Arkyn kept walking in search for the "dragon" he'd been been searching for, what feels like forever. When in reality it was 2 and a half days. He was very resourceful, there were some apple trees around which helped him keep from being hungry and he always kept a good distance from little stream not far from where he was, but he missed a warm meal and his bed.

"Why is it so hard to find this dragon, isn't he like big or something" he said to himself.

He stopped in his tracks and sighed looking around. He could feel himself wanting to cry out of frustration but he quickly wiped the tears away with his sleeve.

And sat in a little stump near him. It was getting dark and his hope was fleeting.

"I...I can't." He said as he finally let the tears fall. After a small cry he sniffles and reaches into his bag for his little crest and holds it out.

"I can't daddy...I'm hungry and tired, and scared." He softly cried again as he swiped the crest with the palm of his hand, until he realized something. The dragon was wrapped around a sword...Arkyn wiped his eyes trying to see better.

"W-what?" He asked puzzled.

It was the same sword that was on every flag in the village...he lifted his head up to look at his surroundings. Was he...

"Home?" He asked himself.

He was more confused then ever. Who was he? And why did he have the amulet...

He stood up and knew he had to keep looking and went on, more determined than ever.

Meanwhile on the other side of dunbroch Merida was on a stroll with Angus. The sun was finally setting and it got dark fast but she continued.

She had such a sad look on her face that Angus knew something was bothering her so he made a little halt to get her head out of the clouds.

"Oh what? Sorry Angus, I just...I'm sorry" she said as she petted him and climbed off.

"Here let's get yeu somethin' to eat and then we'll head home"

She pulled out some apples which made Angus neigh with joy. Merida laughed and set them down on the ground for him then sat down next to the apples.

"I'm sorry boy I just miss him...I forgot to even introduce to him, he would have loved yeu! If he's a mommas boy, I'd take him out every day with you."

And with that said Merida began to feel the tears in her eyes but blinked them away.

"Don't worry that day will come" she said with a smile and got up to hop on and head back to the castle.

"Now come on let-" but before she could finish her sentence she heard a child's voice which made her freeze in place.

"Hello? Mommy! Daddy? Where are you?!"

And without hesitation Merida jumped up on Angus and ran to the sound. She could hear her heart pounding in her ears from the adrenaline and the cold air on her face as Angus galloped as fast as he could. Once they were close, merida jumped off Angus before he could even stop, which made her trip and rip a part of her dress and hurt her knee, but that didn't matter right now she needed to get to that child...her child.

"Mommy!" They yelled again.

"Where are yeu?!" Merida yelled.

"Huh? I'm right here!" The child yelled back.

"Follow the sound of ma voice!" She yelled.

"I'm trying!" They replied. "I'm scared!"

She saw the little lantern in the distance and ran to it.

"Don't worry im-" when she finally got there she was speechless.

It was a little boy with blue eyes and...gold blonde locks that were brushed the the side. He was as surprised as Merida, he was probably also hoping to see someone else. Merida's heart broke, she didn't know it was possible but it was. What was she expecting, for it to be that easy? And what was worse is the little boy that stood before her looked to be almost the exact age as Arkyn would be. And she tried so hard not to break down and cry. Cause even if she couldn't help her little one, she could help this little one. She brushed a tear that was about to fall before she spoke.

"Wee one what are yeu doin' alone out here? It dangerous." She asked kneeling in front of him. When she felt the cut from her knee and winced at the pain.

"Yer hurt." He said in a worried tone and huged a teddy bear that Merida hadn't noticed he had.

"I'm okay don't worry. Now where's yer mum ?"

" I lost her..I was followin' a rabbit...and then it got dark." He said shyly

Merida smiled on how sweet he spoke.

"Okay well do yeu know we're ye live?"

"Yes it in thee village." She said with a smile.

"Okay let's go on ma horse and take ye back home, I " Merida said as she got up trying to not show how bad her leg was hurting and as she turned around she call Angus and he came running to her.

"Ready?." She asked the little boy.

"Uh..my daddy said never to leave with strangers..." He said shying away and kinda scared of the huge horse in front of him.

Merida smiled and went to grab something from her bag, it was a little crown. Along with her crest.

"I'm actually thee queen...see"

she showed him the crest and then took a deep breathe before she showed him the small crown.

"And this is ma son's crown. The prince. I take it every where I go...incase I find him..." she gulped trying to get rid of the knot in her throat.

The little boy looked at her surprised and then touched the crown with his little fingers.

" is he lost too?"

"I, he is"

"Oh...Don't worry, you'll find him...ye found me!" He said with a big smile.

