hideout.
Arkyn could hear Gothel's footsteps outside his room she was speaking to herself angrily, he didn't understand what set her off so badly it was just a bow. She had sent him to his room as punishment but he was so confused still. Then he began to feel worried what if she didn't let him explore no more?! A little tear then escaped his eyes, but he quickly wiped it away as he remembered his medal and quickly went to grab it, taking it out of his little box he had it in under the floor boards. It was the only thing that made him feel brave and good.
"At least I have you" he whispered to it. He examined it a little closer when he realized some of the markings on his crest was the same as the bow he just had. He felt even more confused.
"What if..." he began. "No..." he said trying to convince himself out of what he was thinking but the idea came back into his mind and he spoke to himself.
"But...he can't be. My...dad" tears filled up his eyes at the thought of the Viking in the forest being his dad.
He looked so brave and had a dragon with him. All the story he was able to read said Viking hated dragons, but he had one sitting next to him...maybe he wasn't his father, there was no way.
"But maybe he knows my dad! And that would make me...part Viking"
a smile grew on his face and for the first time in forever he felt like everything made sense, the reason why his mom got mad at the bow, the way she never wanted to talk about his father and his crest with his name on it. It had to be true. And he needed to find that Viking hoping he could tell him who his dad is or maybe where his crest was from.
"I need to know but without mother knowing or she won't let me leave again"
And with that he packed a little bag with some few apples and water as well as his crest in and got his cloak waiting till his mother went to sleep, a few hours passed but when he heard the front door shut and locked. Arkyn peaked out to see and the place was empty she must have gone to get something. But this was his opportunity to escape, he quickly went to get his things and sneaked out the window that he had learned to open when his mother would leave locking all the doors. He threw his little bag out first before he climbed out as he did his pants got caught on a lose wire cutting his leg a bit and making him stubble down.
"Ouch!" Tears we're beginning to build up but he wiped him away there was no time to be hurt and cry about it he had to get going so he get up and picked up his small bag checking if everything was there and heading into the woods.
Meanwhile, Gothel was heading to the local village, it was night fall and a bit of rain began to pour down but that didn't stop her she needed to know if Hiccup was actually here. How could they let him in?! The king would have never allowed it.
"Great, this barbaric Viking just wont stop ! And his stubborn child isn't making it any easier. Oh if he didn't have my blood through his veins I would have made him disappear and no take it upon myself to look after him" she said to herself, she got to the village and put the good of her cloak on. She walked for a few minutes before she heard something that made her tense up. It was two women that spoke between them.
"Did you hear? Apparently there's lost dragons here the king allowed the Vikings to come and retrieve them. But not only that the Scottish came too! Those dragons much be important..."
Gothel felt light headed all of a sudden and almost lost her balance.
"Are you alright miss??" A merchant asked. Gothel ignore it and ran towards the castle.
Meanwhile Arkyn was walking down the path where he last saw the Viking and his dragon, past the river over a few fallen trees and there was nothing.
"I know this is the spot but where could they have gone?" Suddenly he saw the dragons foot steps and a smile grew on his face. And quickly followed them.
Gothel had finally got to the castle but she remained in the forest so no one would spot her. And to her surprise the women were right there they were scots and Vikings loading their horses and carriages but then in the mist of all that her heart sank and she could feel herself turn pale white as her fear crept up to embrace her in a bubble of darkness. It was him. And not just him his dragon was there aswell dark as the knight while his eyes glowed green with out a light shining on them. They both frightened her in sunlight but in the dark they looked terrifying. And now more than ever, she had never in her life seen him in this state. Hiccup was always smiling along side Merida but had a serious face when leading his village but this look this was different. This was the look every book and legend told about the ruthless, unmerciful Vikings who had no sympathy for others. And it scared Gothel to the bone. She had pushed him to this and she was going to see the outcome.
Hiccup held on to his chief bow before putting it on his back "I'll find you" he whispered to himself.
"Chief you ready?" A fellow Viking asked.
He put the bow on his back and lit up his sword, fire consuming the end on the sword as he climbed on to toothless.
This sent shivers down Gothels spine she couldn't move seeing what was in front of her not a husband, not a chief. A hunter, ready to destroy anything that gets in his way.
"Fergus...Lead the way" Hiccup said in the most dangerous tone.
Fergus smiled and yells to the everyone.
"COME ON !!! LETS FINISH THIS!! YAH!!"
He said as they charged forward their horses running as fact as they can as hiccup took to the sky sending a big wave of dust into the air from the strength of toothless's wings.
Gothel finally came out of her shock
"Arkyn" she whispered under her breath and quickly realized Arkyn was alone and panic and fear intwined inside her making a mixture of desperation, she ran and ran as fast as she could back to him she could hear the heart being in her ears. The lack of air coming into her lungs she couldn't breathe all she could think of was Arkyn.
And that was all that was in Hiccups mind as-well, anger had built up inside hiccup adrenaline kept him moving he could feel him getting a step closer to his son but as much joy as it was it also infuriated him to know he would finally see who look him and have no mercy on them. Flying with toothless always calmed him but this time he was only focus on one thing and so was toothless. He felt how his dragon became a tracker so fast once they knew they were close and he wasn't going to stop either.
As Gothel and Hiccup raced to their destinations Arkyn found the Castle of Carona
"Wow! A king and queen must live here cool! Mother always said they were real but I never believed it" as he admired the castle his eyes suddenly caught sight of a ship that had the same carvings as his crest. He was in shock.
"That must be his boat " He said whispering to himself.
He checked if it was clear to go near it, he didn't want anyone catching him.
And once he got there he climbed a rope that was hanging on the side and hoped in, the boat was BIG and it scared him a little to see all the weapons and gear they had. As he kept walking he came across a cloak with fur, he felt it with his hand and suddenly he felt...calm and everything seems so familiar. He didn't think much of it and continued until he got to the middle that had a door that lead down to a cabin under the deck, where it seemed they had their supplies, he was scared about how dark it was especially at this time a night so he took a little lantern that was right next to the entrance, he took a deep breathe and walked down
"I can't be scared now I need to find my dad"
he kept reminding himself.
He quickly found a spot to hide in and sat there, setting his bag aside and making himself comfortable.
"Well I guess this is goodbye mother..." he said as he laid down wrapping himself in his cloak as he began to fade away into his sleep.
