Arkyn woke up to the sun beaming down at him.

"Wha" he said as he tried to open his eyes but the sun was blinding him.

He used his cloak to shade himself until he realized where he was making him jump, sitting up in his spot. It was beautiful! His surroundings of the forest they were way less scary than at night.

"Wow, I wonder where this place is? It's better than Carona"

See Arkyn loved his island but this was something different. He always enjoyed nature and loved being outside it made him feel...free. But Gothel always kept him inside so he enjoyed every second he got.

"Okay we should start on your journey" he said as he jumped up to continue walking.

"I hope nothing come out" he said as he clutched on to his little bag.

"No, we can be sacred we have to be brave I got to find that dragon." he told himself and with that note he walked off deep into the forest.

Meanwhile at the Castle of Dunbroch.

Merida was waking up, and to her surprise Hiccup was laying beside her still asleep. A big smile grew on her face. She didn't remember the last time she woke up next to her beloved like this, except the days before Arkyn had been taken. And after that she would either go to bed alone because he was off somewhere else or she would wake up to an empty bed because Hiccup would waste no time and got up early. She brushed a few strands away from his face to admire him more and gave him a small kiss on his head. He didn't move and continued to sleep. Merida was so happy he was finally able to fall asleep for so long, he needed it more than anyone. They both did. She suddenly heard loud commotion down stairs like yelling, the sound carried all the way up to their room. She jumped a little and gasped as Hiccup moved a little but then continued to sleep.

She gave a sigh of relief and then she scowled at the door, who ever was making that noise was going to get a piece of her mind. She quietly got out of bed trying not to wake hiccup up then quickly closed the window to prevent any sound from coming threw and coved it Incase the sun woke him up. She then quickly changed and went out the door as she quietly closed it.

She then ran down stairs to find her father, the lords and some Vikings arguing. Her mother was just watching then with a serious face.

"Mum what's goin on?!" She asked her mom in confusion.

"Ah Merida yer awake! Yer father and the rest of them are arguing 'bout the ships." It seems some of them weren't tied good and floated away."

"That's it?!" Merida exclaimed.

"I believe so" her mother replied in a nonchalant tone.

Merida was furious and got in the middle of the chaos and yelled.

"SHUT IT!!!"

Everyone suddenly stoped talking.

"Merida?" He father questioned.

"My HUSBAND is sleepin' upstairs, dew yeu know how LOUD you are bein'?! He hasn't slept for DAYS!! While all of yeu are enjoyin' your mornin' yellin' your lungs out he is FINALLY gettin' the rest he NEEDS."

Everyone looked ashamed after she said that because she was right Hiccup was always out there no matter what time.

"And so help me if any of YEU wake him up, I will do eveythin' in my power to end yeu, am I underSTOOD?!" Merida said furiously.

"Yes my Queen!" Everyone echoed in the room.

And with that Merida storms off towards the kitchen. Everyone stood there nervous as she left. Once she had entered the kitchen she took a deep breathe and calmed herself down. Elenor had followed her in there as spoke behind her.

"Oh dear that was incredible!"

Merida turned around in surprise.

"Mum!"

"That is exactly the Queen I was preparing you to be, maybe a little less threatening but we'll work on that"

Merida gave her a soft smile.

"Thanks mum, I learned from the best" she said giving her a big toothy smile.

Elenor gave her a smile back. When Maudie suddenly interrupted them.

"Yer majesty is there somethin' you needed?"

"Ah yes i was comin' to ask yeu if it was possible for me to take my husband and I's breakfast ? We'll be eatin' in our room. I don't want him doin' any work right now..."

Merida said sheepishly.

"Yes I agree, the new King shouldn't be around any work as well today, I will let the guards know too." Elenor chimes in.

Merida smiled big as her mother hurried to give the order.

Maudie nodded at both of them and quickly went to get the breakfast.

Merida didn't have to wait too long for Maudie, she brought over the tray that had two plates with delicious food along with silver wear and their drinks with a pastry on the side

"I can carry it for yeu if yeu want yer madjesty"

"No, no that's alright I can dew it, thank yeu Maudie!" Merida said taking the tray and walking up to her room.

She struggled a bit to open the door but managed to. She opened the door quietly and to her relief hiccup was still asleep.

