Vincent, Velvet and Micheal approached the outside of the Studio. Micheal, however, stopped them at the last moment,"Wait. Not yet. We can't go out like this."
"What do you mean?"
"If the other Exorcists see Velvet they'll kill her on sight. We already have their suspicions, and the last thing we need is to confirm it for them…"
"So what should we do?"
Micheal rubbed his chin for a moment before snapping his fingers,"Got it."
Velvet blinked,"Wait, what are we doing again? WOAH!"
She nearly jumped out of her skin when she noticed that her dress had been replaced with Exorcist garb, albeit a more feminine version of the uniform.
Her outfit was color-coded just like theirs was, having velvet-white striped arm sleeves and black gloves and boots. Unlike them, she had a visible skirt to fit the aesthetic. Her LED mask had a large red heart instead of an 'X' with matching horns. She even had makeshift wings and a halo just like they did. She was even carrying a holy battle axe for a weapon.
"Woah...Did you just...give me an outfit?"
"Of course I did. It was the only way we'd be able to disguise you. In case we run into the others, this should keep you safe. Especially since as long as you're wearing it, they won't be able to detect your wicked energy. Call it a smokescreen if you will."
"Thanks…" Velvet mumbled,"I'll lead the way."
Within seconds they headed outside, taking flight. Velvet used her pseudo wings to keep up with them. As they were flying, they ran into the other Exorcists, who were covered in blood that clearly didn't belong to them.
"Hey, since when was there another one? I thought it was just the two of you…" One asked, noticing Velvet's presence, who was doing her best to avoid crumbling to the ground in fear, her breath heaving underneath the mask."And why don't you guys have any blood on you?"
"No luck on finding anyone inside the buildings," Micheal said,"And as for her, we ran into her earlier. I think someone up there misheard that we needed extra Exorcists and sent her down."
"Are you kidding me?" They groaned,"Ugh, definitely gonna complain to PR about this. It so stupid they send newbs down here with no regard for it effects our accuracy as a whole. Look, since you three are...not good at this, just leave the rest to us. We still have a while until the Extermination ends, so we'll handle the other circles on our own."
"Good. See you guys later," Micheal said, watching as the others flew off. Once they were out of sight, Velvet relaxed.
"Oh my god...I thought they'd never leave…"
"Believe me, we know," Vincent retorted,"They're rather nosy. They don't tend to let anything go around here. But I think our excuses drove them away, they won't bother us from now on, meaning we can head to that mansion you were talking about earlier…"
"Follow me…" She replied, leading them away from the city, the two men following after her closely.
Back at Lucifer's mansion, everyone was sitting back, awaiting for the Extermination to pass. Charlie had told everyone that the Exterminators never came around the Mansion as a way to ease their worries and since no one had seen any, they had taken Charlie's words seriously and tried their best to distract themselves from the slaughter outside.
Velvet had dozed off on the couch. Without her phone, she saw no reason to continue to stay awake, hoping by the time she woke up that the Extermination would be over…
Suddenly, she heard someone knocking on the door. Her ivory eyes creaked open, lifting her head from her hand,"Huh? W-Was that a knock? At this time of the year? Nah...It's probably just my imagination…."
She thought that...at least until she heard another knock. Her gaze now shifted towards the door, staring at it wearily. A tiny part of her was somewhat curious as to who was on the other side, but when she remembered who was likely awaiting her, she became tense…
'Exterminators…' She thought,'They usually bust in...But these ones aren't? Maybe they aren't allowed, but I find it odd they aren't more hostile…' She had heard stories of Exorcists busting through buildings to get to demons. The extra stubborn ones weren't satisfied with just targeting those who stayed past the curfew and even targeted those who thought they were safe.
While she was thankful she never had to experience it herself, she always placed such information in the back of her mind.
Her better judgment told her not to open the door. To just ignore them and hope they would go away. But a tiny part of her was edging her to go towards the door and open it, just to see what would happen. She knew she'd probably fucking regret it...but she honestly didn't see what she had left to lose..
'I'm already dead anyway..Besides, if they aren't busting down the door, maybe they just wanna talk...I hope…' The doll demon gathered up the courage to approach the door. She hesitated to grab the door-knob for a moment, tensing up.
'Come on, Vanessa. Be a brave bitch and do it...Worst thing that can happen is that you die for real, right?' She thought, trying to maintain her composure. After taking a deep breath, she grabbed the knob before pulling it open.
