"Look, I know it's asking a lot, especially since you two were kind of trapped in this gem for a while, but Vol will need all the support he can get when he finds out we're gone. We need to go, but I want you guys to tell him that we loved him and that he was the best thing that ever happened to us and that he meant everything to us...It's just that...we're running out of time.. We're going to give up our forms so that he can exist permanently, we can't watch over him anymore and we need someone who can keep him in check while we're gone….Can you at least do that for us?"

"Our presence within this world isn't needed any longer. The clock is ticking, so please, don't mourn for us and cherish the times you had with us instead. And remember, every time you see Volastor from now on, you'll see us loving him. Even if we're not there physically, we'll forever be a part of him..."

"Farewell everyone...Take care of him for us, both of you. We'll be counting on you."

Vox's screen reverted back to normal after showing the clips of the other version of Alastor and Vox's departing words before they faded away from existence.

Charlie, Vaggie and Angel were still staring at him skeptically. Even with the physical evidence, it was clear they found Vox's story a bit...out there. He had explained the other parts but Vaggie was still skeptical and wanted physical proof of the whole incident with Lucifer, to which Vox showed their final moments on screen to get his point across.

"Do you three see why I want to go back now? Do you finally believe me or do I have to show you again why I need to return to the other timeline?"

Angel tensed,"If I didn't see them fade away for myself, I would probably still think you're crazy. But now, I think it's starting to make sense in a fucked up way. Still, I ain't over the possibility you made this shit up while you were drugged out of your mind during the past six months…"

Vox scoffed,"I wish I could make this shit up. I fucking saw my other self die in front of me and believe me, that shit wasn't staged. Everything you saw was real and it was from my POV."

Charlie nodded,"Yeah, I don't think Vox is making this up. If it was, he wouldn't have come all the way here for a made up story. Besides, it does explain why Alastor was gone for so long, he isn't even in the same timeline as us anymore."

"Still, the part where you had God transport you here is pretty absurd," Vaggie growled,"I just can't believe God would willingly send you back here after just one prayer."

"Why not?"

"Because of who you are! You're an overlord of Hell and yet God chooses to help you before he helps those who are in worse situations than you. What the hell did he see that made you stand out above everyone else?"

"Hell if I know," Vox retorted,"That was the other God's call, not mine. I don't even know why he listened to me in the first place but I'm not complaining…"

Vaggie's eye twitched,"Still, why the hell did he save you before he saved anyone else? There are tons of demons who pray for his help yet you're the one he chooses to save first? Why are you more important than everyone else?"

Vox didn't have an answer to another question.

Charlie put a hand on Vaggie's shoulder,"Hey, Vag. No need to get so hostile. It's not like Vox knew his prayer would actually work or anything. Besides, I'm certain there's a reason for this…"

"Like?"

"Well..I don't really know but if I remember correctly, God usually tests people to see if they're being genuine in their faith in the scripture. Maybe sending Vox back home was his way of testing if Vox would revert back to his old ways upon returning, like some test of character to see how genuine Vox was. That prayer was a cry for help and I think God wanted to see where Vox would land upon being returned home. Judging by our current conversation, I'd say that he's at least in the process of changing."

"How can you be so sure?"

"I mean, would he even be here if he hadn't changed? Think about it, If Vox felt like it, he could've just gone back to doing what he usually did with his friends. Nobody would've questioned him and he could've gone about his life as it were but something must've changed internally that made him thin otherwise. Think about it, Vaggie, do you really think God would've sent Vox back if he had remained the same inside? I don't know God personally but I doubt he's that naive, he can probably tell when people are being genuine with their prayers and Vox must've had enough genuine repentance to get his wish granted."

Angel paused,"Hey...that actually makes sense. Still not sure what the Big Guy was thinking but maybe there's some type of plan involved. That's usually how his shtick works, selecting someone among the herd and having them be the chosen one, have them start shit that eventually ends with some type of happy ending once the bloodshed passes over. Or at least, something along those lines if my memory is serving me right."

"Still, fucking Vox of all people is the chosen one? Out of every demon, Vox is the one he chooses? There are so many people who would be better candidates and yet he chooses the TV bastard over everyone else!? We don't even know what God wants Vox to do in particular! He can't possibly only want Vox to go back to the other has to be something else at play here."

