Meanwhile...while the last chapter occurred..
Vox hissed in agony as Val slammed him to the sides of several buildings. If there was a time where Vox would've wished he had wings when he fell down in hell, this would've definitely been it.
'Starting to wish I didn't forget that bastard had wings…' He snarled to himself, now trying to free himself from Val's grip. At this rate, Val would just beat him by slamming him into objects and unless he found a way to bring Value to the ground, he'd wind up double-dead faster than you could count to five.
The TV Demon's mind raced, trying to find a solution that would bring Val down. He couldn't win in an aerial battle against Val, not when he didn't have any wings to keep himself afloat. Still, the only way he was getting Val out of the skies was to fight on common-ground…
Vox had an idea. It was a stupid one, but he was desperate to get Val off of him. So he did something he knew he would regret when he landed…
He grabbed Val's wrists, digging his claws into his hands before using his electricity powers to shock Val. Val let out a pained screech, immediately dropping Vox.
As expected, Vox didn't exactly land on a soft surface, crashing to the floor of a nearby power-grid. The TV Demon cried out in pain when he landed on his left leg, shattering a good portion of bones in that part of his body.
"F-FUCK!" He cursed,"My fucking leg broke my fall and it hurts like a bitch!"
"What did you think was going to happen?" Val asked, landing ten feet away from him,"I knew you were reckless, Vox, but I didn't think you'd be so desperate as to literally electrocute me while I'm flying in mid-air just to get out of my grip. And you have the nerve to act surprised when your stupid plan backfires on you."
Vox scowled, not wanting to admit that Val was right about his idea,"S-Shut the fuck up, Val…"
"I don't remember taking orders for you, babe. Though I gotta admit, as stupid as your idea to free yourself was, seeing like this does bring me amusement. Even the Big Bad Overlord has a weakness. To think you were the strongest out of all of us, makes seeing you like this even more satisfying."
Vox clenched his teeth. If he didn't do something now, Val would shoot him with holy bullets once he was done gloating…
'My Demon Form…' Vox thought,'If I transform like Val did, I'll be able to overpower him…' But then he remembered one crucial flaw with his plan.
While Vox was stronger than Val in his Demonic Form, he had an issue of maintaining it. Vox relied on Hell's electricity to keep him up and running and it cost a significant amount of electricity to use his Demon Form. If he used too much energy at once in an attempt to maintain his transformation, he'd burn out and would have to be recharged manually to be revived again.
And in a situation like this, burning out was a death sentence. All Val would have to do is out-last Vox in order to get the W.
Vox then turned his head, only now just realizing he had landed in a power grid.'That's it…' He then smirked at Val,"You must think you've won, huh, Val? If so, then you've forgotten about one tiny little thing…" Vox shoved his hands into the ground, grabbing a pair of cords that powered the Pride Sector itself and drawing its power to him, now growing in size and becoming twisted in appearance. "You're not the only one who can transform. Normally I can't maintain this form for too long, but with this power-grid, I believe that it'll grant me more than enough time to put your sorry ass to rest. Now tell me…"
Vox grabbed Val and looked him in the eyes, his auto-tune becoming nightmarish in nature, now heavily distorted,"Do you bleed?"
Without giving Val a chance to answer his question, Vox threw Valentino as far as he could into the nearest buildings, his enhanced strength made him so strong that he sent Val through several buildings, causing them to topple over. Vox pursued him shortly after, not giving Val the chance to breath as he began slamming him against the ground over and over again, sometimes electrocuting him in his crazed frenzy, now driven to beat Val into a bloody pulp.
At this point, it was hardly a fight. To imply it was a fight meant that Val stood a chance against Vox in his enhanced state. It was more or less a curb-stomp battle, with Vox mercilessly beating Val up with his powers.
Valentino was in a panic. Rarely had the moth demon felt fear in his life, especially after his death. The only demons Val feared were those far stronger than him and even then, they usually didn't mind Val too much if he put his head down.
But this was different. Never before had Val dealt with a demon using their Demon Form on him, especially someone stronger than him. The TV Demon had him at a disadvantage.'Fuck! I gotta get outta here!'
