Suspicious Suits Part I
Humphrey's Residence
(Not so ordinary) Saturday 6:30am
Humphrey's P.O.V
I keep forgetting to reset the alarm every Friday night, now I gotta deal with waking up early on Saturday's. I get out of bed then I try to remember I was doing last night. I knew it was big and it was in there somewhere. Fuck my dumbass brain.
"A race...?" I manage to say. Then it hit me so hard I almost tripped over myself. How could I forget that I raced on the streets for the first time last night and managed to get home without passing through a jail cell along the way. "Man, I gotta admit, that was fun..." I say to myself before remembering something else. "Then there's that girl..." I refer to Iris. The intriguing ash furred wolf who's smart, fairly assertive, has similar quirky qualities like me... and likes 80's hits. She's something alright.
Since I was up now, I decide to shower first like it was a normal school day because I didn't think I washed last night. So much for a chilled Saturday morning.

An hour later... (7:31am)
I sit on a random box in the garage and stare at the car covered in sheets. I don't like to think about this car often but today's one of those day when I just do. It's crazy to think that I decided to still keep this as a memento. I should've just stayed in my room.
I hear someone knock on the front door, taking me off my train of thought. I wasn't complaining, it probably would've derailed sooner or later. I get up and open up the garage door because I was too lazy to go back in the house and open the front door. I walk out of the garage and instantly greet the two sisters. "Good morning Humphrey, I was starting to think we came by too early." Kate says. "Nah, I wake up early on Saturday's anyways so it's cool. What brings you here?"
"Well one: you should've told me Garth harassed you into racing last night (fuck...), two: we need someone to talk to about... y'know." Kate tells me. I almost stopped listening after she said the first bit. How the hell did she find out? And how isn't she angry at all about it?
"What exactly do you need to talk about?" I ask, hiding the shock of Kate finding out about last night. Lilly steps up to answer. "So last night, when you were off racing, two wolves in black and red suits showed up at our house. They claimed they were CS company agents, well we knew they weren't lying since we could tell from the colour scheme of the suits and their CS patches. Kate and I didn't know what they wanted with us since our parents' company barely had ties with the enterprise. Look Humphrey, I did some thinking and digging around last night, I'm gonna need you to trust me here, Kate is already on board because she helped piece together a fraction of the bigger picture." Lilly explains. I raise my eyebrow and respond cautiously. "Okay..."
"Alright, you want me to jump to the crazy conclusion first or start slow and explain as we go on?" Lilly asks. I was so confused now but also worried for these two. CS is shady, I already knew that much but now that Lilly's got a whole report and explanation makes me shiver. "Start with the conclusion... as weird as that sounds."
"CSE wants to slowly wipe out large, leading international companies and growing enterprises by either A: taking out the heads of each corporate power or B: merging with them in order to become the world's last and biggest industrial power on the planet. " Lilly finishes.
I have no words to pull out of my mouth except:"I gotta go..." I say to her and Kate as I turn around and walk towards the garage door. "Humphrey, I'm not crazy! I have evidence!" Lilly defends herself. I wasn't against her, I did believe her it's just that we're only three high school students with only a grain of sand as leverage. "I know but we're teens in high school! What are we gonna do?! Knock on the CEO's front door and tell him we know his company's plan to take over the world like it's some sort of badly written thriller/action movie? The cops won't believe us even with your evidence!" I exclaim.
"We know that! That's why I said we needed someone to talk to!" Kate yells, almost to the top of her lungs. "Stop yelling! It's 7 in the fucking morning!" A wolf staying across from my house screams at us. "My apologies, sir." I say to him then guide the sisters into the garage. Lilly immediately takes note of the dusty covers and cracked rims poking from beneath it. "You have a car?" Lilly asks after seeing the vehicle covered in sheets. "Can we get back to the idea of us probably getting assassinated for having risky knowledge of CS's plan to take of the fucking world?"
"Oh, well excuse me for just stumbling on life endangering info, Humphrey!" Lilly snaps at me. "Oh, no you didn't just stumble, you-!" I stop myself as I realize arguing over this now wouldn't solve anything. "Are we done?" Kate asks. "For now..." Lilly scoffs in her response.
"Anyway, I was gonna say that because no one from the firm or life insurance companies contacted us yet, it's safe to assume Swift's gonna send posers sooner or later. I dont know why or for what but last night gave me a good enough reason to believe it." Lilly tells me. "All this sounds so crazy..." I mutter.
"Hey, you used to come up with Classic Swift Enterprise conspiracy theories all the fucking time and now that they're actually linking up, you say it's crazy?" Lilly rolls her eyes. "I just... I dunno. I didn't think we'd be involved in it." I reply then glance at the sheets. Kate crosses her arms after noticing my action. Is there something you wanna tell us about the car you keep in covers? It doesn't look like Corvette, but also doesn't look cheap." She says. I completely forgot she found out about last night somehow.
"How did you find out about last night?" I ask her. "Don't change the subject Humphrey." She responds with her eyes fixated on mine. "You changed it first, we were talking about a corporate global domination scheme just a second ago." I say half jokingly. "Fair enough, you win just this once."
"So now that we know what we know... what do we do now?" Lilly asks. "Now we wait." Kate replies. "Wait for what? To get hunted down?" I ask Kate. "Calm down, CS doesn't know that we're on to them yet. They can't expect 17 year olds to be on their tail." Kate states. "You'll never know. Our lives as ordinary high school students just got yeeted out the window." Lilly says.

