Hello everyone. I'm sorry for not updating in so long. As I will finish a load of stories next, I should be able to update the stories I have more. But of course, this is one of the ones being finished so if you read this story you probably won't see it.
Either way, I've finished three stories of eleven. That's eight- ten stories left in total and with all of those it's a bit hard to keep all the ones updated. I haven't finished any story since I updated this last but I have finished a load of Oneshots.
I know I'm just giving excuses. But there you have it. I'm sorry this is only a short filler but this is what you get…
It felt like Amina had been with us for a lot more than she had.
It felt like a thousand years…
Now the Christmas was over, all gifts had been opened- or at least the ones we had had so far. I had an idea that by the time we could take Amina out, there were people all over town that would give her a whole lot more.
Although that could wait, now I just had to find a way for us all three to come through New Year's night without giving Amina wounds for life…
"So…" I had just come into the supermarket while Luke was home with Amina. "What is it that we'll do even?"
We had just gone through it the whole boxing day, until right before I left for the store, I just somehow needed for Luke to confirm what I knew again.
"We will make the basement into a living room." He confirmed what I too had come up with. "It's the only place in the house without windows so she won't be bothered by flashing lights. And then there are special kinds of headphones that covers all kinds of noise from outside… I can go and get some of those."
"So that's headphones against noises, what more do we need?"
I really knew, already now we had figured what food and tastes might make Amina feel like home.
"So what did we need?"
I really couldn't know why I kept asking Luke questions I already knew the answers for. But as he said it I packed my basket full of things I had barely tasted before.
"…and then" When I had picked out all things to buy we just had to go back to why we were really doing this. "We'll actually need to spend some time downstairs until New Year's Night and then, if we're lucky Amina might seem safer than she would have been if she was arms listening to bo… fireworks."
I sighed at what Luke said. Maybe he knew more about Amina than I did, she hadn't let him go for more than a few minutes at the time since we came home with her.
"But," There was an undeniable question I just had to ask. "Is this really going to work?"
"Listen… we can only do so much. For new year's and all other times… But this is the idea we have."
Those thoughts kept going on and on in my mind while I put in the cart what we needed. Still I couldn't let go of the memory of the water- like soup we had gotten when we visited Amina's orphanage.
Somehow I managed to pay for everything and make my way home without being in an accident.
The most important thoughts…
Yes, it was in the bags I carried now what we would try and use for everything we could have to help her- or at least try to. Along with the headphones that Luke had promised he would get maybe we could actually succeed.
If there was only some way for us to tell her and for her to understand where she was now, about nice colors with the new year that Rory had looked forward to all year when she was little. And that Leo was looking forward to now.
If we could only make her understand that only because Luke let go of her for a second and went into another room it didn't take her screaming bloody murder for him to return…
That fact was bothering me a bit more than what I would have liked to admit…
Random fact
Yes, you could really see this was a short filler… I did, however, look up what kinds of foods and drinks that might make Amina feel like home- if that helps her of course. And hopefully too thought of some things that could be used to help Amina.