"That's probably for us to figure out," The Princess piped up,"If I had to guess what Vox has to do, it probably has to do with making up for all the wrongs he's committed, especially in this realm."

"So basically redemption?" Vaggie asked wearily,"Is that what God wants Vox to do?"

"Maybe?" Charlie shrugged,"It's the best explanation I got. It's the only one that makes a lick of sense with all the information piled together. I know it sounds hard to believe, but I'm not just saying this cuz I want my idea to work. Whatever Vox said on that plane must've been convincing enough that God thought he'd genuinely change and his actions prove that something shifted inside. Whether it works is up in the air though."

"That's under assumption that 'redemption' is possible," Vox retorted,"I have no plans on being your test subject, Charlie, so don't get any ideas. I'm only here because I need to get back in time to make it up to Vol, not to become another patient to your hopeless cause."

"Still, even if you don't believe in it, you have to acknowledge that this is technically a step towards self betterment. Maybe if you complete that journey, you'll be able to reunite with that fusion person and make up with him when you get there…"

Vox narrowed his eyes. He truthfully didn't care/believe in Charlie's whole redemption were already in Hell and the notion of being able to ascend after all the sins you committed in your life was just downright absurd.

About the only political standard anyone(literally) gave a damn about was the notion that everyone down here was irredeemable. Most owned it and took pride in this to varying degrees.

Even if for some reason he took Charlie's word that he was God's new supposed 'chosen one', he doubted that he'd be able to achieve the redemption part. He wasn't quite certain what God wanted him to do to be exact, but he figured Charlie's theory of him making things right was what he was here for. Where it would lead was up to how he played his cards and what outer forces said on the matter….

Before anything else could be said, everyone heard the sound of multiple footsteps coming forward. The next thing anyone knew, Husk and Niffty had entered the lobby, the latter wearing a lacy scarlet night-gown with a nightcap over her head while Husk had a blanket over his body, covering his wings.

"Ugh...It's so late…" Niffty whined.

"What the fuck is going on over here?" Husk asked,"I swear you people are nuts, it's the middle of the night why are you awake and-Holy shit! What the hell is that bastard doing here!?" Husk's tone became hostile upon locking eyes with Vox, taking an alert stance on the off-chance Vox became confrontational.

"Husk, you're awake!"

"No shit!" Husk growled,"Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Charlie! I totally didn't know that! Now answer the question, why did you put the TV Asshole into the hotel? Do you realize how dangerous he is?"

Charlie put her hands up,"Woah woah, hang on, Husk. I understand your distrust, but Vox isn't here to harm anyone. In fact, he's here because he wants help."

"You've got to be shitting me! Do you seriously believe that? Do you realize you could be putting us all in danger by letting him in?"

Vox scoffed,"Believe me, kitty, if I wanted to hurt anyone here, this wouldn't be a conversation…"

"Shut up! Like I'm going to believe you…"

"He's telling the truth," Angel piped up,"Vox ain't here to cause problems. He's actually here because he wants us to help him travel through time…"

"What?" Niffty asked,"That's just crazy. What has he been telling you guys because this is sounding really weird...And where's Alastor? Wasn't he with him? What have you done to him!? You better not have hurt him cuz you won't like what happens next…" Niffty had a knife in her hands, giving Vox a menacing look.

"Ugh, who gave this kid a knife? Someone get her parents before I get in trouble for child abuse if she doesn't' quit swinging that thing around like a toy…"

"I'm twenty two!"

"Sure you are," Vox replied flatly before reaching to take the knife away from Niffty, only for Husk to smack his hand away and hiss,

The bartender bared his fangs, claws raised in Vox's face,"Back off asshole! I won't hesitate clawing your eyes out if you touch her! If you know what's good for you, you'd take your ass and leave because I'll crack that bloody screen of yours to bits if you continue pressing."

Vox stared at him before laughing.

"What the fuck is so funny asshole?"

"Oh nothing, I just remembered something that I hadn't noticed until now. With the attitude if you have, I can see how it got your limbs amputated the last I saw you…"

Husk gave him a disturbed look,"What!? What the hell are you talking about? My limbs are fine! Are you tripping?"