Merida smiled while a tear fell down her cheek.

"Don't cry, ma mommy says we look better when we smile"

She let out a small chuckle as she wiped her eyes.

"Yer right. And Yer mommy must be worried, come on" she said as she put her hand out for him to take it and he did.

Hours passed by.

Hiccup was at the castle going out of his mind.

"Are you sure?!" He yelled at a guard.

"I, your highness"

"What about Angus ?! Did he ever show up?!"

"No were positive she has him"

Hiccup ran his hand through his hair in frustration until a guard came to get him.

"My king! It's the queen"

And with that hiccup went running outside as fast as he could. Once he was outside the castle doors he scaned the area and saw her at Angus stall, she was struggling to get off while two guards helped her off and she argued.

"I'm fine, I'm fine!" She protested. She hated special treatment.

Hiccup quickly went over and by that time she was off safely.

"Merida!"

The guards stepped aside as he approached.

"Thank you, to both of you, I'll take it from here"

"Yes yer highness" both guards said as they left.

"Merida what happened?! Where were you?" Hiccup asked worried.

"I'm fine Hic, I just fell gettin' off Angus."

"Fine?! Merida your dress is torn and your bleeding."

"I'm. FINE." She said, then took a step forward with a limp, trying hard not to wince in pain.

Hiccup rolled his eyes.

"Merida stop. Come here" He said quickly picking her up bridal style before she could protest.

"Hic-"

"NO." He said in a stern voice not looking at her.

She was thrown off by his response but also found it kinda attractive at the same time. He wasn't always strict like this, he always acomidated to what she wanted but there were days where she didn't fight him because he was right. As much as she hated special treatment, she never hated it from him and he knew that. And with that thought she wrapped her arms around his neck, adjusting her self more comfortably, hugging him closer to her as she rested her chin on his shoulder.

They walked in and Maudie quickly went to them.

"Can you bring some towels, ointment and some bandages up to our room please Maudie." Hiccup asked politely

"Right away yer highness" she said before quickly leaving to do so.

Fergus and Eleanor quickly showed up after the guards reported to them the shape Merida came in.

"Oh dear, is she okay?!" Elenor asked hiccup.

He could feel Merida rolling her eyes as she buried her head into his neck.

"What happened lass?!" Fergus also asked.

"She'll be alright just a hurt knee, she fell off Angus, I just don't want her walking on it." Hiccup reassured them.

"I knew you shouldn't be going on that horse!" Elernor replied angirly.

Fergus laughed. "Calm down dear, the lass is a big girl she'll be fine, now come on hiccups got this."

Elenor still had a worried look on her face as he pulled her away but she didn't protest and Hiccup then took Merida up to their room and laid her down on their bed.

"I'll draw you a bath." Hiccup told her.

She glared up at him and said. "I told ye I'm fine"

"So you've said" He said not listening.

He went to the bathroom and got the bath ready. Then once he walked back into the room Merida was up, trying to hop on one leg to get to her dresser. Hiccup looked at her with an annoyed scowl. She was about to fall backwards when he caught her and picked her up bridal style again. She was thrown off, not realizing she was right behind her. Then quickly glared at him and he gave her a look back with an eyebrow raised.

When they suddenly heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!" Hiccup yelled.

"Yer highness here's the bandages, towel and ointment ye asked" Maudie said.

"Ah yes thank you. Um Maudie, now that your here could you also help the queen get ready for a bath and assist her with whatever she needs. I need to make a quick trip somewhere." Hiccup said.

And once Hiccup said those last words Merida's face relaxed and turned into a worried look.

"I yer highness" Maudie replied.

Hiccup gave her a smile and carried Merida to the bathroom. And sat her down in a chair.

"Are ye coming back?" She asked softly.

"Yeah... I just need to talk to Eret about something. He came in this afternoon."

She relaxed once he said that. He promised her he wasn't going to do night shifts anymore, so she was worried he would break that promise again. But she had forgotten that they weren't going to go searching again till the rest of their allies came. She just missed him but she also missed her son so it was a hard choice.

"Okay, come back quickly" she whispered.

Hiccup let out a small laugh.

"What happened with 'I'm fine' " He teased

She gave him a small push and he laughed.

"Okay Maudie she's ready for you!" He yelled.

Then went to give Merida a kiss before he left.

"He's so sweet." Maudie said to Merida once Hiccup was out of the room.

"He is Maudie, he is." Merida replied as she thought about her Hiccup.

Well that was sad xD but I hope you all are enjoying this!! sorry i didnt post last week i was really busy D: but i hope to post another chapter soon!
