Molly plopped her body onto the bed.

She was so dead tired that she couldn't keep her eyes open. Scratch lazily went through the floor to enter the attic. He went to the other side of the room. She mumbled something, though he couldn't understand what she was saying. He came closer to Molly.

"What?" Scratch asked.

She forced her eyes open enough to see him. "I love you," she repeated herself. "I'm sorry I can't stay up longer…"

"Hey, you need your rest, kid." He responded. "You did a lot today."

"I know, I know…" She started to mumble her words again.

Scratch grabbed her blanket and draped it over her. Molly sleepily groaned as she closed her eyes. He waited a moment before he finally decided to do something. It wasn't something he normally did for anyone, but he couldn't resist the urge anymore. He kissed her on the forehead and whispered an 'I love you too' to her before he floated off to his area of the room. Only he would know that happened, nobody else.

What he didn't know, however, was the fact that she heard every word well enough to smile before actually falling asleep.