She went to put the tray on a small chest that was in front of her bed where Maudie always put her food.

"Mer.." hiccup mumbled into the pillow.

His hand reached out to the side where Merida slept to see where she was.

Merida walked over to him and gently went to sit on her side grabbing hiccups hand as he pulled her into his arms softly.

"Yeah?" Merida replies in a whisper.

Hiccup still had his eyes closed but still spoke.

"I love you."

Merida smiled at the phase.

"I love you more" she replied giving him another kiss on his forehead.

Making his open her eyes to see her as a sleepy smile appears on his face.

"I need to get going" he says as he tries to get up slowly.

"Uh no, yer stayin' here" Merida says as she pushes him gently back down.

Hiccup was puzzled.

"Mer I can't-"

"I brought yeu breakfast !" She said cutting him off as she walked over to the tray of food, trying to ignore what he wanted to say.

Hiccup sat up still confused, he kept staring at her with an eyebrow raised as Merida brought over his tray of food.

She sat again in her side and put the tray in his lap. His gaze didn't leave her.

Until she finally made eye contact with him. He then leans in to kiss her. Feeling her soft lips against his as he pulls her face closer to his with his hands. He could feel the need for him and she felt the need for her. And with that Merida pulled away and whispers.

"Stay...okay."

"Okay" hiccup whispers back.

After hiccup ate and got changed he went outside while Merida did a few Queen lessons with her mother.

"TOOTHLESS!!" He yelled and the night fury came as he hear.

Hiccup was so happy to see him and he could tell toothless was also running towards him as he knocks him down and gives him slobbery licks.

"Agh toothless I'm happy to see you too bud but we gotta work on that slobber!" Hiccup said laughing.

Toothless finally stoped as hiccup wiped off the slobber. When a guard came over.

"My King! We have orders from the former Queen Elenor and Current Queen Merida, that's yeu can not leave the premises"

Toothless tilted his head to the side in confusion. Hiccup simply nodded in sadness and petted his dragon.

"Yeah...I know, I know"

The guard gave a small bow and went back to his post. Toothless looked at hiccup confused then a sad look once he saw his sad look as-well.

Hiccup tried to fake a smile as he looked at him and said.

"We're going to take a break today pal. No more looking till tomorrow. Got it?"

Toothless liked to sleep but he was like hiccup he didn't want to stop looking and hiccup could see it in his face and gave him a hug as a tear fell from his eyes. He wiped it before toothless saw and put on a happy face again.

"Come on lets go get you washed up and some food!"

And with that toothless brightened up.

After hiccups little time with toothless, they both head into the castle. They start to hear some people arguing in the thrown room and get curious.

"Come on bud let's go check it out" hiccup tells toothless in a soft tone.

They walk in to see Merida yelling at lord Dingwall while her father is arguing with her.

"I already TOLD YOU ! We don't need them!! AGHH!! Are you listenin'?!?" Merida yelled.

" But my Queen you don't know what we can do with this"

"Lass you don't understand!"

Everyone suddenly stopped as hiccup and toothless came in. Hiccup had a puzzled scowl look on his face as he looked at all of them both Dunbroch and Digwall's clans.

"What's...going...on?" Hiccup said scanning the room.

"Hiccup!" Merida said as she ran to him quickly

she put her hands on his chest trying to push him out but he wouldn't budge only a little bit but it was nothing.

"It's nothing come on, let's go outside !" She said trying to convince him giving him a sheepish smile.

He scowled even more and this time he was angry. He said nothing a moved to the side escaping Meridas pushing, she lost some balance but toothless caught her by surprised. She petted him as a thank you then quickly got back up and turned to look over at hiccup. Now she was angry to as he walked over to King fergus and lord dingwall. Fergus stood up right and looked at hiccup as though he was proud but lord dingwall looked nervous.

"HICCUP!!" Merida yelled at him with all her anger.

But that didn't stop him even though he felt the fiery red head behind him. He stop right in front of King Fergus and lord dingwall and asked.

"What's going on" with his scowl still on his face.

They both looked over at Merida who if it was possible had flames coming out of her head.

"Don't look at her look at ME!" He continued.

Fergus spoke up.

"Our allies want to lend a hand for the search, along with the three lords."

