With no real plan in place, Jinx decides to stash Caitlyn in her room for the time being. And yes, by room she means atop the incredibly secure blades of the deactivated generator that she's adopted as her home. It's close to Silco's HQ in the undercity and she manages to get there without being spotted. Okay, that's a lie, but anyone who spotted her is dead now, so that's basically the same thing.
Caitlyn is still counting sheep, so Jinx unceremoniously dumps her in front of her couch. That's fine for now, she clambers onto the couch and reaches up behind it to turn on her neon lights, letting out a satisfied hmph as the empty space around her fills with light.
"We won't share the couch." Clagger is hanging directly above her head right now and his voice sounds much clearer than it did back in Piltover. He's of course referring to the open couch space between him and Mylo.
"Yeah yeah, I know." Jinx rolls her eyes, "I wouldn't dream of it, I'm not crazy you know."
Mylo jeers at her from where he lies on the couch, "Crazy enough to kidnap someone from their house though."
Jinx reaches out to give his shoulder a gentle shove as she steps off the couch. "I had to, okay? For Silco. Now leave me alone."
Jinx leaves the three of them for a moment and heads to the central console of her generator. There're a few things stashed here that she'll surely need. The first of which she easily finds, being a chair and some rope. Can't have her precious cargo falling to her death now can we. That would actually be kind of funny, but it would ruin her plans. Plans that don't exist yet, but that doesn't matter!
Jinx picks up a wooden chair and blows on it once to remove the dust, satisfied when at least some of the dirt clouds into the air and dissipates. This'll do for now. She returns to the couch and places the chair down next to it, making sure to keep enough distance between Mylo and the chair so he won't complain.
She leans down and grasps both of Cailtyn's shoulders, lifting her in one fluid motion and placing her down firmly onto the chair. Cailtyn instantly slouches forward from being unconscious, but Jinx just tsk tsks her bad posture and pushes so her shoulders press against the back of the chair. Once Caitlyn's back is perfectly straight, Jinx twines the rope around her shoulders, chest, and back of the chair. She moves down with the remaining rope and ties it around each leg, ensuring Caitlyn's feet don't touch the ground. This way she won't be able to try and escape.
She knots the rope, then confirms there's no room for escape. As usual, she did a great job, so she leaves the Kiramman girl for now and collapses onto the couch, one arm casually slinging around Mylo's shoulder. "You know, instead of harassing me you could tell me I did a good job."
This time Mylo stays silent, maybe it's his way of antagonizing her. She bites her lower lip and turns her attention back to her guest. Somehow, the enforcer's still asleep. Jinx knew she was good at knocking people out, but not this good damn. It must be some kind of privilege thing to oversleep this much.
It does give Jinx time to figure out her next steps. Truth be told, and she doesn't admit this lightly, she did kidnap Caitlyn kind of on a whim. As in, she's not sure what to do next. Obviously, she wants to see this enforcer die or at least suffer in extra-ordinary fashion, and if Vi could be there too to witness it that would be best.
Luring Vi somewhere will be easy, all she needs to do is leave a note and she'll come running for sure to rescue her precious cupcake. A few ideas float around in her head. The first is a classic for her, she could strap a bomb to Caitlyn's chest, then Vi has to disable it before the time limit. If not, kaboom. It would be a great explosion, but Vi also might die if it goes off, and while Jinx is furious with her, she's not ready to see Vi die at her own invention's hand.
Another idea is to simply push Caitlyn off a high ledge and have Vi try to catch her. Vi probably would survive, though she'd be hurt. As long as Vi survives and Caitlyn dies, Jinx'll be happy. Maybe she can convince Vi to shoot Caitlyn herself, the thought sends a shiver up Jinx's spine. That would be phenomenal.
Her musings are interrupted by her prisoner coughing loudly, she must have woken up. Right when Jinx was getting a good idea too, why does this girl have the worst timing with LITERALLY everything?