Outside, she saw three Exorcists waiting for her. The air was tense and Velvet was questioning if she made the right call, her heart nearly beating out of her chest just from the sight of them. Still, she noticed that they hadn't made any sudden movements towards her and figured maybe she'd come out of this in one piece…
Still, she couldn't help but notice something strange about these Exorcists. They were rather colorful compared to the ones she had seen out the windows. Even through the tinted glass of Val's Studio, she could always tell the Exorcists had a rather dull color palette consisting of shades of grey and black.
The only time any other color appeared on their uniforms was when they were drenched in the blood of other demons, not from the outfits themselves. And unlike the Exterminators she saw, these ones had not a speck of blood on their clothes, nor their weapons, as if they hadn't even used them since the Extermination began.
The ones in front of her were a lot more colorful than she was used to. The one that was her height had velvet, black and white colors, the second tallest one had light blue and grey with hints of white in between while the tallest had white, gold and silver in their design. Even their LED masks weren't the signature pale red colors that they were known for whenever their faces made an expression. They were velvet, light blue and gold respectively.
There was that,, and the fact most Exorcists looked rather androgynous and their uniforms made it impossible to actually tell the gender of who was underneath that costume(and to be frank, it was probably best you didn't get close enough to check for yourself). From what she could tell, the taller ones were most likely male and the shorter one wearing the skirt was female judging by the body proportions.
"Uh…" She stammered,"Can I help you three?"
Vincent said in a rather cold voice,"Can you let us inside? He wanted us to come here…" He said this while motioning to Micheal, his LED mask giving off the impression he didn't want to be here.
That and she could tell he was looking at her and the other Exorcist with bewilderment, though she couldn't tell why…..
"You're not gonna hurt anyone, are ya?" She asked.
He scoffed,"If we wanted to hurt anyone do you really think we'd just be standing out here talking to you?"
She flinched at his tone, still eyeing the weapon in his hands with barely hidden fear, still weary that they might attack at the drop of a hat.
Micheal reached out to her,"Relax. We're not here to harm you. He's a bit...impatient but I assure you that we come in peace…We just need to talk to your group of friends. It's rather important…"
"Uh...Okay?" Velvet mumbled,"Do you want me to get them or-"
"We'd like to be let inside. Now." Vincent retorted, his piercing blue eyes visible even through his mask, which gave away his irritation.
"Oh...Ok...Come on in then.." She let them inside and closed the door, still refusing to turn her back against them. They were still carrying their weapons on them and showed no signs of dropping them, something that caused her hair to stand on end.
They showed no signs of hostility outside of carrying their weapons, though Velvet still kept an eye on them just in case. However, as she was leading them closer, she tensed when she heard footsteps and Vol's voice starting,
"Hey Velvet, I was just looking for you and I was wondering if we could-" Vol's eyes locked with the Exorcists and his calm demeanor shattered within seconds,"VELVET! WHAT THE FUCK!? GET AWAY FROM THEM!"
'Shit!' Velvet cursed before putting her hands up,"Vol, I get this looks bad but you gotta trust me on this one. They aren't here to harm us! Please just calm down and-"
Vol wasn't having any of it,"Calm down!? Are you fucking INSANE? These fuckers are literally EXTERMINATING people outside and you thought bringing them into the mansion was a good idea!? Are you trying to get us all killed!? Why did I even bring them here anyway!?"
"They said they wanted to talk…"
Vol's eye was twitching,"And you believed them!? They're EXORCISTS and you thought they would only come here to talk!? With their holy weapons? Oh they sure want to talk alright, talk about how they'll kill us all!"
Vincent then raised his voice,"If we wanted anyone dead this wouldn't even be a conversation. Do you truly believe we couldn't have killed your girlfriend the moment she opened the door? Trust me, it wouldn't have taken much for us to kill her and everyone here knows it."
Volastor clenched his fist, desiring to rebut this claim but ultimately remained silent. He couldn't argue with that logic now, could he? If they really wanted Velvet dead, she would've died the moment she opened the door. And by the time he would've gotten there, she would've been a lifeless corpse on the floor, laying in a pool of her own blood.
He scowled,"Even then, what the hell are you even here for?"
"To speak with the residents of this mansion. It's rather important," Micheal replied,"I know that this is hard to understand at the moment, but everything will be explained in due time…"
"Who even are?" Vol asked, giving him a glare.
"That's none of your business.."
"It most definitely is. Especially since you and your pals are endangering our safety! The least you could do is show yourself behind that damn mask. Show me your real face, you fucking coward…"
"I'm not a coward, Volastor."
"How do you-"
"I just do. But since you're so curious, I'll show you for myself. Perhaps it'll bring you some sort of peace…" He then removed his helmet, revealing his true face. He brushed his bangs back into it's signature style and cocked his head to the side,"Well? Are you satisfied now?"