"I wouldn't say that yet. All we have is a bunch of scattered pieces of info. It doesn't mean our lives are instantly thrown into the gutter." Kate says. "Maybe if we go to the Fed's or CIA... I dunno." Lilly mutters shyly. "You think Central Intelligence and the FBI would believe us?" I ask her.
"No... maybe? All I'm trying to say is that it might be worth a shot." Lilly shrugs her shoulders. "Not a horrible idea idea but we might get thrown into prison for corporate espionage. Damn I feel like a spy saying that." I say then scratch my head. "You're not wrong but we definitely shouldn't push it or let it get to our heads." Lilly states. I nod my head in agreement. "We should get going. I didn't want to take up too much of your Saturday morning." Kate says. "No problem, I didn't have anything to do anyway."
"Tsk, you still owe us an explanation for the car and last night." Kate says before leaving the garage. "This stays between us, Humphrey. No one should know about it and no one needs to know." Lilly reminds me then starts to leave the garage. "Yeah, I know." I tell her. She looks at the sheets then walks away with Kate. I shut the garage door after the two sisters leave. I've got so much to wrap my head around today. And to think that yesterday, I believed street racing was the craziest thing I could get involved in at 17.

Kate's P.O.V.
Lilly and I had just arrived back home. We told Humphrey what we knew but now we didn't have a plan going forward. This week literally couldn't have gotten any worse. I doubt next week would be any better.
"Do you think mom and dad knew what they were getting into?" Lilly asks as she walks upstairs. The question was unexpected but I have asked myself the same thing for the last three nights. "I'm not sure..." I answer as I follow her. "They didn't seem like they expected it but they still had information on it."
"Remember how they acted so natural when they both went to work that morning? It was only once before that they'd both gone to work simultaneously. Do you think they-" I stop Lilly. "I really don't want to talk or think about this too much today. We should just sit down and let this digest. We just told Humphrey what we know and even he's probably gonna need time to think." I tell her.
"Yeah, you're ri-" She gets cut off again by someone knocking on the door. "Can I go a minute without being stopped half way through a sentence?" Lilly says. I walk downstairs then slowly approach the front door. I look through the peephole and see two wolves in suits again. They weren't in red and black. One was in a navy suit and a sky blue shirt with a brown tie, the other was wearing a black sweater matching her black high waist suit pants and a sienna coat. "Fashionable..." I mutter.
"Is it the two guys from last night again?" Lilly whispers. "No... it's not CS. These two are slick and fashionable. They're probably from mom and dad's company." I whisper back. "But their timing's kinda suspicious, to be honest." I open the door and greet the two suit wearing wolves. "Morning Miss Quinn. Sorry to bother you this early on a Saturday." The guy in the navy suit greets. "No worries."
"Our condolences regarding your loss. Eve and Tony (Oh boy. Cursed pairing on my part, I know. Plz don't kill me for it ):) were great leaders and I can imagine them also being amazing parents." The coat wearing wolf tells us. "They really were." Lilly says in a depressed and melancholic tone.
"Mm. After the incident on Monday, the board felt that some very "sensitive" information might've been the cause of this..." The navy wolf says. Lilly and I bat our eyes at eachother then look back at the visitors.
"And they have a solid reason to believe that your parents were in possession of it. I assume you know what we're talking about?" The sienna coat she-wolf finishes her colleague's sentence.
"No. We don't know what you're talking about." Lilly says. She sounded so confident and natural, she could've fooled me. "Are you sure? Either you must've seen something before or you're bluffing."
"I told you, we don't know what you're talking about. Mom and dad kept their work private-" She says but gets cut off by the suits. "You're a natural at this Miss, but seriously, if you've got folders, documents, files even digital files regarding the company or others related to it, you have to hand them over."
"I can never finish one sentence without being interrupted today, can I?" Lilly mutters next to me. "You didn't tell us who you are or give us proof you actually worked with our parents. For all we know, you could be spies or something." I tell the wolves in suits. 'No.' Lilly mouths following a facepalm.
"You two sound like you can hold your own. But I urge you to give us the info we need or-" The navy suited wolf gets cut off by a knock on the door before he could finish his maybe threat The whole house goes quiet as the knocking on the door continues.