"No, the other Husk I saw had several of his limbs cut off. When we found him, I thought he was fucking dead but somehow, that little maid managed to prolong his life expectancy by cutting off some of his appendages."

"Other Husk? What the hell are you going on about? Are you trying to mess with my mind because it ain't gonna work!"

"Ha! I wish I was making this shit up. The last I saw you, you were fucking dying in a hospital bed and was hooked up to life support. Apparently your other self got shot with multiple holy bullets and his future was looking bleak. I honestly suggested killing him to put him out of his misery with the spear that rat girl had but everyone got mad when I suggested that. It got sentimental and shit that if I didn't know any better, I'd assume Al was gonna cry."

"Cry?" Husk replied in disbelief,"No fucking way. Al would never cry over anything, let alone me…"

"Well you're fucking wrong. I saw it with my own two eyes. If it weren't for the fact that others were watching, he probably would've broken down in tears right there. He didn't even know your other self yet he still felt attached enough to mourn over his condition. It was only when that angler suggested using cybernetics to save your counterpart's life that any hope was revived and even then, I doubted it was gonna work…"

"So did it work?" Niffty asked, her voice sounding urgent.

Vox shrugged,"I wouldn't know. I fucking left before I could see the end results but even if he did make it, he'd be a cyborg for the rest of his life. If he's still alive, he's probably fucking miserable, especially since the Alastor he knows is fucking dead."

"Wait, how did this happen?" Niffty asked.

Vox then explained everything that Husk and Niffty missed, including the part about Volastor and everything that had happened back in the other timeline. To say the least, they were definitely surprised.

"So that means Alastor is stuck in a completely different timestream...No wonder he couldn't have contacted us, he wasn't even in the same world."

"At least he's alive," Niffty heaved, sighing in relief,"I was so worried...I didn't know what had happened...None of us did. But still, do you think it's possible to bring Alastor back to this timeline?"

"We're working on that," Charlie said,"We're going to have to try and find a way to get Al back, but at the same time, we need to help Vox get back to the other timeline so that he can...make up with that Volastor person."

"Do you even know how to do that?" Husk asked,"Time Travel ain't exactly normal around these parts. How do you plan on getting anyone anywhere at this point?"

"I don't know," Charlie mumbled,"But we do know it's possible, so we have to try…"

"Still," Husk started, looking back at Vox,"What about him?"

"What about him?" Vaggie inquired.

"What are we supposed to do with him now?Is he just supposed to stay here?"

"Well…yeah?" Charlie shrugged,"We can't exactly throw Vox out. He did us a huge favor and he really does need help, Husk. I know you don't fully trust him, but Vox isn't the villain in this situation. He's a benefactor and regardless of how you feel about him, he's not here to cause any harm."

"What if he puts us in danger?"

"What do you mean?"

"You realize the moment Val finds out what Vox did, he's going to try and kill him right? Vox breaking Val's contract is a blatant act of war. You don't break another person's contract willy nilly and not have consequences. Considering Vox straight up stole the contract and broke it without Valentino's consent, he's gonna be a real angry moth the moment he comes around."

"He's right, Vox's presence is going to put us all in danger," Vaggie said,"Who knows what will happen when Val finds out what he did. He'll probably target us along with his gang the moment he catches wind of what Vox pulled back at that club."

"We don't know if it'll come to that, guys…" Charlie said wearily.

"But it probably will," Angel piped up,"Let's not kid ourselves, Charlie. What Vox did was an act of war. He's declared himself as an enemy. Val will not let something like this slide and if Vox ain't careful, he could end up dead sooner or later. Vox going anywhere near the Studio would be an act of suicide. He's separated himself from the pact, there's no going back and if he does, he'll get a bullet to the face and I know Val's got holy bullets on him and he won't hesitate firing at anyone he deems a threat to his survival. It's only a matter of time before Val tries to hunt Vox down so I suggest if you want to keep the TV alive, that you let him stay here…"

Vox scoffed,"Believe me, Angel. I know what I'm getting into. I don't need to be lectured about how my safety is at risk…"

"Yeah, but you should still be careful. You're treating this situation way too lightly, especially considering the danger you're in. Traitors aren't well-liked, even in this hellhole and I know the moment Val realizes you became disloyal, he's gonna want to put a bullet through that screen of yours as an example to anyone who crosses him."