Everyone but Vincent was floored when they saw his real face. Micheal looking like a softer version of Lucifer likely wasn't helping matters.
Vol freaked out,"Oh god no! Lucifer cloned himself! We're all doomed!"
"I'm not a clone…" Micheal replied, obviously bewildered by this accusation,'I know Lucifer and I look similar but seriously? I'm not similar enough to him to be mistaken for a clone…'
"Then who are you?"
"He's my brother…"
Everyone turned around to see Lucifer standing there with an unamused look on his face. He then stared directly at Micheal before saying,"Hello there, Micheal…"
"Lucifer…" He narrowed his eyes,"I had a feeling we'd run into each other eventually…"
"So why are you here again? You know you're not supposed to be here. You're violating the treaty. You are aware that's an act of war, right? Do you think just because you're God's favorite that means you can just prance around down here at your leisure."
"I'm not violating the treaty, Lucifer. I came as an Exterminator and Exterminators are allowed into your realm specifically for cleansing the population."
'Dammit...he's' not wrong…' Lucifer made a face,"Even then, it's obvious you and your...friends haven't killed anyone judging by the fact your weapons are clean. If you aren't here to kill anyone, what are you here for?"
"To talk to everyone here. I have...important news to share without everyone here and I'd appreciate it if all the residents were present…Mind getting them for me?"
Lucifer narrowed his eyes,"I will...but you better have a good explanation for yourself. You're on thin ice, Micheal, so I suggest you be on your best behavior unless you want things to get ugly…"
Micheal scowled but remained silent, sending his brother a glare,'He never changes does he? Can't say I'm too surprised there…'
Lucifer did as he said he would, gathering all the other inhabitants of the mansion around. Most of the other residents were downright terrified when they saw the other Exorcists and even Charlie herself was weary, twiddling her fingers. She then looked at her father and said,"Dad, what's this about again?"
"I'm not too certain on that one, you should go ask your uncle...After all, Micheal's the one who wanted to come here. He should explain himself…" He said this while giving his brother a look,"Though I do think all of us would appreciate an explanation on how you even got here in the first place…"
"We flew…"
"You know what I'm talking about," Lucifer shot back,"You've never even set foot in Hell before, how did you even know where I lived?"
"Velvet told me."
The others became visibly confused, sending Velvet looks. She put her hands up in the air,"Don't look at me! I've never met this guy before!"
"Then how did he know then?" Lucifer asked,"Is there some other Velvet that exists that we don't know about?"
"Uh...hi?" Velvet piped up,"I'm right here...I've been here the whole time just saying. I lead them here…" She removed her Exorcist mask awkwardly, knowing the reactions she'd receive once she exposed herself.
Everyone fell silent for a moment before Arackniss screeched,"ACK! It's the bitch who chopped my arm off!" He pulled a gun and prepared ot shoot her,"You've got a lot of fucking nerve to show yourself here. One wrong move and I'll shoot ya…"
"Stand down, Arackniss," Micheal said,"Velvet is not a threat, hold your fire."
"Tell that to the arm she chopped off!" Arackniss growled,"My arm still hasn't fully grown back from that! It'll probably be another month before my arm fully regenerates thanks to that bitch and her stupid axe! And now she has a holy one! What the fuck were you thinking giving her this shit?"
"I was trying to prolong her survival. I needed Velvet to track this place down and I couldn't risk the other Exorcists killing her. I didn't want to blow my cover around them…."
"Really?" Lucifer asked,"You resorted to disguising yourself as a mortal soul and recruiting an overlord just to get to us? That's a new low, Micheal…"
"I don't want to lecture you about my lowness…" He then pinched the bridge of his nose,"Look, I'd love to argue with you, Luci-"
"Don't call me that."
Micheal rolled his eyes,"But I didn't come here to bicker. I came here because I needed to tell you all that I made a mistake that concerns all of you…"
"A mistake?" The King cocked his head to the side with an amused smirk,"You made a mistake, Micheal? First time I've heard of that one. Looks like you're not so perfect after all…"
"Not now, Lucifer," Micheal hissed,"This is serious! I made a mistake and you're being a petty brat!"
"What was this mistake again?" Alastor inquired, cocking an eyebrow,"It must've been rather serious if you came all the way here to tell us…"
"Yeah, what the hell is the big idea?" Vaggie asked,"How bad did you fuck up that you had to come to Hell just to tell us?"
He took a deep breath,"You know how your friend Vox died not too long ago?"
A silence passed over the group before a mutual nod was made, everyone's expressions became sombre at Vox's name being mentioned.
"What about him?" Volastor asked, trying to maintain his aloof attitude, though the cracks were somewhat visible,"He's dead, Micheal. What is there to discuss?"
