So I added up the votes and the obvious winner was Jolex! I'm so excited for this because Jolex in my opinion was the most unproblematic couple even though they were both very problematic people.

Jo had been still very upset with the loss of Lonnie. She still couldn't walk by his room by herself. She felt his spirit lurking the halls with every step she took. When Meredith got back the next day and Bailey had told her the news, her face fell, And Jo saw that. In her office, Jo sat on the couch working on paperwork while Meredith sat in her chair and just watched the surgery.

"Bailey had done everything perfectly." she mumbled. She replayed the video, and again, and again.

"She did everything perfectly." Jo repeated. She looked out the window and saw Alex. She gave her a questioning look; as if she were to know what that meant. He pointed at Meredith and Jo just shrugged her shoulders. Alex knocked on the door and Meredith said to come in.

"Hey Mer. I wanted to know if Jo-"

"No. Jo stays."

"But we have to meet Kepner in 30 minutes for wedding planning."

She gave Alex a death glare and did a hand movement as to say that Jo was allowed to leave. Once they walked out of the office Alex said, "She's watching the surgery isn't she."

"Yes. It's her 4th time."

Alex's phone rang and immediately Jo could hear April on the other line.

"Where in the world are you?"

"The hospital Keps. There are dying children who need a doctor."

"There are also people in trauma dying everyday but I'm here stuck at home because I pushed out a child.There are other doctors."

Jo took the phone, "Feisty Keps, Mer wouldn't let me leave. We lost Lonnie."

"Oh okay. Just be here soon."

Jo handed the phone back to Alex and they walked out the door and headed to the car. They drove to the Avery's apartment and Jackson opened the door, exhausted and holding a screaming baby.

"Alex thank god you're here." he said, handing Samuel over to Alex and letting them come it. Samuel instantly stopped crying and started baby babbling.

"He hates me. He only likes April. April is wedding planning. I get stuck with Samuel. It's been nothing but crying all week. ALL WEEK."

"It's okay Jackson, because lucky for you, I'm the baby expert. All you have to do is support his neck like this and hold him close to you if you feel like he's gonna cry. They love skin to skin contact."

Alex handed Jackson the baby and helped him hold Samuel the way he did and Samuel was completely fine and didn't cry at all. April walked in with binders stacked on top of each other and she too looked like a wreck.

"Yay he stopped crying!" She said, smiling at Jackson. She mouthed the words "thank you" to Alex and sat down on the couch.

"So guys, I picked out a few venues and stores that I thought you'd like." She handed them the orange colored binder and started pointing at pictures and explaining to them what they all were.

"Ooh, an outdoor venue. We've always liked that." Jo pointed at the picture.

"It is very beautiful I do agree." Alex said. They continued looking through the binder at venues, but kept looking back at that outdoor venue Jo picked out.

"So did you guys make a decision?" April asked.

"Yeah, I think we did." Jo said, pointing at the venue and beaming ear to ear.

April closed the binder and grabbed a purple one. Jackson, who was sitting in the chair holding a sleeping Samuel, was also sleeping.

They continued looking through binder after binder, Alex and Jo getting exhaused from looking through every one and April was getting exhausted from having hardly any sleep for the past week. Once they were done, April picked up Samuel and brought him back to his nursery. She cane back into the living room to say goodbye to Jo and Alex.

"I'm gonna try and get some sleep you guys. The next time I'll bring over some cake samples and snacks."

"Ooh can you make sure you have chips? Like the original potato chips?" Alex said, Jo slapped him lightly.

"Of course." April said. She opened the door to let Jo and Alex out.

They got in the car and drove back to their apartment. "Well that was interesting." Jo said.

"Yeah how many binders did we go through, like 100?"

"It had to be. I didn't even know there was such thing as that many colors."

"And how many cake flavors was there, like 200 at least"

"I mean was there a need for vanilla, vanilla bean, vanilla caramel, vanilla mocha, and vanilla cocoa?"

"oh and you can't forget strawberries and creme which is just vanilla cake with strawberries."

they continued on with their banter until they got home. By this time, it was raining and windy. Alex got an umbrella out from the trunk of the car and grabbed Jo by the waist and escoted her to the door. They both went into their apartment building and Alex shook the rain out of his hair all over Jo.

"you goofball." She said, and but her hands on his face and kissed him softly on the lips. Their kiss made time stop, and they were the only ones who knew.

Alex dropped the umbrella to the ground and took his and Jo's coats off. He picked her up and the rest of the night was pure magic.

The next day, Jo was on call while Alex had to work. He got up super early in the morning, made a pot of coffee and breakfast for himself and Jo, and woke her up to a kiss on her forehead.

Her eyes fluttered open and a grin came across her face, "Good morning my almost husband." she said and kissed him gently, "Did you make breakfast this morning?"

A smirk came across his face and he nodded. He brought her a plate of waffles and eggs to the bed. "I figured the best on-call day ever should start with breakfast in bed and should follow up with some cartoons." He tuned on the TV and kissed the top of her head.

"Alex, what did I do to deserve you?" She said and took a bite of the eggs.

"It's the other way around my love. Now I have to go to work. I'll see you in exactly 24 hours." He kissed her one last time before shutting the door behind him and leaving her to believe the day was going to be amazing.

Spoiler Alert- this day was the worst day of Jo's life.

Guys, I am so sorry for how awful I am at uploading Chapters. School fr takes a toll on me and I honeslty forgot about this story until I saw a tiktok about it. Anyway, I'll try and upload more. Much love- P