Jinx stands up slowly and makes her way around the side of the chair, running one hand over Caitlyn's shoulder as she goes. "Well well well, you're finally awake." Jinx towers over her for a moment, noting that Caitlyn's stopped coughing but is still trying to clear her throat. "Do you even know how long you made me wait?" It was only like ten minutes, but Jinx isn't going to tell her that.
Caitlyn's eyes are just as intense as they were back in the Kiramman manor. She stares at Jinx for a moment before glancing around the space, "Where are we?"
Jinx narrows her eyes slightly, holds the tension for just a moment longer… then tips her head back and laughs so loudly it echoes against the generator at least three times. The audacity of this girl, Jinx can't even believe it. She leans forward, hands landing on her knees to hold herself up, her laughter finally subsiding.
Jinx sits down with a quiet thud and crosses her legs, rocking back and forth a little bit as she answers, "You're in a safe place, for now."
The enforcer shifts her body, arms barely able to move from where she's tied down. She looks down, then back up. She must be afraid, but her face doesn't show it. "What do you want with me?" She asks, though it almost sounds like a demand.
"Oh, nothing. Or maybe something." Jinx leans back and extends her arms so her hands are palm down against the cool metal. "I haven't decided yet."
Caitlyn's eyebrow twitches and she goes back to glancing around. "In that case, can you please let me go?"
"Hmmm" Jinx hangs onto the mmm for a good ten seconds, relishing in having the upper hand. "Nah, I don't think so."
The Kiramman girl doesn't give up. "Please. I don't know what your true objectives are, but Vi is trying to help you." Hearing her sister's name causes a spark to flicker to life in Jinx's chest, and it only takes a moment for it to burst into an engulfing flame which threatens to consume her. Caitlyn continues, "If we can work together, then surely…" The heat rises to Jinx's head and she lurches forward to smash her fists against the ground. The loud sound causes Caitlyn to fall silent mid sentence.
"Surely what?! We could all live happily ever after, is that what you were going to say?" Jinx's words cut through the air like daggers. She clambers to her feet, left hand flicking to grab her pistol from its holster. "Oh, I bet you know all about Vi don't you, because you two are sooo close." Jinx presses the pistol forcefully against Caitlyn's chin and practically spits into her face. "I dare you to say her name one more time."
Caitlyn simply stares at her, eyes defiantly holding her gaze. Much to Jinx's disappointment she doesn't speak. Jinx stands there for a moment, the anger draining from her body. She relaxes a few seconds later, throwing the pistol behind her with a quick flick of the wrist. She crosses her arms, once again inspecting her prisoner. "You know, I think I get why she likes you."
She just had a great idea.
"Thank you, I gu..." Caitlyn is once again cut off as Jinx leans down to pick up chair, "Woah! What the…"
"Calm down, we have things to do so stop wriggling." Jinx hoists Caitlyn, chair and all, and moves her towards the center of her room. She walks into the center of her generator, around the inside loop, and places Caitlin down on the opposite side near the entrance of another wing. Once her hands are free, she flourishes with a goofy grin, "Welcome to my kitchen!" she announces.
Without waiting for a response Jinx spins away from Caitlyn and enters her self-proclaimed kitchen. It really is a kitchen, just not with as much stuff as you'd usually expect. She has a bowl, she has an oven, and she has a small cabinet for storing things. That's really all a girl could ask for. She starts to rummage through her cabinet, pulling out a few key ingredients.
"What're you doing?" Caitlyn asks. She's sitting about 3 feet away, but still has a pretty decent view of what's going on. "Baking?"
Jinx rolls her eyes at the question. "Uh, duhhh. I'm baking cupcakes."
Caitlyn physically flinches at the answer. "I am curious how you learned that name, but I'm guessing you won't tell me."
Jinx opens her package of flour and dumps some into the bowl. "It's nothing fancy, I just overheard you. I spent a lottt of time following you guys." Jinx reaches for the salt next.
"Um…" Caitlyn seems to have something she wants to say, and she speaks with Jinx pauses to look at her, "Aren't you going to measure that?"
Jinx blinks, what is she talking about? She glances down at her bowl. "Oh, the flour?"
