Chapter 6: Danny in Silent Springs

Previously

"So, I see you like nerdy stuff..."Serenity said, wanting to get his attention.

Danny was starting to get annoyed by her prying and for being rude.

"What is with this girl?..."Danny thought in annoyance as he noticed an explosion happening several miles while she wasn't looking.

"What was that?!..."Danny thought, fearing the worst and he knew that he had to get away and fast.

"Listen, I get you want attention but I just remembered that I gotta be somewhere else..."Danny semi-lied. "Bye..."He said as he left.

Serenity was surprised by his sudden departure and rubbed her chin.

"What is this? No one ever did that before..."Serenity thought before decided to follow, wanting to learn more about that guy.

Oh boy.

Present Time

Danny wasted no time in running out of the park and looking for a spot to hide.

He quickly hid behind a nearby tree and changed forms. Since he didn't want to attract attention to himself out of town, he became invisible and took off.

Now that he was in the air, he tried to head in the direction of that explosion.

"Now...where was it?..."Danny asked out loud.

He soon arrived but stopped in the air and nearly face palmed when he saw what caused the explosion.

He saw his parents, some hobos who apparently had been living inside the house and some cops who were writing them a ticket.

"We thought for sure that a ghost was in this abandoned house. How we're we suppose to know it was just hobos sneaking in it?..."Jack argued while the cop ignored him.

Danny decided to stay up here to avoid their detection devices and sighed.

"Well, this was actually faster than expected..."Danny sighed as he knew that either his parents will be left with a warning and fine...or they will have to head back home.

Either way, he's not needed here.

The ghost boy flew away, wanting to avoid getting into this crossfire.

With Serenity

"Where did he go?..."Serenity asked out loud as she looked for that boy.

It was weird but it was like he just vanished into thin air or something.

"That boy has to be around here someplace..."Serenity said in a frustrated tone. "How dare he? Does he even know who I am?..."She thought, not liking being brushed off like that.

"Wait...I didn't get a chance to mention who I am...that must be it..."Serenity thought as she got an idea.

As soon as she finds that guy, she was gonna show just the kind of girl she is...

"That'll show him just the kind of girl I really am..."Serenity thought as she decided to go home and make some plans, her previous issues with her Spring Break now forgotten.

Meanwhile

Rock and Skunk( who had just come home to drop off Serenity's things) had heard the explosion and they were surprised that for once, it didn't come from them.

"What was that?..."The former roadie asked out loud.

"Someone's either rocking out and having wild party and didn't invite us..."Rock said, looking offended.

Crystal, who had been passing by, suddenly felt something.

"Hmm...I sense a strange energy coming from a distance...a strange, new energy of the likes I have never felt before..."Crystal said in her spiritualist way.

"That's great, Honey...Well, come on Skunk...let's go back to figuring out my next music video..."Rock said.

Since they weren't going out of town, he figured that he could use this time to get a head start on some things and that includes coming up with a new song and video.

"Alright...to the studio we go..."Skunk said as they went to do so.

With Danny

The ghost boy founded a spot to land near the beach and changed forms.

He sighed.

"Well, it was a nice trip here while it lasted..."He muttered until he noticed where he landed.

It seems that people are setting up for the festival right now, one that he might not be seeing after all.

"Pity, it might have been fun..."Danny thought as he was about to leave, only for some balls to roll his way.

"Huh?..."Danny said as he picked them up.

"Um...excuse me...can we have those back?..."A voice was heard.

Danny looked to see a younger looking boy, maybe around 14 with glasses and two other younger teens as well who had been around what looked to be a milk toss booth in progress.

'Huh...oh...sure..."Danny said as he handed them back to them.

"Thanks, Dude..."The boy in a red hoodie said appreciatively.

"No problem...So, you guys are setting up for the festival?..."Danny questioned.

"Yeah, for the milk toss booth..."The boy with glasses said.

"My name is Willy, by the way..."The younger boy introduced himself. "And this is my best friend Quincy and my girlfriend Alyssa..."He introduced.

"Hi Willy...Quincy...Alyssa...My name is Danny..."The ghost boy introduced himself to the first friendly faces he's met in this town.

"So, you new around here? I don't think I've seen you around school?..."Quincy asked.

"Kinda...my family and I are here on...vacation..."Danny semi-lied.

He didn't want MORE people to think he's a freak just because his parents are ghost hunters. These kids didn't press on but said this.

"I see...well, I hope you enjoy your time here in Silent Springs..."Alyssa said, being nice.

"Thanks..."Danny said.

"Quincy...Alyssa...Willy...come on, we got work to do..."Alyssa's mother, who was the person in charge of the festival this year, said from a few yards away.

"Coming, Mom..."Alyssa called before turning to the new boy.

"It was nice meeting you, Danny. I hope you and your family make it to the festival this weekend..."Alyssa said.

"Yeah, it's gonna be tight..."Quincy said in a "rapper-esque" way.

"Uh...we'll see..."Danny said before he saying goodbye to them.

A little later

Danny soon arrived to the motel where he and his family had decided to stay.

Jazz has also come back from her historical tour of the town and their parents told them what happened today.

"So...bad news..turns out that the house wasn't really haunted...there were just some hobos breaking into it and living there..."Jack explained.

"And let me guess...the cops busted you guys disturbing the peace and now we have to go home..."Jazz said, since this has happened before.

"Actually...not really. Uh...apparently, disturbing the peace happens a lot around here and the cops just left us off with a fine and warning..."Jack explained.

"And...we're going home or staying here?..."Danny asked and his parents sighed.

"Actually, Sweetie...we only came to this town for the ghost and to be honest, we would go home but the RV's engine is on the fritz and it will take a while to get the right parts to fix it..."Maddie explained.

"Yeah, so...it looks like you'll be spending Spring Break here after all..."Jack said, trying to be optimistic.

Danny and Jazz groaned at this.

"Unbelievable..."Danny muttered as he went to his own bed.

On the one hand, at the very least his parents ghost hunt here ended early and they hadn't been forced out of town here...on the other hand, they are stuck here for an unknown amount of time.

The ghost boy sighed as he tried to be optimistic.

"Well, I'm pretty sure the worst is behind us now...I'm sure it won't take Mom and Dad too long to fix the RV...I guess we can handle being here for a few more days..."The ghost boy thought as he decided to go to sleep.

Unaware of what tomorrow and this entire week has in store for him.
