Chapter 2: Off One Bus, Into One Room

"Your suitcases, Mr Agreste," said a porter, upon the class' arrival at the hotel. Due to Adrien's fame and wealth, he was recognised wherever he went. But he was only grateful that the porter wasn't making a fuss.

"Thank you," smiled Adrien, loading his luggage - two suitcases - onto the trolley. Chloe, naturally, didn't bother to even glance at the staff (she was doing her nails as usual). Her classmate and lackey, Sabrina, was about to take Chloe's bags (as well as her own) but another porter stepped in and took them for her. The staff took the bags up to the rooms, and Nathaniel, the Class Representative, helped out. The other students were instructed to wait in the lobby to find out their rooms. Once Nathaniel returned from upstairs, Bustier, along with the school headmaster, Damocles, read out the room order.

"Now, Chloe and Sabrina, you will be in Room 422. The rest of you, I'm afraid, will have to share a room," said Bustier.

"All sixteen of us, Miss? Why's that?" asked Nathaniel.

"For reasons you shouldn't concern yourself with, young Nathaniel," said the headmaster. "Now, come on - off to Room 423 you go."

Mumbling begrudgingly, the rest of the class trudged off to Room 423.

In spite of their predicament, Room 423 wasn't bad - in fact, it just about managed to fit sixteen hungry teenagers while still being comfortable. Everyone gathered on the sofa to work out where they would sleep.

"Did anyone bring sleeping bags?" asked Nathaniel.

"I did," said Max, the smartest in class. "I predicted that there would be a 95% chance I'd need one."

"Good on you. Anyone else?"

"Nope," the class chorused.

"Right," said Nathaniel. "Max, you can use your sleeping bag then. Now, this sofa -" he pulled out the bottom of the sofa to reveal a mattress "- not only has an extra bed, but -" he pushed the back of the sofa down " - it also folds downwards. So, I can sleep down here. Rose, Zoe, Mylene and Alix, since you lot are the shortest out of all of us, do you think you could fit in the bed up here? I can sleep at the bottom."

"Of course!" agreed Rose, ever the bubbly one. "It'll be great sleeping in the same bed as friends!"

"Just as long no-one snores," said Alix drily.

"You're a fine one - you've kept me up all night at our sleepovers!" teased Mylene. Alix protested, while the others laughed.

"Now, because there are two double beds, we can put them to good use. Ivan, Kim, Juleka, Lila, Marc, Luka and Nino, you lot can use the beds."

"Righto," the seven of them chorused.

"Don't worry, babe," said Alya, Nino's girlfriend. "We might not get to share a bed, but at least we have the day to ourselves."

"So that leaves three: Marinette, Adrien and Alya. Because there's a fairly large cupboard, one of you would have to sleep in it with the doors open. Which one of you do you think can do that?" Marinette, who was shorter than Adrien and Alya, agreed to sleep in the cupboard.

"Thanks, Marinette," said Nathaniel. "Alya, Adrien, what about you?"

"Don't worry about me," said Alya. "I can sleep under the table. I've had enough experience, spending time under the kitchen table with my sisters."

"If you say so. Adrien?"

Adrien thought for a while. "I'll sleep in the bathtub. It shouldn't be too bad. And besides, at least I'll have a clear path if I need to go to the toilet at night." Everyone laughed.

"So what do we do now, dudes?" said Nino. "It'll be boring, just mucking about."

"I know," said Luka, who was Juleka's brother and Zoe's boyfriend. "Zoe, you're good at telling scary stories, aren't you?"

"Oh yeah," murmured Juleka, who had a macabre personality. "I like them. They help me sleep at night."

"If you say so yourself," said Zoe. "Have you got your legs crossed?"

"Yes," chorused the class.

"Have you got your listening ears?" said Zoe.

"Yes," chorused the class.

"Are you sitting comfortably?" said Zoe.

"Just get on with it!" said Kim, irritably.

"Alright, alright. Then I'll begin..."