Val attempted to flee, trying to use his wings to take to the skies. However, as he was about to leave, Vox suddenly used his cords to grab Val's wings and drag him back to the ground before he could get away.
"Trying to flee, Val? Did you really think you could pull the same trick on me twice? Fool me once, shame on you." The cords on Val's wings began pulling more and more, Val wincing in pain.``Fool me twice, shame on me…" The TV Demon then tore Val's wings off completely, the moth screeching in agony as blood poured from his back,"But never will you fool me thrice…"
"AARRRGH!" Val crumbled to the ground, his back bleeding from his missing wings. He could barely move his body with how badly Vox had injured him.
He then looked at Vox as the TV Demon got closer and closer. He panicked and shouted,"Stop! Don't come any closer! Please don't hurt me!"
Vox cocked his head to the side at this plea, the distortion in his voice becoming more and more evident,"Oh so now you decide to beg for mercy? When you're broken and on the floor, you now decide to beg for your life? How many, Val?"
Valentino stared at him, clearly bewildered by this question,"How many what?"
"How many times have the people around you said the same thing? For you to stop hurting them? Personally, I lost count of how many times I told you to stop hurting me. Maybe after this, I should ask Angel. But he'd probably tell me the same thing. You've done it so frequently that it's all a blur. The pain you're feeling is just a fraction of what you've inflicted on others since you've got down here. Have you ever thought of that, Val? Have you ever thought about how I felt? About how everyone else you treated like garbage felt? Have you!?"
Val scoffed,"What the hell would I do? The feelings of others have never concerned me unless I could profit off of it."
Vox sighed,"You know, I was going to say I was surprised by your reaction, but I'm not. Not by a long-shot. I was hoping that in a time like this you'd learn some fucking humility and show something resembling regret, but apparently even after having your ass beat out of you, you're physically incapable of giving a damn about others. Certainly explains the treatment I've faced over the years if this is how you react at being confronted about your wrongdoings."
After a moment, he then smirked in a twisted way, his eye twitching,"And now that I think about it, I just realize how much of a fucking idiot I've been. For years I've dealt with your attitude, had you treated me like a being less than dirt and got bitched at for minor reasons. Do you want to know why I fucking put up with your bullshit Val? Do you wanna know why? Well I'll tell you WHY, its because I fucking loved you! You were the only man I ever fucking loved in this godforsaken pit! You were the only person who actually gave me a chance when we met, because every other woman was put off by my head and refused to date me for long periods of time. Until you came along, I believed I was going to be alone for the rest of my afterlife."
Vox sounded...somewhat upset by this, as if women not finding him as appealing hurt him to a degree. Especially since his more conventional flat-screen(which was considered more attractive) wasn't a thing at that point. A man walking around with the head of a TV from the fifties likely didn't look all that attractive and while not ugly, it did look fairly strange for most demons.
"But when you came into my life, that all changed..or so I thought," Vox replied, his tone becoming bitter,"At first, I didn't know I was falling for you. But when I did, I tried to deny my attraction to you because of the time period I hailed from. As time passed, however, I noticed how open you were about your sexuality. Men, women, whoever else, you didn't care. You flaunted about it so freely and I figured that if you were attracted to whoever you liked, I figured I should follow after. Your actions indirectly coaxed me out of the lowest and made me more comfortable with myself. With that in mind, when you proposed a relationship, I was more than happy to oblige, figuring I could give this relationship a shot. It started out good and for a moment, I felt genuinely happy, but like always, this happiness never lasted as your true nature became more and more apparent. I tried to ignore, excuse it even, believing it was a phase of some kind and that things would revert back to the good old days. I tried so fucking HARD to make our relationship work. I did everything, I gave you gifts, I let you have sex with me constantly, I even let you spend MY money on shit you didn't fucking need! I did everything you could possibly want yet it was never enough. Just couldn't be satisfied, could you, Val?" Vox asked, his tone becoming darker with every word, as if he were resisting the urge to scream in rage.
"I knew I should've given up on you. A lot of people have told me to drop you years ago, but I never had the heart to do it until now. I was too blinded by love to fully acknowledge how toxic you were for me. Had it not been for what happened while I was gone, I probably would've ran back in your arms without a second thought, repeating this stupid cycle for the rest of time."