"Which is why Vox is going to be staying here," Charlie said,"Since Valentino and Velvet will likely try to target him, the only way to ensure his safety would be for him to stay at the hotel."

"I figured you'd say that," Vox mentioned,"I was going to ask if I was allowed to stay here but I suppose that won't be necessary."

"Don't worry, Vox, I would've let you stay regardless. I"m not quite sure how to help you with the time travel shenanigans and everything, but I still want to help you the best I can. You risked a lot back there and I won't let it go to waste by putting you back onto the street." She grabbed his hand and clutched it gently,"Trust me, you'll be safe here. I know you're not looking for redemption, but you're looking for help and I will help any demon who is at their lowest. I promise that this will work out. It just has to…"

"I'm not too sure about that, princess…" Vox muttered,"But, I've come too far to turn back now. I was already aware that things would get hectic soon, which is why I separated myself from Val and Vel through every means necessary before I got here. I know the moment they come around, they'll be wanting my head for what I did back there so I'm glad you're fine with me staying here…"

"Is that why you didn't bring your pet shark with you?" Angel asked.

Vox nodded,"Yeah. I knew that the moment I did any of this shit, Val would probably try and target Vark. Velvet is probably the only reason Val didn't shoot him for being a menace while I was gone. If I didn't give him to someone else, Val would've likely forced Velvet aside and held him hostage to get me to come out of hiding. I didn't want to give him away, but I didn't really have a choice…"

"Damn," Husk said,"You really went all out, huh? Can't say I blame you. Still, I'm kind of impressed you came all this way just to make it up to someone in a different timeline. Did those months trapped change you?"

Vox frowned,"You could say that...Regardless, it doesn't really matter. We should probably all head back to bed. It's rather late and I know everyone here doesn't want to be up at this time…"

"Fair," Angel muttered, rubbing his eyes,"We'll discuss shit in the morning, we'll be in a better head-space by then…"

"Sounds like a plan to me," Vaggie replied,"Come on, Hun, let's get going."

"Goodnight everyone…"

Niffty quickly scampered off, leaving Husk and Vox behind. Vox was about to go but Husk suddenly asked,"So...was what you said true earlier?"

"Hm?"

"Does he care that my other self died?"

"Yeah...Why? What did you think his reaction was going to be?"

Husk remained silent,"I...I don't know. I thought he wouldn't care, you know, since he delights in other people's suffering and shit…"

"Eh, Al seems like he gives a fuck about you so he probably wouldn't he happy seeing you die," Vox mentioned,"I'm certain once we set everything straight you'll be able to talk to him about it…"

Husk didn't say anything and Vox took that opportunity to leave. When the TV Demon's footsteps were no longer audible, Husk grabbed a drink from the fridge, staring out at the window with narrowed eyes.

He drank half of the bottle and said,"Guess you really did give a fuck about me after all this time…" The cat then grinned for the first time in months, his golden teeth glowing bright,"I fucking knew it. I'm so gonna make fun of him when he gets back for this. It'll be a riot..."

He knew it wouldn't be today nor tomorrow, but he'd wait for Alastor to be returned them. It wasn't like he was getting any older and he did have eternity. Even if the days felt slow, a small glimmer of hope that he thought had died decades prior restored itself just enough to make him think it would get better, at least for now...

He'd probably say otherwise in the morning, but for now, it was best to hold on to that small piece of hope, just to preserve the illusion and give him a sense of life until it fleeted away like all the other things did.

Thanks for 7,667 views everyone! Tell me what you think/ask questions below!

Enigmus-288: Woah, thanks! Thanks, I'm glad you like the chapter cuz I'm being honest, that chapter was a massive pain to write. And yeah, Vox deserves some praise for his balls of steel considering what he did lol.

Guest: Well he just did in this chapter so that solves the issue.

Mitsuru6: He wants to own up to Vol for being a dick to him earlier and Vel and Val of this timeline we're holding him back. They did in this chapter but there wasn't really time for it earlier. Vox was relaying the story and then he just randomly said,"I need y'all help me time travel," probably halted any questions about Alastor just by the sheer shock of it all.