Caitlyn nods, "If you want them to turn out right you have to measure, baking is very particular."
Jinx supposes that makes sense, her technology and science are the same way, everything is down to an exact number, and everything needs to be in the right place or else things go kaboom. Jinx goes back to her food cabinet and opens the door, she did steal some measuring containers recently, maybe those'll work.
She finds them quickly and holds them up so Caitlyn can see. She gets a firm nod from the prisoner and goes about scooping the flour back into the original packaging so she can try again. "How much do I need?" she asks.
Jinx realizes it's silly to assume Caitlyn would know this information, but after a moment of thought the enforcer responds confidently. "It'll really depend on how many you want to make. One cup will make 12."
That seems fine. Jinx finds her cup measurer and scoops the flour. It definitely is less than the amount she was using before.
Amazingly, Caitlyn walks her through adding the additional ingredients in the correct amounts and reminds her to pre-heat the oven. To be honest, this is the first time since they've met that Jinx hasn't wanted to kill her. Maybe she can become the full-time chef of The Last Drop or something, if things turn out differently.
Once the ingredients are mixed, Jinx pours them into the baking tin she has and places them in to cook. They don't have any sort of timer, so Jinx checks on them every couple of minutes as she works on making the frosting. She doesn't have a lot of sugar, so she ends up using just a little bit, but she's sure they'll taste fine.
After about ten minutes the cupcakes seem like they're done, and a messy frosting adventure later Jinx has 12 completed cupcakes. Dang they look good, Jinx puts them on top of the oven for now. She grabs her desk and drags it over to where Caitlyn is sitting and then has to wait a few more minutes for the cupcakes to cool. Once they're cool enough she brings two over to the table. She places one down in front of Caitlyn, and quickly chows down on hers.
It's honestly the best thing she's eaten in ten years. The frosting melts in her mouth and the cupcake is soft and fluffy. "Thif ifs ahmazhing." She says mid bite.
Caitlyn simply glances down at the cupcake in front of her. She takes a slow and steady breath. "I meant what I said you know. It won't be easy, but we could still make things work. V… There are people out there that care about you."
Oh this topic again… Jinx shoves the rest of her cupcake into her mouth and swallows a few moments later. Her eyes darken. "Are you going to eat your cupcake? I made it for you after all."
"I can't exactly reach it." Caitlyn tries to shrug, but her shoulders are mostly restrained. "I could eat it if you freed me."
Jinx blinks. "Really? After all that, you want me to free you now?" Jinx takes a step back, "You're just like my sister, trying to help but just so you can get what you want."
Caitlyn blinks, clearly she wasn't expecting such a strong reaction. "I…"
"No!" Jinx cuts her off, "No more, I'm the one talking now." Jinx looks down and notices her hands are shaking. She clenches them into fists and digs her nails into her palms, the pain helps her focus. "If you don't want the cupcake, then fine!" Jinx swings her left fist towards the table, launching the cupcake into the abyss. "That's just fine, everything… is fine." Jinx takes another step backwards and crumples to the ground.
"Haha," Mylo mocks her, "I can't believe you considered sparing her for a minute there, you're such a coward. She's just trying to use you like all the rest."
"I'm no coward!" Jinx snaps at the shadows, head swiveling to face them, "I know what needs to be done."
"Then do it," is the only reply she gets back.
"Fine," She inhales sharply and rises to her feet, taking the couple steps forward again to reach Caitlyn. She tilts her head to one side, and this time she can actually see fear in the Kiramman's eyes.
"It doesn't have to be this way." Cailtyn tries again to reason with her, but this time Jinx isn't listening.
Jinx picks up what appears to be a mask off the table, though this one is special, since it can actually prevent the wearer from speaking. She pushes it forcefully into Cailtyn's mouth despite her protests and ties it in the back. Yes, this is how Jinx wants it. It's how it has to be.
A crow cries out in the distance, drawing her attention. It's getting late, she needs to report to Silco. Jinx makes sure Caitlyn's secure and jets off into the darkness, leaving the Kiramman girl alone with her thoughts and a tray of ten cupcakes.