"So what changed then? I still don't get why the hell you did all of this. What caused you to change so badly that made you destroy everything we worked for?"
"I already told you, Val. I did this because you were standing in the way of my end-goal of reuniting with the person I made many mistakes with…"
"Oh really? Because all I saw when you did what you did was making you an obvious target. I don't know what the fuck you thought you were doing, but if you seriously thought destroying my empire would redeem you, than you're more delusional than that dumb princess."
Vox hissed, using his cords from afar to hit Val, sending him further back,"Don't you dare speak of Charlie like that you fucking bastard! You already had your men burn her Hotel to ashes and you have the nerve to insult her in front of me!?"
"Defensive aren't you? Her dream was set to fail, Vox, everyone with half a brain-cell knows that. And if I didn't know any better I'd assume you had a crush on her with how protective you are of her."
Vox scoffed,"Irrelevant. You fucking destroyed her dreams! I won't talk smack about her in my presence. Your stubbornness ruined everything! You ruined her hotel, your ruined several people's lives and you DON'T GIVE A FUCK! Are you incapable of realizing your mistakes, Val? All of this bloodshed was completely unnecessary! If you just knew when to FUCKING quit, we wouldn't even be here! Your inability to quit has led to your own undoing and even now, you STILL refuse to admit you're wrong while lying in a crumpled heap on the floor! Instead of taking responsibility, you deflect onto everyone else for your problems, when all of this was your FAULT! And now, I have to kill you because of your stubbornness, because you refuse to stay down otherwise. You're forcing my hand here, Val, and now you give me no other choice but to put an end to you…"
Vox then grabbed the spear that he had taken from the umbrella stand, raising it towards Val. He prepared to kill him. Vox approached Val and got closer, towering over his former lover with Vaggie's holy weapon in hand.
As he raised the weapon, intent on ending it all. Vox once again made a crucial looked at Val right in the eyes. And just then, Vox was bombarded by all the memories he had with Val, causing him to hesitate at the last minute.
Val must've seen this moment of weakness, quickly taking his chance to grab the holy revolver that had fallen out of his coat during the fight while Vox was slamming him around and fired at him point blank, an ear-shattering gun-shot breaking the silence.
"Gotcha!"
"Gngh!" Vox's eyes widened as he was shot, the burning sensation forcing him to revert back into his base state out of pure instinct, causing him to collapse onto his back. Thoughts began to flood into the back of his mind as searing hot pain burned in his chest, just narrowly missing his heart.
"Fuck. I...I've been hit…" Vox's breath wavered as the weight of what just occurred hit him like a sack of bricks. He had just been shot with a holy revolver, it was game over from there. He had passed the point of return the moment that bullet hit him, not that it was only a matter of time before the holy metal killed him.'Guess its game over for me…'
Val laughed at his suffering from afar, using this opportunity to regain his footing,"Aw, what's the matter, Vox? Couldn't finish the job? I knew you were too soft to do the deed. You were always too soft. And because of your weakness, you're going to die as a fucking failure. Hope you're happy with yourself, Voxy, your stupidity has finally caught up with you and it's cost you greatly…"
Val's words echoed in Vox's head.
'Fuck…' Vox thought,'I...I really am a failure. I couldn't even do the deed when it fucking mattered. What a fucking waste, I did all of this for nothing…'
Vox prepared to accept his fate, closing his eyes. As he prepared to embrace the darkness, Vox's vision flashed by, seeing the faces of all the people who were counting on the people Val had screwed over one way or another.
Arackniss. Angel...Charlie...all of them were counting on him one way or another. That didn't even mention the other hotel residents who could easily get hurt by Val or his forces one way or another. All those people were counting on him…
'No...not yet...I can't die...not now…' His mis-matched eyes snapped open before grasping hold of the holy spear once more. Through sheer willpower, Vox forced himself to stand up, ignoring the agony he felt just by breathing.
Valentino snarled, just now noticing Vox had stood up,"Ugh! You're still alive? Guess I'll need to put an extra bullet in you for good measure…" Val shot at Vox again until only blanks remained, Vox still standing tall and limping towards him without a sign that the bullets had even slowed him down remotely.