"There's more to discuss because Vox isn't quite dead…"
Everyone gave Micheal a look, Angel raising an eyebrow,"Uh…. No offense, Micheal, but me as well as everyone else saw Vox get buried. He was dead as a doorknob. Fucking hell, I think a good portion of his body was broken. No way he could've survived that."
"Well you are right on that front. His physical body couldn't have survived, but Vox's soul went to that place that you demons nickname,'double-hell'. Whenever souls go up into that plane of existence, they stay there for a prolonged period of time before their souls are ultimately recycled and sent back to Earth as a new person…"
"So Vox is basically reincarnated as another person? Great, now all we have to do is hope that person fucks up like he did so we can see him. But I doubt we'd be able to recognize him and he wouldn't technically be Vox anymore so that fucking sucks…" Husk muttered.
"Actually no, Vox didn't get reincarnated, at least, not in the way that normal souls go. You see, Father told me to and confront Vox about his accomplishments. I applauded him for his work, though I could tell that Vox was disappointed for not fulfilling his end goal of apologizing to Volastor and was upset he'd never get that chance again…"
"But then?" Niffty asked,"What happened?"
"Well, I offered Vox a chance to 'live' again. However, I was a bit...uncertain how to do it at first, at least in a safe manner. Vox's original body was compromised due to the injuries he sustained so I couldn't just place his soul in his old vessel. The only logical way to give Vox a body was for me to put his soul into a heavenly body. The main problem with this was that Vox's demonic essence would likely counteract with the divine body and that they wouldn't be compatible. The only way I could realistically do anything for him was if I removed all of the demonic essence from Vox's soul and then put him in a new body."
"So where is Vox then? I don't see him…"
"He's been with us the whole time, Alastor. But he doesn't go by that name anymore, do you, Vincent?" He looked at the blue Exorcist who still had his mask up,"Show yourself to the others. They deserve to see your true face…"
Vincent narrowed his eyes before taking his mask off. Everyone saw a male with squinted blue eyes and platinum blonde hair, his skin a grayish pale color. There was a moment of silence before Volastor stammered, standing back in disbelief,"Vox...is that really you? You're alive after all this time?"
"My name is not-Gah!" Vincent gasped when Volastor ran up and hugged him. It was out of the blue and Vincent was far from pleased when he found this demonic creature hugging him.'What the!? What is this demon doing!? Why is he hugging me? Is he trying to rub his sinful nature onto me?'
Even though Volastor's presence wasn't as malevolent as others, he could just sense something about him that made him want to separate from him as much as possible.
And thus, Vincent shoved Volastor off of him and shouted,"Stay back you crazy hell-spawn! You've got some nerve to put your hands on me!"
Volastor stood back, mouth agape. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. It was like someone had just hit him with a tidal wave. The next thing he knew, Vincent was pointing his spear at him and saying,"Make another move like that towards me and it won't end well, demon."
'Demon?' Vol asked, visibly hurt by this comment,"I...I don't understand, Vox...Why are you acting like this?"
"I just said, that's NOT my name! Do not address me by another person's title! It's offensive!"
'What? Another person's title?' Vol's mind raced. He thought that this was a happy reunion only to get met with this sort of reaction.
He then looked at Micheal and asked,"What did you do to him? Why is he so...so hostile?"
Micheal rubbed the back of his head,"I gave Vox a new vessel...I just...erased his memory as a result and turned him into a completely different person…'
"You did WHAT!?" Volastor shouted, now realizing what this meant,'He..he doesn't remember everything...Including me…'
Volastor's world started to collapse around him as the weight of Micheal's actions set him...
Vox..was gone...his demonic form had been erased from existence for good.
But Vincent, the pure and heavenly being was here to stay...
'Oh no...' A mutual thought that ran through every other person's heads at the sight of Vincent, who remained hostile as can be at the sight of so many 'unholy' creatures in his presence.

Enigmus-288: Covering that in this chapter. And yeah, Micheal and Lucifer aren't exactly on good terms so that's bad...
Chronosign: Yeah that'll come into play later. Lucifer and Micheal aren't exactly the best brothers in the whole wide world right now. And the other's reactions will spread into the next chapter as well.
Guest: Yeah, I got that covered in this chapter though so it's fine.
Mitsuru6: Lol, people kept asking where Vol's coldness came from and I'm just pointing at Vo-I mean Vincent. Also, Vincent and Vox really aren't the same being anymore. Vincent is more or less a different person with very TINY snippets of Vox's memory and even then, they aren't the same being anymore. Even without his memories, Vincent is a rather cold person just saying. Just in his nature.