Dingwall found the courage to speak up as well.

"100 boats my king, with a thousand men willing to lay down their differences with yer kind sir for the sake of yer son and the future king of Scotland"

Hiccups scowl softened as he heard the last sentence and looked away, thinking. 'The future King of Scotland'. Now he knew why Merida didn't want him there. She felt that he would feel hurt that his son would give up his birth right as Chief of the hairy Hooligan tribe in exchange for the help they needed. But it didn't matter at this point and he would never be selfish to argue about which side his son should choose he was equal, no matter what.

" Make the deal." Hiccup finally said in a serious tone. And walked away with a serious face.

Merida gasped at his answer. She was shocked, how could he agree to that.

Hiccup was about walk past her when she grabbed his arm. He avoided making eye contact with her. He was mad at the fact that she wanted to keep this from him.

She saw the expression on his face and knew she should just let him go, so she let go of her grip with a sad look on her face letting her hand slide down his arm to meet his hand. She brushed her hand with his waiting for acceptance.

It hurt hiccup cause he knew that and he knew she would never do things to hurt him but instead prevent from hurting him.

He then moved his hand to grab hers.

He pulls her hand up to place a kiss on it then let go to wrap his arm around her as she automatically wraps her arms around him. And walk away as toothless follows.

The walk to the outside garden, Merida speaks up first.

"I wanted him to be Chief...like you..free"

Hiccup kissed Meridas forehead as a wave of emotion passed over him. Hearing her say that made his heart flutter. He remembers when she hated him for being a Viking and now she wanted her son to be one, why? Because she loved him. She loved that Arkyn was a mini him but had her nose and blue Scottish eyes.

"He is free Merida. He's got me and you."

Merida looked up at him surprised. Hiccup laughed at her expression as she realized what he was saying.

"Look..." he began as he sat on a bench near by pulling Merida to him as she sat on one of his lap wrapping one arm around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I think Arkyn gets to choose what he wants to be, cause we didn't. Do you agree?"

"Yes! Of course, he can even choose his own path, I'm not turnin' into me mum" she said.

Hiccup laughed and Merida smiled, she loved his laugh and to think seconds ago he was mad makes her great full that he understands her.

"I sure hope you don't, she still scares me a little" he teased.

"Really? So I don't scared yeu??" She said raised an eyebrow.

He gave her a big toothy smile.

"Oh no you mi lady are, terrifying!" He said sarcastically.

She tried not to smile but she couldn't help it and nuzzled her face into his shoulder shying away hugging him with both arms. Hiccup smiled to himself. He didn't realize he still had the same effect on her to shy away. He remembered when he was like that but since he grew up and matured it was if the roles had reversed. Merida never took any boy serious or ever made her feel the way hiccup did, she always thought how lucky she was to have him and how handsome, funny and sweet he was. He gave her butterflies even without trying.

"Merida..." Hiccup finally said.

"Hhm?" She said lifting her head up to see him.

"I want him to be King, I just think it suits him better and your mother can educate him...he's always going to be a Viking, but that thrown is meant for him."

Meridas eyes began to water but she didn't let a tear escape.

"You really want that for him?"

"I do, and I'm not changing my mind"

And once hiccup said the last word Merida crashes her lips on to his. The kiss is gentle but with so much emotion. She cups his face with her hands as he pulls her closer to him. Merida finally pulls away after a minute goes by and stares into hiccups eyes.

"I told you to take the day off, not go and make deals" she teased him.

He smirked at her and said, "I am taking the day off. I'm spending time with my wife right now, who I'm going to take on a ride" he teased

Hiccup stood up picking up Merida bridal style.

"Whoa!" She said startled and still surprised how hiccup makes it looks so easy to pick her up.

"Now where to Milady ?"

Merida laughed at his wittiness.

"Hiccup haha put me down! Stop bein' so silly!"

"Oh toothless ! Where are you bud?!" He calls out,

And as soon as he stoped calling toothless came down from above.

"Now milady, your carriage awaits ?"

He puts Merida on toothless and then hops on behind her.

Merida giggles to herself and grabs hiccups arms to wrap around her as he reached to grab on to the harness on toothless, she plants a kiss on the side of his face. He smiled at the gesture. And with that they fly off into the sky.