The weakened moth tensed at the look in Vox's eyes. The look in Vox's eyes burned off a feeling of utter determination, as if he had nothing left to lose and continued onward. Val tried to back away, but Vox managed to get close enough to grab Val. He threw Val's gun aside and began holding him by the collar, lilfting him and readying his spear.
"Y-You fucking wouldn't. You didn't have the guts to do it before, what the hell makes you think you have the balls to kill me now? You love me, Vox, you don't have the balls to kill someone you love."
"That may have been true before, but that time has passed, Val. I have realized that I cannot allow my love for you to come over the lives you've taken and will continue to take as long as you live. You are a menace to this society, one that must be stopped at all costs. I may not have much time left, but I'll be damned again before I allow you to hurt anymore people."
Without another word, Vox then stabbed Val right in the chest, Val coughing up blood, eyes wide in disbelief at this wound. Val looked at his wound, a large gaping hole in the center of his chest.
Val stared at Vox before asking in a horse and weak voice that was barely above a whisper, blood trickling from his mouth,"W-Well...looks like you fucking won, Vox. You killed me just like you said you would. But tell me…was it really worth it?"
Vox didn't answer his question, merely staring back at Val. Seconds later, the life in Val's eyes fading away as he fell limp. He dropped Val's body onto the ground, staring at his body with quiet solace in his eyes.
He did it. He had won...Val was no more. But...
A great pain struck him like thunder, causing him to nearly collapse.
The TV Demon then clutched his side, cursing as the pain came back to him,'D-Dammit…" Vox remembered his injuries, aware that he would follow soon after.
Using Vaggie's spear as a support, Vox staggered onward, using what little energy he had left in him to move forward. He could feel himself getting weaker with each passing step, his eyes growing tired.
'Not yet…' he thought, he didn't want to die. Not here anyway. He preferred a much less...destroyed area for his final stop. If he was going to perish, he was going to choose where he died...
Eventually, Vox found a nice spot to rest, having gotten himself far away from the carnage to find a suitable resting spot. Vox sat himself up against a dying tree, propping his battered body against the bark, wincing in agony as his injuries set in, burning like hellfire.
He could take so much, it was how sinners were built, to take just about anything...but Vox knew he wasn't coming back from this. His body has had enough and he couldn't go on any longer...
His eyes then averted, looking up at the skies of Pentagram City, thoughts swimming in his mind. He thought about what Val had said to him before he died, if his valiant effort was truly worth all the trouble he caused…
He then remembered what he had done today. He had destroyed Val's empire for good, ending Val's reign of terror and freeing Hell of a great menace. He had avenged the deaths of those who died at Val's hand and those who were hurt by his actions one way or another. They got their long awaited justice by Vox fulfilling his promise.
The only thing Vox hadn't succeeded in...was apologizing to Vol. The thing he had done this all for was something he'd never get to do.
Vox then chuckled dryly, the calmness never leaving his voice,"Heh...I...I can't say I was too surprised by this outcome. I had a feeling this would happen. Oh well, I...I can't say I didn't deserve this, it was gonna sooner or later, I just didn't think Val would be the one to put the nail in my coffin. At least I managed to do something right for a change. I just wish...I could've apologized to him before I died. That's the only thing I truly regret…" Vox weakly said before saying,"May god forgive me for this..."
He took his final breath, falling limp against the bark as he died peacefully, succumbing to injuries, head to the side slightly. His eyes were wide for a moment, a completely neutral expression on his face for a mere second, mouth open slightly.
Vox's screen then turned completely black, the WiFi signal at the top of his hat faded, the colors now dull. The most colorful part of his body was now the blood that stained his outfit, as every other bright color had faded once he passed. The bloody spear rested in his hands.
All signs of life had faded away as the TV Demon rested against the the tree, his body motionless as an eerie silence filled the area.
He had died alone, no one had seen him perish. It was only the dying world around him to keep him company...
He had won...but at the cost of his life...

Enigmus-288: I prefer going to the unexpected route honestly. Just how I am. And thanks, I plan on keeping up on the good work and improving.
Mitsuru6: Yeah, perfect entrance am I right? And yeah, Vol is still pissed about being called an abomination. No surprise there. Vol is still a bit of a dick, at least when Vox is brought up in the conversation.
